Sunscape

Blind Buy because I love the uniqueness of Gallagher/Pearlescent perfumes. So glad I did it. I have been searching and searching for a beautiful summer scent and, Baby, this is IT. Stunning opening of candied lime with a sweet orange chaser, but this blooms so elegantly that kind of honeydew sunshiny melon makes its presence known big time. Swallows you up in a gorgeous freshness that lasts a good four or five solid hours for me, which is not too shabby. The sweetness stays, florals are pillowy. You can get some of the ginger zing in the dry down. You tell me there is a little sunshine in this bottle and I believe it after smelling. This is....uplifting. Safe blind buy and full bottle worthy. This is summer for people who don't want coconut sunscreen tropical, its a fresh new day summer. It's gorgeous.

This fragrance is a Beautiful Honeydew forward fragrance that smells incredible all the way through. The opening is the best scent that I have ever smelt, it has a very fresh scent that feels almost sparkly I think that the lime accords is giving this the pop like smell. it seems to last about 6 hours on my skin, however the opening is so good that I find myself fighting the urge to re spray.

I got this sample as part of a sample set. Acquatic fragrances aren't a scent profile I gravitate to often. So I likely wouldn't have tried this out otherwise. I would have missed out. Sunscape is more interesting that I would have thought and smells lovely. This is a fresh, spicy and green and a bit aquatic with contrasting warm notes like resins, inscence and vanilla. Underneath all that is a warm sweetness from the brown sugar. In the opening the melon is prominent. Sometimes find melon nauseating in fragrances. Not here. In Sunscape it is balanced just right. It is watery, fresh and lush like melon at the peak of ripeness. As it settles on the skin the warmer notes join the melon giving it a lovely complexity that is still easy to like. It's a bit like a sparkling summer cocktail on the heach with a bonfire in the distance, just close enough to get hints of the smoke. After a couple hours of wear the melon fades away and the warmer notes, especially the inscence are more dominant. They stay airy and light on the skin, never feeling heavy or cloying, even in the heat. The performance is pretty good for a freshie. The projection is pretty light with it staying within your personal space. After around 4 hours it becames skin scent. Although the projection isn't strong, I could easily smell it around myself. It lasted 6-7 hours on my skin and longer on my clothes. On paper, Sunscape is a little bland and boring, but it comes alive on skin. So don't judge it untill you have tried it on skin. This has a similar vibe as Acqua di Gioia. They are not dupes of one another, but are both fresh, green, aquatic fragrances with a warm brown sugar sweetness. Sunscape is more green fruity, while Acqua di Gioia is more herbal. This fragrance smells like sunshine and summer. The first day I wore this was grey and dreary and I was looking for something that was uplifting and Sunscape worked wonderfully. I wore it again on a hot sunny day and it was even better. I find this a very unisex fragrance. I can easily imagine a man wearing this as easily as I can enjoy it for myself.

I don't find this to be similar to Amongst Waves, at least not on my skin. AW is decidedly aquatic, bracing and fresh like a summer stream over slate, running into unspoiled marshland. What I get from Sunscape is more like sunny fruit salad, with a smattering of violets. Both are lovely, though I'm not sure Sunscape is really my style. Saying that, my somewhat fussy dog tried to lick it off my skin, and my spouse (who is usually super ambivalent about fragrances) immediately claimed this from my stash. Longevity is good -- even after the attempted dog licking incident, it stuck around softly from morning through lunch and into a hot afternoon. Oh -- a final note that I am familiar with another melon/incense scent, IA Whispered Myths, and that one is WORLDS away from this Sunscape. They live on completely different planets of fragrance. Reading a few similar notes on paper cannot prepare you for what a sheer division there is between these two creations, like that one meme about the beach house painted entirely in black, right next to the pink and purple house right next door.

The latest release from Pearlescent Parfums is Sunscape, a bright, fresh burst of violet and citruses, first and foremost, with an undercurrent of ginger and vanilla. It’s very violet-forward to my nose, that crisp, sharp, white-ish floral quality shining through brightly. The brightness/sharpness predictably becomes a bit more toned down after a dry down period (roughly 30 minutes in my case) and the vanilla and ginger become balanced with the honeydew, albeit still with some sharpness, for a nice blended experience. It’s very interesting, not immediately as lovable or enveloping as the other entries, so a little more challenging with the violet, at least to me, but still potentially very rewarding for those that enjoy that note, which is very heavy (at least on my skin) in the opening. As with all of Daniel Gallagher’s creations, I recommend sampling this. As with the sibling Gallagher Fragrances line, the Pearlescent Parfums line is sold in the US by Perfumology and Olfactif, as well as the house website at the standard pricing of $175 for 60ml. 7 out of 10

I first wore this last summer when I got a sample box from Gallagher Pearlescent Fragrances. I fell in love with Tonkazure and Tonkapeach. I wore this once, liked it, but didn't try it again until today. Sunscape starts of with bright, fruity, citrus notes and a bit of ginger. While many don't care for the ginger, I really enjoy it, but it is balanced with the sweetness from the melon. The solar accord really adds a brightness and cleaness to the opening. The fragrance then unfolds into this cozy and comforting softness. The olibanum blends wonderfully with the vanilla and the faint floral notes. The vanilla isn't a gourmand vanilla, but balances the violet very nicely. If you like Tonkazure and/or Tonkapeach, you will probably like Sunscape.

In opening I get aldehyde citrus ginger. As it dry down I get the sweetness from fruits; powder from violet. In dry down I get bright vanilla sunshine and vanilla. After six hours this perfume waffes btween juciy fresh dewy ginger violet and shiney vanilla. The fruits eventually add to the violet. The olibanium and incense add creaminess to violet. This like a mature floral gormand. Not edible. Update 19FEB24 im wearing this, weather 59 degrees new orleans. Its cool outside with chill wind blowing. I think the olibanum and incense make this work in cool weather. Citrus ginger brightness may be too much for cold weather. This perfume works in warm weather weather most likely hot weather too.

I have one word to describe this fragrance.......HONEYDEW! through and through lol this a a lightly sweet realistic honeydew fragrance. I mean i do not have much more to say lol. It's so wonderful and airy as well, best for the summer time. To me this fragrance is unisex, i can see a women from the countryside wearing this, you will definitely turn heads and also i can see a confident guy wearing this meeting up with his lady to go on an afternoon date. she will bury her face in your chest for sure. Do yourself a favor get your nose on the sample at least i promise you won't regret it.

To me this is a sweeter, less aquatic version of Amongst Waves. While I don't find Amongst Waves to be masculine, some do and will probably prefer this. This is such a nice take on a freshie summer scent. You are not going to smell like everyone else while the scent is still versatile and crowd pleasing!

Opening is blast of melon, lemon and ginger with little camphoric backbone. Then gets deeper less bright. More olibanum and iris. So unique DNA but so joyful. Hard to say if it's fresh or sweet ... it's just sunny. I like it a lot.

It could have been my perfect melon, solary scent, but that ginger ruins it for me. I don’t like ginger and it cuts through the sweetness, which I’m sure is done on purpose, but it is just too noticeable for me to enjoy the fragrance. Apart from that it’s a fresh juicy melon scent with that UV solar note. It was undoubtedly created to wear during summer time, but I’m sampling it during winter and I think it works now too! Especially if you wear it during those crisp frosty sunny days.

This is giving me low key vaseline smells on an otherwise beautiful backdrop.

This is a funny smelling bright citrusy scent to my nose. Will allow it to sit on my skin for a while before I fully decide whether I will be getting a full bottle or not. For now, it’s a big NO!

This is a more masculine leaning scent to my nose. Beautiful opening, realistic honeydew with citrucy sharpness. Right away something bitter green grass kind of smell comes to pair the honeydew. So it ́s sharp bitter green plus the honeydew in the first max 15 mins. The bitter green grass kind of smell makes it leaning masculine. I don ́t detect the scent unless I press my nose right to my skin.. So it ́s weak.. no sillage... Honeydew is gone in 15mins max. Some of the grass is perhaps faintly there but mostly it turns spicy so even more masculine than the beginning and gets progressively weaker by the minute. The spicy notes are similar to cloves to my nose... but very faint. After 1h there is basically nothing left of the scent. This would be an ok scent on a dude.. the perfume itself is natural, realistic smelling quality scent, nothing synthetic going on. But longevity.. sillage... there really aren ́t any. If you are willing to reapply every 1h then yes why not, it ́s nice.

I think I prefer this over amongst waves which is in my top 5 from Gallagher. I think this it a little bit more reserved and dialed back in comparison to amongst waves. Really another great fragrance from Daniel though. I’ve yet to find a Gallagher fragrance I don’t like and I have tried the whole summer collection plus a few from the winter collection. Another well thought out masterpiece from Daniel and Mindy.

I am really enjoy this fragrance. Got a sample and decided I couldn't go without a full bottle. It's prominently melon scent. I get a lot of brown sugar which I love! I never noticed the citrus when I was testing but now that I have access to more generous sprays the opening is quite citrus. It's a delightful summer fragrance. Quite pleased to have it in my collection.

There is ALot going on here. It's almost as if Daniel couldn't decide what to leave in or out. A kind of homage to the great outdoors of Texas with everything except the bbq's and the rodeos. Better like honeydew! ✨

Incense, melon, and mint - that's what I'm getting. The opening is little bit sharp, but after that it calms down and becomes sweeter and sweeter. The incense/mint note though is too sharp on me.

All I get is bright and juicy melon, and earthy patchouli. The contrast is a bit too much, it ends up smelling like a rather unfortunate layering combination.

Exotic tropical goodness for summer..ozonic and melony fruity...the drydown is great..perfect with a colourful Hawaiian shirt.
