What makes Deixis stand out isn’t just the scent itself (and it is a beauty!) but the sense that it was made with real intention. You can tell this was a personal project for the perfumer. There’s a quiet honesty to it, like something created not for trends or mass appeal, but out of a need to capture a feeling. The fragrance itself is understated and comforting. It opens with a soft sweetness that never turns cloying, then settles into a warm blend of amber, frankincense, and sandalwood. It feels calm and reflective, not perfumy in a showy way, but more like something you wear for yourself. Because it was born out of a private, almost meditative routine (composed in the early morning hours while the rest of the world was quiet) it carries that mood with it. As a wearer, you pick up on that intimacy. It’s the kind of scent that doesn’t demand attention but quietly becomes part of your day, your thoughts. In a way, Deixis feels like wearing someone else’s journal entry, not in a voyeuristic sense, but in that it invites you into a moment of sincerity.

Got a sample of this on a whim and I absolutely love it- rich, sweet, and infinitely more complex than most vanilla scents. The only thing I haven't seen mentioned (so maybe it's just my skin) is that it has a very faint saltiness to it and I don't know where it's coming from. I don't mind it at all, I think it adds to the depth of this scent, but it is something to possibly be aware of. I'm on a self-imposed perfume buying ban right now, otherwise I would get a full bottle so fast.

This is a glorious amber that manages to be rich but also comforting, enveloping, and not overbearing! The color is arresting for sure, but it's not nearly as opaque/scary in scent as it is in color. Something in this reminds me deeply of Luctor et Emergo...hard to explain, but a certain doughy vibe of heliotropin, vanilla, coumarin. This, however, feels like that scent was charred a bit with pine and incense resinoid...just lightly, though!

Absolutely stunning. It's a gorgeous amber--sultry, deep and dark but with a softly-sweet and airy vanilla that lifts you into the clouds. Bruno is such a gifted perfumer and I love his work, so I knew it would be special, but this exceeded my expectations. A thoughtful meditation on love and grief, Deixis is truly exquisite. I hope this becomes a part of the permanent collection.

The opening is just gorgeous. The dry down is nice, too, but it doesn't excite me as much. I need to do a full wearing of this, but I'm already contemplating a backup bottle.

Here's another drop from 2025 that I reached for. The second one after Gardelia, created by Bruno Fazzolari, DEIXIS. I rarely blindly purchase perfumes these days. I do it when sampling is not an option, and there has been enough to excite me in the perfumer's portfolio to motivate me. Not all of Bruno's scents appeal to me. Some I like very much and some I'm not as fond of, but the most distinctive trait of him as a perfumer is that he is always ready to create something out of the ordinary. He doesn't follow trends but lets his creative ethos drive him forward. And the second thing that pushed me to pursue was the moniker, one with which I have a hard time restraining myself: "AMBER." DEIXIS has proven to be nothing like what I expected; after all, this is Bruno. I was slightly disappointed at first, but quickly reminded myself to approach the perfume with no expectations. So I did. I fancied this to be a heavy Labdanum-based Amber scent in the more traditional style: dusty, dry, and leathery. It is nothing like that. Then, I stopped setting expectations, reset, and went back to where it all started - Bruno composed this perfume as an ointment for his soul while going through a difficult period in his life. Then, DEIXIS made sense. On my skin, this is a Frankincense perfume driven by the Olibanum-Styrax combo, making it fall into the "Churchy" or "Liturgical" Incense genre of fragrances. However, here comes the Bruno twist: the counterbalance provided by the Vanilla and Sandalwood, both of which add a soothing and gourmand feel to prevent the perfume from becoming your stereotypical incense composition or feeling too cold/austere. The olibanum opens the fragrance with its terpenic, citrus-like, and slightly coniferous facets, and it is quickly followed by vanilla. The labdanum is there, but it is very gentle, too shy for my liking. The Styrax does the heavy lifting next to the olibanum, and for the most part, you get this churchy frankincense experience offset by the sweet and gourmand facets of the vanilla. Later in the dry-down, the sandalwood creeps in to add its spicy, milky, and creamy nuances to the build. The perfume ends as a soothing, slightly spicy, milky, and creamy sandalwood with hints of incense. It's a very potent perfume that easily fills the room and lasts the entire day, but it is not heavy. I did wear it in the peak of the Summer heat, and it never felt cloying; a great technical achievement, I should say, to keep the vanilla in check like that. I now get this fragrance. It embodies what I think Bruno felt during his days of grief - it has a spiritual side invoked by the frankincense accord, a soothing and caressing aspect captured through the warmth and cozy embrace of the vanilla and the sandalwood, and overall evokes a sense of tranquility. It might be a tad too sweet at times for me, but that is only if I smell it close up. In the air, it strikes a harmonious balance. Overall, it is undoubtedly a Bruno Fazzolari creation - familiar but with a twist. And that's why I keep coming back for more. UPDATE: After wearing it more in colder weather, I decided to part with it, as the sweetness was too much for me. It's the type of "mass-appealing sweetness" that I can't stomach. first spray impressions: vanilla 28's cooler, more complex older sister. one hour in - noticeable decrease in strength a couple hours into dry down - the sandalwood is peeking through more & the scent is sweetening up. still not projecting I really wanted to like this scent, but it just didn't last on me. Longevity issues are unfortunately leaving it at a 4.5/10 for me, personally. If it had more longevity, I'd give this a solid 6.5/10. It's nice, but nothing too unique. It accomplishes what it set out to do, but might not be for my skin's chemistry.

Quite heavy, sweet, and too room-filling for me. This style of scent is generally not in my wheelhouse and Deixis isn't exception. If you like amber-y scents, you will probably like this more than I did. It is quite comforting, though. The perfumer's inspiration and life experience makes sense and translated well to the perfume.

This is the scent that's made me realize I don't like intense ambers. Or maybe it's just the cloying amount of sweetness and vanilla. I bought a sample based on the reviews that described it as "churchlike" or "liturgical" but I got none of that at all, and instead got something way too heavy and saccharine for my taste. But if that's your thing then you'll probably love this. Just not for me. Also after washing this off my wrists and neck, the smell clung to my hand towel for like a day and gave my bathroom a nauseating stench.

Velvety, rich amber with depth & balance. Such delicacy of touch; some ambers are sledgehammers, but this is warm cat’s paws stepping with graceful precision to curl into a warm circle on your lap. The sandalwood creates a light, open-feeling space in the heart. I’ve only had it a few days yet & only worn it in personal spaces, but applied at night, it holds the feeling of a soft glowing ember on the skin overnight, my pillow holds the scent, and it follows me quietly into the morning.

I love it. I’m obsessed. New signature scent. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect resinous, warm, spiced, rich perfumes. I find a few here and there that almost meet my expectations, but this one exceeded them. I’m so grateful to have found it. On me, it keeps its spiced, warm, silky, alluring depth and I never get tired of it. Even my mom likes it on me, and she hates perfume.

This deserves more reviews, I love it! I don't really understand why the liquid is black, but it's certainly unique. I thought I hated labdanum, because LL Labdanum 18 smelt so much like baby powder, I couldn't get it off fast enough. But this is such a nice warm spice, a little cake-y, a little vanillery.

Heavy, syrupy, sweet resins. If you enjoy a lot of middle eastern scents, you'd probably like this. Definitely has that warm almost oud-y aroma.

Pleased to report this is as wonderful as I hoped. Dreamy amber blend w/ woody incense and vanilla...very smooth and super comforting. Bravo!
