Emporio Armani City Glam for Him

I'm nuts about orange! Orange in City Glam makes me want to pour the whole bottle on me NOW! Can't believe I passed it so many times being in perfumery, testing other men's fragrances, thinking I remember how this one smells. Sweet, sweet natural orange with just right amounts of mint and ginger, making the fragrance a bit spicy but not too much, and not too fresh. Light dry vetiver and light musk. Modern & simple. My favourite combination :) This is gorgeous! Dear, I want it for myself. And I'm sure I'd follow a man wearing this one on a hot summer night. Sigh... Now, let's have a look at the nose... Annick Manardo & Oliver Cresp. To me it says all.

It initialy smells a lot like some kind of alcohol based aftershave but calms down to a modern stylish scent quickly. It's great for a night out or the office, but unfortunately not very long lasting. It smells nice on my clothing but kind of weird on my skin, no idea why this is.

This was my favourite back in the days. So I have started to search something similar - bitter orange frag. What do you recommend? Is Dunhill Icon worth to try or can you find something better?

I wore this a lot in my early 20's and absolutely loved it, as did those around me. Got through several bottles and would probably have continued to wear it had it not been discontinued.

Such a sexy Dudu cologne! Absolutely wonderful, green, and fresh spicy. I get the mint and orange and ginger, blended so well together. I can't believe it's been discontinued.

I really love this fragrance back in the day, I bought it at an American mall back when i used to study in California. the one thing I don't like about it is the performance.

I had a bottle of this and lost it. I can't find it in stores anywhere. I loved this stuff.

An equilibrated fragance. Nice but i will not lose sleep for it. I really didn't like the opening notes, how it starts, smells like nails polish.

Bitter orange + mint + vetiver = smells like medicine. It's absurd how fragrance creators still fail to realize this. I was afraid this might turn out to be too much like Hugo Iced, a recent purchase of mine which caused a lot of buyer's regret. And that was just what happened: once you've smelled the bitter orange it becomes hard to distinguish any other note, as the bitter orange tends to linger. The dry-down is a little nicer. This however leads to the other big issues with this fragrance: projection and longevity. It has got neither. Barely 2 hours after spraying it on my wrist, I could barely detect anything. This is very unlike any other Armani fragrance I have tried or owned, they generally last for quite a few hours. City Glam certainly wouldn't cut it as a spring time fragrance in my country, as we tend to experience quite high temperatures during that period. Thankfully I didn't purchase it even though it was reasonably priced.

Quality: It smells good, it doesn't make a lasting impression. Originality: This is different, but with some effort you could find something similar. Projection (Sillage): Heavy; People can smell you coming. Longevity: Moderate; 5-6 hours. Versatility: This scent is very versatile; it works well for either day or night, multiple seasons and multiple occasions. Value: Cheap if you can still find it! Compliment Frequency: Never had compliments when wearing this scent. Packaging (Bottling): Much thought seems to have gone into the packaging; it's attractive and highly functional. Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 - Good - The positives outweigh the negatives, but there are still better fragrances out there. This fragrance will appeal to people who like a certain scent enough to tolerate its flaws. A lack of originality and compliment frequency are the main reasons this scent does not warrant a score of 4. Recommendations: Everyone's nose and skin is different so try this before you buy.

Innocently taking notes of how the olfactory scents began, I continued my journey of 'investigating' how City Glam be built. For a few minutes, I did capture a notes of ginger that was changed instantly with orange. The pepper was there, but it was found only after careful searching. Somehow, it was comforting and seductive. Half an hour later, I found it revealing its base notes of musk and vetiver. Now, these notes were unbelievable. I mean, I expect something glam and wild perfect for classy night out. Instead, what I'd gotten is a very ordinary, quite disappointing scent! Funny thing is: on my bf's skin, it melted to his skin. Mixed with his tobacco smell, it turned him into sophisticated creature roaming the earth. So, what I might say is that: it is young, fresh, highly wearable. And, with a perfect chem, it would have been turned sensuous.

City Glam by Armani is a nice woody frag. I managed to get ahold of one at a duty free in the Caribbean, which took me by surprise considering it is 15 yrs old and now discontinued. This is an innocuous and unoffending juice, suitable all yr round. If you think of the word dumb reach, well, this is it. A quite pleasant one, actually, and nowadays worn by no one, adding to the uniqueness value. More or less a good performer, but applying a few spritzes on clothes certainly helps Nothing to write home about, but if you have a craving for a nice but subtle woody juice and happen to find a bottle of City Glam at a good price point it makes a safe blind buy and will certainly satisfy your taste. This is the kind of juice you would have in your rotation when you give up to be a collector and settle for 10 simple and nice frags.

I used to have this perfume back in 2005, I was 20 at the time, and it was one of my favorites. I was really sad when they discontinued it. Since then, I have new favorites, but this has always been in my mind. Over the time, I searched online but they were super expensive. But today I was to buy a 50ml bottle for 100€ on ebay. So much good memories come to my mind with this perfume. Comparing to other perfumes I now own, it is not my favorite. But still in my top 5 though. It is still is a very good fragrance and I would buy it was my first time trying it. I still cannot understand why it was discontinued.

I just tried the perfume parlor clone. A watery citrus sprinkled over mint and woods. Almost has a vacation / beachy vibe without the suntan lotion smell. Smells great and an easy dumb reach for the summer months.
