Ambre Eccentrico

Today my bottle of Armani Privé Eccentrico finally arrived and I was eager to smell in on my skin. After the first few minutes it is almost narcotic! the heavy notes of amber, tonkabean and prunol molecules (what ever that is) are well balanced and make up a spectacular mixture. Its like nothing I ve ever smelled before and considering my vast collection of perfumes, that sure means something. Although Im a little upset that Ambre Orient is no longer produced, this scent is a worthy replacement with a whole new world of olfactory experience. Calice Becker really is a true master and once again the created fragrance is a seductive and sensual composition with a lot of oriental spices, amber and dried fruits. The dry down reveals tons of Amber and Cinnamon, creating a mystical aura without being too strong or intrusive. On my skin it lasts two days, making this fragrance a very long lasting scent. Be careful with how much you apply. One spritz is more than enough to draw the attention of the people standing around you. In conclusion I recommend this perfume to all amber lovers and people with a weakness for sensual and intense perfumes like ambre sultan by lutens. The bottle is simple but elegant and the composition reveals a astonishing diversity, developing within hours. 10/10 Points with a golden Star!

3 years ago I was on the hunt for a really good amber fragrance, that was something different from Grand Soir, and I accidentally stumbled upon this. It was a great accident because I firmly believe that this was one of the best amber fragrances on the market and it is very unfortunate that it is discontinued now. As the name hints at, it smells like an amber fragrance and most amber fragrances kind of smell similar to one another. Most follow a common formula to what makes an amber fragrance, an amber fragrance, but they throw in their own twist into it. Ambre Eccentrico falls into that category, but the added prunol in this fragrance is supposed to mimic the smell of a ripe plum and I believe that is what made it stand out from the others on the market because I don’t think there is another plum+amber focused fragrance (I could be wrong). The prunol combined with the dried fruits gave it almost a honeyed-fruity sweetness to it that paired extremely well with the earthy patchouli, amber and cinnamon. 10/10 Rest in peace to a great underrated gem. It will be cherished and I have bought a back up bottle. Brings back childhood core memories of eating Bolis Ice Pops

This fragrance to me is quite unique in terms of both smell and structure. I don't know how to explain it since I'm not a perfume expert but when I smell it I can tell that it does not follow the usual pyramid style of notes in fragrances. Now to the smell when you first spray it on it's very linear what get at first will be there in the end it's thick and sappy in feel very deliciously sticky. Main notes on me are plums, dried fruits, cinnamon and tonka bean. The amber in it acts as a base that holds everything within it keeping it all in harmony. As a gourmand frangrace Ambre Eccentrico is in league of its own it does not smell like anything else to me. Adjectives I would use to describe Ambre Eccentrico are sweet, thick, comforting, delicious and smooth. Ambre Eccentrico in my opinion has the best kind of projection when you wear it, it's like you're in a bubble of your own surrounding you from everywhere once someone enters that bubble they will for sure smell you. Longevity is also excellent I get about 10 to 11 hours. Ambre Eccentrico is the best fragrance in the Armani Prive line in my opinion I love that we have a fragrance like it in this world.

#1573 in my "Tour de Fragrance" It's a bummer this scent has been discontinued. Very nice amber scent! Got this as a decant from scentsplit.com for $3.99, but they are now sold out of those 1ml vials, 2ml sprayers and have only 5ml and 9ml left. You can still find this on eBay at $450, but then you're at the same price point as Kilian, "Straight to Heaven", which is similar but lacks the cinnamon that definitely make this Armani a better scent. Similar to that Kilian's that you can can find under $250 is Houbigant "Patchouli Sauvage", but again no cinnamon. Why Armani used a plum synthetic like prunol in this scent is a mystery to me, but I think a plum note adds a lot here, and I can point you to one scent that I think is very similar to this scent but not so pricey, Majouri "Gold Noir." At under $70 it has cinnamon, white woods, heliotrope, amber, plum, leather, tonka, vanilla and patchouli, and I think it's as close to this discontinued Armani as you're gonna get, at least with anything I've tried. Finally, I have my first Armani Prive fragrance and what a day it is. I’m surprised that no one mentions that it smells like maraschino cherries. Someone mentioned it shares similarities with Feve Delicieuse and I couldn’t agree more. It’s plush and it’s an oriental with middle-eastern tendencies. Sometimes I feel that this should’ve been included with the line alongside Myrrhe Imperiale and Oud Royal. Also some compare it to Plum Japonais. The only similarity I find with it was in their drydown where it smells like Play Doh. Some also complain of Ambre Eccentrico of being a letdown on its later phases, I beg to disagree. This fragrance has one of the most pleasant drydowns I’ve encountered and the accords never fell apart. Lastly, some say it’s linear. I also beg to disagree. On its opening, it brandishes a kind-of subtle leather with a gourmand syrup. Then the combination of fruits remind me of cherries. Benzoin and vanilla give it a feel of patisserie. Gorgeous.

Ambre Eccentrico is one of the most easy-going, mass appealing ambers on the market in my opinion. It’s built around a classic Amber accord of vanilla, benzoin and labdanum, but with especial focus on the vanilla which is intensely sweet, creamy and gourmand. Adding to this addictive sweetness is a subtle accord of dried fruits, with touches of spicy cinnamon and earthy patchouli. All in all though, this is a vanilla fragrance at heart and a damn good one. Tonka bean enhances the vanilla even further, while also maintaining that smooth and slightly rubbery characteristic a lot of Armani Privé fragrances have. I’ll admit I underestimated this one when I first got it, but after a few wears I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s not a particularly complex or interesting fragrance, but it’s incredibly addicting and delicious - a perfect option for an easy going sweet scent bubble on a cold autumn evening.

Okay, here goes my first review. I ended up buying this much to my own surprise as I was looking for a rose scent (to replace the slightly dissapointing Diptyque Eau Rose edp I had just bought and then sold to a friend.) I started sniffing through the Armani Privé line and stopped at Ambre Eccentrico. Ambre Eccentrico caught me by surprise with its softness, or butteryness I guess. I smelled the lovely amber but also the tonka beans (of which I’m not usually a fan). It’s sweet but not too much so and has a very luxurious feel to it. This next reference might contradict the previous statement about luxury but the buttery feel and smell reminds somehow of Body Shop’s Shea body butter. The perfume is perfect for winter (it’s snowy now where I come from). Will have to look for the perfect light rose scent in the spring, if I can still afford it after splurging on this.

Mysterious, Unique, Delicious.. I romanticized about getting this for a while and what a marvel it turned out to be. When I tested it - from the first hit, to dry down.. I just had to have it. The ingredients, especially the Tonka Bean, smells raw and pure. It then opens up to a flutter of Vanilla and Amber, which continues to radiate throughout wear. When I hold my wrist up to my nose, it smells rich, but not in a heavy way and it smells creamy and smooth at the same time. Sillage and longevity are very good - hoping to find a guy who can wear this - it would be irresistible :-) I would say this is an Autumn/Winter/Early Spring fragrance - good for the cold and perhaps most enjoyed at night (although I have equally enjoyed wearing it on a sunny, cold day). Whatever works for you.. An expensive purchase indeed but I intend to do it again! Thank you Calice Becker!

This is my forever favorite perfume!!! I have a lot of memories with it, many night outs and fancy dinners. It is very very strong, not for everyone! I do not know how to explain it, its notes, as I never found any perfume that is similar to this! I wish I can find a dupe as it is very expensive. However, it is such a high-quality fragrance, so that validates the price. I feel like I go to another universe when I smell it - that is how I feel about it 😍😍😍 It is just an amazing unique fragrance. The amber is very strong, but very sweet. Some other perfumes that countain “amber” in their name are NOT even close to this! Usually amber smells soapy, but this is so so good, sweet and heavy but in a good way. Very expensive smell, seductive and sensual, warm, a bit manly but very sexy! My fave 🥰

Got a decant. The fragrance is ok. It's Got an almond, cherry, pistachio vibe and I've honestly smelled better scents along a similar profile (woody, fruit, warmth) i.e. Angel's Share, Dates Delight, Delox, Mulah Mulah and Cherry Garden (HOS)...to name a few. Will not be adding this to the collection. Update 1-28-22: Totally eating crow rn!! So, I went back and smelled this in late December '21 and picked up something very well blended, warm, and sophisticated. I get a warm cinnamon note thats kind of dry and slightly Insensee. It's so distinguished, could be unisex, leaning slightly fem to me and I need a FB asap! It's giving grown ass woman vibes--she's very much soft and ladylike, but do not play with her! 😘

I love amber, I tried and own so many ambers BUT there is nothing like this at all, this is something else, there is something here I never found in any fragrance ever and I don’t know what is that, because of that this one is so special to my heart. I first try Amber eccentrico in 2016 and I wasn’t so interested in perfumes because I was a 20 years old guy who only love and own neroli portofino by TF and Dior homme parfum and I was wearing them all year around, once I sniff this I was like stop the world and let me dream. What a dreamy amber a really gorgeous scent and every time I smell it, it takes back to the first day I met this beauty, again and again. Big LOVE.

CHARISMA in a bottle!! People say this is the most beautiful amber scent on the market. I say this is the most beautiful scent. Period. I am a charisma coach (and perfume lover) and this is the first perfume for which i say with certainty: this is how charisma smells. The person wearing it is perceived as warm, has strong presence and power. He/she is confident, competent, attractive, addictive... Ambery enough, spicy enough, sweet enough, gourmand enough, but nothing too much. So well blended, well rounded, simple yet complex. The only thing I don't appreciate that much it's longevity and projection. But, even if it's not the beast mode it's worthy of every cent.

SO beautiful! Just received it and on initial spraying I was disappointed- it opened too masculine and harsh for me, even my boyfriend said it’s masculine, but in couple minutes the real juice came through and it’s addictive! Sweet, comforting and delicious, I can’t stop sniffing my wrist! Can easily be worn day and night. It’s thick, but refined. Amber, tonka, dried fruits and plums are dancing in this beautiful fragrance. There’s a resemblance to Kenzo Jungle Elephant which I also love, but much more subtle making it more wearable in warmer weather. Dress the part if you decide to wear this beauty - it’s elegant and sophisticated, it screams luxury and style.

I jumped into Rinascente Milan today, and I tried few perfumes. I was pretty curious about Ambre eccentrico and I decided to spray it on my skin. I fall in love with it. Usually I do not like when Ambre is too much powdery like Ambre Sultan. This is exactly what it is, same scent of the paper you have on your skin. I can smell dried fruits and amber, it has nothing of complex. It is very elegant in my opinion, and remember me that small box with a small Ambre stone that my mom kept in her cabin wardrobe when I was a child. I remember that, sometimes, I went into it without telling her to smell that sweet small stone. Such a dream.

WOW!! Such a beautiful scent! It smells like a greek dessert called Ryzogalo (rice pudding) when it's hot and you put some cinammon on top! It's such a familiar scent for me.. It's a very different amber, it's a gourmand and it's so unique! It has some nuances of grand soir but it's very different.. Performance is really good. Overall, i just love this scent, i want to smell it all the time but my only objection is that i am not sure if i want to smell like this. If that makes any sence. I have to properly wear it and see how it goes :) If you are a gourmand lover and you want something really unique you have to try this!

I will starve but I wii get a full bottle. So it started normal when the lady that wants me to be a diva and say f*ck it to my debt and buy it but then it just continued evolving. This is the most unique amber scent I’ve tried and instead of staying heavy now it’s so soft and sweet but in no way did it lose the initial bang that it gave. The lady at the store sprayed me from maybe a meter away just once and a few hours later I still get whiffs and the notes are evolving. Masterpiece of a fragrance, ladies, don’t be scared from the initial notes, it’s sweet, feminine and just stunning!

I am a fan of Tonka based fragrances and this is one of the best. Yes, I agree with the previous reviewer that there are similarities with Feve Delicieuse - however, they are different enough to own and enjoy both. This is warm Tonka, vanilla, amber and clove or maybe cinnamon. It’s a luxurious scent that elicits plenty of compliments - excellent sillage and longevity. This is a unisex fragrance, and I love it in the Autumn/Winter or for special evening occasions. It is like a softer and more expensive smelling Kenzo Jungle. I do love gourmand fragrances - and this one is beautiful.

Ambre Eccentrico is stunning! Modern intake on amber with dried fruits and smoky-sweet benzoin. I Was wondering how different from Lutens Arabie it will be - very different, yet both of them belong to those non-edible gourmands, atmospheric and intoxicating, that jump on you at once and captivate your heart. This one has strange dusty-desert feel, that I experiencing in Dune Dior, Tigre Kenzo, L'Air du Desert Marocain of Tauer. Those are fragrances of crouching tigers indeed. Exotic, well-lasting and memorable, I do recommend this one!

I rarely buy a full bottle of an expensive niche perfume, but this one was an exception. This is a very unique warm, VERY well blended gourmand. You get Amber, fruity notes, tonka bean, cinnamon and a noticeable plum. This smells like nothing else. It warps you in a warm,cosy feel. I feel like an Aura of sweet-warm-loving light is surrounding me. As far as performance, this is a beast mode. 1-3 sprays are enough to last 10+ hours with great projection. For special occasions, dates, suit and tie, luxury events.

Armani/Privé Ambre Eccentrico is so gorgeous and balmy and warm and comforting, and deliciously sweet. It's smooth, creamy and rich, deep and has a lovely herby earthy richness which is long lasting and I get so many compliments!! I get stopped in the street! People have told me they've never smelt anything so gorgeous! I love it. The fruit is divine, it's like a rich fruit cake, with lovely earthy seasoning!!! It's one of my absolutely favourite perfumes!!! Really beautiful!!!

Wow, this smells just like Kenzo L'Elefant. It's really hard to tell them apart side by side. I was expecting a more Khaltat Night type of scent ("apple pie amber" as people call it) but this is completely different than that scent profile. This is a spicy-fruity little bomb. I get the dried fruits big time here. I'll keep my decant and save myself a lot of $ because I own L'Elefant. Glad I got to try this though. Since I love L'Elefant, I love this too. So so similar!!

This is my new favorite! absolutely stunning! Fruity, spicy, original and addicting. I haven't smelled anything like it. I think of a decadent and rich cinnamon raisin dessert. I just bought this from the Armani site, but i'm also getting word its discontinued. If thats the case, I most definitely need a back up or two. Edit: IM STILL SO SAD THIS WILL BE DISCONTINUED! I'm buying another bottle as a backup, but dangit this stuff is so so so good.

Kenzo Jungle is an old love of mine, and I can immediately smell the great similarity - it's the love relationship of amber and patchouli. The base is exactly the same, and really easily detected in the dry-down. Yet, Ambre Eccentrico is much more well rounded and sophisticated in comparison to the absolute aggressive beast that is Kenzo Jungle. Beautifully blended. An absolute love, and divine for winter days.

This fragrance is so underrated. The Armani website says its just Vanilla benzoin and patchouli but to me it smells like vanilla icecream with cinnamon. The performance is really good & for me it kinda stays the same from when I first spray it, til it dries down. If you love vanilla & gourmands you would probably really love this. I don't get any of the patchouli. 10/10 for me

A must have in any Amber lovers arsenal. Grand Soir leans slightly feminine where this has a fizziness to it that makes it unisex or a TAD masculine. This sparkling fiz also gives it more utility in warmer months vs GS. It smells of pure quality with no cheap fillers. Can sometimes find it at discounters for less than half retail which makes this a must have!

Just bought this during Armani's Black Friday sale. Absolutely gorgeous. According to the Armani website, there are no top or middle notes. The only ones they list are the base notes of benzoin, vanilla, and patchouli, but I'm also getting cinnamon. It will be difficult to wear my other amber fragrances after smelling this one because they just can't compare.

This scent is uncomplicated, but in a pleasant way. It settles into the skin, and exudes a warm, glowing balmy cloud. Perfect for cool days, and crisp nights. If you like amber, you will enjoy this. If you cannot afford this, a close runner up id Halston Woman Amber...at a fraction of the cost, but a lovely scent. Less "masculine", for certain, but lovely.

A far superior take on Argos Triumph of Bacchus (which im not fan of at all), but this has none of the funkiness or cough-syrup vibe. The scent profile is phenomenal, strictly for grown and masculine. It blended beautifully with my cigar and dark coffee, and with a touch of Middle Eastern amber-oud incense burning in the background... 8/10.

Unusual (excentric?) smell - perfume which require attitude. Ideal for men in suits and femme fatales wearing Giorgio/Emporio Armani and maybe haute couture (Armani Privé) and probably jewels from Cartier. Sure,not for dummies in jeans and sneakers.

Ambre Eccentrico, has this very simple harmonious quality, dry a bit burned out amber, and a soft cinnamon and a semi gourmand tart plum, and we all know that it is leaning towards the hot dry Sable sand, smells like natural skin almost.

Just received my partial. Couldn’t put my finger on what it smelt like in my collection but I knew I’d smelled it before! Then it clicked! Creed Centaurus! I haven’t done a side by side but off my hand it’s VERY similar. Lovely though

This mixture of plum, cinnamon and amber is phenomenal. The Armani Prive line is so underrated imo. Performance is hit or miss but they have some excellent offerings and this is another one. Scent 8.5/10 Performance TBD

I wanted the classic Amber from this line since it was so good and complex but it wasn't available at the time so I bought this one blind from online because of a good discount. All I can say is that it's not what I expected. It's got a thick rich gourmand texture kind of like fudge. Unfortunately the end notes that I enjoy from most amber scents is missing because the development stops at the sweetness and doesn't go further. I like to mix Armani Code luna a dryish slighly metallic neroli scent that needed some luciousness with this to give it some fruitiness and lighten up the dense sweetness. It's good for gourmand craving but not satisfying for Amber classical lovers. I would suggest trying the Maitre Parfumeur And Gantier Ambre Precieux or the other Amber from this line instead.

Its ok. It grows on me. The top notes are where the fruit and sweetness is at. Overall not my favorite, it crowds my nose is the only way to describe it, it's like taking a bunch of smelly dark fruits and mashing them together and letting them sit for a few hours. It mellows out into the amber, but in some ways the amber just elevates that sweetness. On my skin this is more sweet fruits than it is amber. Overall it smells like what I expect from a designer fragrance, which is fine, but price wise doesn't really work for me. I think a gourmand lover will appreciate it, and it would probably shine in colder months when I should try it again. Overall, 7.5/10

My first thought was “where’s the amber in Ambre Eccentrico?” On my skin, I get syrupy sweet plum and something like quince paste or apricot jam. The amber doesn’t come onto the stage until a few hours in on my skin. I find that I prefer plum notes that are transparent and a bit watered down like in Feminite du Bois by Serge Lutens. The amber here is pretty shy - not enough to counter-balance the sweet plum and dried fruit, at least for me. If you’re looking for a very sweet dark fruity fragrance with a hint of an amber base, this may be your jam (pun intended).

A very sweet ambery candied fruit. I actually quite like this despite not being fond of most candy like fragrance. Don’t be mistaken, it’s not a naive younger fragrance. It’s quite sexy and delicious. Also, it last for a while. I love having a decant, but I do not need a full bottle immediately.

incredibly WARM, SWEET, DEEP, INDULGENT. I want this on my future husband in cold winter evenings. This is just comfort, reassurance, a person that knows who they are and what they can do. It is like a smoked, dried, fruit compote that smells luxurious.

On my skin this smells like a smokier and sweeter version of Mfk Grand Soir. It’s good but nothing special in my opinion and not worth the retail price. If you like Grand Soir I think you will like this.

For richer or poorer, this holds the mystery close. Precisely what you would imagine it smelled like if you only read the notes. Ben Whittaker from The Intern wears this.

Smoky almost-caramelized amber perfume. INSANE. Armani Prive quality is like no other. Very unisex and dramatic.
