Grassland Opera

The name is so fitting for this fragrance. I love this one! This one is gorgeous. The notes sing together like a beautiful opera and the journey from initial spray to dry down is beautiful. The artistry of Future Society is to be admired. I would get a full bottle of this any day. The sage, the fig, and the mimosa flower are the stars of the show for me and I'm obsessed. It lasts for a while on the skin as well. If you're looking for a pretty girl scent that is unique and has a story behind it, I'd recommend this one!

I got the discovery set a while ago and didn’t like any of the rest. This however, I love enough that I got a backup bottle. Ginger is evident in the opening but in the dry down there’s a dry grass to it that really settles nicely. A lot of people are saying this doesn’t last but on my skin I get at least five hours. It lasts on clothes in a subtle powdery way. A beautiful and unique fragrance. Very energizing and bright.

This is the second perfume I’ve smelled from future society and I’m really blown away! It is a slightly feminine leaning unisex. When I first sprayed it I got a blast of ginger and wasn’t sure if I’d like it. Immediately after it dried down though it became a beautifully well rounded woody floral scent. This is unlike anything I have ever smelled before while still being extremely wearable.

Green hay drifts into a rounded softer green grass. Natural. Ginger zing with soft sweet mimosa. Gentle woods, well-balanced. I'm discovering my love for (subtle) yellow florals. Fresh, green and a little spicy on the skin. Not overwhelmingly damp, and I like the arid and herbal grassiness. Much less sweet on skin, and rather than floral obvious, this is woods and leaves and warm air. Surprised vetiver isn't in this one; I get wheat tones. Reminds me of peppermint tea, before it becomes slightly spicy and citrusy and invigorating. The sage and ginger are definitely present. It's spicier than I thought it would be, and reminds me a bit of curry. But its description of crisp, verdant and energizing is apt — alongside something that is also calming and poised. This was inspired by a plant that went extinct in Kentucky, but it takes me to golden orange sunsets stretched over a vast grassland prairie of the Dakotas, wild mustangs roaming free. I don't think I'd buy a full bottle, but it's probably my favorite of the house.

Tried this whole collection through the discovery set. This and solar canopy are my favorites, floating forest is tolerable and unique and fun, haunted rose is nauseating, and reclaimed flame and invisible woods are just alright (they both remind me of jo malone scents). I live in a grassy area (midwest), and this fragrance resonates with the prairie/grassland. My first guess upon spraying was honeysuckle. It's really an indistinguishable creamy floral. These scents seem to give you an impression of one extinct smell, rather than lead you through distinct phases. This whole collection is very sweet, with the exception of invisible woods. i find this scent very comforting, and it is sweet, not herbal, but still complex. this one lasts about 1.5 hours.

A lovely, grassy, green scent with the tanginess of fig sap hovering around all the long prairie grasses. More of a dry green scent than a lush one, but the white flowers that are present, although more minimally represented than you might expect, bring some added softness and sweetness.This one is really unique and different. Not much amber and the wood stays in the background til the dry down.

What you'd expect (green, floral, some citrus) for about an hour, and then it dries down to creamier and softer woody fragrance, reminiscent of something along the lines of S33 or maybe Kilian Sacred Wood. a nice oriental fragrance, well balanced and not too heady though definitely has the potential to be over sprayed. feels like I'm walking through a prairie, as summer turns to fall and grass stalks start to dry out and transition from spicy and green to sweet and woody crackling under your feet. Definitely feels like more of a fall fragrance to me.

This is a nice green scent, leans a bit feminine, doesn’t project a lot, lasts about 3 hours. It does evoke the image of a grassy field but I agree with the below review in that I definitely get a (pleasant) hay smell. I like it but it’s nothing to write home about. This could be a “love” if only it performed better. Alas

The above description states this an "amber spicy" fragrance, it is not. It opens fresh, floral and leaning towards green, and matures into a woody floral fragrance. The patchouli is only there to round out the composition and does not overpower. Very well balanced, worth buying a full bottle.

Fresh, crisp, citrus, ginger and agikalawood. Smells like a woody open-air resort spa. Comforting woody dry-down. A great addition to my gym rotation. I also like Invisible Woods for the gym for similar reasons.

Fresh and milky grasses slightly veering towards green fields, florals are gently laid next to the woods, different and daring

Ginger, fig leaf, and powdery mimosa. No grass anywhere and not Verdi by any stretch, but a pretty easygoing melody.

Sweet, Herbal, Dry Grass, Fresh Powder, Slightly Earthy This scent lives up to it's name and smells like lying in the middle of a prairie in late August. It reminds me of the grasslands surrounding Badlands National Park in South Dakota. I can picture my travels there when I smell this scent. Something about the slightly sweet slightly powdery aspects of this fragrance also gives me a bit of a scented baby wipes vibe. I think I would like this more if I didn't have the scent association to baby wipes. It really morphs from first spray to dry down and is dynamic for those who prefer less linear scents. I like this one but don't love it, but think it is fine fragrance. Truthfully all Future Society's scents are well done. Sillage: 3/5 Projection: 3/5 Longevity: 3/5 Leans unisex

On first impression, I had a feeling that this was going to be my favorite from the lineup. I get a strong licorice note on the opening, but it’s not overwhelming. It kind of reminded me of Tom Ford Black Orchid (which I have tried and liked), but more floral and less dense. I had such high hopes. As soon as I tried it on skin, it turned into straight Irish Spring bar soap. Not a bad smell, but not how I want to smell.

There’s a hint of black licorice that pushes this a bit too far into the masculine for my taste. I’m surprised this ended up being my least favorite from the house, as the name and description made me expect more of a green accord. That said, each scent from this house has surprised me in some way—I do enjoy a little of the unexpected. I’d suggest a rename: “Left Field Opera,” as the scent implies.

This is the only perfume from this house that didn’t make me nauseous, which is a bummer bc I really love the concept. Grassy and fresh-very pleasant, but not good enough for me to invest in a full sized bottle. Longevity is also horrible. It is gone in an hour.

I don't hate it (i got it as a free sample) but I just don't understand who the target demo is. Maybe other people like smelling like grass but it's just not me.

This is more of a hay note than fresh green grass at the outset. I get the wood and sandalwood, which my skin tends to amp, but the sage and bergamot are nowhere to be found, leaving me sadly with just woods, a general powderiness, and a mishmash of headache-enducing florals like jasmine. As it develops, the throw becomes distinctly baby diaper. A fresh baby diaper, but still revolting; just a powdery awful floral. If this smelled like grass, mint, sage I'd be pumped, but as it is I'm washing it off after suffering through about 15-30 minutes. edit: despite washing with an oil based cleanser and a soap cleanser, rubbing with alcohol, and scrubbing well, I can still smell baby diaper. I don't have anything scented like this in my home; it's definitely this horrid perfume. I am about to put Vick's under my nose so I can go on with my day.

I rarely hate fragrances and always try to find something positive to say about them, even if I wouldn't wear them myself. However, in this case, I can't find one good aspect. Great longevity and sillage, but NOT in a good way; it sticks to you like guilt.
