Havana Cologne

Initial notes: Strong scent of cigars and fresh tobacco leafs too, some whiffs of green banana leafs, demerara rum (in terms of aromas that is; there is no alcohol kick involved). Mid: Prominent chili notes, nearly like smelling Mexican dried guajillos, some floral notes, cocoa beans, allspice Base: Dry woodiness throughout, really nice. Rather cedar than vetiver in my opinion. Some cassia cinnamon too. Performance: Very good for a cologne, I like Trumper's predictable performance and that you can always spray a couple times extra if necessary for some reason Value: Midrange, 60-70 euros, ditto GBP for 50 ml EDC is quite something, but it's OK since the performance is rather like an EDT Meta: I do get the palm tree thing, but only for 15 minutes. Most "green" notes are quickly faded. Thoughts: I really love this scent, both in terms of aromas and composition. The thing to love the most, is the fact that it is complex and spicy without being heavy. This matters a lot to me, because it makes Havana extremely versatile. There is no need to wait for some other season or occasion; if you want spice you can apply at will, whenever. So it is basically the first time in my life I own a complex spice/tobacco scent that is perfectly lightweight, dry and suited for summer evenings as well as the rest of the year. You can safely wear this for most occasions. The cigar note could be rough on ex-smokers bent on quitting, but it is soft and gentle for every non-smoker...For me, this fragrance lets me revisit memories of bygone smoke-filled times without the health risk involved.

This is Sex to the nose. Utterly enjoyable, exotic, warm, sunshiny freshness and none of the usual Cuban clichés of Rum, Cigars and Che G. Very natural smelling and totally gender friendly, meaning anyone can use this (to avoid the ugly "unisex" word). Very inviting, alluring and carefree. Perfect for holidays but also afterhours and special dinners. Love this a lot!

My absolute favorite from the house, pink pepper at its finest! I will wear this with a Panama hat and white linen shirt while having a stroll around Havana one day.

Top notes are very light and flowerlike, like a little girl in a candy store. Quickly does the cinnamon enter the room, chili and wow thats alot of pink pepper, its spicy, the girl has grown into a young adult seducing everyone at her will. The cologne later calms down to a soft vetiver. Its not as strong anymore, the woman has aged into a lady and now sits in her cotton bed reading a book, smoking a cigar. life is calm and theres no need to hurry it up.

most modern smelling one in my sampler so far, a nice and spicy but happy affair. comparisons with spicebomb are apt, but it's less sweet, which helps it in my book. - it's maybe just that tad more natural. also reminiscent of burberry london, and the something of the A*Men Pure Havane/Pure Malt type DNA. if you're coming at this from a perspective of Geo F. Trumper as a perfumery though, this falls pretty far outside of their usual profile.

Heaps cinnamon with a lot of tonka adding up to a sweet tobacco accord. Vetiver-like woody compounds for the back bone and there certainly is a good amount of a sweet powdery almost talc-like element to it. Good value for the price, there appears to be a certain spicebomb inspiration here that I can't get over. Nonetheless solid!

I see tobacco isn't listed (!!) but that's what I get. And cinnamon, though nicely blended so it doesn't dominate. This is smooth and does last albeit subtle. If I want a blast of similar I'll reach for Chergui or Aramis Tobacco Reserve. It just doesnt have an X factor, but maybe thats the point? 2.5/5

A silky smooth and slightly tropical take on spice bomb, this is a fragrance house with a regal colonial history that unlike creed is all true, Havana may seem like a modern fragrance but it would fit perfectly somewhere hot and humid, it smells much more natural to me than spice bomb , closer to Initio's Rehab in that respect, Havana is crying out for a linen shirt and sun glasses, trumpers needed a holiday scent and I think they've nailed it.

This does pink pepper better than Creed Viking. One of the top scents from this house, up there with Sandalwood and Eucris.
