Orchidea Romantica

Even tough the white and pink bottle might suggest something floral, fresh and spring inspired, Orchidea Romantica (sold for coins by an italian company) is actually a decent member of the Hypnotic Poison family and a remarkably close dupe for Heat Wild Orchid by Beyonce. There's this strong, unmistakable woody bitter coconut going on that's either your cup of tea or it's not. This coconut note is dry, not summery at all, and strongly reminds of bitter almonds on steroids. To me, that scent represent the precise reason I did not enjoy Hypnotic Poison nor Heat Wild Orchid, but I was gifted the whole line of this Orchidea during the last winter holidays so, after all my effort to avoid it, I'm defeated. The floral notes keep the fragrance feminine, but the bitter almond / coconut and woody notes are the absolute protagonists here. The drydown is deep, sweet and creamy (in a boozy way), absolutely tamed if compared with Dior HP, but still remarkable for a fragrance this cheap. It's full bottle worthy if you like the genre. Office friendly in winter. This is a good purchase if you need something to put in the bag for touchups, or you just need he cheapiest option to replace HP / Heat wild orchid.

i see people comparing this to hypnotic poison and i kind of agree, it’s just more gentle and less creamy. after first spraying it, i almost hated it. it smelled slightly powdery and a lot like plastic. but after 30 minutes it started getting a lot better. i can still smell it on my skin after a shower. it’s sweet but not cloying or overpowering, soft and powdery in just the right way. i don’t really get the coconut but the white flowers stand out to my nose. for the price it’s amazing and a safe blind buy edit: the longer it stay on my skin, the better it smells. i love it edit 2: can smell the coconut now that it’s a bit macerated, love it even more edit 3: okay, it’s been about a month since i opened the bottle and today i decided to wear this out for the first time... disappointing is an understatement. like i already said, as soon as you spray it, it smells plastic-y and synthetic but later fades into a beautiful fragrance, well... it didn’t happen, i waited and waited and it smelled like plastic the whole day. uff :/

Questo profumo ricorda molto l'Hypnotic Poison di Dior, però in versione molto molto economica. Purtroppo non rimane molto addosso, si percepisce la nota di cocco al primo spruzzo il che lo rende molto più dolce dell'originale e quasi una versione per ragazzine. Somiglia tanto anche al Fiore del Dragone di tesori D'Oriente. Personalmente non credo di ricomprarlo.
