No. III Swim

I really like the scent on this one - it opens with a stemmy green galbanum balanced with the green fig, with a bit of blackcurrant contributing a sourness. It stays pretty linear through most of the wear, with maybe a bit of green tea and orris joining, and seems to settle to more of a traditional cologney type scent (although not overly masculine or stereotypical). My main gripe with this scent is that I get none of the base notes and it lacks in both projection and longevity. I would absolutely buy a full bottle if it lasted longer and had a bit more oomph. For a decent standard of comparison, I'd say this smells halfway between Philosykos and Eau de Lierre by Diptyque.

Gabar III Swim is an incredibly photorealistic fragrance that instantly transports me to a summer afternoon by the pools at the tail end of a reservoir. I can almost feel myself surrounded by lush oleanders and fig trees, with the cool river water flowing gently as the sun slowly sets. It perfectly captures the serenity and wild beauty of nature in a single bottle. Truly a masterpiece.

This is my signature scent! It's the coolness of the outdoor summer pool in the afternoon and the ripe fig tree swaying in the light breeze above it. It's deeply sweet and green and aromatic and yet wears human and somehow powdery on the skin in the dry down. I love it and my husband loves it and I can't wait for spring and summer to roll around, because that's when it really sings.

Oooooo I knew I would love this one- green fig meets green tea- definitely an emphasis on the GREEN going on here but the drydown is subtly sweet and musky with a hint of white florals. I might come back for a full bottle of this one in the summer- Swim is super refreshing, reminds me of fresh dew on leaves in a tropical rainforest.

the opening is pretty sharp but after a few minutes yhis fragrance is starting to smell soo incredible, green, dewy, watery, herbal. this is exactly what i wanted philosykos to be. the fig and green tea in this fragrance are so incredibly made.

On spraying the sample on a strip of paper, it did nothing for me. But on skin....I could not stop smelling myself. The opening is perfectly green, and mellows out into a soothing fig tea. Instantly bought a full bottle.

Love the story behind this scent. Love the scent too. Figs and cedar, hints of musk and amber. Very nice, very subtle.

VERY green opening that dries down to a creamier fig, a very intesersting scent profile for people who like perfumes, maybe less commercial appeal because of the opening. Reminds me a lot of philosykos, but a bit longer lasting/with a wider sillage. I will say that there were some points where it felt mildly sickly because the scent profile felt quite rounded, but I find that a lot with most fig perfumes on my skin, and I still love them.

hate the opening as the black currant is the typical way too green, sharp, and bitter note that it tends to be for my nose, however letting the scent develop allows it to blossom! It’s a gorgeous medley of a leafy green and fresh fig paired with dry & aromatic black tea, on a bed of warm and dry cedarwood. The dry down is lovely, just wish the opening wasn’t so abrasive.

Writing this review from trying the whole original collection (only three fragrances, that is), from a local store, and this was clearly a favourite, although I thought they were all worth trying out, and interesting in their own right. I think this is the most 'mass-appealing'. A niche fig, it's a little bit unusual, and equally lovely. It is centered around the fig, but I don't think it takes over the whole composition. The composition remains 'full-bodied'. It was really a joy to experience! Unfortunately, I can't really go into much detail. It was quite fresh, very green, very easy to like. Tea-floral-green. The tea stood out, making it very soft and round. I love tea. How can anyone not love a soft green tea? Goes without saying, highly recommended if you like greens, tea, fig, etc. I can see some resemblance to the new Virēre from Aesop. Although, in my opinion, this is just a little bit nicer.

Very green and well-blended, wild and untamed fig, too sharp and crisp/sour for me personally with the galbanum but nice for others possibly. I don’t understand how the first reviewer below described this as ‘subtle’? Maybe my nose is much more sensitive than theirs. Smelling this reminds me of foraging through the undergrowth and tangle of vines in a dense Amazonian jungle🎋 It isn’t aquatic enough to deserve the name ‘Swim’. On some level this smells similar to the greenness in Miller Harris’s “Wander Through the Parks” which has cassis leaf, nettle, and fig but that one is tamer and just reminds you of a park overgrown with weeds or a community garden. 🪴

This is by far my favorite from the house of Gabar as well as possibly favorite in the fresh/green fig genre. Snapping greenery underfoot and a fruiting tree nearby. Looking at the note breakdown, I knew that I would love this. Some of my favorite notes include: Tea, orris, galbabum, fig, patchouli, jasmine, cedar... And the currant bud note brings a welcome fresh/fruity spice. If you're a fig girlie, this is worth seeking out for the warmer months. Not saying these are the same in any way, but if any of these fragrances appeal to you, then this one might as well: The Noir 29 from Le Labo, Aphelie from Trvdon, Monstera from Xinu, Purple Fig from Vilhelm.

"Wow" .... that's how you sound like when you smell this gorgeous opening !! Very heavy on the galbanum. It gives an uplifting sensation that match so well the marketing around the perfume (flow state creativity) The dry down is also interesting with a balanced mix of fig and green tea, that slowly fades away to let the musc takes the lead. Refreshing, cosy and orignal scent profile. Sadly I was looking for a true green/garden perfume from the beginning to the end, and Swim only gives that for 15/20 minutes. Not what I was looking for but now that I know how much a green opening can be impacting... I Will be intransigent with my future tests !

Omg I think I want this???? It smelled like a photorealistic fig scent and also the least sweet tea scent I’ve ever had but damn on my skin it was soooo jasmine....im sad. Maybe I could spray it on my clothes?? Ugh noooooo search for an actually fresh fig scent and not sweet tea scent continues

FINALLY I got my samples in this week. Was so excited! This is a beautiful well blended green and fig scent. It is fruity, it is crisp, it is fresh, it is green, very uplifting but also cosy. Well done. Question is: do I really need another fig scent in my collection? Answer is: YES

I think the brand makes "safe" perfumes, but very good ones. This one is very heavy on galbanum, followed by fig; green, fruity foodness. In the dry down, I'm not actually getting cedar. For me, it's the two big players mentioned above, plus amber. Very likeable scent.

Like Philosykos but sharper, greener, and more Herbal. The green notes lean a little masculine on me, where as in Philosykos the green notes lean sweet and feminine. There is a mintyness in the heart that reminds me of Snowy Owl from Zoologist.

I love this! I am trying to smell samples of fig scents to find the one and this one may be up there. Opening is very sharp, but it settles into a very smooth fig. P.s. this is so good layered with l’eau papier.

I like this but it smells like a mens blue body wash to me. I wouldn’t mind it on my boyfriend. :)
