Ma Faute

I ordered the 12 piece sample pack and Ma Faute was by far my favorite. Longevity was excellent (all day fragrance), and what I remember most was the dry down, which was raspy and resinous on me. I savored my sample and made it last for as long as possible. I"m surprised to see this as a floral green (which is my favorite genre); at the time I thought it was an oriental floral, I remember it opening darker than these top notes would suggest. This has Caron quality, IMO, and is absolultely something I would recommend. I"m just waiting for some space to clear up on my shelf so I can add this one.

Opening resembles so much Narciso Rodriguez for Her that I started to ask myself if I should go for it and buy a scent similar to one of my favourites. Wonder too, which year was it created, I believe that NR for Her was the first. So why to bother buying something which is - bear with me - a copy? Or maybe I am wrong about the total resemblance and also hastily unfair, but since Galimard scents are so difficult to be obtained outside France with no official distributors in other countries, I most probably will not bother to come back for further tests.

I reviewed this 11 years ago and just now bought it. Galimard no longer produces this gem, so grab it while you can. I recommend letting this 'air' for a few spritzes before forming your opinion; the composition needs to breathe. But this is truly one of my favorite floral greens of all time.

I hope more people would be familiar with this scent. Ma Faute is perfect for winter. It lasts and lasts. I always spray on my torso and within 12 hours, it evolves into this super sexy etheral smell. This is definitely a substitute for Narciso for Her edp. Enjoy!

This is so unique and lovely! Never in a million years did I think that I would like a fragrance in the "Floral-Green" category (I usually prefer Oriental Vanilla or Gourmands) but Ma Faute is sweeter and darker than you would think. I agree with the first reviewer- there's something sticky, smoky, and sweet like resin in this perfume but nothing of the kind is listed in the notes. It must be the vanilla, then, but it blends with the other notes in this perfume in a much more distinctive way than a lot of other vanillas out there. I actually like this fragrance a lot more than Accroche Coeur, which I thought would be my favorite based on the notes but didn't appeal to me as much as I had anticipated. This would be a nice fragrance for special occasions and it's my 3rd favorite Galimard perfume after Cantabelle and Si Tu Savais.

Absolute Innocence. A very light and modest yet persistent classic. I like it for its uplifting character..!

Galimard Ma Faute is a pretty true lily-of-the-valley scent. I'd expected this to be a more summery scent due to the citrus top notes, but those disappear rapidly so it feels like a true spring scent. Right in the midst of winter, smelling spring is very uplifting, even moreso now currently the temperatures outside are unseasonally mild, you'd almost think spring is just around the corner... NOT! (it is only Dec 24) Drydown is supposed to have more patchouli, which makes it suitable for wearing in the midst of winter. Feeling happy! PS: several months later, the love turned into a big dislike and years later (2017) it just got worse.. disliking the shreeky opening and abhor the patchouli drydown.. glad I'll get rid of it soon! Just goes on to show how fickle a human being can be.. plus how much of a difference the time of year makes. A love in winter because it reminds you of spring, turns into a dislike when spring is at your doorstep already!

Ma Faute is undoubtedly one of my favorite Galimard perfumes and although it's quite a subtly beautiful scent, that beauty is nonetheless exquisitely seductive. This fragrance starts off sharply with bergamot filling the first spray. The opening is far more citric than green. As it dries down, the lily of the valley and the jasmine enter into the spotlight, and they remain in the lead roles until the perfume fades. The dry down is very light, airy and sweet. It almost has a *candy* type smell to it. Vanilla and patchouli lay just beneath the surface, lending a sweetness and earthiness (respectively) to the scent. There is a slight muskiness in the dry down, but it's not heavy at all. The dry down here is a little reminiscent of the dry down of ELDO's Don't Get Me Wrong Baby. Probably because of the lily of the valley/jasmine/patchouli combination. But I think that if you like that perfume, then this one is definitely worth a try. Other reviewers have called this perfume dark, but I don't find it dark. It is sexy and alluring, but it also has an airy feel to it...it's not heavy or overly imposing, despite it's floriental feel. I've been impressed with the lasting power of Galimard's scents in general, and this one is no exception. It lasts 6+ hours on my skin, and while it doesn't boast super sillage, it holds it own. I find the name quite interesting to this fragrance - "Ma Faute". I'm not quite sure what it blames itself for. However, in my case, it is definitely its fault for being so gorgeous and making me fall deeply in love with it. And I do love it from start to finish. 9/10 from me for this scent.

i got this on a trip to grasse where Galimard, next to Molinard were the biggest and most traditional shops, and boy am i glad i chose this. Molinard you see everywhere, but Galimard is a truly underrated and well kept secret. Ma Faute especially is so so painfully beautiful, I can see why other reviews call it dark, because of its haunting ethereal beauty. It's a very musky lily, that blends in perfectly with your skin. There's nothing powdery about it, it just smells like your skin was always meant to smell. It's my favourite (out of a hundred perfumes) bedtime scent. I would wear this every night if only it wasn't already discontinued. Alas, I will be treasuring every drop of my remaining bottle, and will wait for the day I get to travel there again and request for a remake of this formulation.
