Acqua di Giò Elixir

Picked this up today, every time I've been at Macy's or Ulta or wherever that sells frags lately, I've been grabbing this and spraying it on a strip, the first time I remember not really being all that intrigued, but today at Ulta something made me want to grab it, and I did! For me, though most arent rating this one as good for the cooler weather, but for me, this is the most rounded ADG, good for a day outside, a date night, a cold day would even be fine for this one too. It seems to suit the most occasions, more than others in the line. I definitely detect the 100% similarity to Fahrenheit, but this is done up so much more modern and adding the classic smell of ADG as a twist, but the violet leaf and leather combo here, is like going back to the 90's/early 00's and spraying both ADG and Fahrenheit on all at once. And oh man, does it smell fucking amazing. I remember reviewing Fahrenheit, and I still have my bottle right next to me comparing these two, and the differences are enough to be noticeable, but the similarities are also quite distinct. Fahrenheit has more depth to it, making it definitely more of the cooler weather vibe for most than this would ever be, but it's almost as if they used the same violet leaf and leather notes, because it's pretty dead on, but this goes in a more versatile for todays crowd kind of direction with it, a lot of reviews when I reviewed Fahrenheit talked on it feeling really mature, and this is a great addition that has some of that maturity, but also has the youth of ADG. The top of this frag doesn't have much of a top, maybe a touch of orange-y bergamot, but almost instantly when spraying this on you're met with a super green gasoline violet leaf with the classic ADG aquatic smell of the middle notes. It literally smells like you just mowed your grass after it rained, in the most pleasant and attractive way. As it dries more and more, you get more and more of the ADG Parfum DNA shining through with a more leathery version of the same grassy, watery, violet leaf smell, now all mixed together literally making this the most addictive ADG in the lineup. I cannot stop sniffing the tester of it, or my arm for that matter. Lol. Longevity seems to be the best of the whole line (outside of Profumo, which sadly got discontinued before I started collecting nicer shit), this stuff is thick enough to seem to want to hang around for a while, while also still having that freshness, something that is rare with fresh frags (and especially the ADG line as a whole is the longevity) and thankfully here, I think they finally have something I can feel good in the performance of. With one spray on my arm, it went for about 12 hours before it really starts becoming faint. Sillage is also really good actually, it is absolutely not a beast by any stretch, but it's the strongest of the line that I've experienced, seems to give quite the bubble for more than just a couple of hours, and I only have a 1 spray on my arm, and it's got some pretty good power to it. The sillage really started dying at about 10 hours or so in. All in all, it feels really nice writing a really good review for the second time on ADG. I owned a sample of the EDT many years ago and I can remember that being nothing I'd write home about, a couple of years ago, I owned Profondo, and man, it performed so badly, I took the $120 bottle I bought, and literally just gave it away I was so frustrated about it. Earlier this year I picked up the Parfum, and it finally felt right owning a bottle of ADG. Gave that a good review and its treated me well the few wearings I've given it this summer, but I don't wear it much, as it seems to shine best on super hot sticky days, and I rotate 4 or 5 frags around for that purpose, so it just didn't get worn much, but I feel I might even need a second bottle of eloxir, as it'll be in the top 5 of all time until it gets reformulated to shit. Lol. I'm actually really surprised how much I like this, as I'm not huge on fahrenheit by itself, but this is more what I wanted fahrenheit to be when I grabbed it up. Edit after wearing this the past 2 days: this doesn't seem to be a work fragrance. Lol. I work in a slightly hot and sweaty environment at times, and i wore this to work today and it seemed to fade off pretty quick, I also wore this 2 days ago, and it performed AMAZINGLY, it was an off day and I just wore it for the hell of it, and I could still smell it 12 hours in. Anosmia may be a thing here as well, as when I stopped smelling this on me today maybe 3 hours or so into it, I went up to a coworker who also enjoys fragrance and asked if they could smell it, and they definitely could. I even still am getting what seems to be the slightest hints of it here and there right now 10 hours into today's wearing, so I mean, I think more than anything I've gone anosmic to it.

Acqua di Gio Elixir is a citrus, aquatic, and woody fragrance. This version of Acqua di Gio is a fragrance with citrus and aquatic accords, but this time they are enhanced by a note of violet leaves, giving it that sensation some call "ozonic." This scent combines herbal, musky, and almost metallic notes, creating the perception of the scent that emerges after a rain shower. Another important note added to this line is leather, which is perceived from the opening of the fragrance until the drydown, where it combines with woody notes of patchouli and vetiver. This fragrance is ideal for daytime wear and even for some evening occasions during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. It can even be worn in winter, but there are fragrances that are better suited for that season. It can be worn in a variety of situations, from casual outings to office work to formal events—it's practically very versatile. In terms of longevity, it lasted about 10 hours, with an outstanding sillage for the first 2 hours, after which it recedes, but is still noticeable around the wearer. Like almost all versions of Acqua di Gio, it's an attractive fragrance, easy to like, with good performance. The only flaw is that its price is very high for 50 ml, at least in department stores. This could be a good alternative to discontinued fragrances like Aqua Fahrenheit or Zegna Uomo. Today, it's my favorite fragrance of 2025, pending what I try later. So I'll wait to find it at a discounted price.

Acqua di Giò Elixir, for me, is one of the more intriguing additions to the line. If you’re familiar with Profumo, Profondo, or any of the other flankers, you know Armani usually stays close to the original DNA. Elixir, however, takes a subtle but noticeable detour. It strikes a balance between casual and polished—you could wear it in a meeting, at dinner, or on a relaxed weekend, and it would feel completely at home in each setting. Rather than feeling like a “flanker for the sake of it,” Elixir comes across as a thoughtful evolution of the Acqua di Giò story. Performance is solid. It doesn’t overwhelm the way some heavier parfums do, but it has a well-judged presence that suits its style. The opening leans aquatic and familiar, but the violet and subtle leather-like warmth in the base give it an understated depth that separates it from the others. In the Acqua di Giò family, I’d place it comfortably in the top three. Profumo will perhaps remain my favorite for now, but Elixir has impressed me with its nuance and versatility. For anyone seeking a clean, polished, and mature twist on the classic Acqua di Giò, this one is absolutely worth experiencing.

Great scent, definitely my kind of fragrance. Like the second coming of Profumo to me. I just wish they sold 200ml bottles. I don't understand why they are only making 50 and 60ml bottles of things. I know so many people like myself who won't purchase anything under 100ml, and, frankly, I don't understand what would compel someone to even want a small bottle. I am not even complaining about the price; that is a different issue. If they wanted to charge me $250 for a 200ml of this scent, I would happily acquiesce, but for the same amount per ml, it would cost $640 in small bottles. This is a freshie, not some sort of potent, sweet, spicy, beast mode, winter-appropriate, extrait de parfum. It is unreasonable as a brand to release a fresh aquatic in only a 50ml bottle option, especially at the price $160 price point. Now, given the price is only about $115 at FragranceNet, I may still grab a bottle once my Profumo bottle runs dry. If it hasn't been randomly discontinued for no discernible reason, as is Armani's current modus operandi. Apparently, their business model is: destroy reputation with their consumer base; charge more money; decrease bottle size options and fail to provide refills; axe some of their most popular fragrances; randomly repackage and rename their fragrances; and refuse to elaborate. But that is neither here nor there.

Really like this one. Smells great and changes through the dry down into Profumo/parfum style, but has a much better quality than the other ADG’s. I’d say almost similar to Bleu de Chanel quality (ingredients not smell). You can just tell when you’ve been around fragrances enough when something is made better than typical designer. Perhaps that’s why it doesn’t perform so well after 2 hours? Naturals tend to fade more quickly than aroma chemicals. I’m not a performance humper like a lot of fragrance lovers, but this just seems like a lot of money for something that becomes a skin scent after 2 hours. I can’t justify owning this if you already own any other ADG’s especially the parfum or Profumo. Even with better quality the comparable price to the others just doesn’t make sense. Wait until you run out to purchase this one. Giving it a love because it is a great smell, but don’t waste your money if you already have an ADG at home. This AdG flanker should be rated higher. To my nose, it's different from all the others, and the leather note in this is executed perfectly. It's not a fruity or sweet smelling leather found in many other designer fragrances, but instead it smells like untreated leather and serves to add warmth and smooth out this profile, similar to what soft woods like sandalwood do. This is the ultimate summer nighttime fragrance, but it can be worn across seasons and times if that's your jam. I find it much more mature and professional than other flankers like Profondo EDP, so it works for the office too, especially if you're a gent in their 30s or older. Longevity is fantastic, I get close to 8 hours of gradually-fading projection until it becomes a skin scent, and I can still smell it until I wash it off. This projects nicely within the first hour, definitely farther than an arms length. Overall, this is my favorite AdG to date, I just wish it came in a bigger bottle. 9.3/10

I got a bottle on sale at Fragrancebuy, and am quite happy. Let's face it, if you've smelled one aqua di gio, you're intimately familiar with the line. That said, this does add a noticeable twist. The violet in the opening is beautiful, lending a light and airy touch. The leather in the dry down is supple rather than animalic. Those two prominent notes aside, this smells quite a bit like the discontinued profumo flanker. As far as performance, with 4 sprays around the neck I'm catching wafts for several hours, and the scent stays for days on my shirt collar. I would also echo what Evan Massey said below: this is noticeably higher quality than other flankers in the line. For around a hundred bucks, this is a great scent to own, even for an experienced collector. At full retail, I can understand the reticence; keep your eyes peeled for second hand bottles and deals on your favorite discounter.

The original ADG DNA is still there. However, the opening is different; more sweeter and elegant. You can't go wrong with the blind buy if you like the clean & aquatic style scents. I also understand why people mentions about Fahrenheit. Well , Mandarin Orange , Patchouli, Bergamot, Nutmeg etc., it's all common notes. If you really concentrate yourself and sniff your wrist directly, you get that famous "gasoline effect" of Fahrenheit ! The difference between two scents is goes like that; ADG is more subtle, more smooth in my opinion, however, Fahrenheit tickles my nose and its really heavy at the opening ! ADG is more safe choice if you don't want to be the loudest perfume wearer in your office. Ladies like it too, because its a reaaaaal manly scent. I can't get any femininity in this. Definitely recommend it guys !

Very unpopular opinion that will get me crucified on this website, but I hate Acqua di Gio, always have. The fragrances bore me, uninspiring, way too overpriced for what they are, and almost all of them have terrible performance to boot. Literally could not name one reason to buy or choose an ADG fragrance over literally anything else on the market.... Until this was released. THIS is what Acqua di Gio should always have been. Dark, aquatic, complex, and masculine. The only one from the line I respect and would genuinely choose over many other designer options. I am very pleasantly surprised here. I never got to smell Profumo, but part of me imagines it smelled similar to this, as it is hailed as the GOAT.

If you're not a fan of the ADG line, this fragrance may not be for you, as it’s unmistakably part of that family. However, given my long history with the ADG fragrances, I had to give this one a try. It opens with a familiar aquatic vibe, similar to the original, but with subtle hints of orange and nutmeg. Within about 15 minutes, though, it shifts in a different direction. The fragrance becomes more ozonic, with woody vetiver and fresh leather undertones. Is it a revolutionary scent? Not exactly. It’s more of a slight twist on a classic DNA. Still, after wearing it for five days and nights straight, I can confidently say it’s one of the better designer releases of the past couple of years.

This totally changed my mind about leather notes. As a fan of the ADG line, I was skeptical at first, but this fragrance proved me wrong on my skin. The leather-violet combo sets this flanker apart from the rest of the family, while those signature citrus and aquatic notes keep it true to its DNA but this feels like the most mature take on an already mature scent line It's fresh but sophisticated, and somehow it works perfectly. Haven't pulled the trigger yet since I already own Profondo (and they share some similarities), but this is definitely on my list as its replacement. Once that bottle runs dry, Elixir is taking its place. Personal Rating: 8/10

I got this in yesterday. To me it reminds me quite a bit of Dior Fahrenheit from when it first came out. For context, I went through about 4 or 5 bottles of Fahrenheit back in the late 80's and early 90's. The violet in this with a lot of the notes definitely trigger that early memory. I've also got a current bottle of Fahrenheit, and the violet in it now vs then, Acqua di Gio Elixir is closer to my memory of what that once was. I'm giving Acqua di Gio Elixir a full wear today, and I'm liking it quite a lot. I hope that it'll lasts the day, and I'm curious as to how it will work out and about in the high heat of Florida.

Amazing, compliment puller manly scent, I don’t think you will smell like anybody, perfect for office or college, acqua di gio EDT was given to me as a gift when I was 13 by my moms boyfriend in a vacation to Miami, it was half full, I used the hell out of it, I’m now 21, this is nothing like ADG, this won’t remind anyone of it either, just a really really good smell, if you want to smell good, clean and high class in a office or professional setting while still maintaining elegance and not like your trying to hard, this is a must, also really good for summer party or night out

This is the best ADG in my opinion. Yes it's over priced and isn't ground breaking. But it is exactly what I always wanted from ADG. It's a little green, a little deeper, a little classier, but still very ADG. I haven't tried the latest version of Parfums, but the first iteration was not my favorite. Even my wife likes this one, which is rare for her. Great release. I wish it came in bigger bottles and wish it wasn't so expensive, but this one will replace my other ADG and be my only one from now on, regardless of price. I'll just get it on sale or at discounters

ADG x Fahrenheit collab, and it slaps! Opens up as Fahrenheit and dries almost complete the same as adg parfum. The only con is for the money I expected double the duration. I feel like the new parfum version lasts longer and projects also better and there’s already refills available widely. Pay the price just for the mix of 2 great scents? 🤔 I would keep the parfum for daily use then save the elixir for special occasions so I don’t deviate from my signature. My first bottle was finished within a month but It’s great if you can get away with one purchase a year.

I only got to sample this at Macy's but this might be my new favorite Acqua Di Gio outside of Profumo. Im a Fahrenheit FANATIC, And after over a decade of no new Fahrenheit Flankers after Le Parfum, I finally found the Elixer that satisfies my itch for for that Combination of Leather,Citrus, and that glorious ozonic Violet leaf. Im lucky enough to own both Acqua Di Gio Profumo and Fahrenheit Aqua so I can layer them and get a near perfect replica of Aqcua Di Gio Elixer but once im out of both, ill probably pick it up.

This is the best designer fragrance with a prominent aquatic accord on the market at the moment. If you look at all the fragrances in this line, none of them have an aquatic accord, and that makes it stand out. Also, I could not find a designer perfume with a prominent aquatic accord among the best designer houses. Such a legendary and underrated perfume. It is totally a compliment magnet; I am not exaggerating at all. Besides, it is very similar to Essenza. The downside is that it is a bit pricey.

This might be the best one, and no, we can't get profumo anymore, it's gone, it's a relic of the past. Yes that's better, but this is nice, and I got pretty good sillage from it, maybe it doesn't last 12 hours but for a few hours it does project pretty well, and the scent profile is refined, enhanced and smoother, less "blue" , the only drawback is the price and the 75 milliliter bottle, if it was a 100 milliliter bottle or the price was less, everybody would be raving.

I really like this. The drydown smells exactly how I imagine the ideal freshly showered man to smell. Without the aquatic freshness, this would be just another forgettable male cologne to me but that clean quality is so addictive and edges out the competition. The only other colognes that I've smelled that retain that beautiful aquatic quality throughout are the Ralph Lauren ones. I'm absolutely gifting this to my partner sometime...

I mean, I paid full retail for it,.. not because I wanted to,.. but because I wanted it,.. and was able to afford it. But if $ is an obstacle, wait for discounters if ya gotta have it, ! After trying a few bottles I can finally say that this isn't my favorite ADQ. Instead of the Blue Marine loveliness it burst VERY green, gasoline-like smell and turns later into a leathery drydown. The greenness goes away later and the heavy leathery feel stays. Armani should had made this a different fragrance just like Sauvage Elixir should had been a different fragrance instead of a flanker. Will not buy again.

I found it for an amazing price and bought it, man i love it, it is a year-round scent and has a Fahrenheit vibe, however i do wish they stop making flankers and come up with a new line because collecting fragrances has become ridiculous. Ps. Fun fact the cap of ADG elixir clicks on Sauvage elixir's bottle, but not the other way around, also Sauvage Parfum 2017's cap and ADG Elixir caps are interchangeable

My favorite in the ADG line. Expensive, but the juice is incredible. Classy, citrus, aquatic, and masculine all in one, very little bottle. Performance can be better considering I think it is a parfum concentration. I get a good 4-5 hours of decent projection. This reminds me a lot of Bvlgari Aqva pour homme, which I really love, but this is much more refined. I wish it came in 100mL size.

Definitely an inavoidable choise for cool days especially for spring and warm fall days, but I really don't think it should be this expensive. Call me blind nosed but its pretty much the same acqua di gio DNA as we know for years, nothing revolutionary just little changes. If you have a bottle of profumo or profondo in your collection this one is not a must have.

A richer take on the ADG Lineup... Aquatic with a Leather base but not in your face. A close comparison to the Profumo----the best one in my opinion. I'm a huge fan of the flankers and I will say that this is something special. Be patient and wait for the price drop in the future, this would have been an all time favorite if they had a bigger size (100ml). 9/10

@jgel717 You literally keep repeating the same thing over and over again under every ADG fragrance page. You've now posted the same thing twice under Elixir's page. We get it, it smells like sweat on you. Sounds like you have a skin chemistry problem. The whole line smells great to us. If it's not your thing, just move along.

Quite a departure from the original, if I smelled this blind folded, I would say it's a new Dior Fahrenheit flanker. Very high quality and good performance too (not nuclear though). While there is nothing new here (true), the fragrance itself is great and very gentlemanly. Signature scent worthy IMO, must try!!!

Love this one and I love citrus and patchouli 😎 I looked for a Gucci sport replacement and finally found this. I find this to be abit on the sport / evening side... So many of the new fragrances er way to sweet for my taste. This one I not 💪 Some times mixing it with Burberry Hero to make more soft and round.

Just perfect for an elixir, I wish it had a bigger bottle but man I love this. The opening is a deep classic Acqua Di Gio but then really settles in on a spicy dry down, those leather notes with that violet really just wafts nicely, maybe a little hint of Fahrenheit here.. Gorgeous scent 10 out of 10

IMO the best smelling of the ADG line, but then again I am a fan of violet fragrances. The dry down is unmistakably ADG scent profile but with a subtle leather note that to me makes the fragrance. EDIT: Picked up a bottle at a discounter for 79 bucks, and I am happy with my purchase.

Amazing fragrance. I have tons of fragrances and for some reason this one gets me loads of compliments when I wear it. Have had people turn when I walk by them telling me I smell good and asking what I’m wearing so they can get their husband this. It’s long lasting and projects well.

9/10 As I'm writing this I've got acqua di gio EDP on my right wrist with the elixir on my left. The elixir doesn't share the major wood notes of the edp, and the violet leaf gives it a beautiful sweet and sour note. Think I might have to pick this up after the edp is done.

After 2 bottles I can definitely say that the opening is very fresh, green fresh not blue fresh, and the dry down on clothes after a while is definitely very leathery, very leathery. The profondo edp is way more marine and aquatic, more blue fresh, not leathery.

this is so overhated due to its price. Im not a fan of the price either but I cannot deny that this smells divine. Masculine aquatic fragrance with a slight old school fougere vibe to it. If creed released this for 280usd for a 50ml nobody would complain

Literally everything in the world is getting worse, including fragrances. This is very similar to Essenza, which used to be widely available in 125 ml and 180 ml bottles. They repackaged it, renamed it Elixir, and now sell it in 50 ml. What a rip-off.

this stuff is absolutely the best mix of fresh, masculine, mandarin orange, water. the super super dry down (12+hour on clothing smell comes out. this stuff is super versatile too... morning through the night scent. havent tried in colder weather...

@RC2017 ADG Parfum is Profumo's replacement and it has been out for 2 years now. Why would they do another Profumo clone.. again?! Some of you are completely out of touch with what's going on in the fragrance world.

Finally tried this at Boots here in the UK and it smells amazing. Mix between ADG Profumo/Parfum and Fahrenheit Cologne, with a very prominent grassy & violet leaf drydown. Will get a bottle of this soon for sure.

My favorite Aqua. Just good all the time. Great by itself, great if I want to mix something in. Performs well in cold. Airy and salty enough for spring and summer. Great frag. Price is what it is, only downside.

I tried this out yesterday at boots. Stunning. With a voucher code featured on armanis website I managed to snag a bottle for £72. I get Boss Bottled Night vibes but witha good performance. Love me some violet.

Acqua di Gio Elixir is my favorite release of 2025 so far, and it's one of my favorite flankers of the legendary line by Armani. Highly recommend, 10/10. If you love AdG, you will love this powerhouse.

The best of the line imo definitely smells like 35% fahrenheit cologne mixed with acqua di gio profumo and absolu nice projection very good longevity on clothes too expensive

Stuff smells awesome, but the price sucks. It really does smell like a mix of fahrenheit and adg profondo. Its decently strong. Awesome buy for like 80-100. 160 is too much.

@SneezeNose It's literally the most famous men fragrance line in the world. ADG EDT is the best-selling men fragrance of all time. Why would they not continue updating it?

Am I going noseblind? otherwise not sure how this lasts less than the 2024 EDT. Love it all the same though on par with EDT (different use cases), and above 2024 Parfum.

I love it. What a excellent scent for men. Great uplifting and fresh scent. Perfect for warmer weather and safe for office. Most likely a compliment getter.

Don't listen to the other riffraff on here. this $hit is nuclear. it actually attaches to your DNA for 36 hours and fends off ugly looking gold diggers.

My fav release of 2025, wish they made refills for this Expensive for 50mls. Is it worth? - If you love the smell then Yes.

Seems like may be refillable as you can unscrew the sprayer like other refillable bottles but nothing i can find about it.

I'm not going to lie here I am an Acqua di Giò fan boy. This is a banger of a fragrance. Smells great projects well too.
