Armani Code Eau de Parfum

I purchased the original Armani Code many years ago when it first came out. It was such a fantastic fragrance but many abused it just like they have abused many other mass appealing fragrances like Sauvage or Eros EDT. That’s why I made the decision to not repurchase it after I finished that bottle. After reading the great reviews this new take on the original had been getting I had to get a sample to try it myself and Jesus Christ... nostalgia hit me like a train in the best possible way. I don’t even know how they manage to keep the original’s DNA completely intact with such a different note breakdown. This is VERY similar to the original EDT but with a very powdery, sweet and beautiful dry down. The opening has some citrus to it that just vanishes in a matter of seconds, only to leave the cleanliness, soapy smell of the newly added lavender plus the sweetness of the tonka bean. The leather of the original has been replaced by Suede, which makes it softer, sophisticated but still very masculine. I honestly loved this fragrance the moment I put it on. It was the perfect comeback to the Armani Code line in my case and will be using this one a lot during the colder months. As far a projection and sillage, it’s not really a beast. I can report a decent 6-8 hrs of longevity which is a bit of a let down considering this is supposed to be a more concentrated EDP version but the fragrance itself makes up for it. Now that this one is out I must say the original has become somewhat redundant. You could still wear it on warmer days since this is one is sweeter and softer but I wouldn’t come back to the “original”, especially after the most recent reformulations.

This is my favorite fragrance. The scent profile is seriously addicting. Received a sample with my Absolu order and I couldn't stop thinking about it after it ran out. Code EDP is soft, clean, and powdery. Mass appealing in the best way. Phenomenally blended. Opens with laundry fresh, powdery-sweet goodness and citrus with a healthy dose of lavender. The citrus is short lived, revealing the intoxicating blend of creamy, powdery tonka, vanilla, and suede that this one is really about. This is elegant and masculine, great for the office or date night. Daytime, nighttime, signature scent, special events, this one will work during the cooler months. I wish I could say it is perfect; performance for me is underwhelming. It's longevity is okay, I can usually expect 5 or 6 hours. This one sits very close to the skin, though. Applying Vaseline and Iso E Super beforehand helps to project this one off of skin. I definitely recommend spraying more than usual to form a nice scent bubble. It is also very linear for what it's worth to you, but I don't think I can hold that against it. Batch code: 38W102V (01/2022 formulation). This scent profile is just magical. 9/10. Armani Code Eau de Parfum (EDP) is an aromatic, powdery-floral and vanilla fragrance. The opening is slightly citrusy and spicy, at this stage it reminds me of the original Code but it's a little sweeter. Minutes later, a powdery lavender is perceived, very aromatic and pleasant, accompanied by a vanilla and slightly chocolatey, woody and leathery accord. The aroma is very rich, attractive and sexy, giving me a resemblance to Le Male Le Parfum. Code EDP is a sensual fragrance, ideal for dates or romantic outings, or office work, because it is not intrusive either, also to be used in cool or cold weather, in autumn and winter it is an excellent option. It is a fragrance easy to like, for people who enjoy sweet and vanilla fragrances. Its longevity with me was very good, about 10 hours, and with regular sillage for the first hour and then it decreases until it is close to the skin. I loved its aroma, since it has a style very similar to Le Male Le Parfum, which is a fragrance that I also really like. Code EDP is less powerful and better for office use and more versatile than Le Male Le Parfum or the Profumo and Absolu versions, for that reason this version of Armani Code is my favorite and will be the one I will buy.

This is my personal favorite of the Armani Code line, even compared to Absolu and the Parfum. The EDP is bright, clean, and powdery throughout the entirety of its life on my skin, while having just enough of an underlying sweetness from vanilla and tonka to give it more depth. Smooth suede is present in the background, and becomes more apparent in the dry-down, keeping the fragrance decidedly masculine. It's neither as bright nor aldehydic as the Parfum, nor is the vanilla and suede as pronounced as in the Absolu. The notes are well balanced and well represented. The balance between freshness and sweetness make the EDP very versatile, and could be worn for just about any occasion at any time of the year. Even though I love Absolu (and got a 200ml backup bottle as soon as I learned about the discontinuation), I find myself reaching for the EDP way more often. With L'Oreal relaunching the entire Armani Code line, I'm not holding my breath that the EDP will simply be repackaged in a new bottle, but I remain hopeful that it won't be axed outright like Absolu and Profumo were. Still, if you like this particular scent, I'd strongly consider getting a bottle soon, just in case.

In love with this scent as it’s very similar to the OG Black Code(when Armani Code had strength before the reformulations) This is quite linear for the most part but quite an attractive scent all the way through !! It opens up slightly citrusy,semi dark,but also creamy and smooth. Differences between the opening and mid are as it dries down it loses that citrusy edge and the vanilla takes over but even in the dry down the citrus is there giving it a fresh/soapy touch. Words I’d use to describe this scent are alluring,attractive,sexy, while also being soft,warm,elegant and professional. It’s also very versatile because as it can be great for nights out and with the adjustment of sprays can be great for the office and it’s also great all year round maybe with the exception of super hot days. Performance is exactly what you would expect with an EDP as it lasted 10-16 hours but with moderate projection the first hour but afterwards a little more than a skin scent BUT with good silage. This has cracked my top 5 favorite as well as complimented scents !! Overall rating -9 out of 10 !! Amazing smell that will get attention without being too loud
