Acqua di Giò Eau de Parfum Intense

if you want aqcua di gio for spring go with elixir. Also it does last 8 hours on skin you can still smell it if you smell yourself after 8 hours, a long lasting skin scent, but i know in summer this gonna be a banger, this is for a confident man who doesnt wanna call attention to himself on purpose, he just does, you make this fragrance it doesnt make you, this does give you a little confident boost tho, since it smell so nice and manly intense only in name and duration tho, not projection that being said i have very dry skin, other aqcua di gios smell like rotten egg on me after a while or even the parfum in the opening for me, this and the elixir dont do that, these are the easiest blind buys for a beginner from aqcua di gio they smell great and elegant, 8-9 sometimes even 10 hours on skin, but projects for 1 hour max, also dry down might turn sour, salty or that cannabis note everybody is talkin about but thats just the clary sage brought over from the edp, but yeah; it smellls a lil bit like that on some people specially if you sweat, but for me after 8-9 hours it turns amberwoody with a lil bit of that fruityness and just smells like a reminiscent shower smell that refuses to leave your skin

I love AdG Absolu and Invictus in general and this smells very similar to those two. The bubblegum sweetness is definitely there and this brings all the memories of those two back. In the opening this is going to smell like Acqua di Gio, but 15-20 minutes in it starts to smell closer to Rabanne Invictus Acqua/OG Invictus. It's definitely crisp, oceanic and just a slight fruitiness from the apple. Overall, I get major bubblegum vibes throughout life of the scent. This is a mass appealing scent, the sweetness, slight fruitiness and playfulness will appeal to a lot of people. Performance is okay, I get great projection the first hour and longevity is about 6-8 hours, probably closer to 8 in summer.

Ok so here is my review, it has been a while since I have been on Fragrantica: I would NOT know this is an ADG line if I just blindly smelled it but that being said I think this is a very good cologne. It is nothing that is going to set the world on fire but I give it a very solid 8.5/10 and plan to purchase it eventually. I think the best comparison I can give it is that Bond No. 9 HTTP fragrance that was their online exclusive back in 2013. It reminds me of that without the smoke note. I wouldn't recommend just blind buying this, I tested it at Macy's so you can probably smell it there. This is a very safe scent but the quality you expect from ADG makes it a worthy purchase in my opinion.

I didn't smell so many fragrances So for me this was great Its opening is heavy on the apple and a decent amount of pergamot with it to give it a fruity-citrusy watery vibe The dry down brings the woods first while keeping the apple with it Then comes the amber which very much reminds of the amber dry down in ysl edp I still prefer this though Performance wise I still can't judge cuz I had worn it outside in high heat so it evaporated faster than it should . But with that I got more than 5 hours So in normal days it might last longer 8.5 out of 10 for me Might get higher if it grows on me

This stuff is awesome! Just got it in and it’s a slightly sweeter version of the OG ADG edt mixed with the slightest hints of Ysl Y wouldn’t say edp maybe a bit but has some ysl Y characteristics in it. I’ve never smelled Armani ADG absolu so idk if this is the “new” version of that. It’s awesome and so far 7-8 hours in still can smell it but doesn’t push so much.

I truly loved this fragrance. I’ve been a fan of the entire Acqua di Giò line, and I couldn’t wait to try this one. It is, without a doubt, one of the finest creations out there. If you have the chance, you absolutely should experience it. It’s just a shame that it hasn’t had a full rollout yet in the United States or Mexico

This smells like a mix of Absolu and the EDP. The EDP was my least favorite in the line and I loved absolu but it was kind of too sweet. This is perfect! Absolutely love this one. It lasts super well on me too! I wish I had a bigger bottle.

I finally figured out what this reminds me of, it is Creed's Asian Green Tea from around 2014. I have an old bottle laying around and I sampled both arms and it feels pretty identical to me.

Defiantly my favorite ADG. Love the opening of this one. Longevity could be a bit better but it was my first time trying it.

For me, this is the best ADG. It feels fresh while also keeping sweet accents, perfect for casual wear and social hangouts.

Take the original, modernize it, and crank it to 11. Not worth buying the original EDT (or EDP) when this exists.

This is probably the best Acqua di Gio so far, in my opinion. My boyfriend fell in love with it instantly!

As a long-time devotee of Acqua di Giò Absolu, my expectations were understandably high when I finally got my hands on Acqua di Giò Eau de Parfum Intense. Absolu has been my signature scent for the past six years, a fragrance that perfectly balanced the iconic aquatic freshness of the line with a deeper, richer warmth that felt both refined and addictive. As I was running out of my last bottle, I genuinely hoped EDP Intense might step in as a worthy successor. On the initial spray, I was genuinely surprised. The opening felt remarkably familiar, I would estimate it to be about 80% similar to Absolu in the first 30 minutes. The recognizable Acqua di Giò DNA is clearly present: fresh, marine, slightly aromatic. However, Intense quickly reveals a stronger fruity facet. The green apple is more pronounced here brighter, juicier, and sharper, giving the opening a livelier, slightly more youthful character. As the fragrance transitions into the heart and drydown, the resemblance begins to fade significantly. Where Absolu develops into a richer, deeper, almost creamy and woody warmth, EDP Intense remains fresher and more fruit-forward. The darker, more sensual undertones that gave Absolu its weight and signature depth are toned down. At this stage, the similarity drops to around 50% in my experience. The two fragrances begin to feel like distant relatives rather than close twins. This is not to say Intense is a poor release, far from it. It feels modern, wearable, and very much aligned with current mainstream preferences. It will likely appeal to a broader audience and perform well in warmer settings. But as a replacement for Absolu, it doesn’t quite capture that same depth and emotional weight. For those who loved Absolu’s richer backbone, Intense may feel like a lighter reinterpretation rather than a true evolution. For now, I’m left with mixed feelings: a hint of disappointment at the absence of that beloved depth, but also curiosity about whether this fresher, fruit-driven character will grow on me with more wear. Some fragrances reveal their charm gradually. Time will tell if this is one of them.

As I mentioned in my Profondo EDT review, everyone should take Fragrantica reviews with a truckload of salt. Acqua di Giò has clearly moved in a modern direction with both sides of the line, the original branch with EDP Intense and Elixir, and the Profondo branch with Profondo EDT. Remember, gentlemen: this era of perfumery is about fruitiness and synthetic freshness. Just like they did with The One line, they’ve modernized ADG as well. This release is essentially a fruity, modern take on the classic Acqua di Giò DNA. While Profondo EDT is the fresh, synthetic evolution of Profondo, this one feels like the fruity reinterpretation of the original. Personally, I could never wear the older ADG. To me it smelled dated, with that sour rotten egg marine note that a lot of older aquatics had. I respect the era it came from, but in my opinion it feels outdated today. This, however, is beautiful. It keeps the Acqua di Giò DNA but removes that sour marine note and replaces it with a fruity freshness. The result is fresh, clean, and sexy, very much suited for the modern man. Along with Profondo EDT, these are the only ADG fragrances I would personally wear today. My only negative is the longevity. I rarely complain about performance since 90% of people online are nose blind and overspray anyway, choking everyone around them. Still, calling this Intense feels a bit misleading. That said, the scent itself is fantastic. Beautiful and sexy. Acqua di Giò is back, for the modern man.

This is essentially a mix of the old Absolu and the EDP. It opens with similar sweet profile to Absolu but with less of that “bubblegum” character that many compared to Invictus. You briefly get the signature bergamot but that almost immediately turns to an aromatic apple that sticks with the scent for most of its lifespan. It then dries down to resemble more of the wood elements of EDP but without the deeper herbal notes that I honestly wasn’t a big fan of. This one hangs close to the skin and isn’t quite the strongest projection wise. Seems to perform in the 4-6 hour range, not the worst but not the “intense” its name indicates. If you like the sweeter aspects of the Acqua di Gio line or want a flanker in the same ball park of Absolu, then this release will satisfy. You may be less of a fan if you side more with the deeper and aquatic notes that you find in Parfum and Profondo. There really isn't anything in this scent though that speaks "intense". It's a solid fragrance but Armani has lost the plot with naming and just the nature of its releases. I think we all would be happier if they just kept Profumo, classic Profondo, and Absolu over this chaotic release cycle and naming of these flankers.

Well it's basically just ADG with some more depth and a sweet apple note. It's good, great even, but I kinda feel like the ADG line is running out of steam. To me this feels like Armani is trying to capture more of the modern fragrance audience, which expects and craves a lot of sweetness, something that ADG typically doesn't have. Is it successful? Kind of, it's definitely sweeter than baseline ADG and it at least is a flanker that adds something of substance to the line beyond just dragging the marine, incense and citrus sliders around. However it feels like ADG is lacking in imagination, it's a solid reliable line but there's just nothing that's very exciting about it anymore. Also the ADG line is very overpriced, at least in my country. Didn't wear it long enough to judge longevity and sillage, but I would be very disappointed if this was sub 7 hours. If I get a killer deal for this, I might pick it up, but as of now, it's not doing something that I need. Good first frag buy I suppose.

Nose Note #1114 Yeah, just from memory this definately reminds me of ADG Absolu. Why did they have to kill this beautiful perfume with the best looking bottle in the line... Yeah, pretty much the same thing, but definately weaker. The same Invictus Aqua-esque feeling. The opening is beautiful. If you compare it to the many interpretations of Invictus or Invictus Aqua like Hawas, none have a beautiful opening that you can dive into from the first second and not wait for the chemical to evaporate otherwise you'll burn your nose... Nice fresh, but not realistic apple. Typical "perfume apple". The aquatic feeling is very much the base of the other Acqua di Gio flankers. So as a flanker it does still have the roots. Performance is a bit dissapointing. It's all good, but something is missing. I wouldn't buy a full bottle after the sample. 7/10

I'm not sure if my nose is broken or what but to me this is, as the name suggests, an 'intense' version of the Eau de Parfum!!! I'm not sure why others, including a popular Youtuber suggest otherwise, so maybe it's just me 😅 As for how this smells, well, it's of course aquatic, salty and 'mineralic'. As with the EDP and unlike some of the older ADG fragrances, there is none of that eggy or fishy like aroma, it's salty but clean with good projection and excellent longevity. I'm quite impressed even if at the same time I wonder how they can keep flogging this, serving up flanker after flanker to confusing levels!

From the first spray, you get that fresh citrus and aquatic vibe that instantly feels clean and uplifting. As it settles on skin, the woody and powdery dry down gives it a smoother, more refined feel. This is the type of fragrance I'd reach for on hot summer days, vacations, gym runs, or even in the office because it just works everywhere. It's fresh, versatile, and easy to wear without trying too hard.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with this but it really has no business being an AdG flanker. Reminds me of Coach for Men & CH Bad Boy Cobalt, although it seems to be blended a little better than these two, i.e. it’s fruity but not overly sweet. Performance is pretty good too. Overall solid fragrance just don’t expect anything unique or groundbreaking.

They finally did something different with a flanker, this is less aquatic and it's more fruity. First thing I noticed was actually the fruit and then the acqua di gio DNA came after that. But it's much less aquatic than the other flankers, well maybe apart from profumo which was smokey and green

An acqua di gio with some sweetness. Similar to the new Light Blue Edp. But this is alot better the sweetness is more refined. In light blue its to sticky sweet. Id say if you need a fresh frag its a valid option but redundant if you already own a adg or light blue edp. 8/10

Sampled this today with zero expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. It opens cool and bright before revealing it's somewhat dark and masculine heart/base. It reminds me of the original Aqua Di Gio and Dylan Blue. It is strong and masculine, best suited for men.

This takes the absolu dna and twists it into a greener version. Instead of the woody backbone absolu had they went for a green/fruity combo. It does smells good i need to test longevity but to me I still got absolu over this.

This is very similar to Acqua di Gio Absolu. It's so similar that owning both would be redundant. However, I like Absolu more as it's not as sweet and cloying as this.

Finally a flanker with a twist on a DNA that makes it familiar but different.

TL/DR: This stuff pretty much sucks. Returned it to store. Closest to ADG Absolu. A hybrid, of sorts. A weak one. Picked it up on sale at Macy's, a decision I already regret despite this being on sale. After a wearing or two, my findings aren't terribly enthusiastic. Performance is dog poop. Honestly. Not kidding at all. Less than an hour and it is practically gone unless you bury your nose where you sprayed. My Absolu runs circles around this from a performance standpoint. This is intense in name only. This does wear heavier than Absolu. They aren't the same, but they play in the same sandbox. If you have Absolu, this will be redundant. If you don't own Absolu, it won't matter. Nothing in common with Gentleman Society Sport whatsoever. That is a completely different fragrance entirely. Not sure what that's about. (at least the Givenchy performs well). @Atlasdot is correct about the 'dank' comment. Deeper into the dry down I get something similar. Wait for discounters, if you must purchase this. And definitely get to a store and test it on-skin yourself before committing, it will be different for everyone. This is just my experience, and I am not an expert. But if I can save you from making the mistake of purchasing this (anywhere, for any price) then this post was worth the time to write.

This one is a bit of a strange one for me. I absolutely love Acqua di Gio—both the original and the EDP. I get so many compliments on both of those. I blind bought this fragrance, expecting something along the same lines, but it turned out to be quite different. It comes across as airy, powdery, and fresh, but I don't really pick up any aquatic notes. In fact, it smells nothing like either the original Acqua di Gio or the EDP. Looking back, I probably would have waited for it to show up at discounters before purchasing. That said, it's still a pleasant fragrance in its own right—just not what I was expecting from the Acqua di Gio line. Overall Rating: 7.5/10.

Armani continues to stray further and further from what made the original Acqua di Gio so great. This smells like a generic men's shampoo. It's just a fuzzy mix of synthetic apple and woods with, surprise surprise, that screechy amberwood base that has dominated the men's designer fragrance scene for the past seven or eight years. It doesn't smell "bad," it's just completely nondescript and unfitting of its name. If you like this scent profile just get Rasasi Hawas Ice instead, it smells better and lasts longer.

I can't even tell how people distinguish between the perfumes in this line. It's all the same boring blue scent—every single perfume house has a scent like this. UPD: The fact that in an hour it dries down to aromatic-smoky note is its only advantage and what sets it apart. UPD2: longevity on it in warm weather is a joke.

I like Absolu a lot. Much more than its cheaper counterparts such as hawas and its flankers. I feel this one is fruitier and more marine than the absolu. However on the drydown, I think the patchouli/clary sage and marine notes give off a light cannabis like aroma which can be off putting to some.

It’s a pleasant scent don’t get me wrong but it lacks character. They need to bring back ADG special blend instead of trying to make a weak versions of it. Special blend was a real hit and long lasting. If you don’t have any ADG then it’s not a bad purchase but to me it’s a pass.

i wanted to love this but the apple absolutely ruins it. had it not been the apple it would've been a 10/10 fragrance. everytime i catch a whiff, it starts very pleasant; i let my guard down and enjoy the scent, but the apple uppercuts right after.

Most dissapointing Release of the acqua die Gio Line. Generic blu and absolutely 0 ADG DNA. Reminds me of Elysium Noir. Not Bad but not good. I cant really relate to Absolu but I Like absolut more

I hate intense , elixir , absolu releases from the same fragrances . This one is more like invictus edt than acqua di gio . I miss designer frsgrances from 2005-2015

Wow this was disappointing. Nothing like Absolu for me. Opens with a very synthetic, air freshener type apple. Not intense at all, thin and watery. This fades and it turns into a thinner watered down adg EDP with none of the minerality unique to the line. Blind buy fail. I’m getting nothing in the way of Absolu but it has been a few years since i smelled that to be fair. Edit - After smelling it for 15 mins it has dawned on me this smells like Lacoste Style in Play (Lacoste Red) I used to wear as a teenager.

I don't get this one at all. After wearing I was thinking that smells familiar and then it came to my mind invictus aqua and ysl y edp together. This should not be an acqua di gio flanker. Very disappointing 😞

For some reason, this smells like cannabis on my skin. That's a personal skin chemistry thing, but worth noting for blind buyers out there.

Finally Macys got this in. I love ADG and was going to buy this on the spot if it weren't for honest reviewers. Anyway, my 2 cents... Completely redundant if you own any other ADG. It is straight up laughable to call this INTENSE. After 30 minutes to an hour, it is a light sweet sage scent. Project and longevity is a fraction of the EDP. Like a few other YTers stated, it would be solid if the opening and sweet apple lasted past the opening - but it doesn't. You can still detect it hours later, it's just very faint. The sage is also very weak compared to the EDP. Basically, this is ADG EDP, toned down, with 10% sweet apple. Very low projection. Sad I really wanted to love this one :( :: hour after writing this, I ordered a bottle of Absolu while Joma still has stock (and on sale!). You want sweet ADG, but Absolu while you can. I'm sure Intense will be $80 in a few months anyway if you really want it..
