Scintilla

Look, I get that this perfume is fairly unpopular, but I really like it! Throughout the year of testing/collecting perfumes, I realised I like some of the synthetic molecules, like ISO E SUPER, and not so much the others, like ambroxan. So, to me personally, Scintilla smells beautiful. A soft, airy, spicy, mildly sweet, mostly fruity, with some floral mixed in the blend effortlessly and a warm, earthy base. Therefore, for those who like ISO E SUPER dominant perfume, with a fruity opening, a floral heart and a ambery dry down, Scintilla is a must try! It’s not a beast perfume like some other from Giardini di Toscana, but it’s one that lingers on the skin for hours with intimate sillage. For spring and summer, Scintilla is amazing. It just needs more hype to get more people intrigued, to want to try Scintilla, my humble opinion...

It’s Iso E Super on steroids, with great projection and longevity. If you’re anosmic to Iso E Super in Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules, here you’ll definitely smell it. It’s smooth, unisex leaning feminine, like a fresh, airy bubble with iris. A combo of Hermès Eau des Merveilles (minus the gin note) + Molecule 01. Gorgeous! It was my favorite from the Giardini di Toscana discovery set bought last year, and this week I finally got a full bottle. It layers beautifully with tons of perfumes, adding an airy/woody vibe and extra dimension. Today I’m wearing it with Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum and it works amazingly well!

I could see this being polarizing but I really like it. I can also see the Ganymede comparisons but this is something a little softer in the opening and not quite as mineralic. I love the iris and Iso e as well as the very subtle sweetness of the violet and jasmine. I had my husband sniff it and he loved it! But he also said it smells like Aqua Di Gio(😩😭). Im the actual frag head, not him, so I gave him grace lol.

A beautiful fragrance, very much in the same line as Molecule 01 or Cheeky Smile. Projects well in an airy, lighthearted way, lasts well. I 'll consider getting a bottle once I've drained my Cheeky Smile

I didn't get this smell for the first time. But I fell in love when I try it again!

540 aventus more creamy.... Like not love.....

It's freezing outside, so you've walked into a 1970s style European art gallery, maybe Die Akademie der Künste in Berlin. The building looks like a concrete car park from outside, but inside you begin to see it's well designed in the modernist way. The floor is in a complicated oak-wood parquet pattern. Just a little light flows in through horizontal letterbox-like windows. It feels like an expensive bunker. A huge screen covering one wall flickers on and off - the view from a moving car travelling past rainy fields. You nearly trip up on the parquet floors which are starting to turn up at the edges, so they've treated the floor with some sort of solvent beeswax, probably some time ago as the scent is faded, quite pleasant. A faint coffee aroma, a scintilla, wafts from a distant corridor. Serious, studious and detached. Probably worn by the introverted architect who designed the building. Synthetic, slightly uncomfortable.

Fruity-woody may I say, ever so slightly more masculine leaning version of Celeste. After it settles the pineapple and pear say hi for a brief moment before being left with the Celeste DNA lingering violet and Iso E. You'd be lucky to get 2 hours out of this, that's not to say I don't like it. I just don't feel like I could reapply this and it still smell good? I don't know how to explain. I'll stick with Celeste.

To my nose, this is a slightly more masculine version of Celeste, but with poorer performance. It's okay, but I would choose Celeste over this.

To me it's a very delicate and feminine perfume, despite being very very woody. It's the type of perfume I would gift a teenage girl.

Very interesting. Opening on my skin - 100% iris, violet and jasmine. I don't detect any fruit whatsoever, in any stage of development. What I detect as "sandy", "grainy" is (I think) moss accord. I perceive it as a "white" fragrance. Like looking something in distance through summer, thick and warm air (or recalling a memory). Sillage is discreet, it' detectable as a skin scent long enough, but a quiet one.

Front and centre ISO E base swirled with 'gasoline' Violet/Iris Fruitiness is vaguely apparent for a short while in the opening (mainly pineapple) and works well. I just feel the oak moss was an unnecessary addition and doesn't quite fit the vibe. I don't mind this fragrance, but as has been said, longevity is at best moderate, and sillage even less so.

Excellent blend of iso supers and pink pepper in the opening. Mixed with sweet, tart pineapple it smells a good deal like a juicy lemon or yuzu at first sniff. The florals are ephemeral but present, mostly jasmine. Bright and pleasing, suitable for spring/ summer. However the drydown is very shortlived. I get barely 2-3 hours wear.

Iris and violet in beautiful manifestation... Pity, that oakmoss overcharges it. Powdery, floral aroma in rich nuances is suppressed by masculine-fresh, monotonous base. It is amazing perfume anyway, but unbalanced, in my opinion. --- Moderate projection, longevity 6-7 hours.

First spray: Clean, sharp, kind of spicy? Like a cleaning product with a hint of green curry. An hour in: smell is gone basically. Very soft scent left of pineapple and white flowers? Not sure but felt more like a toilet spray thats gone after an hour.

Lidl has some pralines filled with fruit brandy. The opening of this perfume reminds me of that fruity brandy. 😅 It leans more masculine in my opinion. The dry-down is pretty: woody, comfy. Unfortunately it fades to a skin scent quite fast.

Its a like not a love, If you don't feel like wearing anything you can wear this happily. Sunny but cool temp sorta day, not much on but running a few errands.

Pinapple, Pear, Black currant, florals, patchouli and amber, a nice semi tropical scent, maybe a top 5 from Giardini di Toscana.

To me, the entire structure of this fragrance feels dominated by Iso E Super. Iso E Super is a synthetic woody molecule known for its smooth, clean, slightly creamy wood character. It isn’t dense like natural woods; it’s more transparent and diffusive. It tends to become more noticeable with body heat, and some people perceive a faint leathery edge or a papery fiber-like texture. In Scintilla, the top notes of pineapple, pear, and apple are present, but their brightness is most noticeable only in the first few minutes. The fruit quickly gets overtaken by Iso E Super, and from that point a soft woody layer sits over the composition, making the fruity aspect rather short-lived. The floral heart—rose and violet—should normally introduce a gentle powdery softness, but here their presence feels quite restrained. The main reason is that Iso E Super remains very prominent from beginning to end. In the base, the note list includes oakmoss and patchouli, but they’re barely perceptible. What remains is essentially a lightly sweet woody scent. Overall, Scintilla feels like a fragrance that starts with fruit, passes through a light floral heart, and finishes with a clean woody base—but the real protagonist throughout is Iso E Super. Personally, my reaction is fairly neutral. It’s an interesting molecular-style perfume, though it does feel somewhat overly synthetic.

In the beginning it reminds me bit of air freshner - ozonic, bit salty sea breeze or what it was called ...AirWick? Then some retro vibe of spicy cologne you could know from 90s-00s and a very short glimpse of Shabby Chic from GdT which is perfume that scares me as you can find in my previous review, thankfully its there "just in mirror"...a hint,...not a full blast. The drydown is interesting though, nice tropical touch where I dont get any apple or pineapple but very nice banana - not a dull overly ripe one but sporty sparkling fresh banana and kiwi - I would love to have perfume built just on this note!

Overly sweet, fruity, and citrusy. This style simply isn’t for me. There’s an intensely prominent pineapple-like note here, and not in a natural way at all. Pear is also clearly sticking out. Many people describe this as woody, but whatever that woody aspect is, it’s beyond my perception. After checking the notes, it made sense; it’s Iso E Super. Unfortunately, it didn’t resonate with me at all. Tag(s): sweet, fruity-citrus, synthetic pineapple, pear

To me this does not resemble Cheeky Smile at all. I find it very, very boring. Maybe in the summer could work better since it is quite fresh. I smell the fruitiness for the first few seconds only, then it becomes a boring, artificial iris fragrance. This is the sixth fragrance I am trying from the discovery set and, so far, I am really underwelmed by this house...

Fruity from the pineapple and apple pear, floral. Airy, lighthearted, very toned-down. Smells cheap and a bit plasticy. A masculine feminine scent that dries down more masculine and very generic. I don't recommend this!

It smells like lipstick and 90s cologne, like you borrowed a hoodie from a guy who wears Eternity for men, then you got lipstick on the sleeve.

What just happened? Started with fruity goodness and after 5 minutes almost gone. Sample is from the original site.

My husband got me a discovery set of Giardini di Toscana and I was over the moon since Celeste is such a lovely perfume. Scintilla was the third I tried after Bora Bora (which is tropical sweet interesting) and this was so weird curious, such a blast (not sure if in the great sense) It opens tropical fruity metalic pungent (pineapple?) and then flowers (I smell violet...) and then hairspray. it ́s all about hairspray so the image of my grandfather (who was a model for a hairdresser in Madrid) appears... and the smell doesn ́t go away. It lasts forever... so at a certain point, somehow overwhelmed but this hairspray memory I layer with a Zara flowery fragance... Scintilla devours the flowers and, like a Phoenix, relaunches its spirit stronger than ever. This is so interesting... Now I ́m thinking of Seymour... the Little Shop of Horrors alien flower... it ́s kind of weird. I cannot say I dislike it. I cannot say I love this either

I got a decant of this, and honestly I really can’t remember why I picked it. I didn’t remember the notes etc. at all before spraying it this morning. And it reminds me so much of Nishane’s Meant to be Seen (and Glossier You, to a degree, and maybe also Molecule 1 + Iris). I’m surprised I don’t see anyone else mention it here. I don’t smell the fruits at all tbh. Mostly creamy woody, pencil shavings with iris and iso e super. I think I got a very subtle pop of fruits with the initial spray but it disappeared after like 2 seconds. Edit: nevermind, the more this sits the more it reminds me of Molecule 01 + Iris. It’s been 12 hours since I put on 3 sprays and I can still clearly smell this on myself. To be noted that I was just working from home today (perfumes tend to last less when I’m out and about), so I would say that the performance has been great.

Scintillia Overall: 5/10 Projection: 5/10 Longevity: 5/10 Sillage: 4/10 Comments: Scintillia is an interesting beast. The opening is definitely a fruity-woody experience and then 65 minutes later the pineapple, apple, and black currant are gone. That's fine they are top notes, but the middle notes of iris, violet, and jasmine also fade at around the same time. What's left? Just the Iso E Super. I'm not a bloodhound, but the Iso E Super just completely robs this fragrance of it's complexities. Then, 2-3 hours later if I want to apply another fragrance, I'll have to deal with the trace Iso E Super that will persist on my skin and clothes for at least 4 hours. Giardini Di Toscana has more interesting perfumes than this.

At a Giardini di Toscana stand was the first one i picked up and was love at first sight! Ofc, i didn’t buy it but i tested it on the skin and it lasted since lunch until the next morning shower but my gold bracelet was still smelling even after shower. I bougt it afterwards, it’s a very uplifting smell, makes me happy but at the same time it’s a very particular fragrance, this should never be a blind buy. To me it doesn’t smell at all like Molecule 01 but it reminds me of Molecule 01 + Iris and also i cannot remember which but some perfume my mom was wearing in the late 90’s. Anyway, i love it and this is one frangrance that i always want to have it available in my collection

Love this one! It is a nice woodsy and delicate fragrance. It does not project much but I would love the woody/fruity/floral combination to me more balanced, as the woodsy notes are overpowering all other notes. So it is very much leaning towards a masculine vibe. "Scintilla" is Italian and, in French, "scintiller" (verb) means " sparkle", that's exactly the word that came to me when smelling this for the first time. Someone said "uplifting", indeed it is. That is an appropriate name for this perfume, if you like woody notes!

SOTD Scintilla by Giardini Di Toscana 2/5 First spray is fruity and the apple really comes through for my nose. Then 10 seconds later the violet note starts to emerge. Smells very similar to La Violette by Goutal. I love the iris/violet/jasmine combo but overall Scintilla is more of a fruity profile. It’s a skin scent around the 2 hour mark and completely gone after about 6 hours. Working through a purchased discovery set of the Giardini Di Toscana perfume house. Not a purchase for me but I enjoyed the sample. Wore at home.

Got a sample. Some days ago I was in an event where we were able to create some fragrances with the help of a master perfumer. One of the creations was based on BR540 We used a big great amount of Oakmoss. This has a similar base, oakmoss heavy. It also has an overdose of iso e super. Finally, it was decorated with some of the fruitiness of Aventus I don’t like it, seems like one of the experiments we did in the event, you know amateur guys playing with aromachemicals over a pre existing BR540 base

I admit that I added this to my Discovery set out of curiosity for the Iso E Super and Pineapple notes. It's a unisex fragrance, to me it smells like powdery old books when it settles. At first spray, I immediately thought of sitting in a flower garden on a new wood bench (made out of fresh white wood, so new that you can smell the wood). It was a nice experience smelling it, I admit I like it more on my husband than on myself, but to me it's not full bottle worthy.

This is a more fruity and woody version of Celeste. I didn't like Celeste it was too aggressive and chemical, nose burning to me. Now, Scintilla is a lot more pleasant and feels slightly less synthetic, the pineapple, black currant and pear are discernible in the first few minutes, the floral notes seem more abstract. The moss, patchouli and Iso E are really strong in the drydown. I think it's perfectly unisex. It's ok, I don't love it but it's a nice scent.

I just got a sample of this and looove it. I would never have thought of looking at this fragrence as it's never spoken about from this brand and thats a real crime, because this is beautiful. It is fresh and clean smelling, and would be a really enjoyable everyday wear for someome who likes fresh fragrences. I also love that I can smell the iso e super in this, because I love iso e super.

“Even a spark sheds light” This fragrance plays easily with me: a fruity opening quickly leaves space to one of my favorite combinations: Iris and violet, made even softer by a barely noticeable jasmine, very pleasant. The result is a creamy, soft and sensual fragrance. So,did this spark fly? Definitely yes . “Blue Iris” painted by Scott Davis.

very similar to Ganymede to me in the opening but more fruity and uplifting also sits a bit closer to the skin. very nice. this is me testing it for first time so don't take my word for gospel.

Like a nice fancy face product or toner of some sort. 2ml sample only - definitely get a hint of pineapple and some woodiness. Very faint. Not that strong

Concur that this is a nice molecular scent in the vein of Cheeky Smile - just with a prominent fruity edge and less dry woods. Leans masculine.

This does not contain Saffron ? Pretty insane and also unbelieveable cause I can smell it right away
