By the Yuzu Grove

So I purchased by the yuzu grove at the perfect timing after all the hype died down and the Galleria site was having a liquidation sale for all tester bottles @$51 so I had to take advantage of it while supplies lasted. Boy am I glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised upon initial sniff! To my nose I instantly got a bright citrus note which must be the yuzu and then a slight touch of sour (but in a good way) lemon. After a few minutes the spiciness kicks in from the ginger and balances out all the top notes. Then 10-15 minutes into the dry down I got all woods but the citrus notes still hang around but ever so slightly. Believe it or not to my nose this fragrance is very sexy especially for a citrus scent that’s another pleasant surprise! So expect compliments for sure! This fragrance is ideal for obviously summer and spring but can also be pulled off in the fall and winter due to the woodiness. I’d say it’s almost an all year round fragrance. So far the projection seems fairly good for a citrus fragrance and it performs adequately as well. As far as the longevity about 6-8 hours depending on your chemistry, amount of sprays, location of sprays etc. Overall, this was an excellent blind buy and a steal at $51! Although I wouldn’t say it’s worth the original price tag of $200 but it would still be a good deal at $100 but no more. This most definitely is better than some niche fragrances out there in the same realm and all the notes are very authentic. And anyone that says this fragrance smells like a citronella candle or is too synthetic has a jacked up sniffer! lol 9/10!

I’ve mentioned how every fragrance from Galleria is a homerun in past reviews and this is no exception. The design, the weight, etc. Let’s cut to the chase. Out of his (Ashton/Galleria) lineup, this in my opinion is the only warm weather fragrance out of the seven frags they launch. Annnnd... it’s winter where I am located when they launched this brand. Sprayed my hand immediately smell the citrus nuances. It’s smells Lemony with hint of woody/spice. Very masculine. It smells high quality. As do all his frags. Haven’t smelled too many citrus fragrances out there but the only other citrus frag I know of and own is from Terre D’Hermès. Whilst Terre smells like oranges, this smells like lemons. Out of the two, I’d VERY MUCH rather wear this one over Terre. The lemons and mint (smells like mint to me) just pops. So I was curious and sprayed my hand and had one of my female employees take a whiff out of this (she smelled ALL of Galleria’s perfumes). She absolutely loved it. Out of the seven, she rated this one the highest and gave it a ten. Which is understandable. It’ll be a safe crowd pleaser. Anyone can pull this off IMO. I can’t wait to wear this in spring/summer. Is it a safe blind buy? Absolutely. For 200 bucks? Yes! I still think it is. You are getting an extrait after all.

It is worth noting I’m a lover of freshies, aromatic and green fragrances. Living in a sub-tropical climate, many complexe scents are restricted to 3 months a year, unless I want to slowly choke myself in a cloud of perfume ( it has happened mind you !) So I do not mind pulling the trigger on a freshie if it possesses that little oomph, that little extra that I love. Don’t be disparage by the opening of this one, which reminds me of a common, fresh and typical cologne. After a few seconds, the zingyness is suddenly amped up, Yuzy and mandarin bloom, always embraced by ginger. And then the spices take off and mingle with the citruses. At the heart, it’s a play of tart and warm, zingy but slightly sweet, fresh and overripe. Like a previous reviewer wrote, it is mainly a hybrid of lemon-orange-grapefruit on a bed a slightly musky wood. Longevity and projection are very decent. Sillage, don’t know, don’t care! I found it intoxicating and did pull the trigger. After discount, I paid $109 for 100ml which is reasonable for a bottle I will use a lot! Ps: I had no idea this was a collaboration with a YouTuber. I do not care who makes the fragrances, where it comes from ( though I limit anything coming from China ) so Pluto is fine by me if the fragrance is good!

My favorite from Galleria Parfums. By The Yuzu Grove (BTYG) is a beautiful and comforting citrus scent. A fresh, brightly-yellow lemony accord of yuzu and lemon zest dominate, brightened further and sweetened lightly by the mandarin. That lovely citrus accord is spiced up with a dash of refreshing ginger. Finally, the scent is built on a musky woody base of lightly-balsamic olibanum, leather, and sandalwood. Fresh, bright, zesty, citrusy, slightly-sweet, lightly-spicy, lightly-woody. This is a really good fragrance. It takes bright citruses and molds them into this characterful scent with woods, resins, and spices. BTYG is complex in a very good way. Sometimes I get whiffs of a very faint chocolate smell, and other times I think I smell a faint aroma of saffron. There is definitely something cool and metallic here. Ambroxan? Iso E Super? & it adds to the scent, not take away from it. The closest thing I've smelled to it is Atelier Cologne's Cedre Atlas: cool, citrusy, almost metallic. However, BTYG is much citrusy and with a more notable woody nuance. It is better than Cedre Atlas for me. This is one of the best citrusy scents I've smelled this year. A warm weather wear, unisex yet leans slightly masculine with it's woody spine. I "Love" it.

I recently received the Galleria Discovery Set which I recommend for everyone to grab. Very reasonable price for several good sized samples. Plus a great coupon if you want to buy full bottles. My order came very quickly, less than a week. By the Yuzu Grove is a very nice fizzy citrus. Lots of lemon and ginger for me. Great warm weather casual scent. Doesn’t come off unpleasantly sweet. This is a really enjoyable safe scent. Citrus done well. As with most citrus forward fragrances, I don’t get the big longevity or projection but it’s pretty good for that style. After 5 or 6 hours, it was a struggle for me to detect it but again I don’t find citrus scent hang around long on me so anything over a few hours is good. This is safe bet really good fragrance.

A blast of citrus with fresh spices and woods in the opening. Smells like an even lemon-yuzu split with a tinge of orange, and it's very smooth and refreshing almost like an iced glass of juice. Less "By the Yuzu Grove" and more "Freshly Squeezed from the Yuzu Grove." Ginger lends it a fizzy pop from the skin, but without the same bubbly intensity as a carbonated beverage, while the frankincense adds a touch of non-citric fruitiness all over a light woody base. Moderate initial projection fades over 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr. Might be a YouTuber scent but it's legitimately good. This will have to fill to yuzu-shaped hole in my collection since the performance of LV On the Beach compels me not to own it. :(

First couple times I wore this from a sample I wrote it off as not special enough to have a repeat. HOWEVER... I have just ordered 10 ml from Decant House. Thankful I gave it another wear before passing off. It is lovely, unisex, and yes citrusy, but so much more. Sophisticated. Fairly long-lasting. I wore it playing tennis and one of my team mates was gaga for it, so it was nice to know it makes a good impression from a few feet away. I would say the yuzu, lemon, spices, and sandalwood are the main players I perceive. Highly recommend a try if the notes sound appealing. The final thing to note is that I love having a citrus scent that is really not a summer thing--this is year round pleasure.

Actually a nice summer citrus. I think this has the yuzu cocktail note and it's unique. Smells great but performance sucks. If you're not a fan of bringing a decant and reapplying fragrance, this is not for you. It only lasts about 5 to 6 hours with 1 hour of projection. Maybe sufficient for others but not for me. Event if you pay for their introductory price of 7 bottles at 55% discount which i did. Bottle is high quality. And sprayer is top notch. Same with the new sprayers of masque milano

This is very good. There are so many summer citurs fragrances you can't help but do some comparisons. But the yuzu here is addicitng. It does have quite an authentic lemon zest punch in the first few minutes, then the mandarin and ginger come up a bit. After an hour, the sandalwood gives it a creamy turn, similar to Chanel Allure Homme, but the Yuzu is still out front. No, it is not a performance bomb, but it is every bit as strong as most in this category. The quality sets it apart.

As of now it's priced at $139 with an additional 20% off which ain't bad but ain't great either. As mentioned before it's long lasting, a great warm weather scent that has twist. I get tons of dryness from the smoky basenotes and vetiver which balances out the citrus notes. Mass appealing and will get compliments but it's aimed at the niche crowd particularly. I have a decant which is good enough for me.

HugoAlfie, you can just go to the galleria website. All the scents are on discount for now Also, I just bought the discovery set and that came with a coupon of US $40 off for a full bottle purchase. But you only have 30 days to pull the trigger so I’m trying to blast through the samples and give them each a couple good wearings.

What an incredible composition! It’s basically a Yuzu heavy Dior Homme Cologne/Mercedes Cologne. Fresh clean Yuzu opens with a hint of ginger and stays pretty linear which isn’t a negative in my opinion. I enjoy the clean freshness throughout my wear.

I bought a decant of this and had several successful wearings. But something happened... last two times it has smelled like straight up citronella candle. Tragic. I think this will be a cast off but it makes me feel bad.

Opening is almost identical to Xerjoff Nio. Mid is a unique woody yuzu. Drydown is similar to Elysium. Super solid, my favorite of the lineup

This morning is my final sampling of the first collection of seven from Galleria Parfums, curated by Ashton of Gents Scents, and certainly the most apt for warm weather, By the Yuzu Grove, a fittingly citrus-focused creation that’s fresh, yet dry and tart, containing the eponymous yuzu (a citrus of eastern Asian origin, albeit cultivated elsewhere), mixed with ginger, pepper, resins, spices, vetiver, and woods. It’s well-blended in that the citrus opening, while intense and tart, does gradually give way to a more varied mix has spicy, herbal, and woody touches. Overall, it’s very agreeable and easy to wear, predictably not as strong a performer as the other six entries that are more year-round or cold-weather-friendly, so it’s a little bit more difficult of a sell at the full retail pricing of $205 for 100ml, but this is still reasonable enough overall. 7 out of 10

It reminds me of Artisan Pure but less cloying and more high quality. I do get a slight pencil shavings smell though. Once that dies down its what I imagine is yuzu (like a hybrid of orange, lemon and grapefruit). It's almost like Artisan Pure and Artisan Blu had a kid and this was it. Fairly linear, okay projection, okay longevity. This could be a good warm weather frag.

I got this during the recently liquidation of galleria Parfums. I prefer fresh fragrances and this was the only lightish one. I don't expect much from youtube fragrances but this one is pretty good. A nice citrus and something a little deeper but not sure what the smell is. At 50$ I recommend but looks like it is sold out and done for.

Very lemony, on my skin, and in the opening. It smells a little sweaty. It has a good projection in the opening and the yuzu smells very nice! To me, however, this just smells too simple. I imagine myself walking and smelling like a lemon. And to me that's a bit uninteresting. Not for me.

Nice but it's gotta be one of the most generic from Galleria. The yuzu packs a punch but then settles into a typical citrus freshie. I don't enjoy wearing this style and the end game turns very musky and bitter on me as the citrus fades. Review of official trial size spray sample from discovery set.

Refreshing yet generic and linear citrus - smells like 75% Dior Homme cologne mixed with 25% Artisan Pure. Smells nice enough, but completely unoriginal and derivative - as someone who has tried all of Galleria’s offerings, unfortunately that is a consistent theme.
