Moving Times

Citruses with a dash of vanille. Moving Times (MT) is one of Galleria's better scents. A green, fresh mix of mint and citruses, sweetened lightly with a cheerful vanilla note & lightly-woody tonka beans. Lavender adds a clean cool feel to the scent. Finally, the labdanum adds a very faint tobacco-like background, that is likely accentuated by the tonka. Zesty, fresh, green, clean, vanillic, slightly-sweet. This is a beautiful fresh scent. The bright, fresh notes of citruses and mint are anchored with vanilla and tonka beans, making the scent fresh but with lovely depth. This is the 3rd fragrance, yet, from Galleria Parfums that has that vanilla gourmand accord. The other 2 are Shades of Seduction and Dream Woods. However, MT is the freshest/zestiest of the bunch. The other freshie from Galleria, By the Yuzu Grove, which is gorgeous by the way, does not have this gourmand accord. User (cplively) below is on point with the Chanel Allure Homme Sport (AHS) comparison, especially the Eau Extreme. There is a strong similarity with MT. They both have a fresh citrusy and slightly minty accord that is softened and sweetened with a vanilla/tonka accord. Well done, cplively. MT is well blended. Start to finish. Very smooth. Versus ASHEE and going by memory, I prefer MT. ASHEE's tonka beans note is too intensive but it is delicately toned down in MT. A warm weather, more masculine wear. This is my second "Love" from Galleria after By the Yuzu Grove.

I've never been great at describing scents and comparing them to others, but I will say I was intrigued by this fragrance from the very first time I smelled it in the discovery set from Galleria Parfums. Of all the GP scents, this one spoke to me the most. There's just something about the way that this is blended... the notes work together...that make the sum much greater than the individual notes, all in a way that I really love. In terms of comparing this to other scents, for me, it is unique and definitely not the same as anything that I've smelled or owned. However, there are bits and pieces that I pick up from other fragrances. I think the way the mint and tonka are used it sort of reminds me of the way those notes are used in Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. The citrus is really good and adds a fresh tinge to counteract the sweeter notes in the open. The iris and lavender work very well with the vanilla. The iris is much less forward in Moving Times as compared to the iris in much of the Givenchy Gentleman line, but they both work with the vanilla (especially Gentleman EDP) is vaguely familiar. Also, as someone else said, I also get elements from JPG Le Male, especially the way the vanilla works with the lavender. Moving Times takes these elements and blends them extremely well. I think this would make a fantastic signature scent. One of my favorite fragrances.

This was a nice surprise is such an understatement. I have had my eye on this house for months but it cost more than I wanted to spend on a blind buy... until the close down sale. Based on notes, I bought this and Shades of Seduction and this was my first to try. Five minutes later, I was buying the entire collection. This is still my favorite from the lot and I wish I had bought a backup bottle (or two). It is blended masterfully. Green and semi-fresh with just a hint of sweetness and loads of class. There is nothing that I own or remember smelling that smells anything like this. From the scents in the "reminds me of" above, I'd most agree with Galloway. Not because of the scent itself but because of type of scent and quality. Except this blows PDM Galloway out of the water (and I LOVE Galloway). Perfect Spring scent. Performance and longevity are stellar. I HATE that this scent is no longer for sale. It is worth every penny of the it's original price tag and the sale's price was a steal. I will eventually review the others from Galleria Parfum but spoiler alert, they are all top notch.

My first time smelling this, I was not impressed. It's definitely "different": Smells kind of fizzy and minty, yet dry, flat and creamy. Idk, hard to describe. But after a couple more wearings it eventually grew on me. Anyway, I ended up loving it. Later on, I bought Cedrat Boise and one day realized that Moving Times smells almost exactly like the drydown of CB, so if you enjoy the Mancera you should like this one too.

This is soft ghosty parfum. It has a subtle quality though it opens with bright and rich citrus. The mint becomes dominant with a transformative quality that becomes leafy, green and fibrous with time. It was as if the mint was ripening. As the bergamot softens the delicate bouquet begins to emerge. The flowers are subtle; the geranium is light, not sugary but green, there is a gentle powderyness and the iris takes on a creaminess, almost oiled leather in nature accented by perhaps the tonka bean and labdanum. Through out, the scent seems to disappear then reemerge; each time with a new wave of sensation. As the mint softens into the back ground the patchouli moves forward with a slight cakyness that makes for one of the most dramatic transitions. Though it is not patchouli heavy. There is no static to the smoothness of the fragrance, because there is no spice, and that really causes the notes to have a morphic quality or blossoming effect. If you're looking for a beast this is not it but if you are looking for something artful this is artful perfumery. I'm quite impressed. I have medium olive skin so for me it became a scent close to the skin between two and three hours.
