Delicious Cotton Candy

I'm so glad I gave Gale Hayman's "Delicious Cotton Candy (DCC)" a chance. I'd decided against getting it because of the countless reviews that say it smells like Pink Sugar (I already have it and other Aquolina scents). I bought the DCC body mist so I can layer it with PS or some other scent with complimentary notes. I can affirm that it's strikingly similar to Pink Sugar (I absolutely love both). PS has the noticeable burnt sugar and licorice notes that are not as prominent in DCC. Both have that blast of cotton candy that can go on very strong, cloying, and headache-inducing if a heavy hand is used. I've heard both men and women complain about an overpowering stench of cotton candy on a lot of women, and this is because many use a heavy hand. DCC and PS can be deceiving. Given that they (especially DCC) have poor sillage, many over spray or reapply more than is necessary, without realizing they have become anosmic. They can't smell the fragrance, but everyone (including those two cities over) can smell their fragrance. From a distance they smell great, once they are in close proximity, it all becomes a nauseating mess. So please be super-conservative with these types of sweet scents, especially those that feature cotton candy. When lightly spritzed on pulse points and clothing, DCC dries down to a clean, creamy, juicy, sweet smell that is reminiscent of candy or cakes. I cannot stop smelling my wrist whenever I use DCC, which smells even better on clothing. You absolutely have to let this frag dry down before going around other people, so as not to overwhelm them. Do NOT spray this at your desk (or in the restroom and then immediately run back to your desk). Anyone sensitive to perfume or who hates cotton candy will be very displeased. If you allow it to dry down, the compliments will be endless (at least in my case they are). Most people will ask what after the delicious smell like cake or candy. With some weirder ones saying they just want to hug you or feel like nibbling on you. No thanks, stranger, but I get it. It's just a warm, enticing, pleasant scent that will naturally draw people to you. For those complaining about a somewhat chemical scent that seems to be present on them but not others-- I guess your best bet (if you love the scent) would be to strictly use it on your top, because that sour/chemical situation definitely has to do with your body chemistry and the combination of notes just not working for you. More importantly, go for the mist rather than the EDT, since the mist isn't as long-lasting and therefore won't be as strong as the EDT. Lightly spritz your top (not anywhere near your neck, since that chemical scent will hit you in your face as your neck warms up). If nothing else, you can absolutely use this fragrance as a room freshener or to lightly spritz your sheets for a lovely night's sleep. I highly favor and only reach for sweet scents during the winter, especially when January rolls in, and rarely ever use this type of scent in humid/hot summer weather. It has the capacity to become cloying and disgustingly sweet. I have found that DCC and PS are such mood-boosters, especially in this Midwestern winter which can be gloomy, and quite frankly, depressing. If you like DCC and PS but don't care for the cotton candy or licorice notes, these are other scents you can try in the sweet category: 1) Animale Love by Animale (also quite similar to PS but without burnt sugar and licorice notes. I huge, huge love for me). 2) Sugar Berry by Good Chemistry 3) Fantasy by Britney Spears 4) Sweet Crush by Body Fantasies 5) Sweet Seduction by Bodycology (huge love as well) 6) Sweet Sunrise by Body Fantasies 7) Tempting Paradise by Sofia Vergara (this one has tropical fruits and coconut in it so it's a different kind of sweet). I am very pleased with DCC and can see it being a repurchase.

Oh my god! Where do I start with this lovely fragrance. Its cotton candy vanilla sweet heaven. This is definitely a gourmand scent. I am a gourmand scent woman I have to have my sweet scents. Those are my go-to fragrances. I get so many compliments on this fragrance is unreal. Everywhere I go people are telling me "you smell like cotton candy, you smell so sweet, you smell so yummy, what are you wearing?". This makes me feel so good and this is not one of those teenager Kiddy cotton candy fragrances. Like the body fantasy cotton candy spray. This is a grown woman sexy, vanilla, cotton candy, sweet, sugary, luscious goodness. I would disagree with anybody who says this scent smells childlike or teenagerish. I purchased a bottle of this because, I read that it smelled very similar to the Aquolina pink sugar. It's far less expensive than Aquolina Pink Sugar and not only that. It doesn't have that burn licorice note in it.This is far better than the Pink Sugar for that very reason.It's very long lasting considering its price which was a shock and even more of a plus. I purchased a bottle from Ross for $12.99. I have finished that bottle and on my second bottle this bottle. I purchased a gift set for $16.99 at Burlington Coat Factory. The gift set includes a body wash,lotion and the perfume. Layering this fragrance makes it smell even more beautiful and long lasting. The main notes I smell are cotton candy of course, vanilla, and powder notes. This fragrance is cheap priced but packs a huge punch and it lasts a very long on your skin. It is June almost July and this fragrance lingers and smells so good in the summer heat. I wear it everyday this is my signature scent. If only they had a body spray oh my goodness . I would recommend this for any season. But it's working perfectly for me this summer . I'm finishing up my second bottle and will be purchasing my third bottle soon. Sexy sweet fragrance that I would recommend. This is the grown women cotton candy fragrance.

GORGEOUS. For the first time ever, my experience surpassed the reviews I had read. I wanted to try a Gale Hayman fragrance for a very long time. Coincidentally, I also wanted to find a fragrance similar to Shawn Mendes' signature (the one in the clear green bottle). I found Delicious online for a reasonable price and decided to get myself another undeserved present. The bottle is adorable! I love the cap, always have. In fact, this is exactly what drew me in. It is definitely eye-catching. My panther is quite detailed just like the one in the above picture. The scent itself is sugar combined with citruses and some bitterness which I believe comes from the fig leaf. I am obviously not a professional when it comes to fragrances but I am sooo glad it does not smell like pure cotton candy. I like my sweet scents mixed with musk, flowers, and/or fruit etc. When it sits on the skin for a few hours, it gets more bitter, in my opinion, due to the bergamot. The strawberry note also makes an appearance. Longevity is amazing! I was worried it would fade away quickly but it lasts several hours. In fact, I kept getting whiffs of it in the evening when I applied it in the morning. One touch-up is enough to get you throughout the day. I sprayed some on my overalls and could still smell it 2 days later! It has an interesting list of notes. I assumed the sweet ones would be too prominent but this is not the case! It is not one-dimensional at all. Incredibly successful blind buy! Absolute love! I may try Pink Sugar next time.

I really love this scent. When I first saw the bottle?!? I thought that no way could this smell good. I was wrong putting the top aside both literally and figurativly. This is different from Pink Sugar. This is delish and one of my favorite cool weather perfumes. To me this is more cotton candy, vanilla, musk, caramel, and I do get some berries. Oh course sugar because this is obviously on the sweet side. But it's not sickly sweet for me at all. I love the dry down because of the vanilla. I smell all throughout this but once its settled. I just want to keep sniffing my wrist. On the skin this smells like vanilla, musk, and caramel which I love. On the initial spray the cotton candy has vanilla undertones. Plus with the berries I really like it. Now that it's getting cooler in NY I like to wear this. I get compliments on it, in fact more than when I wear Pink Sugar. So for me this one does not come off as "young". I'm 43 and I get compliments from men and women. The only thing I tell people is ignore the top. Plus after a few sprits the nozzle doesn't smell like plastic. The top does air out. As another reviewer kindly pointed out how to get rid of the smell. The longevity is excellent and the sillage is a touch over moderate. The price is beyond awesome and I saw a body spray that's inexpensive. I didn't know they had that so I would like to get that in the future. :)

Well, well, well...Finally received this today after waiting impatiently for three weeks for my order. Thanking everyone who warned new buyers that the cap smells bad. (I have it soaking in a solution of vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda, if that doesn't get the smell out, nothing will.) I really really like it. It smells like cotton candy but a grown up. Should pair so well with my beloved Body Fantasies Cotton candy. I smell citrus and musk and delicious caramel. I only used a few sprays of this and it's been about 6 hours. The men at work keep commenting that it smells 'so good' and 'delicious' when they walk past my desk so the longevity and silage must be good. I can still smell it on my wrist now, in fact I have been sniffing myself on and off for hours, it smells that good. I ordered off Perfumania and it came with three free samples! Best $15 USD I've spent on perfume this year. Ladies (and gentlemen? I caught a guy in the locker area at work dousing himself in Body Fantasies Cotton Candy spray he stole from his wife), get this if you love sugary sweet cotton candy smells. This one is a winner! Edit: August 10th This seriously has the strength of an EDP! Lasted sixteen hours and a couple of hand washing sessions. Loving it!
