Lilac Brûlée

For those of you who enjoy this fragrance, but want something a little more, try this with DELULU From ODDITY. It is a great match because they both have rhubarb in their composition. It blends together quite well. I have done that myself and it really does what I wish the fragrance did to begin with. It still has that wonderful sweetness, but the vegetal aspects are stronger now. There is also a slight citrus aspect that gives the overall fragrance extra body and characteristic. I like them both separately, but I like them even more when they are together.

This smells SO good... it's sweet but not in an overbearing gourmand way. My partner isn't into fragrances and this was still in the %10 of smells he actually enjoyed on me. This starts off with loud marzipan, transitions into zippy rhubarb and settles into a lilac woody vanilla. I got a sample of this because the notes in isolation really spoke to me but I couldn't picture them in symbiosis-- this is definitely a winner for me. Would buy a full bottle but I have pause due to the really lackluster longevity.

This is exactly what I was hoping it would be. I don't like florals too much, but this was absolutely lovely. sweet creamy creme-brulee and marzipan with sugared lilac petals. Its a very light floral, not enough to give me a headache, but enough to add a unique and beautiful twist to a gourmande. Sadly this does not last very long on the skin, perhaps because I have a dabber sample and not a spray. Other than its weak longevity, it is a beautiful delicate fragrance.

LOVE LOVE LOVE clean, light, and sweet. creamy sugared lilac. a floral for gourmand lovers. picture: a perfect spring day - you took an everything shower, you're wearing your favorite outfit. drinking an over priced latte and holding a bouquet of equally overpriced flowers. your makeup turned out just right and you're having a good hair day. you found your holy grail thrift find, its sunny and 75 degrees. you got a sweet treat before going home.

marzipan, rhubarb, lilac, in that order. the rhubarb reads very cherry-like in combination with the almond, it’s a delicious tartness you get when you first spray it. after a few hours that tartness starts to fade and it becomes a sweet, warm lilac and almond. i get lots of compliments on this fragrance, it projects well to those within a few feet of you but isn’t overwhelming, and lasts on the skin for 7+ hours in varying degrees of intensity

The top notes in this chase each other around in a breathless circle for the first hour or couple hours on skin. First it’s an absolutely delectable almond marzipan, then cool lilac, and then black almost tarry smoke. And round and round again. It’s wild. Finally these notes churn enough and mix together, along with rhubarb, to create a tart fruit tart. Yep. I like it, it’s fun to wear, I just don’t know if I’d ever buy it because you don’t know what you’re going to get from one moment to the next. Lilac Brûlée lasts 5-6 hours on skin and casts a moderate scent bubble, people close to you will smell it.

first impressions: i agree that the marzipan is forward. so, yes it's caramelized dessert and floral and justasmidge fruity. the lilac does get a little washed out in the dry down:( i caught just the vanilla and whip cream sometimes, sort of like you're standing next to a pretty girl who's baking edit: after wearing this more it's like a film that shifts in the light... it's marzipan and lilac, but sometimes it's also cherry and smoke

Feminine, decadent, and addictive. This is a sophisticated floral confection that re-imagines lilac as a rich dessert. The creamy, nutty marzipan base makes the lilac feel velvety and edible without losing its floral integrity. Most prominent notes on my skin: lilac and marzipan. Smells Like: Lilac blossoms dipped in almond sugar and heavy cream; a sophisticated floral pastry.

Really beautiful milky sweet lilac scent. The milkiness is reminiscent of Hilde Soliani scents like Orgasmo or Crema di Latte. Light, comforting, feminine. The lilac is not indolic or too overly powdery - it smells like actual sweet petals. The marzipan reads like sweet cherry. Performance is incredibly poor. Zero sillage and only lasts ~2-3 hours on clothes.

You just broke a jar of cinnamon while baking—but it’s one of those cutesy Lenox spice village ones. The windows are open and someone is chain smoking outside. Maybe it’s June, the lilacs are in bloom and there's a light breeze. So it's all fine.

Really pretty sugared lilac - love the creaminess. Perfect for sipping a latte and reading a book

I have to preface this by saying I do not prefer gourmands. I do, however, love lilac, so I really wanted to try this one. Unfortunately, the lilac did not come through at the start. The rhubarb was very acidic on my skin, verging on sour. That acidity sat on top of the cookie accord for a long time. And when I say cookie, I mean an almond cookie with almond frosting and almonds on top. It was sweet, sweet marzipan, and that sweetness was cloying to me, personally. The dry down became much more pleasant. The vanilla began to shine with the patchouli, and I finally felt like I could smell some of that lilac coming through. In the end, it became a very familiar scent. Like a lotion or candle from long ago that you will never remember the name of. I do think it is a vanilla almond scent before it is a lilac scent, and for that reason, it wasn't a win for me. But it's definitely a win for someone out there!

Man, I really wanted to like this one! When I heard of Lilac Brulee, I wanted to try it because it sounded exactly what I wanted: a sweet mixed with a flower. My favorite Bath & Body Works candle that I adored in college was Lavender Marshmallow, so I was hoping for the same kind of vibe with this perfume. Plus, I love lilac. My grandma had some in her yard growing up so it smells like the summers of my youth. When I sniffed the bottle, (sample size) I was immediately reminded of Lavender Marshmallow! However, once I put it on my skin, it immediately turned into something powdery.. and smoky??? I don't get lilac and I don't get sweet. :( I guess it's the sandalwood and cedar, they are just way too strong. I wanted the first half of the notes, but instead I got none of that and just the bottom half. Too bad.

This is mainly a marzipan fragrance. I was hoping for a Lilac + Whipped Cream floral-gourmand delight but that's not what this is. I do enjoy marzipan, but this smells like a cheaper marzipan fragrance, something I've smelled similar from cheaper indie brands - and TK Almond Tart. It's not a refined marzipan like I was expecting for the price per ml that this costs. Very disappointed. The opening few seconds starts off so promising too, but it quickly just becomes "bleh". So I am still on the hunt for a lilac floral-gourmand. Amouage is a bit too floral - almost "old school floral" even, though I still enjoy that one*, but I feel there's still a void to be filled.

I'm wearing this from a sample today. This is an interesting one--not really what I expected. In the opening, I get a heavy dose of perfumer's alcohol mixed with lilac and ashtray. The ashtray note does eventually fade away, thankfully. The alcohol never goes away completely. In the drydown, it gives it a slightly boozy feel. It gets sweeter and less floral throughout the wear. In the deep drydown, it could be Sharaf Blend's weaker cousin for warm weather. (Sharaf Blend is a feminine-leaning ME dupe for Angle's Share, and it is a beast.) This isn't bad, but I won't be buying a bottle. I wanted something that spoke lilac from start to finish.

Like a fancy little dessert. I love the marzipan and get the light florals. The rhubarb is present and adds tang. But there's an odd smokiness to it that I can't place. It's like smoke without the smoke. As if you are smelling the burnt wick of a candle. This was not something that I got in the blotter. Intentional? Weird skin chemistry? It's not what I expected. Oddly dark and bewitching for a sweet gourmand. Settles to a soft vanilla.

she's cute.. honestly smells like rhubarb pie w woodchucks. the rhubarb in this is so strong n u would think with a name like lilac brulee.. it would smell like lilacs but it doesn't! after a while the marzipan fades out n ur left with woody-ish rhubarb. i genuinely expected a lilac dessert n instead got fruit n some wood. i feel deceived and lied to! but it doesn't smell bad, just not what i wanted :/

I've been hunting for a unique lilac perfume. Lilac Brulee had a great concept but disappointing reality. It could be called torched sugar lilac. The lilac doesn't last long - 15 to 30 minutes. The burnt sugar lasted at least 6 hours. There's a little caramelized sugar and creamy-ness but the burnt sugar dominates on me. If the lilac had more staying power this could have been a winner.

First seconds it is smth burnt, i guess it should be burnt sugar but it is overburnt if so. In the next couple of seconds it gives a gourmand vibe and straight away you're smelling cherry accord, almondy one, the same as in Tom Ford Lost Cherry. Generic. And no lilac.

this smells like a B- if that makes sense. it's soo close to being good but so far. i loved the idea of a floral gourmand but i think the lilac isn't saving space for the rest of the notes. the drydown is nice but the opening is a tad sharp
