Emerald Rendezvous

Sampling Gallagher Fragrances Emerald Rendezvous, part of the Pearlescent collection, the latest release from the house, a bit of sharp, heady, citrus-and-herbs-led mix that I find quite striking in that it also has spicy and sweet aspects, inducing a bit of sensory overload but in a manner that’s pretty intriguing. The full note list offers a glimpse into the diverse, somewhat provocative ensemble: Spearmint, Bergamot, Rio Red Grapefruit, Orange Blossom, Patchouli, Pink Sugar, Ocean Zest, and Musk. It has a lot going on and I can appreciate what Daniel is going for. It has a versatile quality to it, as, even though I’m inclined to regard it as more of a warm-weather-friendly offering, it has the depth and density to be viable even on a winter day, I’d argue. As with other entries in the Pearlescent Collection by Gallagher Fragrances, this is extrait concentration and priced at $125 for 60, very reasonable in the current market. It performs quite well for a fragrance with fresh aspects, also, so I’d recommend checking it out. In the US, it’s sold via the house website as well as great boutiques like Perfumology and Olfactif. Overall, it’s not by any means one of my favorites from the line, but it’s at last good, and rather interesting, and unique. I continue to enjoy seeing what Daniel comes up with. The other most recent entry, Ginfinity, is a little easier to wear, but Emerald Rendezvous is a little more vexing. 6 out of 10

*Emerald Rendezvous* is more (way more) complex than I expected. By "expected" I don't mean when I read the notes; I mean when I first sprayed it. MINT (no surprise) shows itself first...it's lovely and refreshing. I can't (believe me, I tried) to pick apart the bergamot, grapefruit and orange blossom but they must be in there because there's more happening than just mint. It's mint....and other stuff; it doesn't come-off as mouthwash or chewing gum. Then.....change magically happens; that must be the rendezvous part. The minty coolness becomes.....warm? ....cozy? The scentsory experience becomes something entirely different. I'm seriously telling you....twenty minutes after I first sprayed myself...I sniffed and wondered what perfume I must have sprayed *after* I sprayed *Emerald Rendezvous* because I smelled something totally different. There are a lot of words in this review yet I don't believe they tell the whole story....you need to experience *Emerald Rendezvous* yourself....it's definitely a trip.....an *Emerald Rendezvous*.
