Gaiac Precieux

Best of the collection for me. It has something more than the rest, which I found lacking of interest/intensity. This one packs a punch! A lot of cumin, especially in the opening, it's sharp, but not BO-ish thanks to the honey and the violet which make it slightly sweet-powdery. Linear but it is really well blended and with great performance, you can smell a bit of all the notes listed. The drydown is really good with the Cumin and Honey laying on a bed of warm musks, there is even a slight clean Oud smell, not listed but maybe coming from the Cedar/Sandalwood/Guaiac wood. This is a great, unisex, daring and unique juice. Perfect for Winter and Fall, this is a "sexy and a bit dirty" type of scent . The Profile reminds me a little of Musc Ravageur from Frédéric Malle.

This is a last fragrance from this line that I’m trying. The whole line is quite disappointing, feels very outdated and not very well formulated. It is the same case with this scent - from the opening till the dry down, this is an overpowering mess, where the wood, musk and cumin can’t find the way to communicated with each other and they are instantly fighting for the attention of your nose. If you like busy perfumes, you might be happier with it than I was.

Be warned—this is a cumin bomb. I hate to be harsh, but this smells as though a tree has BO. I had a sample vial and I had to pour it down the sink, which was a mistake as even a day later the sink still stank of this woody, stinky scent. This entire collection needs to be overhauled.

Whoah, this is the fifth of a seven perfume discovery set from Galimard that I'm testing, and this is my first review of the lot because of the impact it made. *Edit: Good to see the entire set of 7 finally listed on this site! Will be coming back to review the rest whilst the weather is still nice & cool enough to wear some of these scents... By impact, I mean a spicy woody punch straight into your nostrils, which then dries down to a powdery musky dry wood aroma. My sister said I smell like talcum powder. Definitely not a safe blind buy, has a challenging niche kind of profile, there's nothing fresh & not much sweet about this. I think the violet honey vanilla are just there enough to smooth off what might otherwise be a too harshly spiced animalic leather from the heavy cumin & guaiac wood notes. You'd need a strong character personality to pull this one off well. A firm handshake kinda guy, well spoken, well groomed, attention to detail, worldly knowledgeable, not afraid to challenge an opinion but with the conviction & confidence to back it.
