Orb Of Night

This perfume has an 90's vibe it it is a bit plasticky and reminds me of a toned-down Alien. It has a noticeable almond note, which makes it a bit different from In Love With You by Armani (jumping on that same trendy cherry bandwagon here). In the opening, mature orangey notes are the answer to the autumnal aura enveloping the Northern hemisphere just now, with ylang-ylang adding sunshine and caramel the warmth sugary warmth and sandalwood for bit of creaminess. It makes me feel like having warm home-made crumbly tart on hot sand dunes, which is a bit unusual a treat I think, but then maybe not if it is somewhere like Egypt or Tunisia? It reminds me of eating orange flower tarts, albeit in a hotel, when I had been there. Like someone mentioned, on spraying the first instant thought is "it smells re-interpreted vintagey", in a good sentimental way. Strange thing, as I am not a fan of cinnamon, but I think the perfume would gain even more of that character if it was added, along with nutmeg (maybe a flanker?), but it is very nicely made as it is. I might get a bottle. I had been looking for an affordable scent of this type to add to my winter accolade. VEGAN. Edit; Interesting curve of the perfumer whose"incredible leathers and furs, he used in his atelier. "A bit cheaper version to Alive by Hugo Boss. Skin scent throughout with no projection at all, with moderate longevity, cannot overspray it. 5 mins later..... I got intrigued by the meaning of the name of this perfume. Orb of Night. Now Orb is technically a celestial body apparently orbiting the Earth and gathering all sorts of energy around it, in a nutshell. Ok, makes sense, as this perfume is composed of various bits, I can see the analogy. The other meaning is light, or a type of lens or effect one can achieve in photography, and these can be various colours bubbles over the captured image. Also, when I analyse the line name "Ghost", the last meaning makes most sense as I found this information: there are ghosts or spirits called orbs, and each Orb can be of a different colour again (white, blue, red, yellow, black.). They each hold a different energy and emotions, but I will let you discover about that independently if you are interested. I found it fascinating. To me this perfume would be a Red Orb, as it would fit the aura of protectiveness, warmth and passion that I am getting when it develops on my skin. So here I am....sitting down on Arabian dunes, on a colourful rug just outside of a traditional Bedouin tent, under a sky which still has orangey/red hues to it and sun is setting. The stars are starting to show up (jasmine), sticky hot tea in served and we soon will hear stories of travellers, warriors, a bonfire will be alight and sparks will fly....we might be joined by an orb, an old spirit to protect us, sipping on tiny bit of syrupy rum and fall asleep under the stars under his/hers watchful eyes.... In the morning haze all that will seem just a beautiful surreal dream. Edit; Also, from the perfumer who "enjoys cooking a tangine" and "a night in a desert". Ok, nose was correct on this one! Arabian vibes.

Have never smelled that moronic high heel scent and refuse to entertain it. I can't/won't compare. I love ORB OF NIGHT. I waited an age to try it because I'm not overly taken with the brand's other offerings (besides the eponymous and DEEP NIGHT). From the notes, I was actually more intrigued by the later OPULENCE version. The iridescent glittery bottle and the notes sounding so promising. Truth be told, although it drew me in, I really hate that version. It smells exactly like the BLACK CASHMERE by DKNY. Not for me. I don't mind a dot that this, Orb Of Night, is described by so many as generic, because it's really one of the good ones. It's relatively well priced for what it is and I think it smells great. I love scents with this particular woody nuance. It's captured, similarly, in ALIEN - Mugler, AMARIGE - Givenchy and VANILLE NOIR - Yves Rocher. Or, at least, those are the ones I've managed to find that are to my personal liking. Now there's this one, another for my little collection of scents to hit upon this magical note, that I so covet, with that addictive essence of cedar and sandal. This is savoury and sweet. Warm and jammy. On card the orange blossom really shines, but on my skin it's lost in a fruity compote. That's a shame, but no mind. That sweet woodiness is something I just can't ever seem to get enough of. Dries down soft, powdery, woody. 👌👌👌

Think of a mix of Viva La Juicy, Good Girl Légère and juicy cherries and you are pretty close to Orb of Night. It opens up with a fruit-infused white floral with a touch of smooth caramel, similar to VLJ, but with a strong cherry note alongside the fresh mandarin. Then it becomes very sweet, as cherry and almond take center stage for a while. And finally, the Good Girl DNA creeps in. A hint of musk, woods and amber, together with an ultra-creamy almond, create a similar effect to the slightly scratchy tonka in Good Girl, but Orb of Night is very milky and has lots of sweet caramel, so it's closer to the Légère version than to the original. It's brighter, fruitier and softer in character than both though. Strength-wise it isn't soft, but pleasantly wafty. I'm very glad I tried this. I love the moon shaped bottles of the Ghost fragrances, but Deep Night wasn't quite a match for me and the others sound boring. Orb of Night might not be the most original fragrance in the world, but it has a great balance of things I enjoy. If you like sweet, creamy gourmands, you can't really go wrong here. My husband complimented it when I was testing it, which is a nice bonus.

The reformulation of this has grown on me SO MUCH. The additional natural ingredients are an excellent touch and I love the refillable bottle in the recyclable box, the whole style is very nice and I appreciate the efforts. It's much more orangey and peachy smelling that the original but given that I own a few bottles of the original I do find this a welcome change when viewed as a flanker rather than a replacement. The base is incredibly similar, almost indiscernible from the original, but the rest of the scent definitely comes across as another variation and not that close to the original at all. I love both!

I actually got this today as a blind buy. I think it's lovely, and to be honest, I'm pleased to have found a cheapie that is so nice. It's nothing groundbreaking but it's lovely nonetheless and I'm pleased I have it in my collection, nor do I have anything that smells similar. Its sweet, warm and cozy. I mostly get the cherry, almond, musk and I guess the sweetness from the caramel. Really really pleasant. I see it's been compared to CH Good Girl and I can't stand that fragrance, I find it has a masculine vibe and this does not. If you're after a sweet, cozy cheapie, this is worth it.

Warm, inviting and sexy. Oooh... I like this one a lot! This is super warm and cosy with oodles of cherry, almond and Ambergris on a bed of caramel, orange blossom and sandalwood. Reminds me of a deeper, more mature Viva La Juicy flanker. I can't imagine anyone being offended by this as it's so soft. I feel ultra-feminine when I wear this. Probably one of the sexiest non-vanilla perfumes I own. I absolutely adore the bottle and the advertisement as well, the warm sunset hues definitely suit the juice inside. Full bottle worthy.

this was my signature scent all throughout year 10 and omg it was so good, such a lovely scent i love my vanilla scents anything sweet i will probably adore and this was that perfect balance of vanilla and mature like a older teenage girls perfume, obviously heres me 3 years on hoping to buy another bottle so it could really suit anyone from 15-25, it lasted long school days and was still able to smell on clothes a few hours after school had finished, perfect gift for teens and young adults!

The new version smells SO DIFFERENT from the version in the other bottle, I'm freaked! Smells really peachy now and has lost the almondy woodiness. Still a nice scent, but I prefer the ELIXIR variant over the replacement of the original orb. The original orb was nicer, I think, and it was stronger and longer lasting. (Edit, ok I take that back - I like both... But neither is as good as the original formula in my opinion, that's my preferred version for sure.)

This smells like a mix of Very Good Girl and Scandal to me and I really like it. I only have a sample and I hadn't worn it in ages. Normally when this happens, my taste tends to have changed and I don't like the perfume as much anymore, but I love this! I hope the longevity is good because I will buy a bottle if so. Edit: Longevity is about 6 hours on my skin, by the 5th hour it's not so noticeable anymore, but projection is pretty good the rest of the time.

Caramel sweet, a bit nutty with a tiny hint of cherry, gourmand but with a background of some white florals (you can’t identify anything specific but it’s there). Really great for the price. Not as strong feeling as CH GG, although I do get the comparisons it’s more in the same genre than a dupe. This has less white florals and more sticky sweetness. Also, nothing AT ALL like Cheriosa 62 which is much sweeter and much more gourmand with less white flowers.

i adore this perfume! on first sniff it seems very much an autumn fragrance as it is so warm and cozy with the notes of almond and sandalwood, but ive found this translates so nicely when used sparingly in warmer months too! it projects beautifully and lasts roughly 4-6 hours! i love it a lot. its giving me visions of a witch making love potions whilst sat on a lovely beach in midsummer. <3

This is a lovely perfume, all the notes go very well together, as a lover of musk scents it’s right up my alley, sweet but not overly like some, it’s a comforting scent to me and quite grown up, last a while too, a pretty bottle to display, I highly recommend you give it a try, it’s a gift from my husband for Valentine’s Day so I will have this scent as a memory of winter dates to come.

This is a warm, lovely cherry orange and almond scent - a grown up, flirty gourmand. The woody notes stop it from being saccharine and add a depth that I love. Good for day or night. It’s like eating a seville orange tart while dressed in velvet, a glass of Tempranillo Red by your side as a crimson sunset spreads across the sky.

I love this fragrance. I can definitely see why it’s compared to Carolina herrera good girl, it does smell similar. I get a lot of almond in this, it’s a bold fragrance. Lasts a few hours on my skin but on clothes lasts for days. Was a bargain when i bought it £24.00 for 75ml.

It's delicious in every way! I never liked Ghost perfumes, but I adore this one! Sweet, warm, powdery from the musk too, well well blended together- nothing too much or too little! Well done!!! One of my favourite!

So beautiful, first time i smelt it i literally fell in love it’s so sexy and addictive in a way i can’t explain.

Cherry bakewell comes to mind thanks to the blend of cherry, almond and vanilla, with hints of caramel being detectable immediately. However I wouldn't describe the opening as being gourmand as the fresh & juicy combo of bergamot and mandarin prevents everything from being too sweet and cozy. If you are a fan of Ghost you'll enjoy the powdery floral heart and warm, slightly spiced, amber base, which shares several key scent notes; I can also separate some lily, which also is in Ghost. The undertone to everything is a bit soapy, so the lingering fruits, florals, warmth & sweetness are never close to being overwhelming. Vanilla-based fragrances don't always wear well on me I don't want to give any averages for the longevity & projection. Other people compliment me on this fragrance hours after application, so I know that it must wear well, but it comes and goes in waves to my senses. Sweet, but not too sweet. A nice floral heart, but not too rich in florals. Juicy fruits, but not too Juicy. The wearability for Orb Of Night is excellent; day, night, spring, summer, autumn or winter, it works anytime, anywhere. I've never felt underdone or overdone wearing it. I really wish that this wore better on me, as when it is detectable to me I love it. I still recommend testing it when you see it, because if vanilla-based fragrances wear well on you then this is a winner - Orb Of Night now has a 125ml refill bottle on the brand's site too. Most fragrance retailers stock Orb Of Night, but I recommend checking online and in outlet stores for the best offers - most days you can find various bottles & giftsets for under £20.

I am only writing this review in order in may help someone else! I bought this firstly as it was reasonably cheap and was just making up an order from boots really, and i do have Ghost deep night and love it, and it lasts on me, very few perfumes do, so i thought why not! I have not tried CH Good Girl or JPG Scandal unbelievably i know lol so i can not say if it smells like either of those as a lot of people seem to say, but it 100% does not smell like Alien, not one bit, not sure why anyone would think this, but i have seen many say it! What it does smell like and is pretty much a 95% dupe of is Hugo Boss Deep Red, i knew it the moment i sprayed it, and it seems one other person on here has got it also, it is spot on, which i would have been so happy about, as i love that fragrance, but have purchased it recently and it no longer lasts at all on me, so if this did would have been fantastic, unfortunately the lasting power is zero, and i over spray everything, 20 sprays, cannot smell it on me after 30 mins! So that is pretty much my review, smells like Deep Red, doesn't last 5 mins, on me at least!
