Midnight Jasmine

So this one started out as a like and slowly transitioned to a love. I'm a male and I found myself so intrigued by the use of jasmine in the fragrance. Typically my nose refers to Marc Jacobs and Elizabeth Taylor because their use of jasmine in fragrances is top tier in my opinion. This is yet another top tier use but in such a dramatically different way. The jasmine as it's used isn't just the flower but rather the whole plant. It's the green edges, it's the scent before it blooms, it's the indolic essence that lingers afters it died. All together gives this jasmine a complexity that makes it lean a bit more unisex and wearable for me as a man. I'm learning this brand enjoys juxtaposition. They take notes that are sweet, smooth and calming, combine them to evoke a boozy scent and combine it with a sharp and complex Jasmine that is completely the opposite. I enjoy the risk and exploration of this fragrance. This is great for cooler and cold weather. I could detect it on my skin around 6 hours with a strong arms length bubble for the first 2 hours. If this catches a breeze, it beautiful in the air.

Sexy, heady jasmine smeared with plum jam and drizzled with honey and served up with generous dash of a cinnamon sugar on a bed of roses... BLACK roses I might add because this scent is so decadent in its dark, syrupy, near-boozy sweetness and indolic to the point of carnality that it reads gothic. I am floral gourmand fanatic and this is quite bold and explicit in a way I don’t typically associate with floral gourmands. I love the subversive aspect. It is intoxicating and addictive. It makes my mouth water. Edginess aside, the cinnamon and preserved fruits make this a very appropriate choice for winter holiday festivities and December is easily is my favorite time of year to wear it. If anyone out there has been searching for the perfect gothic Christmas scent, look no further!

I love this. Yes, it is similar to Rose All Dae, but a bit softer and more floral with the added jasmine and toned down patchouli (which isn't listed here but is on the Gallagher website), and I think I enjoy Midnight Jasmine more. I had ordered samples of Midnight Jasmine, Rose All Dae, and some other scents, and ultimately decided to purchase RAD, and although I do enjoy that one, I sometimes wonder if I should have gotten MJ, but to also get MJ would be redundant, I think. But I do plan to order MJ in the future.

For me, this opens with a burst of delicious fruits mixed with strong cinnamon and some honey. It's really delicious. As it dries down I begin to get a little more of the florals, creating more of a powdery feel. The gourmand feel is still there, it's just toned down a bit by the floral notes. This leans feminine so I'm not sure if I'd ever wear it, though some men absolutely could. I would love to smell this on a woman though; it's a fragrance I want to keep smelling over over.

This fragrance is simply gorgeous. One of the best jasmine creations I know. The opening is distinctive, sweet, and deep. The sillage is strong and gradually becomes more intimate. The longevity is a few hours, during which the perfume definitely calms down while still remaining sweetly jasmine.

Brown sugar, plum, indolic (not overly so) jasmine in a flormand perfume. It doesn't feel as boozy as Rose All Day, but it's just as attractive and perfect cold weather, although I use it in warmer weather, just a bit less of it. A little goes a long way in the heat. This is a big love.

This one is rose all dae without the metallic note, a bit less boozy and a lot of Jasmine. If you like fragrances like L’Interdit, you’ll probably like this one! It’s dense, honeyed plum apple sweetness with Jasmine added. It comes off a little grape soda like sometimes but I love it!

This is easily be a flanker of Rose All Dae with prominent jasmine and honey notes. I actually prefer this, as it’s smoother, balanced and more wearable. Well done!

A jasmine charged Rose all Dae

The most recent release from Pearlescent Parfums, Midnight Jasmine, is a sweet white floral that really hits the sweet and floral balance well while not being too sharp or powdery. It pairs a lovely jasmine (and supporting rose) with an ensemble of sweet complements—apple, plum, pear, cinnamon, honey, brown sugar, tonka—and a base of amber, musk, and sandalwood. It lands pretty sweet overall, and I think that makes it more of a comforting and resolute fragrance, whereas something less sweet and borderline gourmand-like may seem more formal but more fleeting and (perhaps) sharp. And as implied, it performs very well, with a dense, rich, covering and seemingly pretty solid longevity, as with the other fragrances in the line. Scent-wise, Midnight Jasmine may be my favorite despite my love of gourmands like Baklava. This is an impressive release, though, and even though it’s a little more floral than what I usually wear, the arrangement of notes and overall product is very pleasing here. Midnight Jasmine has the same pricing and concentration as the other two offerings in the line (Aquarose and Baklava), $175 for 60ml in extrait de parfum concentration. To those that do not know, Pearlescent is a line launched by Daniel Gallagher of Gallagher Fragrances. 7 out of 10

Very sweet and bubblegummy jasmine. I can see the plum for sure, but altogether this is like if Lush’s Lust and Rose Jam had a baby. A smooth yet heavy, incensey baby. Definitely spicier and woodier than Lush if you inhale deeply, but the character you get from afar is very similar to me. After settling, the florals fall into the background and the incensey plummy wood really comes out on my skin. It becomes more antique wooden chest with the slight stink of ancient things.

I predominantly only smell floral notes. It is a Jasmine bomb, with a bit of plum and rose in the backend. Occasionally you can pick up on a few of the other notes, but those 3 are the only notes that consistently come to mind. I am not one who normally likes floral fragrances, but this is quite intoxicating. It also definitely leans more feminine, but I could see a confident man wearing this as well.

Agree with previous reviewers, it is just like Rose All Dae by Gallagher, with jasmine added. It would be a nice rich jasmine scent, but cinnamon ruins it for me... Not a fan of that combination. Thus if comparing similar scent, I much prefer Rose All Dae. The later actually has a bit better performance... Although both are super great in terms of performance.

This is just a muted version of Rose All Dae with a bit of jasmine (which comes across as tiare to me). I was hoping for a night-blooming jasmine scent, but I get more sickly sweet rose than jasmine in this.

Smells like an old Calvin Klein brew mixed with apricot. What I’m really smelling is driftwood, rose and aquatic notes. Had a makeup essence. Not good.

An indolic Jasmine with vanilla and plum. at moments it registers a bit like tuberose. Sweet.

The plum in this makes it incredibly boozey. I actually agree with the previous reviewer... this gives of the vibe of alcohol seeping through the pores of your skin. Imagine your skin is delectably sweet from your diet of rich dark plums and prunes... you've decided to deeply massage jasmine essential oils into that same skin as your fragrance for the day... finally, the smell of a deep brown booze begins to eek out of your pores. This fragrance is a lot to digest. The sillage is quite intriguing, but it does a bit too much up close. This smells nothing like Carolina Herrera Good Girl, but it gives me that same essence of white florals mixed with a bunch of warm gourmand notes. No matter how much the trail intoxicates me, I don't really like the prefer the smell on my skin. It's confusing, borderline annoying, suffocating and will probably be unpleasant to other women. Perhaps men will appreciate the smell on women. I imagine Midnight Jasmine is what Good Girl would smell like if it were mostly made from naturals (rather than the synthetic mess that it is) and niche/indie. Again, they do not smell alike, but I think some might understand what I'm trying to get at here... something about them is just... thick and messy. After having this on my arm, I kind of felt nauseous every time I smelled it (it persisted after my shower); however, the jasmine in this fragrance is quite nice.

Confusing concoction of syrupy sweet honey, apples, and plum on top a bed of jasmine and roses. No idea why they called it Midnight Jasmine though, the florals here are just minor supporting characters. It’s very strong and sickeningly sweet. Not at all what I was expecting. I think that there is just too much going on here for me. The individual notes get muddled in the dry down, and it is not pleasant. Sillage is nuclear, and this lasts a good 8hrs at least. Mostly feminine. Do not blind buy.

There is nothing subtle about Midnight Jasmine. The Jasmine note has been turned into a sickly sweet jasmine, and all the nuance of true jasmine is lost. I get the honey and apple, but I think that's what is ruining the jasmine for me. The scent is an awkward teen, pretty in places, but just not well pulled together.

Balanced buttery perfection! It's a cozy gourmand scent focused on jasmine sambac and spicy cinnamon-y apple crisp dessert. Opening: honeyed cold jasmine. It's slighltly indolic/animalic and fruity (grape-like plum, apple). Middle: jasmine tea and apple pie drizzled with honey. Lots of cinnamon. Voluptuous boozy rose. Base: sweet earthy patchouli and yummy tonka bean notes, sandalwood. Warm gooey cinnamon apples and brown sugar. Patchouli, sandalwood and musk really help to ground the composition, the drydown is sensual and buttery. Overall, this perfume is well-made. The dynamic interplay of warm gourmand notes and cold jasmine notes is very interesting. It's similar to Rosé All Daé. Although, Rosé All Daé is playful, sweet and "innocent"... and Midnight Jasmine is her (oh, so) sexy cousin. Captivating spicy floral gourmand. Cozy and comforting, yet seductive. It's somewhat wintry/autumnal. I imagine walks through the autumn trees, warm apple pie, jasmine tea with honey... Extrait de parfum concentration. Great performance. If you enjoy fragrances like Angels' Share by Kilian, Ambre Narguilé by Hermès, Oajan by Parfums de Marly definitely give Midnight Jasmine a try.

Woah, this is a jasmine powerhouse. It’s not green in any way shape or form. It very indolic jasmine petals heavy and dripping with honey, brown sugar, spices, and dried fruits. It’s romantic, heady, and gives me a feeling of drowsy limpid women of say 1920 resting on burgundy velvet chaise lounge chairs. There’s sandalwood incense burning next to the Tiffany lamp in this speakeasy back room. It has the characteristic tonka base Gallagher fragrances can have. It reminds me of a grownup Lush Lust but far, far better blended with much more quality and thoughtful composition. It’s very very similar in profile to Rose All Dae but far less booze and minus the strange metallic twang.

The quality of the ingredients and longevity are outstanding, all the perfumes are extracts and it is great experience to wear them. However you definitely need to test them on your skin before buying. The sample set from website arrived quickly and looks very nice, the price is absolutely adequate as well. This particular jasmine scent starts on me with incense - jasmine, like the one you can find in Indian stores on the stick to burn. In about 5 minutes I have applied crisp&cinnamon, in about 30 min more honey, very realistic (almost like Bee from Zoologist)+ Jasmin. It is not light, airy fragrance. More like something the Amouage could make.

I am officially super impressed with Pearlescent Parfums as a fragrance house. This is the third that I've tried and they are all so complex but also blended so nicely. I never would have imagined what a perfect combo apple and jasmine would be. On one hand, this reminds me a bit of Kilian's Angels Share with the boozy gourmand apple pie facet. But I also get a jammy rose reminiscent of Lush's Rose Jam scent. I feel like every time I smell this, I get something new. This feels elevated but also cozy. Just amazing.

A night on the town filled with vodka shots chased by beer. You come home wasted, the smell of alcohol emanating from your pores.... You go to the fridge & chug some Welch’s 100% grape juice..... & knockout. You wake up smelling of a hippie doused in patchouli oil. Midnight Jasmine Pearlescent Parfums...

This fragrance has confirmed that I am not too into the jasmine note. It’s slightly screechy to my nose. I get the apple crisp note and slight spiciness from the cinnamon. Maybe vanilla would’ve made this more pleasant.

I really liked this. I smell spicy syrupy cinnamon dried apples. But it’s so strong that it gives me a headache. I can still smell it after 18 hours, very cool fragrance just too much for me.

Sweet floral with an old style feel. There's a resin/wood base with heavy, sweet floral top that makes me think of old Charles the Ritz or something. Reads very 1960s on me.

Slightly floral version of Rose All Dae. Less cidery aswell. Really nice
