Blu Indaco

If you are looking for a fragrance that smells like a "luxurious embrace", Blu Indaco by Giardini Di Toscana is probably one of the best candidates on the market. Silvia Martinelli has created a perfume that masterfully plays on the contrast between freshness and an almost edible creaminess. Don't let the name "Blue" fool you. It is not a marine or aquatic scent. The opening is sparkling thanks to Bergamot and Pink Pepper, but it is the Frangipane that immediately gives an exotic and sunny touch. It's a bright start that sets the stage for the real protagonist. Here Blue Indigo reveals its true soul. The combination of Almond and Vanilla creates a "fine pastry" effect. However, it is not a cloying or childish sweetness; the almond has that bitter and powdery edge that makes it extremely refined and adult. It's a velvety feel, similar to marzipan but much airier. The magic happens in the dry-down. The Ambroxan and Musk prevent the vanilla from becoming too heavy. These ingredients "fix" the fragrance on the skin, giving it an aura of crystalline cleanliness and modernity that balances the sweetness of the heart. Blu Indigo is the ideal choice if you love almondy and powdery perfumes but are looking for something more modern than the classics of perfumery. It is a "comfortable" fragrance: it makes you feel tidy, sophisticated and wrapped in a cloud of balanced sweetness. Unlike its very famous "brother" Bianco Latte (from the same brand), which is pure vanilla and caramel, Blu Indigo is more faceted, less sugary and decidedly more unisex.

An almond lovers wet dream A fizzy, fresh, and slightly floral bergamot and almond opening that dries down powdery, musky, and sweet. The focus never leaving the almond, but rather filling out the edges with clean white musks, vanilla powdered sugar, and an unmistakable yet unmentioned creamy iris. To be fair, almond is one of my favorite smells ever, so I may be a little biased but this is a very very good fragrance for any almond lovers like myself out there. Starts off super fresh and uplifting, and while it never loses its baby powder-esque cleanliness, the sweet vanilla/almond/iris combo is really really sexy. Because of this, it’s surprisingly versatile, as it’s clean and inoffensive enough to be worn to the office, yet sexy and sweet enough to be worn going out. One of, if not my current favorite from the house, and it deserves more attention and hype. Definitely recommend picking up a sample of this, whatever you identify as. Very good longevity with strong projection for the first hour or so then moose rate projection for another 4 or so hours. 9.5/10. Signature scent worthy. Song vibe - Might Be by Anderson .Paak TLDR - Supremely versatile almond focused fragrance that opens fresh and bright, but drying down sweet and inviting. A must smell if you’re an almond fan.

I will call Blu Indaco the most underrated perfume from Giardini di Toscana. It’s the fluffiest, coziest, most delicate, clean musk, slightly tropical, almondy/nutty/powdery scent from the brand. For those who like white, clean musk, almonds and tropical flowers, Blue Indaco is a must try! It’s one of those your skin but better fragrances, soft and enveloping, gentle like a loved one embrace. Comforting and mildly sweet, a creamy vanilla base add another gourmand layer to the composition. It gives me marzipan vibes as it sits on the skin for a few hours, but I am somewhere around the tropics, surrounded by frangipani flowers everywhere. It’s not a gourmand per se, through and through, it’s rather a more multifaceted perfume: a third it’s a clean, musky scent, another third a transportive tropical floral, and then another third it’s a delicious gourmand. As with Colonia Nobile and Scintilla, Blu Indaco is an instant love and a future purchase for me. I genuinely believe that if you like perfumes like Prada’s Infusion d’Amande, Carner’s Tardes, Boucheron’s Tonka di Canaima or BDK’s Velvet Tonka, to name a few that I own or tested, there’s no way you wouldn’t like Blue Indaco. Beautiful scent like all the above, but with a exotic floral touch. It’s gorgeous!

Oh my, what a masterpiece. I do have a personal preference of powdery/musky/vanilla/almond perfumes. At first, this opens with a strong blast of bergamot and it is a bit masculine. I really thought I might not like it. As it wore on my skin, I get the most comforting and delicious powdery almond. It has a bit of musk too. This fragrance would put me right to sleep. Imagine if you mixed L’occitane almond oil with expensive baby powder. Delicious. I personally love powder fragrances, so I get this may polarizing. A similar low cost alternative would be Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Poudree, but only on the middle/base notes, not top notes. For reference, my favorite fragrances are: Bianco Latte, Celeste (masterpiece), Dama Bianca, Angelique Noire, Vanille Planifolia, Matcha Soft Serve, Escapade Gourmand, Angel Dust, Ghost in the Shell, Cry Baby.

Like breaking apart a pignoli cookie (marzipan and pine nut) and jasmine, honeysuckle, and frangipani blossoms fall out. It reads as a creamy, slightly musky, gourmand tropical floral, so it does not necessarily remind me of the color indigo in a literal sense--it makes me imagine the color ivory with light yellow edges like a frangipani blossom. However, it does evoke a similar feeling to Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue with the soothing and chewy vanilla in the base--it does remind me of that "blue hour," and the sense of daytime closing, time to yourself, and impending nightfall. Just to be clear, these two fragrances do not smell alike, but they do project a similar mood. Sillage and lasting power is decent. I can smell this without having to put my wrist to my nose.

I got a discovery set from GdT. Most of the scents are nice and wearable, but this one is the one that really stood out. Not at all my type of scent. Looking at the listed notes I should not get much from this, but it really snared me. Musk and almond are the main players and there is quite a bit of pink pepper in the opening. Vanilla is there, but more in the background. Frangipani I don’t get at all on my skin. Longevity and projection is good, not the very best, but good. The overall impression is very unique. It doesn’t remind me of anything I’ve tried really. It has a dressy vibe to it, but very sexy and cosy at the same time. It’s pretty much dead center unisex, if not leaning a tad bit masculine. I ordered a bottle immediately.

I ordered the sample kit from Giardini di Toscana, fully expecting Bianco Latte and Borabora to be my favorites (I do enjoy Borabora but am not bowled over by it, and Bianco Latte smells confusingly of very little to me; still testing that one out). Much to my surprise, it's Blu Indaco that has won my heart! It's so marzipan-y, almond-croissant-y yet not overly sweet -- due to the gorgeous addition of lemon and musk; it makes you feel like you're sitting in the most lovely little cafe in Tuscany enjoying a cappuccino with an almond pastry on a bright, sunny morning, all the problems of the world can wait. This one is the stuff of dreams, and the first one from Giardini di Toscana I'm gonna need a bottle of!

Lemon forward, takes a while to settle. The almond arrives very late and won't stay long either. Definitely an "I want to smell it on you" kind of scent, but with just a tinge of a synthetic feel. I get the whole lemony cleaning product vibe, and the bergamot (+frangipani), and pink pepper combination somehow enforces this for longer than their individual projections, which makes the sweetness fight through in the most subtle way. Later, I'm amazed I don't find it as repulsive as expected. It still gives off a cleaning product essence, but sweet almond is saving it (somehow). I'll try this through the week and see how it goes. So far, not bad. 7/10

This is a beautiful fragrance - if you give it a chance. I had the Giardini Di Toscana discovery set, and Blu Indaco was one that I thought was just ok. But I gave it a few days, and by the end, I had fallen in love with it. It is such a comforting, addicting, cozy scent that I like to wear in the cooler months, or to bed, or when I want to cuddle up and relax. I do get the reference that it smells like baby powder, but in a very elevated way! It's like a powdery cloud, I've since bought a full bottle and reach for this often in winter / autumn. I always get complimented when I wear this. The longevity is crazy long, so a little goes a long way.

This strikes me as a mildly floral, slightly spicy and warm almond fragrance. It is actually very pretty and great for fall. The pepper provides just a touch a touch of warm spice, and the choice of bergamot with the frangipani pair well together. This house has several great offerings, and if you like a warm amber floral, this is a great choice. There is something very memorable and slightly melancholic about this - definitely smells like an indigo blue. I think this is a heavier scent, so probably best for all months except summer, and I feel any age with a mature (not old) attitude will rock this well. Lean's feminine in my opinion. Enjoy!

I smell like a gorgeous almondy soft cloud of gentle sweetness and softness. The pepper adds a bright burst to the opening. I also get the color blue, because in the background there is a fresh watery citrus presence with the frangipani and bergamot. The florals bring a feminine elegance. I also get a layered and clean musky freshness that is further enhanced with the almond note. This almond note brings a smooth richness and slight powder. Very gentle and clean sweet powdery fragrance. I really enjoy this. If Bianco Latte is too plain vanilla for you, and you don't want the violet candy note of Celeste, try this one. I really like it!

What an amazing scent! I like this better than bianco latte and bora bora. It is more than an intimate scent but not loud either. Very elegant and classy. If you are someone who like powdery scent, this is it. And it is the doll head fragrance of all doll head fragrances. It opens citrusy but fades into a magnificent almondy, floral beauty. Very cozy and cloud like. If I had to put this in a category, I would nestle it right between Xerjoff's lira, mixed with Fiore D'ulivo. It is a true beauty indeed and if you love this line, you will find this one is the best!!!

Why is this so lovely! I need a full bottle soon :-) It’s creamy sweet, but not too much, a little bit citrusy and a very cozy scent. I have Iperborea Lorenzo Villoresi on one wrist and Blu Indaco on the other and the latter, after half of an hour or so, smells very similar to Iperborea, but it is sweeter and more intense. Edit: After wearing Iperborea one day and Blu Indaco on another day I have to admit they are actually too different to speak about similarities at all. Blu Indaco has a very modern feel to it, while Iperborea feels much more classic...

LOve love love and LOOOVE so more. I will start by saying that if you don't like powdery scents, stay away. Its very deliciously powdery, creamy, a beautiful soft vanilla and almonds scents that project! Its like the MOST beautiful sweet baby powder scent, I was confused by the first spray. Its not that sweet, but soon it transforms to this LOVELY scent. So far I love all my 3 Giardini di toscana perfumes! I want more! I have Bianco latte, Bianco Oro and now Blu indaco. I want Celeste and Bora Bora, i will eventually have them all

I'm so on the fence with this one. I love the first sniff but if I accidentally overspray I choke. You need to be gentle with this one. It has a "fresh cream" vibe to it. It's like a very chalky hand creme owned by an old rich woman but I'm kinda here for it. Very comforting and fresh. So much powder. Love it. But it can get overwhelming. All in moderation.

For over two decades I spent my summers in Italy and last time, for the first time, I really wanted to find a perfume mimicking the perfume of the frangipani flowers everywhere... I went to Florence and found this perfume. I love it. It's sweet but not too sweet and its powdery and stays the whole day on my skin. I love it.

This is my first niche perfume and I am beyond excited! This is such an elegant, lady-like perfume! I bought this in Italy and immediately got attention for it 😊. I would say it is quite versatile, with an emphasis on cozy elegance. I wouldn’t wear it to the gym or to the grocery store, it is simply too divine for that.

It's a hit or miss, for me it's a hit. Very cold perfume with a very smooth almond and addicting ambroxan+musk. This is the cold sibling of Tardes, which would be the warmer-creamier version. It's sweetness it's subtle but it's there. Def decant before purchasing the whole bottle.

One of my favorites among my favorites ☺️. This just makes me happy. Powdery and fluffy. A tinge of citrus to keep it from going too sweet. It is great alone but also layers well with so many other fragrances. I love to layer it with Molecule Iris and Baby cat in cooler weather.

This is an "elevated" version of Teint De Neige by Lorenzo Villoresi. Both are beautiful.... and this Ione has a very "bright " opening .. Dry-down is basically the same. Very powdery. Gorgeous. Creamy, and sweet. a MUST if you're into powdery perfumes. One of the best out there

I tried this in a discovery set. It’s definitely one of my favorites - very almond-heavy scent. It reminds me of Bianco latte but more almond, and Celeste without the violet note. Gorgeous, cozy, marzipan type of scent. Considering buying a full bottle in the future.

A pretty good substitute for my beloved L'instant Magic. It's more citrusy forward. Also, I noticed that it is a bit on the mothball side, but I think the bottle just needs to settle down. That note wasn't in my sample.

A beautiful powdery almond and for me better than Bianco latte. Smells like baby powder products it is wearable for all seasons and im so glad i blind buying it. The bottles are amazing too. Great price for this beauty.

PERFECT summer fragrance, it reminds me of vacations with my family and just being out in the sun. Love the powdery, floral vanilla scent that seems to come through. Doesn't seem to last very long though.

Love this! Easily my favorite of the GDT line. It's like Talco Delicato was aired outside with clean linens. Lovely, Classy, High-End without punching you in the face. FBW for sure!

this perfume smells like a baby, a clean, soapy, slightly fresh perfume with an almond finish. In my opinion this perfume is a work of art for the olfactory sense.

So far, this has been my favorite almond scent. A soft and powdery almond fragrance. Wearing this scent throughout the day or to bed makes me feel very relaxed.

Smell like almond patisserie, little licorish and powdery. Like an occitaine almond soap when it dries down. Layer havently with bianco latte.

This is stunning on me... Powdery, sweet, but with some bitter undertone which makes it mature and elegant. I love it on my skin!

Another one of my very favourites from this brand. Love this almost marzipan scent, dry, warm and powdery.

The scent is twin to Guerlain's Eau de Lingerie but with staying power. Much prefer it!

I initially sampled Blu Indaco back in the fall of 2024. And here it is August 2025. I recently became intrigued (once again) with mixed (and slightly gourmand) almond-centric fragrances. Edited in August 2025: So, I am wearing Blu Indaco (again) as I write this review. And I am reviewing the fragrance as I suppose it should be: this is an almond-forward, peppery, vanilla perfume with florals (frangipani) and animalic musk. Blu Indaco DEFINITELY has the Bianco Latte DNA with vanilla because there is certainly a vanilla component, or vanilla note in this fragrance. But the vanilla is NOT front-and-center as it is with Bianco Latte. It's ALMOND and frangipani that are the most forward notes in this fragrance, as both fully appear within minutes of application to skin. Within a half-hour or so, the strong frangipani note gives way to a creamy, milky, somewhat bitter-sweet, vanilla-almond accord. And there's musk, of course. At times throughout the wear, the floral-sweet, musky, vanilla notes give me somewhat of a bubble-gum vibe. And while I like Blu Indaco a lot, the drydown feels somewhat juvenile and FLAT to my nose... Nice enough for the right person. Not sure Blu Indaco is full bottle worthy for me...

The opening is bright, with the frangipani and bergamot really standing out. All the top notes compliment each other very nicely. I'm not a huge strong pepper fan, but with this, the pepper is more in the background. As it dries down I can smell the mid notes coming forward. The musk is also more complimentary and doesn't overpower the other notes. As it completely dries down the musk comes more forward, but the bergamot stays strong throughout still having a nice balance. **A couple hours later I now smell the powdery/musk which takes over the scent, but with the pepper and bergmot still going strong. My original thoughts were that this was a bright daytime spring/summer scent with the opening and mid, but the final dry down...still daytime spring/summer, but def a powdery/musk with a slight bright edge to it. It's kind of giving me luxurious, mature woman 60+ vibes. In the beginning and mid I felt it leaned feminine but could be worn by a man, but the final dry down, to me leans completely feminine. If you're not into musky/powdery scents def not a blind buy. I got this in the discovery kit as a sample, which I am happy to smell, but it's not my my vibe for sure.

I haven’t had this on my skin for long, only like 30 minutes, so I might have to update this! This to me smells like an expensive baby powder with a deep vanilla blended in? It doesn’t smell like baby powder as such but is very powdery and reminiscent. I don’t really smell much of the almond unless im actually trying to smell for it. The frangipani is also quite prominent! I’d say it’s been well blended and does smell expensive, 100% worth the price. So far debating whether I’d like this in a larger size (I’ve got a sample)- maybe a little decant, because I do enjoy it, but would definitely not use the whole bottle of it, only occasionally as it’s a scent family that I wouldn’t typically reach for, but very well done✨ Would love to smell it on someone else to see if I like it more that way! 8.5(?)/10💕

I’m getting clean aesthetic vibes. I’m reminded of the light beige bar of soaps that are stored in the hotel rooms - it’s musky, powdery and almondy. Super inoffensive, perfect office fragrance since it’s an intimate scent with light sillage and its smack down unisex. I’m not picking up any specific floral notes but there a dusting of sweetness coming from the frangipani. In the initial spray I smell Froot Loops cereal but after a few minutes it settles down to a fresh clean bathroom scent but in the best way possible 😂. It’s extremely similar to Prada Infusion De Amande but I actually prefer Blu Indaco since I find it more almondy and powdery and it’s not as dry. I ended up purchasing a bottle because I love the simplicity of it but I do recommend to definitely test before blind buying!

An airy almond fragrance, paired with a nostalgic-feeling musk and powder. I suspect there are some large aroma molecules at play here that I can’t fully perceive, so I may be experiencing it only partially; and I’m evaluating it based on what I can actually smell. The structure feels ethereal yet distinctly synthetic, very clean, and faintly eerie. I wore L’Instant Magic by Guerlain (the original release) for years; finished multiple bottles of it, in fact; and this has nothing to do with that. I’ve just got this and have worn it for a day, reapplying it now and then, as it isn’t as loud or as much of a guaranteed compliment-getter on me as Bianco Latte. It stays closer to the skin. It reminds me of the dusty cookies I tasted in Seville, Spain—polvorones. This one has the scent of an almond-dusted cake. It’s pleasant and easy to like if you enjoy almond dust and the signature base of Giardini di Toscana. I’m still in the process of getting to know it, but I can already say that I like it, despite its unusual dustiness. Others seem to be perfectly fine with it, too—though no compliments yet!

beautiful powdery almond with a slight lingering of vanilla but the dry down is straight powder with a hint of plastic (i’m guessing that’s the ambroxan) sad to say i absolutely love it and don’t mind that lingering plastic. this scent is so feminine and soft makes me feel like i’m hugging my best friend after she came back from her hair salon appointment or maybe she was sitting on the bus next to an older woman. something about this scent is so familiar and soft, i do genuinely like it. lasting power is 4-5 hours on skin and projection is well, was complimented by a coworker on it!

To my nose, this starts off very close to Guerlain's L'instant Magic and Aperitivo Milanese Porta Nuova Trussardi, and the drydown is quite similar to that of Joop! Le Bain. Not a bad thing at all , they're all beautiful frags, but if you own those and like having a small collection, I recommend testing instead of blind buying. If you like the scent profile and don't mind overlap, you will probably like this one too. Femenine leaning, great performance all around.

This is the only popular GDT fragrance that I actually like so far, but that being said it smells like baby shampoo. Something very nostalgic and reminiscent of childhood and simpler times. I flip flop from not loving it to really intrigued throughout the day. Not sure if it's FBW but I might get a decant for when the mood strikes. Everything from this house is very sharp and synthetic to me and difficult to love but I don't dislike this one.

This rewiew will be in minority, but I like this perfume. It is excusively about the almond note, which is bitter, soft and in combination with vanilla and musk also milky and creamy. Bergamot and frangipani adds tart aroma, but in general, this fragrance is very sweet and warm. It is sensual but clean. I will wear it during the rainy autumn days, when I seek for comfort and pleasure. :-) --- Projection strong, lasts 5-6hrs.

First spray: Warm citrus, the bergamot really carries the vanilla in this one. I think the top notes were more vanilla heavy and quickly dissolved into powdery citrus only. Alot of baby powder hit my nose fast which i am not a fan of within this perfume. As someone else said it starts off quite masculine but 30 min in quickly dissolves into a feminine vanilla powder. Not my cup of tea, however my dad liked it on me

I smelled this the first time on a man in the heat of summer: absolutely delicious and gorgeous! Much less powdery than it pulls on me (in colder weather). I still enjoy it on me but it absolutely shined on him. I would have pegged this as a feminine scent based on the note profile but it’s anything but! (Just goes to show again that fragrance is unisex). Very good sillage and very long lasting!

This almost smells like a very classy elegant baby powder in the best way or like candied almonds that you would put as a cake topping with lemon glaze. Projection is not very loud and it is definitely more on the intimate side. That being said, this would be okay to wear in the office setting as the musky aspect gives the impression that you just got out of the shower.

This is pretty powdery, which I normally love but it is a little bit too strong. My boyfriend really likes this one, and is his favourite from the sample set I got. I kinda got an oceanic note in here too and I was surprised it wasn't listed on the notes. It kinda smells like period pads? not necessarily in a bad way, just not sure if it's my thing.

Marzipan infused with light florals ground into a fine powder, wears musky and slightly creamy on the skin as it heats up. Perfect all year, I think this would shine in spring or autumn. Not a big projector, but definitely not meant to be. I'd consider a full bottle for this once my sample is finished.

Lol as I was testing this at the store, I liked it but immediately decided no because I already have L'Instant by Guerlain which cannot be topped in my book for this close of a scent profile. But even reminding me of Guerlain should be taken as a compliment!
