Nida

I ordered my bottle directly from Gallivant along with a discovery set. It arrived in a few days, so beautifully wrapped, it was almost a shame to open it and the handwritten card was a lovely touch as well. I'm a sucker for a more unusual bottle & this one is exquisite with its flowers & birds and marbled lid. I adore the perfume; it is smooth and well blended and keeps surprising me; it starts out citrus & bright, then I got spice, then pine, lilac, then a fade to a light smokey tea finish. Delicious outside with a breeze so you really get the different notes. You really could wear this anywhere. Long lasting & totally original and I'd wear this all year round, day or night. Fabulous!

This reminded me of Une Nuit Magnetique when I first sprayed it... but that dry down is WOW! There is a patchouli note in the dry down that reminds me of Le Labo's Patchouli 24 and I love that one. This is amazing and like other reviewers said "Not Linear" It stays on clothes until at least the next day but of course less on skin.

It is a wonderful summer scent. It does make me think about being outdoors of either Neringa (where Nida is), or just even in the fields of Lithuania during the summertime.

Perfume dedicated to my favourite childhood place, so I am not bias. I enjoy this massively!

This really reminds me of Ungaro Desnuda. But fresher. And with an unexpected smokiness. The mandarin reads almost peachy and the incense note is quite smoky in the opening. Almost like bonfire smoke drifting in the breeze. I get a lot of the tea in the heart blending with a laundry clean lilac and a pollen like sunflower accord. The cedar is very strong in the base and that is what makes this very unisex IMO. The moss is gently done. The amber in the base is a dry non sweet amber. And this fragrance has a dusty quality throughout. Kind of like sand. I keep seeing sparkling beige sand beach dunes in my minds eye when smelling Nida. I do like this and will wear my samples but won't spring for a full bottle. It is a unique fragrance but I would have liked more focus on the florals. It is extremely unisex. It hovers a bit to much in ambiguity for me. Edit another memory that comes to my mind is clothes hanging outside to dry at my childhood farm. There is something of a faded memory about this perfume. Distant and barely accessible. Were you on the beach that day or walking in a field of newly mown hay? Or in a kitchen, steaming cup of spiced tea in hand looking at a vase of wildflowers on the table? This type of scent is everywhere and nowhere at the same time. A wisp of a memory. Again, a bit to vague for me but I can see the appeal for others. Another edit... This perfume has an oily texture. Be careful when applying to clothing.

Impressions blind testing Nida. Opening: bright orange-ginger with a pinch of cardamom. Has an effervescent, sparkly texture. Very faint, nondescript florals are somewhere afar, but not dominating. Mid: dry tea and hay like nuances appear as the opening settles down. Fizziness gives way to spiced smokiness. Patchouli shines through. The composition warms up. Dry down: amber, patchouli and either tobacco or light incense dominate the base. It is not a traditional heavy hitter oriental, but definitely a spicy-amber composition with a very fresh opening. Would work as a spicy fragrance for warmer weather. Not linear, multifaceted. I enjoyed the opening and the dry down. Mid stages were sometimes muddled a bit until everything settled into places. Need to test a few more times. Unisex. Medium longevity and sillage. Overall a pretty composition. Interesting enough.

My reason for posting is not to provide another review on how this smells. There are some great reviews already. It's to add into the thread that on my skin, this didn't last more than a couple of hours. When I came to this page a few minutes ago, I was staggered to read that Nisa is perfume strength - I also have Istanbul from the Gallivant range, and that lasts all day, so it's not my typical experience with Gallivant. Possibly I am anosmic to something in the base notes, because I don't seem ever to get to the base notes - it's just a ghost by the time they should be coming to the fore. So even though Nida is a limited issue, I would urge you to try before you buy in case you have the same experience as me. It's a shame because I really liked what I did experience of Nida.

This to me is mostnly incense, of the smoky spicy variety not the churchy balmy or soapy variety. Im wary of cardamom these days as ive been known to overdo this in the past (cue piles of cardamom tea nd coffee piling in my cupboards) but its just a bit of it here so it's ok. Citruses are there in small amounts and I'm trying to make out any florals, but nothing is showing as the incense is dominating it all. All I feel is the soft feminine spring florals in the back without any specific flower in charge. I like it! But no intense urge to buy, thank god! I have too much as it is.

This is lovely. The opening is citrusy and has almost sparkling quality, and drydown really made me think of Azalai by Stora Skuggan with its intense amber. I’m curious if anybody else sees this connection. I love Azalai, but it’s a cold-weather-only fragrance, while this could work all year round.

Not what I expected from the description. I don't flowers that much and cannot perceive it a light, summer scent. It actually reminds me a lot of some Rituals room fragrances - it has very pronounced citrus/woody accents (probably Mehr).
