Saint Honoré

When I bought it, I saw the notes, and assumed, this would be an easy love as I love various fragrances that have similar note breakdowns. But there is almost an unlisted Saffron in the opening or off the nozzle of the fragrance that smells off putting. I stuck with it, and put it away, trying it every couple of weeks. Each time I went back, I was reminded of that Dusty Saffron note that I was not a fan of. Technically, I'm interpreting it incorrectly. However, if that's what it comes across, that's not my fault. lol.. I have had this one for about a year now, and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm smelling. There's an Amber, Incense, Myrrh, Pink Pepper up top, that remains rough. Which I was interpreting as a Dusty Saffron. About half an hour into the wearing, that Dustiness finally fades and gives your nose a reprieve from how peppery, leathery and smokey it comes across. Once it does, it remains smooth and becomes tolerable to the average nose for about 5 hours. After that, it's pretty much a skin scent for another 3 hours. I still don't love it, but it has grown on me. Perhaps in another year, I'll like it. lol.. It is interesting and want to like fragrances with some deep darkness like this has. If this is supposed to be a woman's fragrance, that must be a tough woman, because this is dark and heavy. Not to mention, this is not how I imagine a woman would smell. I've let my wife (38) and daughter (18) smell it. They were absolutely disgusted by it. So, apparently, they too do not believe women should smell like this. lol.. But, to each their own. From the line, I'd easily recommend Parade De Nuit to everyone, Male/Female, and Black Tie to the men out there. This one, I'd say buyer beware. Especially, if you live in a hot climate. Perhaps in the cooler regions of the world, but I haven't had any luck in cold wearing it. lol

Nothing special, orris & vanilla is prominent throughout. Overpriced for what it is.

This stuff smells like a teddy bear wrapped in velvet with a slight blend of powder. The guy above me didn't like it, but I need all the bottles. Have received many compliments from this.
