Soft Focus

My new favorite hot weather fragrance, especially for daytime/casual occasions. Fzotic suggests it's well-suited for sitting by the pool, and that's definitely the sort of vibe I get. Tropical, breezy, and overall laid-back/lighthearted, but not without depth, and clearly high-quality. I thought the guava-heavy opening might lean a bit too fruity/sweet (if not strictly feminine) for me, but it's not cloying or synthetic at all. The guava and lime are very clear, almost photorealistic, but super smooth and accessible. The marine and sandalwood notes take over relatively quickly, but a subtle tropicality and sweetness from the opening stick around for a while as well. I find the sillage good, not incredible - but I mostly reach for this on especially hot days, when I don't really want a fragrance that projects like crazy anyway. Some unisex fragrances seem to avoid overtly masculine or feminine notes altogether, which can certainly work. But I tend to find them less intriguing than fragrances that blend masculine and feminine notes in such a way that neither side overpowers the other. If done well, that approach can create a versatile scent that leaves more room for context - i.e., the wearer themself plays a larger role in how I experience the fragrance - which I really like. Soft Focus definitely falls into that second category.

Fantastic little lowkey spring/summer scent! I blind bought based on the note breakdown (which I would NEVER suggest doing with an indie niche...) and oh man, what a joy! Soft Focus is not a strong belter of a tropical fragrance like Erba Pura and God of Fire. Its much quieter, making it perfect for daily wear. Would be great layered and on its own. The smell is still something Im trying to wrap my head around. Bruno kind of nailed the pool accord which I think is just fascinating. This smells like a margarita at a pool party. Fruity, woodsy, aquatic (but not ocean aquatic), with a touch of spice and leather to round it out. The guava, lime, and woods are the main players here, and then also so is that pool accord. Now when I say pool accord, no it does not smell like chlorine. It just smells like a pool... Idk how to explain it! But it is still perfectly wearable. This fragrance reminds me of that one scene of the graduate where he is floating on the pool tube just kinda chillin. The vibe is laid back and relaxed, but the character has a lot of depth and nuance to it. 6-8 hours longevity, medium to soft projection, pretty strong sillage. A great one to try for those looking for a unique tropical scent interesting enough to attract compliments but also quiet enough for daily wear in high heat and humidity. Icicle Approved 👍

This perfume is really something! That initial burst of lime and pineapple right at the beginning is so beautiful, just the perfect thing for summer. For me personally, I've noticed that this perfume dries down differently depending on what I'm doing (walking around outside vs. sitting at my desk in my office). Outside in the sunshine the fruitiness definitely fades and leaves behind a really nice salty woodiness, but when I'm just sitting at my desk, the fruity smell definitely sticks around longer, and the citrus kinda makes me mouth water when I'm just sitting inside. So probably not an ideal scent for the office on that basis alone, but it really is perfect for like a beach vacation or just a day in the sun :-)

So glad I purchased. Do yourself a favor and try... It is very well blended and the quality is evident. It starts out with a realistic Pineapple and Guava opening with a touch of lime. There is also Hot Pepper listed on Fzotic, but it is very reserved. The drydown lets the Sandalwood and Leather/Suede enter in. Classy and tasteful while still leaving a noticeable trail. Well done, not at all linear.

a sparkling and musky fresh fruity cocktail with guava and pineapple ofc as the prominent fruits here. Has a touch of some salty beachiness to it with a dry woodiness and a lightly leather dry down. Blends some darker and more heavy notes with such brightly summery ones in a way that just works. A cocktail fragrance but done in a very intentional way with a masculine edge

yknow, maybe I'm just weird, but I tested this without checking the notes first, and thought it was some kind of fall floral scent. It's absolutely delicious but the guava/pineapple transform into this lovely warm cozy flower scent to me??? It smells like the type of thing your art teacher would wear if that helps. smells like a lovely september day. 11/10

Smells like a swim up bar at an all inclusive resort. Bursting with juicy guava at the opening evokes the feeling of drinking a fruity little cocktail where the dry down later feels like the bonfire on the beach after the sun goes down. This is an amazing fragrance.

I was so excited for this fragrance but unfortunately the lime goes really bitter and dirty and sharp (in a bad way) on my skin. The dry down is a lovely sandalwood for me. It smelled great on paper so I would def recommend people to give it a try!!!

Like a negroni with fresh orange peel on a summer afternoon. Citrus without being cloying or harsh. All fzotic perfumes ive tried have this musky, animalic dry down that makes them so sexy. Becoming obsessed with this house

This is amazing. It’s beachy, solar, and briny with some sweet woodsy notes and at the end has an animalic note that reminds me of skin after having a dip in the ocean

Edit: Below is the original. After a few uses I can now say it’s a lovely curiosity. I understand now suggestions of floral connotations and also comparisons to Salted Green Mango though that’s very much gourmand. This is a smooth earthy suede with a hint of fruity/floral sweetness and sandalwood. Not sure if it still would be a professional scent but rather more of a personal intimate scent, none the less it’s going to be a keeper Original: I blind bought this being a Bruno Fazzolari fan. Well, wow. I’m sure how I feel about this one. Five Eau, Ummagumma - totally rock - at the top of my 400 or so bottles. Then there’s Lampblack, Monserrat and Corpse Reviver - lovely well constructed distractions but not really appropriate for daily use. This is in between. It’s all weird - it’s the only perfume I know that works on two levels simultaneously. The Guava and citrus opening wafts for maybe two hours almost like a seperate entity to the rest of the perfume. After that it settles down and maybe the guava is still there as a deeper darker fleshy pinch on top of what has become a super smooth leathery feel with some salt rubbed in. It flits between a gourmand presence, a woody and leathery impression. Calling it salty nor aquatic is not appropriate - leather? Well sort of - woody mmm naa- my brain at this point still thinks it’s like a guava kurnell- something slightly earthy with a hint of fruitiness maybe over some sort of woody/leathery broth if there is such a thing. It’s quite interesting - I will have to update this. I just can’t make up my mind as to whether this is genius and appropriately wearable or whether this is a novelty. I’ll let you know...

Very lipbalmy. It has some of the tropical notes from the guava and pineapple, but they stay muted by the driftwood and sandalwood note. Its a great fragrance, as long as you expect a low projection scent that's dynamic.

Fruity lip balm mixed with salty upper lip sweat. Really sexy perfume, a steamy summer makeout by a resort pool

Mostly this is a light, classic cologne, with, yes, the barest floaty aura of something tropical-fruity, but mostly crisp abstract zippiness. It does feel bright and summery, with a faint edge of dry driftwood underneath. A few minutes in, the tropical fruit becomes tender and even a bit floral (but never quite sweet) and I find it affecting. You’re at the beach under a bougainvillea tree or something. You have a fruity cocktail. it’s vacay time. “Beach vacation” scents are great if you don’t screw em up – and too many perfumes do, with harsh overdoses of “aquatic” aromachemicals or faketastic fruit or cloying coconut. Soft Focus avoids all the pitfalls and just stays fresh, pretty, and joyful. A bit feminine-of-center.

Alright, this might be a unique take but I truly believe this is one of the greatest summer fragrances of all time. It just checks so many boxes. The lime and guava hit you right off the bat, and combine to create this accord that reminds me of a juice/smoothie bar- in sort of a sexy way. While it’s not listed as an official note, Bruno often lists coconut as a note in his descriptions of the scent, and this is what pops out next for me personally, before winding down with that salty leather wood accord that is just magical. I will continue to say this: SAMPLE EVERYTHING FROM THIS HOUSE! Both in the sense that nothing it quite blind buy safe, but also because Bruno is a genius, and his perfumes are some of the best artistry on the scene. This is a very unique summer scent that I believe could be worn by anyone. I love that Bruno is always making something new, and no two of his fragrances are really alike. Side note, there was a bad batch of this sometime in late 2025. After speaking with Bruno, he believes the batch was exposed to high heat. This resulted in a much more astringent lime, and amplified “salty” note. I did not care for this at the time, but I just received my free replacement bottle and it smells just like the sample I fell in love with. 9/10

This fragrance moves FAST. I mean like, 120 seconds of fruitiness before you're in for another 120 seconds of woods before you're settling on strong, obvious leather. If you like a clear, summery leather fragrance, this one is a lovely journey on it's way there, but the journey is a quick one!

Picked up a sample and wow. Back when it was available I was a huge fan of Coconut Lime Verbana (body wash, lotion, etc). This isn't one-to-one but if you enjoyed that, you will LOVE this! I will definitely be picking up a full bottle of this
