Emporio Armani Diamonds Black Carat for Him

Just received my bottle of this today and wow...lemme tell ya... Holy friggin shinola...this is sooo CLASSY!!! Now, I havent' smelled the original "Diamonds" frag, but this one...It has scent notes reminiscent of another Armani frag I had back in high school..."Armani - HE" but there's this underlying powdery note in the mix that just turns this fragrance into a DREAMBOAT fragrance on drydown!! The other notes...the cacao, the benzoin and the pepper turn this fragrance darker than "HE" was...but doesn't overpower the smoothness of this fragrance in drydown phase. This is like a refined and luxury version what "Givenchy - Play" wanted to be...almost a "Version 2.0" of it. The level of Pepper in this one, compared to "Givenchy - Play", is much lower so there isn't that constant pervasive cloud of irritating pepper surrounding you for the life of the frag wear. I'm learning that the "Cacao" note in fragrances will never really ever smell like Chocolate...unless it's "Dior - Homme Intense" (Still don't understand how they pulled that off so perfectly) The cacao note in this fragrance gives it a warmth...though not a chocolatey smell. Very hard to describe as it's barely there...but it's there for a little while. ( > . > )/ This fragrance is just...wow...it doesn't seem to project a lot, but the scent bubble it gives is one of the most luxuriously soft but attention-grabbing auras that I've ever experienced. It still projects nicely after drydown for hours! I've been wearing this on my left forearm (2 sprays) for the past 4hours and it's still projecting that soft powdery woody aura all around me. This one is a DEFINITE winner!! I'm wearing this one to work on Tuesday next week...Will definitely have to layer it with a vanilla frag though. I'm sure this will turn heads! More to follow... 03SEP22 UPDATE: Okaaaaay...Didn't make it to Tuesday, lol. I layered this with my favorite vanilla frag in a 1:1 ratio and wore it out Friday and today (Saturday). Compliments from the wife, compliments from friends, compliments at walmart, Loews, the butcher shop and at the gas station. This one STAYS in the rotation and I'm picking up a few backup bottles as well.

black carat definitely reminds me of the diamonds version but only in the opening though sweet bergamot with pepper give it a sweet vibe but suddenly changes into something I cant describe the cacao and benzoin middle notes gives it something I cant describe spicey sweet?? I guess.. but pleasant, drydown a bit of woodiness and still sweet mixed, amber definitely noticeable definitely a lot darker than the original and better composition over all from top to buttom a love for me on this one a very versatile fragrance daytime or night my rate. longevity solid 6-8 hours 8/10 projection/sillage moderate 7/10 I don't understand the voting for heavy but just moderate imo. overall smell a solid 8/10 for even 8.5 solid composition. uniqueness 7/10 nothing very unique it will remind you of the original but indeed better. price vs quality this is were this fail I got mine for 50us bucks 50ml and that very pricey well all with Armani frags 5/10 on this one versatility night or day preferred cold weather but I think a good summer nights frag as well.

For me it is simply a more intense version of the normal Diamonds which I also enjoy but I find it to weak to use during winter or fall. Black carat seems to be more masculine, is more woody after the drydown. On my skin longevity is 6 hours. At first projects pretty well, then after 2 hours it stays closer to skin but people around you can smell it when they are inside your personal space (i guess each one of you has a different personal space radius), so perfect for dates or house parties. Anyway I guess it is classy enough to wear for an important meeting. It won't offend other people as it is not controversial. It is a pleasant smell, better then the original. Very rare, not available in stationary fragshop. I got mine in an online perfume shop for 190 PLN (+-40 EUR) for 50 ml bottle.I like how the bottle looks, but the spritzer is bad, you have to push hard to get a small spritz. Maybe it is just with my bottle, but it's bad anyway.

Black Carat is a perfect dupe of Kokorico by JPG. They are both woody juices with similar spicy edge and rich sweet cocoa note lingering in the background. Very versatile – perfect for an office day if applied sparingly, as well as an evening for two if applied with a more generous hand. Black carat lasts ages and has highly detectable silage. It is truly addictive, I simply cannot stop myself from sniffing my wrist and a blotter. Even though I personally do not mind wearing male fragrances – I would stay clear from Black Carat as to me, the fragrance feels essentially and exclusively masculine, it screams A MAN that is A MAN – powerful, confident, strong, ambitious. I hope my man will love it. I certainly will, on him. Money well spent, that's for sure.

I agree with many of the folks who say this is mass appealing etc - but while I agree with that, I think this is different from many other mass appealing scents. First - this is not a dense fragrance by any means. It’s sweet - and definitely not aquatic - but does have an airy-ness about it. While fragrances like one million lucky - or one million price feel heavy, spicy - this does not - and I really like that quality. I do feel a fruity/chocolate type sweetness - and I think that’s fairly unique for a men’s fragrance as well. I may be in the minority on this one - but as far as I’m concerned, this is at the top of the totem pole when it comes to designer scents. If you’re into sweet, airy scents - look no further. Great sfuff!
