Rosso Radice

The freshness is there. The incense of an old church is there. The abrettolide dont ruin the frag like br540 or anything else with ambrocenide. Although there is ambroxan, fresh and dry. It last for at least 36 h on skin and 3 w+ on clothes, and the proj is so strong that you cant smell it when ,you spray it on you or wear the perfumed clothes. May be too mid so its safe to smell it before buy it. To my personal opinion(story): When i was young i use to go at the thermal spring here in Segesta, and the people had to shower before entering the pool with hot water (40+C°). The sulphur and the shower gel smell is encapsuled in this ceramic bottle. Its quite unique even for a sclerol frag (the sclerol make the frag smell like Terre d'hermes) So, i suggest you to buy it because its a memory, So many thing to say but you wont eead it. Smells like grandma moldy and humid house. Smells like male armpit sweat Smells like clean bathroom 12/10 on long 2 d+ on skin and 3+ w on cloths 12/10 on proj, when standing still it project up to 4 m with 5 sprays. 12/10 on sillage, the smell stand on the path that you walked for 3 h or so, fenomenal. Not an abergris frag that i own have this perfrmance. Its cheap for its uniqueness Smell 9/10, might feel vintage, to me it feels vintage. Everyday frag, versatile and pleasant, for work, for a walk, for a date, for a job application, for gym, for sex and for a Christmas dinner. Be brave, BB it and dont be a pussy.

My wife and I are trying out the discovery set. I'm trying out the ones that lean masculine/unisex based on the votes on here. This one is the second I've tried. I think it's a good value. You can find 100ml for $140 which ain't bad for a boutique fragrance of this quality, in my opinion. I might pick up a bottle at some point. It's a masculine fragrance, and I tend to like "polarizing" (some love it, some hate it, little in between), and it probably won't be mistaken for something pedestrian, so it's certainly up my alley.

This was my favorite from the discovery set. The dry down on this one is so cozy and unique. My husband absolutely loved it on me. I'm not sure what it is, but there's a vegetal note that dances so nicely with my skin chemistry. Definitely get a sample before buying. Absolutely not blind buy safe, however if it works for you -- you'll LOVE it.

i think this is my favourite scent from the entire discovery set! it starts out very fresh with the bergamot with a slightly sweet woody and kind of musky dry down. it kinda reminds me of what it smells like when i go to my favourite spiritual/crystal shop, probably because of the sage

Another interesting, unconventional, and quite moody perfume from one of my favorite houses in the world. One thing you can definitely say about most GdT perfumes is that they are quite unique. Silvia blends unexpected notes to create multi-faceted scents that develop, morph, transform and literally take you on a complex olfactory journey. With very few exceptions, nothing remains the same as it started. Rosso Radice is not an exception. The initial blast is a powerful and bewildering combo: dark, woody, extremely warm, with just a hint of bergamot to balance it out. To me it instantly evoked a damp garden smelt through an open window in a dark academia library, by the fireplace. Then it just starts to morph. The clary sage starts working its magic, the fougere aspect reveals itself and everything becomes more green and more soap-y. The pepper is there to give it just a bit of sting, the coumarin complements it and makes it more interesting and more unique. The dry-down is baffling: powdery and soap-y, yet very warm, dark and woody, but still somehow fresh and spicy. I just keep sniffing my wrist, able to clearly distinguish every single note without actually understanding how come it can all combine into such a cohesive and perfectly balanced smell. This perfume is a journey of discovery and surprise that starts off rather masculine, then becomes clearly unisex. It is not a safe blind-buy and will not be mass appealing. But for those looking for complex, unique, baffling and signature-worthy scent this will be a gem. I do however have a slight problem in regards to this GdT creation specifically: it probably has the weakest performance out of all of them, with a mere 3 hours on skin and a very faint skin scent after that.

Rosso Radice is another great musky offering from Guardini di Toscana. But unlike Scintilla or Blu Indaco, Rosso Radice is an aromatic musky dominant scent with a very strong pink pepper in the opening. Built around a soft, delicate musk/cashmeran base, the scent has a bit of contrast given by the clary sage, pink pepper and vetiver, so it doesn’t smell just like a musky scent with no dimension. It’s more a masculine perfume, your skin but better type of scent, because of those aromatics, but I could see women who prefer a more fresh, musky, powdery, earthy perfume liking this. I wouldn’t be wearing it often personally to get a bottle, but I can see the appeal of it. To be honest I like it way better than I thought I would when I was looking at the notes and I think it deserves a higher rating than it does have here. I wouldn’t upgrade to a full size bottle because I already found my perfect, girly, feminine musky fragrance from the brand, and that is Blu Indaco.

I didn't think I'd like it based off the notes, but after sampling it I can appeicate it. I personally don't think this is a unisex fragrance and to my nose leans quite masculine. It's not a safe blind buy and I don't think this is a fragrance everyone will appreciate. DO NOT BLIND BUY. It has a fougere quality that's appealing if you're into those types of fragrance profiles. I can imagine a distingushed man over 50 years old wearing this..salt n pepper hair, business suit, neatly trimmed beard, Ray Ban shades. SUAVE! In fact, I could see this being a signature scent for such a man. For the price, I think it's a great value! It's just not a mass appealing fragrance and there's nothing wrong with that. Keep swiping....;-)

Natural smelling dry down is nice citrus and clean smelling musk more masculine and nice on a guy or women the Ambroxan Will mean it’s attractive for women as it has that light addictive feel and somehow it feels like it has a honey note probably the clary sage and amber but it’s nice to see on a man or women. It’s got that same molecular light feel as br540 but doesn’t smell like that don’t get me wrong but just the light ambroxan feel not the notes. It’s very nice.

Noble woodiness, comforting cashmeran, clean aroma of herbs, all highlighted by bergamot... I wasn't expecting such an delightful scent. The notes seemed to be a bit tame, monotonous. Onviously, the quiet charm of this scent become captivating. (The pepper at the opening hinted that you should take this perfume seriously!) Pity that after some time it is mostly vetiver and fades. But for a nice feeling at home, this is a gem.

Very peppery in the opening but dries down to a woody earthy scent. I actually like it more than I expected. It’s very nice for fall, it’s reminiscent of nature in autumn when the leaves fall and it’s after rain. This is what I wanted Autumn Vibes to be like. That one reminds me a bit too much of a dried up leaf but this one just evokes the feel of a cool autumn day. Unfortunately stays pretty close to the skin.

Rosso Radice is a fragrance that I consider really fascinating: its opening is fresh and citrusy, it has a very interesting contrast: a musky, soft softness, made even more interesting by the ambroxan, which melts with earthy and decisive hints. Really beautiful in my opinion to wear, like being in contact with nature in an almost dreamlike, graceful environment. “Me and the village” painted by Chagall.

I loved it! I wish it was more lasting because it lasts not more than cheap perfumes on me but it sits so close to the skin. I love the smell for sure. It smells like rain and wearing it at the windy weather is truly a blessing. I bought a 100 ml right away when i got the tester. Its a good everyday smell for every weather and every season. A little too basic for some events but still quite unique

Opens fresh and peppery, a little sweet, gets muskier and more aromatic as it dries down. Gets earthy and woody, almost coniferous? It's nice. Transitional weather, spring and autumn preferably. Projects a little above arms' length.

This reminds me of a blind date that starts disastrously. I mean, the opening is nuclear and very aggressive. I’m not sure which of the notes are interacting to cause this, but the vetiver in here is definitely part of it. It’s a composty, petroleum edged vetiver. It verges on eye watering. Add in clary sage, sour bergamot, pepper...it’s a pungent combo. Anyway, back to that blind date. They start out hating each other but for some reason our couple stay with it. And after about 1.5 hours, chemistry starts, and things get...hot. Like can’t keep hands off each other hot. The cashmeran, ambrettolide, musc and ambroxan form a velvety sexy ambery powdery stew. It’s good. There’s almost nothing left of the earlier bad vibes, maybe just enough to keep things interesting. Aww that old enemy to lovers trope. It hooked me again. I need to find a way to skip the early enemy part though, it’s poisonous. On skin Rosso Radice lasts about 6-7 hours but spray it on a sweater and you can enjoy the beautiful dry down for almost 24 hours.

I got this as part of a sample set and it is not my kind of scent at all. However...let’s go. It’s masculine-leaning - but wear what you like. Very herbal, woody and aromatic - a world away from my favoured sweet floral vanillas (basic, I know). It’s quite unique - it is a blast of organic matter, a smell you pick up while walking through a dense Scottish forest, something murky and damp. I feel like I’ve smelled it before, but not in a perfume. Despite it being the opposite end of what I would choose, I don’t dislike it. There’s something which compels me to keep smelling - like it’s an attractive scent from nature. Anyway, it’s unusual, it’s miles from Sauvage/Aventus/BR540/AdG...if you wanted an interesting signature, you could do worse than this. Performance though - it’s faded on me within an hour. 36+ hour performance? A fantasy.

Does it smell nice: Yes. Does it last longer than 3-4 hours: Absolutely not. Quite unique fragrance, masculine though, reminds me of the woods, aromatic, musky, I really wish it would last longer than 4 hours, saw some reviews stating it last a whole day, was a blind buy... my bad, thinking on getting Christos..

It smells like rhubarb - the vegetable sweet earthy scent in the base is rhubarb (or at least that’s the only way I am able to see it). Not the most interesting perfume but I guess it’s a nice neutral cool season smell if you do mind sweetness.

Sage and pepper and a undercoat of cashmere, it is okay but Devil's Intrigue is a better version of this cashmere skin.

I get sichuan pepper, so much so, it makes ypur tongue numb

To be honest I’m still not entirely sure how to describe this fragrance. The opening is very intense, almost overwhelming with the aroma of clary sage. My first association was the cheapest herbal soap from the 1980s, the kind that used to sit by my grandfather’s washbasin. Unfortunately, I can’t detect either the pepper or the bergamot, which might have brightened the composition a little. After a while the sage softens slightly, but the scent still reminds me of a freshly dug garden full of wild herbs, damp soil and roots pulled straight from the ground. Overall it feels very botanical, herbal, woody and earthy, at times almost raw, like the smell left on your hands after working in the garden. On my skin it lasts around three hours with minimal projection, and to be honest, in this case that’s probably for the best, because it’s definitely not a fragrance for me.
