GMV Donna

I have the real original thing from '80s of this, same bottle shape different colour. It's dark golden amber with black cap. Honestly I don't know why most designers feel this urge to change their beautiful original perfumes into generic bland scents after that period. Maybe IFRA... The original is a glorious example of those years of opulence and feminity and very longlasting. It's a beautiful big floral blend with a little spice and a real stuff drydown with ambery tones, gentle woods and a little vanilla. It's warm and ladylike and sensual. No more sold anywhere.

This is certainly a more easy-going floral. Even more in the direction of a fruity-floral; albeit a more advanced one: the freesia are quite distinct and in contrast to the base notes quite detectable. The moss and later the incense are nothing seriously to consider - they don't deepen or influence the fragrance strongly, just round the one floral note up a bit. Besides the floral there is the peachy-cream (could be apricot,too - but one of these fruits) that manages to direct the seriousness of too much white florals in a more casual direction. The fragrance is still somewhat classic and mature, but it isn't a floral which you can only wear occasionally. To work or to a evening at the cinema - it fits anywhere... I find some similarities to Hugo Boss "Woman", but it is no Doppelgänger... A bit more refined as that one too.

There was another perfume called Donna by Gian Marco Venturi same bottle and shape, different colors, orange/persimmon stopper, black neck, darker juice. Top notes of patchouli and coriander, heart notes of carnation and lily of the valley on woody chypre vanilla notes as base. On internet is written that was made in 1994, but it was officially made in 1991, I have magazines which proves it. It is a warm rich fragrance, make you smile, Beguin green, next explosion of flowers, full spring in Italy, ends with honeyed vanilla and dark woody notes. To me, in some way, smell like a big big white lily. Lovely
