Christos

This smells absolutely amazing. It was love at first sniff for me. I immediately found a full bottle after wearing through the sample. This is a full bodied rose, powdery frankincense scent. The amber xtreme reminds me of orris root with a resinous earthiness, accompanied by the sweetened leather of the labdanum. This is extremely powdery. I personally adore Iris and Orris, along with rose and incense. It reminds me of the incense and rose on Xerjoff Irisss. Xerjoff Irisss is one of my favorites as well. This is what I’ve been wanting from a fragrance. This has a presence that is unmatched, in my opinion. Pairs beautifully with other rose fragrances, or carrot or orris fragrances in my chemistry, yet stands so elegantly and beautifully on its own. I truly can not get enough of Christos; I wear it everywhere, even when doing yoga. It’s so calming, yet so lively, yet pure. Truly a masterpiece. It lasts on clothes forever. So glad to have Christos.

Outstanding parfume. This is a sacred travel to the senses. This perfume is truly exceptional, offering a transcendent journey for the senses. I adore its initial gentle embrace, which evolves dramatically, transitioning from the intense, fiery energy of a volcanic landscape to the enchanting allure of an adventure, ultimately culminating in the satisfaction of one's deepest yearnings. Despite not being my preferred scent profile, Christos is my favourite GdT so far. The incense is pretty powerful, lending meaning to the name of the fragrance. There’s something comforting about that religious incense aura (unless you’re triggered by it). Long-lasting in a good way, leaving powdery soft amber in its wake. There is a purity to Christos which evokes a sense of solitude in crowds. GdT is undersold with Bianco Latte as its trademark fragrance. Christos is more complex and beautiful, worthy of respect.

I bought this perfume, and I lovi't. I have around 60 frag ,and this is special for me. It is all about churchie stuff. After 9 years study in orthodox theology ,this is perfect smile for me. Not for modern men. Not for boys. Very strong, harsh, and maybe clinically. After dry down you can feel the dusty incense. Do not blind buy this perfume!!

I really like it, and for me its difficult to like a fragrance, mainly because to me most of them smell basic or floral or citrus and I am tired. this is a unique and interesting smell. Its not basic, and if I can describe it- it smells like a rich orthodox person

This stuff is strong and will last for days on clothing or skin! Peppery smoke and woods, dry and dusty, but in a good way that reminds me of antiquities in the Old World. I've been cherishing my sample so that tells me I will have to buy a full bottle.

Got a sample set and really loved this one, smells exactly like fresh cracked pepper then settles into smokey incense. Honestly I was gonna buy a full bottle until I realised the brand uses AI generated bullshit to advertise their products.

This is very beautyful creamy but not too smoky and spicy flowery frag . Spiritual travel .

Amouage Enclave with a little bit less mint. Perfect!

Once I accept Christos is NOT an incense-focused fragrance, I like the perfume a bit more. But in the end, Christos is just not for me. I consider Christos a balsamic woody-musk fragrance with a slight oriental undertone. To me, Christos is not an incense fragrance, as it is marketed. I recognize certain SYNTHETIC perfume compounds, specifically Exaltolide or Isoambrettolide, add a strong MUSK accord to perfumes; a musk however that is more herbaceous, vegetal, or green (versus clean laundry). I do not know much about Amberxtreme but I'm sure an overdose of this synthetic compound contributes to Christos' challenging nature. Christos opens with an overwhelming pink pepper accord that quickly merges with a bitter citrus-lemon note. A welcome rose note emerges but is immediately overtaken by the spicy and intense lemon-citrus opening. The intense opening slightly yields to a loud, overbearing, sour, EXTREMELY powdery, herbaceous musk accord. This bitter, sour and powdery herbaceous note builds until it completely dominates the fragrance. A bit of sweetened honey (from the labdanum) and a dose of creamy woodiness (from the sandalwood) attempt to smooth out and balance the perfume's roughness. There's a bit of vanilla, some patchouli I suppose. But to my nose, the BITTER, SOUR, HERBACEOUS and POWDERY accord persists and makes this perfume difficult to wear. It's a pass.

I gotta say this fragrance is on the crazy side It’s intense in a way that surprises you or repulses you It depends on your preference or mood There is something unique about this fragrance For example it’s filled with resinous notes and it’s prominent throughout the lifecycle but instead of keeping the resins only it got mixed with rose/patchouli combination which is unbelievably strange ( in a good way) Maybe if I’d chose something on par with it but less intense is the feminine fragrance with the green bottle which its name eludes me But the difference in amouge they overdosed the rose patchouli instead of the resins It’s a good fragrance and the uniqueness intrigues me

This perfume is nicely composed. Very strong and dry at beginning, with smoky aroma of incense. Then labdanum heart, which is dark by patchouli but clarified by sweet and romantic rose. The base is amber and benzoin in combination with sandal: so very warm and comforting. Pepper, however, adds spiciness. I can't help but saffron aroma is present too. It is not a match to my personality, I don't like wearing it, but I appriciate the quality. There are many shades of this fragrance and definitely has appealing, remarkable character. --- Longevity is amazing, almost half a day, sillage is between moderate-strong. Nice for autumn-winter season!

You've got to admit there are a lot of notes at play and they all want a spot on stage, but they do harmonize well, as long as you're aware of how much you're spraying and especially when. Later--christos has the same effect Ana Abiyedh Leather had on me. It's such a distinctive scent that's too strong on paper, but on skin when sprayed just gingerly, you get (in this case) a genuinely great performance of labdanum, cracked pepper and incense. A risqué fragrance on skin in my opinion, but worth trying. Never, ever a blind purchase!! Strong, strong, and strong. 5.5/10

On me, this starts out too dry, and all I get are lots of Amber Xtreme and a touch of incense, so I smell like fireplace logs and ashes--not an unpleasant smell, but just okay. After about 3 or 4 hours, that's when the other notes begin to emerge. The bergamot never makes an appearance on my skin, but everything else does, in roughly equal measure. Here are the richness and balance that I missed in those first few hours! Fortunately, Christos performs like a beast, so putting it on hours before I leave the house won't interfere with its performance.

This is aggressively sharp: pink pepper and incense in full force. Synthetic gothic; a whole new aesthetic. It feels like a monastery with freshly painted walls... or the imagined scent of churches set on fire in horror games. As it develops, it only gets darker and more smoke-laden, but the pink pepper remains; stubbornly refusing to let go. Beautiful, yes... but hard to wear. Very strong smoky and a bit powdery incense-amber-vanilla scent with patchouli and balsamic base. It is not the most unique fragrance, yet it's still lovely. Maybe it's better for night-time events. I have a full bottle and after I tried out most of the Giardini Di Toscana's fragrances, I would say this is one of their bests. Prominent lasting power and sillage.

Testing my sample; opens quite peppery, like toasted pink pepper but I believe it's the amber note. Odd but not unlikable in the least. Becomes rosier it dries down, gets more powdery and smoky and a touch vanillic. Cool weather only, this would wear well in autumn. It's a been a bit over two hours and it's rather persistent, well above arms' length.

This certainly invokes Christ - old churches with creaky, wooden pews, dusty carpets, and the sun beaming through the stained glass windows. I love it. Unique and comforting. Feels very artistic. Rating: 7.5/10

I like the drydown more than the opening, it's too herbal. But the drydown is really delicate and beautiful, I just wished the incense was more present on both moments.

The opening of Christos is an extremely peppery incense one. Something along the lines of a warm, super spicy, ambery incence/labdanum/benzoin, paired with some earthy patchouli, strong rose nuances and a very synthetic aroma chemical, in this case we are having a molecule called Amber Extreme... The scent is nice, nothing mind blowing about it, I think there’s better ambers out there, and I own a few of those, and appears to be very long lasting. Radiant as well, for the first two hours it can be smelled everywhere around me, which is great. It’s certainly not a shy perfume, which I always appreciate. Even though I can detect rose in this for a minute, I think the rose it’s rather fleeting, so it’s a more masculine perfume in my opinion. For those looking for an intense, well projecting, long lasting resinous, ambery incense on the synthetic side, I would suggest trying Christos. Otherwise, stay away, there’s better (and more refined or natural smelling) of this kind on the market! I think the fragrance has lots of potential to be great, but it needs some more work, something is off with it...Not the finest work from Giardini di Toscana!!

You really have to like incense to enjoy this, it’s a note I like so I’m fine with it. At first I sense a heavy dose of incense and rose, after a few minutes a strong sandalwood and pink pepper appears. At drydown this fragrance flatlines to just amber and incense. It’s not as exciting as I expected based on reading the notes before sampling this. It has similarities with GdT’s Bianco Oro, which is truly unique in their line up. Christos isn’t bad, it just doesn’t stand out as full bottle worthy to me. 6/10

Well... this one is perfectly pleasant, and .. yeah, that'll be about as far as it goes. It actually has a very promising, peppery woods in the opening, then a decent soft amber-musky middle, but eventually it.. well, it kinda just quietly wanders off into “generic warm fragrance” territory. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing offensive here at all. It is smooth, wearable, fine... it is just not even slightly memorable. By all means sample if you like a safe spice-amber, but don’t expect sparks!

The biggest difficulty in a balsamic resin incense fragrance is to avoid making smell like old man pee smell. This doesnt do enough to avoid it. The somewhat gourmandy sweetness basically doing the heavy lifting to stop it from going there. Theres better fragrances in this category. Namely Lavs by Sorcinelli.

I love Amber but this is slightly too spicy and pungent for me. It kicks off with a bang and then settles to a smoky incense drenched warm amber. It is a headache-inducer for me. I won’t even make it through my sample - gifting it to another Amber lover.

Very strong, too masculine for my taste. The opening felt overwhelming, so I tried to wash it off. Later, without thinking much, I sprayed some Bianco Latte over the faded Christos just to cover it up. Unexpectedly, they smell so beautiful together. 😊

Smokey, with spices and rose, and a slight hint of freshness from citrus, the smokey element is not overpowering making it still wearable without smelling like a bonfire. It is okay nothing too special or versatile.

Cozy masculine scent. Peppery, smokey, woody, rose and incense. Great quality and beastmode. Not super unique, quite generic. Reminds me of TF frags. Tad better than designer, mediocre for niche.

It's pretty fascinating how Giardini has managed to pack so many interesting but mostly awful-smelling perfumes in their discovery box :) This one gave me an instant headache, and most of the house offerings have the same "quality", it's only a matter of which one will hit you :) They should thank their lucky stars that Bianco Latte has somehow become a sensation, because almost all their other perfumes are clearly hated based on the ratings here. However, I enjoyed trying them out. In some 10 mins, this isn't that bad, but it's still doesn't cross into "pleasant" territory.

To my nose, Christos is a masculine scent. The performance is excellent. Amber, smoke, sandalwood and patchouli are the most prominent notes.. It's a powder bomb. I find the scent is quite linear. It smells generic to me. Hard pass.

Not entirely bad, start is pure pepper up to the point you can sneeze, then sweet and sour resinous smoky incense - bit dirty, nothing calming or churcheous here, I smell strongly furniture preservation polish.

I call this "modern Amber": it sounds like Amber, Musk, Patchouli and Oud at the same time. It can be pulled towards Leather and Smokiness sometimes, very often it includes the notes of Jasmin, Rose/Labdanum, Rum/Cognac and Birch Tree. Most Tiziana Terenzi and V Canto perfumes are based on this "modern Amber", but they use them in moderation. Here we are dealing with a headache inducing beast. All these notes mentioned above with some sweet lipstick (that does not make it feminine) and metallic undertones. I personally hate it! when i first got this i really liked it, smelled so nicely on me. but after a few months i tried it again and dear lord, ive been trying for hours to wash it off of me! it smells likeold man pissing allover a girl whos been out all night at the club. i have no words, i feel so gross today wearing this

I've never come across such a violent perfume in my life.

I admitted to getting fatigued by incense perfumes earlier this year. Actually, nevermind, its 2026 already...damn! Yet here i am, still drawn to them and looking out to test more creations. On my bicycle commute to work, i have plenty of time to ponder and contemplate and thats not always a good thing let me tell you. The other day i was trying to “take a peek inside myself” and find the reasons im drawn to incense perfumes. Im a believer but not a devout Christian so that makes religion only partly responsible for my fascination towards this note. Olfactively, i like dry fragrances and also smokey ones. Resins used for incense can be dry or dusty and the incense note itself is smokey so that is another reason. Still, i feel like there must be something else and i believe i’ve found the answer. Its austerity. I like austerity, i like stoicism and introspection but these notions have a coldness to them. A sort of voluntary lifelessness that helps contour these feelings or atmospheres. Thats the part i don’t like and this brings me to incense. I believe there’s no other fragrance note that better portrays these emotions, paradoxically not in a cold and harsh, but warm and comforting way. There is an element of depth, or better yet, a deep seeking of meaning revolving around incense and indeed it might circle back to religion but in the end im content with that. Incense also harkens back to old times or old places and that taps into the human psyche that is seeking ancient knowledge or forgotten secrets. Basically, its mysticism without heresy and again, austerity are what i associate with Incense and thats why i constantly seek it. However, when it comes to this perfume and how it smells, the paragraphs above might aswell be taken in a vacuum or labeled as unrelated monologue because Christos by Giardini di Toscana is far from the traditional incense or olibanum perfume that fits what i said above. To be honest, i expected that. Reason for that is their most popular creation, Bianco Latte, a well known and appreciated gourmand. I’ve never smelt Bianco Latte, or any perfume from the house for that matter but apples usually don’t fall very far from their trees. Following that train of thought, i can assume what type of “tree” Giardini di Toscana is and what kind of fruits it would bear. Gourmand leaning perfumes are the furthest thing from churchy perfumes so expecting a realistic ecclesiastical scent from the house would have been foolish. Christos is not even as much of an incensy perfume but a balsamic one. Its luke-warm, sourish-sweetish, pleasant and intriguing. I’ve never smelt something like this. Perhaps once again because of the influence Bianco Latte has on my brain, im instinctively trying to build a bridge between gourmand and incense. This evoked the impression of resins ground down into a paste using mortar and pestle and then added on top of a creamy-balsamic pudding made of vanilla, benzoin, sandalwood and patchouli. A weird theoretical concoction in terms of food, but not as a perfume so it works. Performance wise it seems to be a marathon runner. It uses super heavy duty aromachemicals because traces of the perfume got on the sleeve of my shirt while i was testing it and when i put that shirt on again almost a week later, the scent rubbed off on my hand again. It survived the washing machine, i know few perfumes that achieve that and it might be a negative point to be honest. Ultimately, its different and it makes my nose grasp for what it knows in order to try and identify it. One thing i know, its unconventional in a positive way.

I visited a nice fragrance shop in Salerno (Italy) selling Giardini di Toscana fragrances. After sampling various fragrances, I had set my choice on Celeste. Then the guy near me sampled this. I love masculine leaning fragrances. And I was like "oh I might change my mind and take Christos instead". The SA tried to convince me to buy Celeste instead. And as it was pretty hot on that day, I changed my mind and decided that Celeste was more appropriate for that weather. It is a nice woody, ambery fragrance. It is unisex leaning toward masculine. Nothing ground breaking here. But like most Giardini di Toscana fragrances, it is simple, well executed and highly addicted. I am really disappointed that I did not get a sample. But I will definitely purchased this baby this fall / winter.

SOTD Christos by Giardini Di Toscana 2/5 First seconds are very peppery. Giardini Di Toscana just doesn’t do peppery notes well. It is initially very pungent pepper like in Bianco Oro or Rosso Radice. The dry down is quite nice when the vanilla starts coming through. It is a bit more masculine leaning but still gender neutral. It smells more like a night scent than something you could wear to a religious event. Spouse says that it smells like incense, haha. Not a purchase for me. Working through a purchased discovery set of the Giardini Di Toscana perfume house. Wore at home.

Amber, incense and ancestral notes: Christos takes us back in time, to rituals of another era. The opening is pungent, hard, with a very strong and ever-present amber, which is enriched by incense, by the labdanum that accompanies a dark rose, giving truly particular scents. I think it is the most particular and elaborate fragrance of the line, it has a magnificent evolution and it is absolutely worth trying, a truly interesting olfactory experience. “Pope Alexander III meets Doge Ziani” painted by Francesco and Leandro Bassano.

This is the sexiest fragrance my husband owns, it makes me think of all things kinky. But the name? Come on! What does it smell like? It's woody, resinous, smoky and sweet. The incense isn't the black pepper type, it adds airyness to the composition. The brand has a consistent dna, present in all their fragrances, so if you've smelled Bianco Latte and liked it, you may consider this a safe blind buy.

This perfume is wonderful! Being a incens lover, this one is the most churchy thay l have. Top 3 most complimented perfume: l live in a European country where rarely people compliments you and l have constantly people asking me what am l wairing. I like to top it with full incense from Mancera to add fruittness. Lasts forever in clothes, the longevity and sillage are beast.

The patchouli smells sour. Both of those notes crush the rose and amber almost entirely. Shortly after typing this review, I will be trying to wash this off of my skin.

Bought this for my fiance and omg it's so beautiful on him, probably the strongest perfume we've ever smelt BEAST MODE!! Could still smell it on his sweater even after washing it and he always gets compliments on it, very incense heavy smells like a gothic old church, more masculine leaning but women could definitely get away with it too

If your into amber frags this is a nice amber incense on the molecular side. Slight sweetness and a bit powdery, not too much resin, definitely get the amber xtreme synthetic note but it’s blended well. I love ambers and this is nice for what it is.

i just smell saffron, my nose is broke. update: after a couple of hours I still only get some saffron, incense and the tiniest rose. but I'm in love. this is powerful stuff. longaslating, projecting. do not overspray

Incense and ambroxan bomb, it feels like those "ambergris" aromachemicals that are aggressive and salty. Who wears this? very synthetic and annoying scent.

Neither as incensy nor as gothic as I expected. A bit of a let down. This is a sweet milky amber. Not a gothic church incense.

This tries to evoke Amouage Epic Woman. It’s nice but nowhere near as natural smelling as Amouage’s masterpiece

The incense overpowers the whole thing. Smells like an old man, but not the charming sugar daddy kind.
