Acqua di Gioia Intense

Being a lover of Acqua di Gioia, I was so excited for a version that really lasted. If that sounds like you, let me prime you for disappointment: this doesn't smell much like the original. On first spray, there is a brief similarity, but they get quite dissimilar quite rapidly. What it is, mostly, is a fruity rose with some woody, staticky laundry musk. The day after I got it, I wore it all day on its own. I was still nursing the disappointment of not having a strong AdG, so I was happy I bought a travel size instead of a larger bottle. It was pleasant enough, which is sort of damnation by faint praise. I get similarities to Very Good Girl (but fresher, without vanilla) and a hint of Si Passione with the same sort of musk found in the Born in Roma line. Then something strange happened. I wanted to wear it more. That evening, I got home and sprayed it again. My husband said I smelled really good, and he also loves the original, so maybe there's more similarity than I thought. The next day, I wanted to wear it yet again. I haven't yet decided if I'll want a full bottle, but if this continues, I may need one.

I didn't have any of the Gioias so, being my first I don't have much to compare with. I did smell the og and liked the mint but found it overall quite weak. I wish this one had the mint too but I enjoy it a lot regardless. It is what's supposed to be I guess, a super fresh summery fragrance. It smells citrusy, clean, a bit floral, with the tiniest sweetness. Like fresh out of the shower smell. I do smell the rose but it is not overpowering in my opinion. Definitely mass appealing, nothing groundbreaking but also I would never expect to be surprised by one of these super popular designer fragrances. It does last a lot for a fresh citrusy fragrance and I love that so much. I keep getting whiffs of it. I wish bvlgari would release an intense omnia coral, that would be amazing. EDIT: I sprayed on yesterday before two work events I had in the late afternoon and night and it's 08h30 in the morning and it's still going strong specially on my hair.

An aquatic, cool, fresh summery floral. I’m a lover of niche fragrances and tend to steer away from the designer houses, but I’m so glad I tried this as it’s becoming my go to on a hot summer’s day - the epitome of ‘summer in a bottle’ for me. I can imagine myself sitting under a lemon tree on the Amalfi Coast in a white linen shirt with bare legs, sipping a limoncello spritz and reading The Enchanted April. The opening is sweet, fresh, fruity and citrusy but the dry down is where the magic happens for me. Sweet, woody and musky like sun warmed skin but still with that hint of aquatic, lemony freshness. Longevity is good - about 6 hours on me. I love it! Edit: As I wear it more I sometimes find it a little too sweet and fruity so I layer it with Phlur’s Lost Cause or Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique which are less sweet and more citrus forward - and I love the result.

I am always pleasantly surprised when an aquatic or fruity floral has real longevity. It is a fairly linear fragrance on my skin, which I appreciate because I love the scent. It is slightly reminiscent of Very Good Girl, which I love, but more aquatic. The packaging is what drew me to this fragrance, I was not familiar with this line, although I’d seen it around. I think I may have squirted some of the original on years ago, but it evaporated so quickly. I think I need to wait for the “intense” or “elixir” versions of perfumes to come out, the regular scents never last on me. I am impressed by this fragrance and will be exploring more of the line. Any suggestions?

I love this one. She’s definitely different from the OG, so if you’re worried about that don’t be. I have a bottle of Acqua Di Gioia, a bottle of Ocean Di Gioia, a travel of Sun Di Gioia and a bottle of this one, and this is probably my favorite of the whole line. Sweeter than the original, still a freshie but very floral forward. The opening is sweet citrus and it dries down to rose and jasmine just beautifully. Definitely packs more punch than the original. I didn’t know if I would pick up on the rose but I do. If you’re on the fence about this one give her a try. Instantly became one of my favorites.
