Shantoung

Shantoung is elegant, very unique, romantic and sensual. You will feel very special waering this fragrance! it is available in the USA at The Village Parfumery. FYI Galimard is the oldest Parfumery in France as it was started in 1747, so the info on the company is wrong. Lots of great fragrances; never smelled the men's line but I hear it is good.

2 years since my predecessor’s comment and fragrantica still hasn’t managed to correct the error, what a shame. :-( So for everybody interested in the real notes please see below the pyramid from the Galimard website. Top: Tangerine, apple, black pepper Heart: Almond, tuberose, ylang ylang Base: Sandalwood, white musk But now equally as important ;-) my review: Shantoung opens with pepper and apple (green?) that gently tickle my nose before the middle notes slowly take over. Maybe because of the almonds I’m thinking of Guerlain’s L'Homme Idéal and I’m wondering if Shantoung could work as a unisex fragrance. (Please note that I’m not saying S. smells anything like L’HI, it just made me think of it.) I feel I’m walking in a creamy light cloud and I’m glad that the musk remains modestly in the background and doesn’t turn this perfume into another boring woody-musky scent. Shantoung is a brilliant example of what can be achieved in the world of fragrance and as Dandy5 said, why it isn’t any more popular shall remain a mystery.

My wife wears this fragrance and of all the perfumes she owns (and their are many) this has to be my absolute favourite. I really don't understand why it is not more popular but then I suppose I wouldn't want to smell it on 100's of other women! This is a perfectly blended tuberose scent with hints of gourmand in the form of almond & cappuchino. It is warm, sexy, sensual & confident (just like my wife) and to boot it is incredibly reasonably priced. A perfect combination!!!

Notes described here differ from Galimard website. In addition to lack of jasmine and vanilla, there should be tangerine, apple, pepper,and almond.

I love love love this perfume! can anyone find a dupe for this? I can't find any bottles online :'(
