Invisible Woods

I don't really understand the negative reviews on this one, I really like it. But I think we all interpret smells differently, or they smell differently on different people. I got the sample set from Future Smells and this was my favorite one. It smells cozy. It reminds me a bit of Etat Libre D'Orange She Was An Anomaly in the cozy/laudry/soap way. It doesn't have any of the same notes and isn't exactly the same scent, but whatever feeling it evokes of feminine coziness is the same for me. It also smells like a less sharp version of Heartless by Poesie. I will say the opening of this was harsh, but it dries down to something super cozy, and I put it on last night and can still smell it this morning. I think the price is fair. I have a bit of a nose cold so this all could be wrong, but as of right now, I'm loving it. EDIT - I'll say that I love this much much more the *next day* after spraying at night. The first hour or so is too much for me. Too heavy and strong. It settles into this wonderful cozy, milky almost, fragrance and the remaining smell that lingers is lovely and sweet and perfect.

I don’t know why, but I can’t stop wearing and sniffing this scent. It does not at all fit the profile of the perfumes I gravitate towards. Reminds me of some very nice smelling guys I know, and of high-end spas with eucalyptus and herbal tea, with a touch of woodiness like a clean sauna. Immediately relaxes me. Initially I got a sample, and wore it to the gym, got compliments from cute ladies, so I decided to buy a travel bottle. Very unique scent, not a safe blind buy.

Eucalyptus is an immediate put-off for me, but all I have to say is WOAH. The eucalyptus adds something light and airy–it’s not the usual strong, artificial oil scent. While it dries slowly, it is quick to leave your skin and a little too soapy initially to be perfect for me. But this is quite the summer delight. The sweetness is absolutely perfect.

I really love this until the final powdery dry down i get. It's not bad smelling but makes me feel like sneezing. The initial spray isn't great to me either but it immediately calms down into something lovely. Very herbal, delicious, and soothing. Kind of spicy with the ginger and lively with the eucalyptus, grapefruit, and woody notes. I love chamomile and use this after a chamomile latte body scrub and moisturizer.

The below review hit the nail on the head. This is my least favorite out of all of the ones that I tried from Future Society. It's a herbaceous, tart floral. The opening is the hardest to deal with, but once it dries down it's not so bad. I could see myself reaching for this even during the spring, but not often.

Not quite feminine enough for my personal preference, though I appreciate how interesting it is. The ginger note ventures into a slightly strange territory for me (almost gourmand to my senses) which doesn’t quite complement the overall formula for me.

Very herbal, very woody. The eucalyptus comes through strongly. It's masculine, but moreso it's massage oil or cleaning product.

Basically, santal 33 with iris. Quite interesting tbh

Spicy, Herbaceous, Woods, Hint of Tart Floral Smells like the medicine cabinet of your wiccan cousin. I thought based on the notes this was going to be my favorite Future Society fragrance, because when I look at the individual notes, they are some of my favorites. This is proof that you should never blind buy any fragrance, because instead of being a love for me like expected, it was just "meh." Something about the way these notes are balanced and blended just does not do it for me. My nose really picks up the ginger, eucalyptus, chamomile, and base notes with a fleeting splash of grapefruit and not very discernible rose. The rose I do smell is more of a sour lemon-y rose which is my least favorite version of rose. I like the natural and not so powdery iris in the base though. I also do not know if I go nose-blind to this really quickly or if my skin chemistry devours it, because this scent is almost fleeting to me. While the top notes are expected not to linger, I don't get longevity out of the heart or base either. It disappears in minutes to me, but my daughter says she can smell it still. I do smell it slightly longer on a tester strip so I think it is a combo of both. My potential nose-blindness to this is also likely why it's not for me, but it's also not a bad fragrance. I received this free with no obligations and my opinion is my own. It’s kind of an odd scent to me. This opens with peppery citrus notes and there’s a green herbal undertone. I don’t get much of the geranium but I’m able to pick out all of the other notes- especially the eucalyptus, grapefruit, and turmeric! This smells perfectly unisex to me. Do I like it? No lol. I’m not a fan of super herbal notes. I don’t think it smells bad, it’s just not me. It’s not overly complex but has some interest. I can’t do a wear test for longevity because I don’t want to be smelling like eucalyptus and armoise for hours. I like the concept behind these fragrances and the packaging is cool- I like how it tells about the extinct notes. I do feel emphasis was placed on the marketing over the scent profile on this one.... Though it just might be so different from my personal sweet scent loving self, that could be part of it. I just think it leans too medicinal to appeal to most people.

Aptly named as the woods in this scent are invisible. I sniff this and think "Is this something people would voluntarily want to put on their bodies?" Mmm not me. I keep wondering if the perfumer imagines the ancient world as being camphor & eucalyptus predominantly. Ok, eucalyptus is a tree & the ones I smelled in Santa Barbara were amazing. Did not carry over to this scent however. I know that as raw materials go, eucalyptus is inexpensive, as is camphor. Did the budget for this company get exhausted on advertising & nice packaging?

So I have tried all of Future Society’s perfumes and this is unfortunately the only one I do not like. The opening is especially bad. It smells very chemically? Not like anything I’ve smelled before. It certainly doesn’t come across as “woody” or anything else from nature, if I’m being honest. I do pick up on a little of the ginger and eucalyptus but overall just a very strange sour smell. I’ll be skipping a full bottle of this one for sure.

Soft, round rose with vibrant ginger. Gentle sting of grapefruit. Interesting woods. Natural! But soapier. Dries DRY. Wood-forward with that sparkle of eucalyptus, and slightly kerosene on first spritz. I'm also getting palo santo. A clear and bright and calming frag, but sadly, like others from the house, it translates worse on my skin.

i'm not sure why but to me this smells like a rotting book upon drying down. it probably just means my sense of smell isn't compatible with it. i'm not that upset about not liking it since this came in the discovery set but i will not be smelling this again (ᴗ—ᴗ—)

Eucalyptus top note screams mouthwash upon first spraying. Almost no silage, and very similar to reclaimed flame. Herbal tea smelling, the most herbal out of the bunch. It smells like you cleaned up with herbal soap if you spray this. Soapy.

Initially I loved the sparkling ginger and grapefruit combined with woods. But that went away quickly. What emerged in its place was a sweetish powdery note I can’t quite identify. I suppose it’s the iris? Whatever it is, it’s not for me.

I know a few people who love this but to my nose, it smells exactly like Repel Sportsmen Max bug spray. Truly awful.

I thought I’d like this based on the notes but it literally smells like bug spray.

My first impression of the opening was: nutty, baby oil & peppery fir tree. Then a minute later, on my skin, I smelled ginger-chamomile leather. Masculine, slightly aquatic (or maybe just salty/grapefruit). Very astringent. The dry down on my skin is surprisingly mild and sweet and feminine. Reminds me of an aqua-themed womens' lotion, but a cheap one from suave or something, one that would be light blue and cool, and marketed to match your ocean-themed bathroom. Actually, it might be that bathroom hand soap from the late 90s, with the sand & starfish or a clown fish on the bottle, the one every house seemed to have. Google is telling me it was called "Softsoap Aquarium Series". It smells like that. With the leather from a beige carseat. I don't want to smell like this and I don't like this. I don't hate it, at all. But as someone who steers away from soapy scents and clean scents, it didn't convert me.

This is so serene and calming. All the notes just blended beautifully together into a lasting skin scent. While it does not smell like the forests I've been in, it does evoke the feeling of communing with the forest and breathing the fresh air. The eucalyptus, ginger, and chamomile together renders a herbal calming freshness sensation for me. It's almost a tea like fragrance without the tea note, if that makes sense. The projection is not great, but the longevity is decent and I can keep breathing this wave of calm when I bring my wrist to my nose. I have not smelled any fragrance like this so far and I'm really liking it. This is what I wish spas smell like. I ordered the discovery set and so far I've tried Haunted Rose and this perfume. Both are masterpieces with good longevity.
