Later on the review, I will make a comparison with Blue De Chanel, you will understand why. Gianfranco Ferrè is quite famous here in Italy but I never had the chance to smell one of his fragrances, and this has been the first one I've ever tried. L'uomo is a blue fragrance, it fits the same category of Y!, BDC, Dylan Blue etc.. So if you are a frag head in love with niche stuff, go on with your day, this is not the kind of stuff you'd appreciate. It is quite linear, it evolves at a certain point and it reminds me of some other fragrances but in a very subtle way, something that you would pick up if you smell closely. Being a blue fragrance, it works pretty much for every occasion and it is highly versatile, but to me, it is a very good dating scent that would work amazingly if you want to make a very good impression with your significant other. It is fresh, masculine, gentlemanish, not youthful but modern, it has attitude. Longevity very good, on my skin 6-7 hours, projection 4-5 hours, you can smell it easily, it is not offensive and I've received multiple unsolicited compliments. For something that you can easily find on a range of 18-30€ you can't ask more. Later on, in the dry down, it has some nuances of two fragrances. After 1-2 hours has something of Chanel Platinum Egoiste ( probably the combo amber/sandalwood/cedar which both have), and in the far dry down when it sits closer to the skin has something of David Beckham Classic Blue. Not a clone, not the same scents, simply it reminds me a bit of those two in different stages of the scent. Now, the comparison with BDC and why: I was going to buy a new bottle of BDC cause mine is basically over, and while I was giving a look to various fragrances I accidentally tried L'Uomo among many others. Even if they are both blue fragrances, they are not similar, but they do the same things. As much as I will always love BDC, honestly, paying that price for something that requires to be re-applied every hour and a half, it is a waste of money. So I decided to get this one instead of a new bottle of BDC. L'uomo does the same thing, with better performance and at a lower price. Quality is good ( Obviously BDC is top tier ) and it doesn't even need to be re-applied, you spray it and you are okay for all night. Why waste 80-100 bucks when with 25 I have a 100ml bottle that will last for months !? It has become my signature scents in the last weeks and I cannot recommend it more, for casual wear or at work or for dating. It works gentlemen, try it out!

This has a beastly performance and silage. The best way to describe this would be, a cross between The One and Invictus. When you first spray The One EDP, that first fruity balsamic sweetness... this is it. Just without the tobacco but the same smooth and sweet balsamic smell. What I mean by balsamic is that it's not punching you in the head, not harsh but ultra smooth. And it projects, oooo yes. It fills up any room you come in and it keeps filling it for 2 hours. It projects for 4 hours minimum, and even more if there is a breeze of wind. Lasts 12+ hours easily, even after in can be felt quite good, not even smelling directly off the skin but few inches away. Sticks to you like a glue. It has a hint of that Invictus sweetness but not too much. So, a fruity aspect of The One EDP opening and a bit of Invictus sweet. It is pretty much like that all the way, very lineral, from the first spray to the dry down. The same sweet, non offensive, not in your face frag that projects and lasts. Could work in any season, any occasion. Simple mass pleaser. If you like especially The One EDP, Invictus, Bvlgari Atlantiqve, Sauvage... frags like that, you will love this. Every woman I've asked said only that this frag is sooo freaking good, but when they smelled it closely, all said... it's just way too strong. That is a good thing, meaning it will last and you won't have to reapply. Woody and sweet and a bit fresh. I mostly get from this is vanilla, woody and that amber. Citrus notes aren't that noticeable. Note: After more testing this is very very close to AF First Instinct.

L'Uomo a Surprising Scent SOTD: Gianfranco Ferre L'Uomo: As of 01/12/19 A surprising and awesome Oriental woody scent caught me off guard, to my nose I scent the sandalwood, vanilla, violet, pepper and a hint with ginger & cardamom in the background. But I scent more the sandalwood, violet and vanilla from start to finish. An awesome scent and a vanilla, violet and sandalwood bomb. A must have Rating Scent: 8.25/10 Presentation/Design: 8/10 Longevity/Performance: 8/10: Lasted on my skin/skin scent around between 8-10+ hrs Value: 8/10 Overall: 8.25/10 My SOTD (Scent of the Day): Gianfranco Ferre L'Uomo EDT: As of 02/27/19 Revisiting this scent as my SOTD as of 02/27/19, my 2nd wearing of this fragrance. A surprising scent for me it has that A&F First Intinct/First Instinct Extreme similar vibe/scent. My nose detects the vanilla, sandalwood and violet which dominates from the opening and the dry down, but I do detect on the top note the bergamot, ginger, cardamom and hint of the black pepper. A great and superb scent and a hidden gem, and as well a great value/bargain. Longevity/Performance is 9 out of 10, lasted on my skin as a skin scent around 10-12+ hrs and my overall score is still the same 8.25 out of 10. It will be in my rotation for spring/summer and is a must a have.

Im coming to the point in my life that is very difficult for me to get really impressed by new scents anymore. Saw this one for dirt cheap, and well, took the plunge. When I finally test it, something not common happened. I got extremely impressed from the scent, and it’s been a long time since that happened to me!. It is a sweet violet, very wet and alive, with some spices there, and then it dries down to a semi sweet Woody and vanilla scent. Not dark, there is still freshness there. In a way, the gradient of color in the bottle shows how the actual scent behaves. Not really blue, but from almost transparent to a darker scent. It’s beyond me how this superb scent is not recognizable in the community at all!. Long lasting and projects for 3-4 hours. So......this quickly became one of my top 10 scents at the moment, top 5 really!. Impressive, nothing else to add.

Gianfranco Ferré's fashion is italian perfection. His fragrances usually also are awsome. L'uomo is no exception. Not heavy nor sweet but a real high class fragrance for men. I guess 25-90 gentlemen. I love both the bottle & smell. First sniff made me think of Givenchy. Hours later I would describe it as a soft fresher Guerlain l'habbit rouge with a very little bit of Dior's Fahrenheit on a drydown flirting with Chanel's Egoiste! Conclusion; avoid it if you dislike those fragragrances & go for it if liking one of those. Wearing it by day or during the summer is very possible, see it as your clothes & activities. Just not recommended as a fresh sporty summer cologne!
