O'Hello

Like sitting down and drinking a cool glass of water on your back porch after mowing the grass on a hot and humid summers morning. This opens super fresh and ozonic with an OVERDOSE of dewy, grassy violet leaf, white florals, and bitter orange.Then as it dries down the opening becomes supported by a slightly fruity ylang ylang, iso e super, and ambroxan. Fairly linear after this besides some clean, non intrusive white musks supporting the cleanliness in the deep dry down. I’m really surprised as to how divisive this scent is. To me, it gives hints to “Green Irish Tweed” by Creed, but with a more aromatic and complex opening and mid. Because of this however, it took me a bit more wears to wrap my head around it than GIT did, wether that be for better or for worse is on a person to person basis. I will say, you have to really like violet leaf, aromatic, and green notes to dig this, and if you don’t then you probably won’t like this. Overall a very solid freshie from Gallagher, but there are better fragrances from this house. Very good performance and projection for me, especially compared to green Irish tweed. 8.5/10. Sampling the latest release from Gallagher Fragrances, O’Hello, a fresh, green, slightly spicy blend with featured notes of basil, bigarade, and violet with a backing assembly of citruses, florals, and woods. It feels very much a part of other fragrances that I would broadly characterize similarly, like Mists of Time and O’Vert, and O’Hello does not disappoint relative to its predecessors. It’s bright, sharp, and immediately engaging, with the basil providing a bit familiarity and a whole lot of greenness. It feels a fitting release for spring or summer and while it’s not among my very favorites of the house, it’s easy to wear and like and I think that others will like it too. O’Hello is priced at the current standard of $125 for 50ml for the brand, reasonable for niche/independent perfumery nowadays, in my opinion. 7 out of 10

Balsamic and citric basil concoction. Smells like vinaigrette on a fresh salad. Interesting and objectivity good. But not something I’d like to wear. Overly challenging.

I Love Daniel’s work but this one? Horrible to me. I adore violet leaf but I see it so wasted here. Not o ly there’s something old and stale in this fragrance, the ylang ylang and tuberose are so out of place giving it this bubblegum rubbery latexy smell it actually disgusts me. Luckily there’s always a black sheep in the family, I love the rest of this work :)
