#88 of My Fragrance Journey - Giardini Di Toscana Almafolia: The Gilded Presence Light breaks first. A thin line across the dark - then warmth follows. You don't so much spray Almafolia as step into it. It arrives like a glow already waiting on your skin. Electric at the edges, softened at the centre. Alive, but controlled. Tuberose opens it - lit from within, diffused, almost humid. Never sharp, never green. Peach presses close and orange lifts it, and suddenly the air feels charged, like sunlight caught just before it turns hot. Brightness with weight. Light you can actually feel. Then it deepens. Slow, deliberate. Jasmine, ylang-ylang, and white rose are blooming thicker now. Cream folds in - coconut, but not loud, more like a texture than a note. Everything softens... but also expands. The glow turns denser, warmer, closer to the body. There's a tension in it. Radiance held just beneath the surface, not quite breaking through. As it settles, the light lowers but doesn't disappear. Amber hums. Vanilla breathes against the skin. Benzoin and rosewood ground it - resinous, slightly shadowed - keeping the warmth from slipping into something flat. It lingers like heat after sunset. Not bright anymore. Still pulsing. When it works, it really works. It wraps. It radiates. It stays. But not all light is forgiving. Push it too far, and the glow thickens into something heavy - almost artificial. The tuberose can feel inflated, too polished, like light bouncing off glass instead of skin. In close spaces, it loses air. What was luminous turns static. One spray. Maybe two. This isn't a fragrance you layer on - it's one you let arrive. Almafolia isn't subtle, and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a body of light you carry with you - warm, creamy, slightly surreal. Worn with restraint, it doesn't announce. It hums. Vibe: Late afternoon gold. Cream and tuberose and something almost too beautiful to be accidental. Performance: Strong. This thing clings - in the best way, mostly. If I had to describe Almafolia with an image, it would be that of a tropical garden at dusk, where the heat of the sun trapped in the petals of the white flowers begins to release in a dense, sweet and almost hypnotic aura. Launched in 2023, this fragrance confirms Silvia Martinelli's talent in creating fragrances that do not go unnoticed, capable of combining extreme persistence and an emotional olfactory narrative. The first spray is a fruity explosion. The peach and sweet orange soften the initial vehemence of the tuberose, making it juicy and inviting. The Heart: This is where the magic happens. Tuberose intertwines with ylang-ylang and coconut, creating an accord that borders on the world of luxury sunscreen, but with superior complexity given by rosewood and a clean touch of white rose. The closure is warm and reassuring. Vanilla and benzoin create an amber, slightly resinous base that seals the white flowers on the skin for hours, while white musk keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying. It is an extroverted, joyful and sensual fragrance. If you love "sunny" perfumes that smell of Italian holidays, skin warmed by the sun and flowers in full bloom, this is a masterpiece to have in your collection. Almafolia is gorgeous tropical fleshy tuberose ylang-ylang with creamy vanilla and coconut. Yes - VERY strong perfume. 1-2 sprays creates a lot of sillage and lasts a LONG LONG time. Must LOVE tuberose and ylang-ylang. The sweet tuberose here is married with ylang-ylang creating a fleshy tropical white/yellow floral combination. Initial spray is quite strong. For comparison - the strength and tuberose opens kind of, just a bit of similarly to what you smell in MoonBloom or Amarige but it is a bit sweeter, more tropical like, with a lot of ylang-ylang. After a good solid 30 min to hour...... the fragrance becomes more creamy and you pick up some of the woody notes. The dry down is even more creamy sweet and is giving me vibes of Intense Tiare somewhat but w/ tuberose/ylangylang, and the dry down just lasts forEVER. For me, this is one of those scents that needs a full wear from first sniff to very end dry down to fall in LOVE. Almafolia is fancy, perfumey, dressed up, sexy, tropical. Bora Bora is beachy, lighter, easy everyday summertime white floral tropical.

This is one of those rare retro composition that doesn't smell fully retro. I find it more yellow flower centered than white. Very non-linear, goes through multiple phases, as opposed to the rest of the collection. It's not really for me though, but worth a sniff if the profile or notes appeal to you, it's well done EDIT: Well, it might actually be for me. I was not convinced because I found the fruity notes too strong, and I don't do fruity, but they really blend in smoothly in hot humid weather

Almafolia is my favourite scent of the whole Giardini Di Toscana range! It has a strong opening of flowers BUT if you can wait til the drydown - that is where the magic happens! The dry down is absolutely beautiful, it is sweet, coconuty and highly addictive. It leaves the most cocooning scent trail, that I always get complimented on. It's feminine, luminous, and fresh all at the same time, with some musk in the dry down. Worth every cent! The staying power is very long lasting.

First reaction from Giardini Di Toscana sample kit: stunning!😍 Reminds me of a tea scent in the best way. Opening is heavy with lovely peachy tuberose and jasmine blend. As this dries down this beautiful rose tea scent becomes the most detectable blend. Can't wait to try this on my skin and test it in warm weather.

I adore this fragrance! The white florals are so perfectly balanced with the creamy fruits! It is such a masterpiece in my opinion and I don’t think it gets the love it deserves. It’s one of my most balanced white floral... and I love the hint of green it has...for me it’s just an olfactory delight👃

love this scent! the orange in the opening is very pleasant, but i don’t get any peach or coconut at all. it’s very tuberose heavy, but i love tuberose so i don’t mind. it kind of gives me the vibe of mediterranean grandma soap, but in a good way.

I get gardenia way more then ylang ylang and tuberose - either way I love it, its soft, creamy, reminds me of warm summers at night. There is also the creamy almond-coconut accord that I really enjoy as well.

WOAH the opening was not my favorite; it comes off as a very strong orangey woody scent, but as it dries down, the juicy peach, jasmine, and tuberose jump right out. I loooooove the way this develops.

This is sooo goood I had to RUN to write a comments...the opening is fresh, and the dry down is GORGEOUS and I dont like tuberose usually at all, but this is great stuff

The opening is strange and too strong for me, but after some time it smells like 1992 Purple Night by Les Bains Guerbois an I love it. Also the longevity is amazing.

Sweet, White floral, tuberose, warm, vanilla, citrusy, bright, yellow floral, woody, powdery, coconut, creamy, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, radiant, luminous, lush, cozy, comforting On me this opens with a bright and citrusy burst of sweet orange, just a whisper of peach, and creamy, bubblegum-y tuberose. As it dries down the tuberose and sweet orange stay prominent, and are joined by exotic ylang ylang, lush jasmine, creamy coconut, and a touch of rosewood. The sweet orange and tuberose remain prominent throughout the dry down while gaining sensual vanilla bean, the golden warmth of amber, a soft touch of powdery musk, and some cozy benzoin. Overall, the notes that are the most prominent on me are the sweet orange, tuberose, and vanilla bean, followed by the amber, coconut, and ylang ylang This one really surprised me! A friend of mine sent me a decant of this along with a whole box of amazing fragrances. When I first sniffed the bottle I was sure there was a good dose of lemon in this. Even when I first sprayed it I was surprised that I was reminded quite a bit of D&G Devotion. Like a tuberose version of it though. As it started drying down it started leaning more towards a mixture of Devotion and D&G The Only One Intense. I also have Celeste and Bianco Latte, both of which really enjoy! They’re actually some of my favorite fragrances, and Celeste is something that I’ve been wearing an absolute ton lately. This is an earthy tuberose, and admittedly, it caught me off guard. I’ve smelled countless tuberose–ylang-ylang pairings lately; sometimes even softened with orange blossom; but this one feels different. Stranger. Almost over-natural, to the point of being uncomfortable. At first, it felt as if the flower were dying; withered, decaying, freshly uprooted from the soil. That rawness gave me pause. It’s not romantic, not polished, and certainly not easy. Edit: It started to grow on me. Slowly. Revisiting it with fresh skin and an open mind, I now perceive an opening dominated by an intensely earthy, indolic tuberose, almost excessive in its naturalism. As it develops, a bubblegum-like resinous facet emerges, paired with a restrained sweetness. The indolic side of ylang-ylang is also present, contributing to a beauty that feels odd, even slightly disturbing; but undeniably compelling. Compared to the rest of the house’s lineup, this feels like the least synthetic creation, with a DNA that clearly stands apart. If you appreciate the tension between Carnal Flower and Marfa; that push and pull between lush florals and unsettling realism; this may resonate with you as well. Giardini di Toscana is a niche family brand from Tuscany, Italy. This fragrance centers on tuberose. In the world of white florals, tuberose is hardly a new theme, but the tuberose here isn’t the kind you come across every day. The structure doesn’t feel especially approachable at first. When you spray it, the combination of tuberose, peach, and sweet orange bursts out all at once. It’s a bit raw, even slightly sticky, with a hint of earthy green notes mixed in. It can make you hesitate for a moment, though not quite enough to wash it off immediately. After about ten minutes the scent begins to shift into the heart. A creamy coconut-milk nuance starts to appear, while white rose, jasmine, and ylang-ylang gradually support the composition. They pull the tuberose away from its more primal edge, making it softer, more feminine, and easier to wear. The drydown becomes warm, close to the skin, and very diffusive. It leaves a soft, hazy trail with an almost milky quality. The longevity is excellent—on my skin it lasts at least eight hours. As a side note, the brand’s body lotion is also excellent. I received a few samples when buying the perfume and ended up using them all.

I have this from the discovery set . I'm working my way through them and so far I've tried this and four others. I'm kinda late.to the party with this brand ,I know . However ,I will say so far I've pretty much enjoyed them all . This one in particular is STRONG initially, the dry down takes a while and there's an effervescence about it . I do feel that bianco latte and this layered would be amazing together ( I'll give it a try tomorrow ) possibly a complete disaster but I'm.willing to give this a bash . Yes the tuberose is prominent and a little much to.much at 1st but maybe with some of the vanilla of the bianco it will soothe it down a bit . All in.all though ,it's wearable for me anyway ,but only just a touch no overspraying required or i could imagine it being headache inducing for some . I'd rate blu mar from the same house above this mind you . Like I said I'm working through them. Would I buy a full bottle ? Possibly. I do think if you are considering the notes in this . Buy the set 1st and go.from there . The best thing perfume houses have done is tester sets. I hope alot more follow suit .

FIRST IMPRESSION... This is an almost indolic white+yellow floral and I actually like that. GIARDINI does make a good perfume. I can smell the quality of the ingredients or oils they're using and I appreciate that. This definitely reminds me of Bora Bora. They have a DNA for sure. The more this dries down on my skin - the more it develops into something truly beautiful. Definitely feminine, but not shy. Thank God the tuberose is not bubblegumy - I'm sure the other florals are helping keep that at bay. Personally I wish there was an extra dose of Peach and Coconut in this to make it perfect. Right now it is just a like. I'm hoping with more wears I will grow to love it. Will come back and update.

Almafolia is a tuberose through and through! If you like tuberose, you might like this. Or you might not, like me! Let me explain what I mean by that... I love tuberose flower and most of its interpretations in perfumery. In the case of Almafolia, I don’t really love it because it’s a waxy tuberose. It’s not fresh or green or bubblegum tuberose it’s waxy and fruity, with a strong peach, mandarin, rose and woody background, which turns out not to be my favourite combo to mix tuberose with. On the positive front, it’s warm, creamy and long lasting. The sillage is good as well, so if you like the way it smells, you have a great performer in Almafolia.

Delicious. The opening is like a sweeter and less mentholated tuberose as experienced in Carnal Flower, it’s green notes raised like spines and a cape of golden sweet fruity florals in support. The mid feels like a more distinct and sweeter/fruity Bora Bora merging with the green tuberose. Captivating, bold and direct. A stunner. I need a bigger decant before I buy directly from the brand and ship ❤️ For me I see no connection to Marfa which is spicier, sweeter and more demure. This is seriously grown, sexy and knows her own mind.

Almafolia is a summery fresh scent while being quite sweet and vanilla based all the way through. I’m not very into sweet/sugary/girly scents on myself, so this being more unisex and citrusy is what makes it wearable for me. All of the GdT fragrances are made unisex if I remember correctly, Almafolia would still be more feminine leaning in their collection imo. It’s definitely a lot better on the skin, I sampled it on paper first and I wasn’t sure if I would like it and now it’s definitely growing on me.

Testing my sample; fruity-floral bonanza, sweet tuberose in sweet citrus becomes sweet tuberose wrapped up in ylang & coconut. Gets more vanillic as it dries down, a touch woody, but so very sweet and strong. Think Marfa slathered in a coconut ylang suncream on holiday. Perfect for warm weather, and hot summer nights. Projects very strongly, a little definitely goes a long way.

It has a very interesting, classic cologne opening in the air. On the skin it is completely different, as if it is not the same scent. Regardless, it is a nice tuberose dominant scent, which gives us a real vintage effect. In the drydown, it starts to sweeten a few hours later and becomes even creamier. Completely unisex, both ladies and gentlemen can wear it easily.

Great opening, super fresh white flowers and ylang yland, not heady at all, with a vanilla softness (similar to Bianco Latte), however, after an hour it settles down to powdery tuberose similar to Fracas. I really an't wear Fracas, this this is a no from me. Also, as someone else mentioned, similar to Bora Bora. Get your nose on it for sure! Solid longevity after 4h.

Almafolia reminds me of Fredric Malle Carnal Flower, but without the sharp green edge—smoother, creamier, and more effortless from the start. The tuberose is rich yet soft, with a sunlit, almost tropical warmth. If you love white florals but want something a little heavier and head turning- this one’s a beauty.

its pleasant, but i dont think i personally would wear it? i think my mama would like this one, classy and feminine and not cloying or an assault on the nostrils. smells like a clean put together lady

It smells waxy. Like crayons or candles. That would be exactly what I describe this scent as.

La prima impressione se spruzzato su un cartoncino è di un profumo un po' vintage e pesca molto dolce, gelsomino e legno. Con il passare dei minuti diventa più bilanciato e si riesce ad appezzare anche un sentore di rosa. Avviso che la vostra esperienza potrebbe essere molto diversa. L'ho provato insieme a una mia amica e su di lei il profumo si evolve in modo più acidulo e floreale, anche se la pesca continua a fare da padrone non è altrettanto dolce, e si riesce ad apprezzare un lieve sentore di cocco e arancia. Su di me invece è più legnoso, amaro, pungente in modo chimico e oleoso, a mio parere un po' troppo vecchio stile. My first impression when I sprayed it on a paper blotter was of a slightly vintage fragrance with a very sweet peach note, jasmine, and woody accords. As the minutes passed, it became more balanced, and I was able to pick up a hint of rose as well. Keep in mind that your experience may be very different. I tested it alongside a friend, and on her skin the fragrance developed into something more tart and floral. Although the peach remained the dominant note, it wasn't nearly as sweet, and there were subtle hints of coconut and orange. On my skin, however, it became woodier, more bitter, and had a sharp, almost chemical, oily quality that, in my opinion, felt a bit too old-fashioned and ultimately not very pleasent.

I sampled and wore a large decant of Almafolia a few months back. Couldn't get the fragrance off my mind. When I spotted a pretty good online deal for a full 100ml bottle, I purchased Giardini Di Toscana Almafolia!! GdT Almafolia is unlike any other tuberose fragrance I've recently sampled and/or own. Almafolia is definitely a unique, tuberose-forward fragrance. Almafolia's opening is an interesting & unique balance of tuberose, some peach (I suppose) a bit of orange and a hefty dose of ylang-ylang. The opening is effervescent and actually feels mentholated. Full tuberose emerges, which is slightly indolic and a bit camphoric but not super-green, nor bitter. The tuberose in this fragrance is NOT sweet, sugary, or syrupy but more chewy and rubbery. I also detect mixed yellow florals and something balsamic, spicy. As the fragrance settles down and performs on skin, rosewood, amber and musk merge with the florals. Fortunately, if coconut is present, it's barely detectable. In a weird sort of way, Almafolia reminds me of a VERY DIALED BACK and more wearable Franck Boclet "Cocaine."

This is potent stuff. The opening makes me gag (oh, the drama), but the perfume left on my hand after wiping it away is a very different scent to me. I love tuberose, but I find peach a challenge. This feels on the verge of being a loud and abundant yellow floral, but in small doses it’s a very radiant tuberose. Not one I would stretch to a full bottle of, and my sample sprayer has broken so I can’t smell it again, but if you enjoy a vibrant vintage floral, you might love this.

I was excited about this because of the tuberose, but also not a big fan of peach. It is best described as, like a previous commenter said, vintagey. Which is not a bad thing, just doesn't feel like me. The tuberose is very minimally bubblegummy. The longevity is very good and it is quite pleasant when it dries down.

This is tuberose to the max. This fragrance has vintage vibes of screechy flowers that might feel heavy in the opening, but it dries down to that old-fashioned, creamy tuberose smell that is rather not a safe blind-buy. I would see it join the collection of Charlotte Tilbury's fragrances.

Straight after first sniff I said immediately No! It is a bit heavy and very retro fragrance, but then I started recognising similarities with my beloved Marfa by Memo. Still prefer the latter but Almafolia is growing on me, perhaps I need to give it more time.

White florals and peach, its it okay but nothing special

I should preface this by saying that I love tuberose, a good tuberose would rank among one of my favourite smells on the planet. Unfortunately, it’s a very temperamental note, one which very commonly turns sour and unpleasant in the wrong hands - such is the case here. Tuberose is at the front and centre of the scent, but it’s overly thick, dense and dry. Combined with the ylang and particularly the rosewood and vanilla, the end result is far too sweet and becomes sickly. Peach and a hint of coconut take this a step further until it becomes wholly unpleasant. Overall, I really dislike it. This simply doesn’t smell like a well put together fragrance - it comes across messy and abrasive, and quite frankly it smells cheap. This is not a tuberose I could ever bring myself to wear.

I've smelled fragrances with a tuberose note but this is the first fragrance where tuberose is the main player. Reviewing this as a designated unisex fragrance and as a man, I would never be caught wearing Almafolia. It's a creamy synthetic mess. At it's best, this is a feminine fragrance but one that I wouldn't want to smell on my girl friend either. It almost brings to mind a grandma scent but it just smells too synthetic for that. All in all, not good. Fortunately, I was suspicious and only sprayed the back of one hand, so it was easy to scrub off. Projection was quite good, but didn't leave it on to really rate the longevity.

Oh no! This is tuberose done poorly :( smelling off a sample from a discovery set, the tuberose is extremely potent and nothing else comes through. Like most GDT perfumes, there is one note that comes through and overpowers everything else so a pass for me. If you are looking for a classy, sophisticated tuberose perfume, try BDK's Tubereuse Imperiale. There is something almost stinky to my nose in Almafolia, like when tuberose flowers go bad once you've had them in a vase for a long time, it has a whiff of something bitter or even a bit sour, definitely not a blind buy scent so be careful.

Wouldnt say vintage mature, but sadly more of a retired and retro! Except for initial 10 minutes after opening when there was something unidenticably interesting, its all the time very classical vanilla/caramelo candle degraded with a rose that was here million times before...why? Unless you are hunting some older scent your grandma loved and wants to recollect some memories, do not go this way unless 100% sure and tested in shop. Sorry

First spray and it's terribly nauseating, an overtly sweet peach. Makes me wonder what it would smell like without it, because overall the rest would work well together. On paper that peach is fighting so hard I wonder why you'd even add it, but on skin it's not as sickly, though it's certainly still there. If the peach didn't linger so long this would have been an easy 8/10.

This smells exactly like the airfreshener that made me leave my Airbnb and book a hotelroom instead, the smell was so nauseating that I just could not stay there... The scent stays pretty linear, so the drydown has not changed my mind, a big no from me.

Smells like a field of yellow flowers...that a cat recently urinated in...baking under the August sun on a humid day. As one might gather, it’s a no for me.

I found this fragrance to be so piercing. It's very green and florally, and not in a good way. This is the only fragrance I had to wash off. I'm trying to pick out the note that I find absolutely revolting. Maybe it's the palisander rosewood because I don't mind all of the other florals in other fragrances. Having the discovery set I find Bianco latte and Bora Bora are the best from this house. Those two fragrances are divine. Edit: I think it might be the tuberose, it's front and center of this fragrance. Not nice 🤢

Well, this is a product of enthusiastic florist. I was impressed by zesty, sparkling and juicy top notes but then, the combination of strong jasmine, ylang-ylang and tuberose covered it. There was no developing. It was like a weighty blanket: I felt captive in neverending indolic tuberose scent. The base of benzoin and musk doesn't make it softer. Not again, really.

this smells so bitter. i can't explain it, but it smells the smell that ladybirds produce as a defense

this is truly horrifying. truly. it smells like rotting flowers. scrubber.

Opening is very nice. Smells like mastic gum desserts you can get in turkey. But it quickly dries down into this typical bubblegum scent. I find bubblegummy tuberoses to be kind of... useless? Like why would you take such an interesting flower and make it smell like everything BUT tuberose? You might as well just use bubblegum accord if you want to make bubblegum perfume. It totally lacks the heady, carnal and green aspects of the flower and just smells like a generic sweet body spray. Not much else sadly. I was hoping something better, i enjoyed this brands other perfumes. The longevity is alright but it becomes a ghost fragrance. Like in 2 hours itll just smell like floral sweet bubblegum but very faint. Not full bodied whatsoever

Tuberose is undoubtedly one of the main flowers of perfumery: disturbing, seductive, rich in mystical meanings. Used by the Aztec people, forbidden flower in the Renaissance, the protagonist of every bridal chamber in India: its scent does not go unnoticed. I find the tuberose in this fragrance particular: initially exotic, but with a melancholic undertone, I find it nostalgic, like a reminiscence of a passion now over, the memory of which brings to mind the sensations and shivers experienced, with the awareness that they will never return . “Nostalgia was a vice of her soul. SOTD Almafolia by Giardini Di Toscana 3.5/5 First impression is white floral heavy and a bit powdery. It is fairly unique and smells pleasant with a 3ft sillage for about an hour then fades to a skin scent. Smells floral but not like most florals that I’m used to smelling in perfume so far. The amber and florals are delightful. Not getting much of the coconut, peach, or sweet orange fruity notes. Not a purchase for me since spouse doesn’t like it very much. I could see it being a signature scent for others. Working through a purchased discovery set of the Giardini Di Toscana perfume house. Wore at home.

Almafolia is not the big scarry perfume I was expecting from some reviews. I bought it blind because I love the brand, I have few others that I love. Almafolia is a little vintagey in the beginning, for few minutes, very aromatic, and the changes to what I remeber it resembles to Madonna Truth or dare, but more refined. Is not a loud perfume, it's a calm and gentle creamy feminine white floral fruity and vanilla. For me I prefer Borabora any time and Bianco latte in the winter.

Almafolia Overall: 4/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10 Comments: Almafolia is a tuberose bomb. It definitely has around 6ft of projection. However, I am not really a fan of tuberose or ylang ylang which is the strongest middle note. Overall, this isn't for me, but I'll give it some bonus points for having more fire power than the other fragrances from Giardini Di Toscana.

I got a free sample of this when I bought Celeste and it is a hard no for me. In saying that it's purely because this is a white floral, tuberose and ylang ylang bomb and I am not the target audience for this type of fragrance because I do not like white tropical flowers. If you love white tropical florals and are on the lookout for one, this would be the perfect perfume for you.
