Emporio Armani He

Armani He/Lui embodies Armani's philosophy best, much better than almost any other perfume line currently available - yes, even better than Acqua di Giò in its endless series of flankers. I'm not saying that other fragrances from this house are bad, not at all, or I wouldn't own and use several of them myself. I'm just saying that He/Lui, being the gentlyspicey, fresh, softly aromatic fragrance that it is, perfectly reppresents the understated elegance of Armani's clothing collections. Armani He is also very versatile: appropriate to every occasion and for wearers of any age imho. I've recently bought a bottle of He because my father used to have it when I was younger (it was calle Lui back then) and I always stole some sprays from his bottle. As far as I can remember the formulation hasn't changed much, but some time has passed since then and I have no way to do a side by side test. And I don't need to: Lui smells amazing and performance is more than satisfying for me. If you can't test He and your only option is blind buying (impossible not to like it), remember that this is supposed to be a light and gentle scent, so if you normally wear strong, heavy fragrances, it might be hard for you to detect this perfume in the air while you're wearing it.

Bought this new version at the airport and its an amazing scent. You will smell like an interesting, intellectual and masculine guy that has a good taste, not following the crowd and got his shit together. It’s a sensual scent that will make you stand out and pull attraction. Already got compliments from female colleagues. Something about this scent is super addictive and calming. Really well blended. Dont know why people are complaining about longevity and projection, maybe some online retailers are selling dupe’s. Buy it in store or tax free and you should be fine. I can smell it the next day on my clothes and it stays for about 6-7 hours on my skin. Thanks Armani for still keeping this beauty in your collection.

Emporio Armani Lui (or he) is a woody, spicy and amber fragrance. Its opening is fresh, slightly citrusy, but soon disappears to reveal a woody and spicy face. It has a pleasant aroma of cedar wood, but this note is not declared, the note of nutmeg is also notable. In its drying phase, an elegant woody base of sandalwood is perceived, with a soft floral and semi-sweet base of amber. This fragrance makes me think of wearing it in an elegant and formal way. It is perfect to be used in office work or closed spaces, more oriented to professional events than to informal ones. Its duration reached a 6 hrs. with a regular sillage. Its bottle is quite minimalist and simple, but elegant.

I sprayed it on my wrists four hours ago, on a sunny autumn afternoon. The scent opened with a fresh, bright touch — citrus and sage carried by a gentle breeze. As it settled, a soft woody–musky warmth appeared, calm and comforting, like the golden light of late October. Emporio Armani He doesn’t shout. It speaks quietly, with clarity and confidence, like a memory of simplicity and balance. It feels like wearing calm energy — clean, modern, yet timeless. Perfect for this kind of autumn day when the air is bright, but your thoughts are grounded.

One of my favourite fragrances. Just a beautiful scent, musky, powdery, with a bit of citrus, a super clean smell that can be worn any time. To me, smells similar to PDM Percival without the huge amount of ambroxan. It's such a shame it doesn't last long or project well, otherwise it would be signature scent worthy. It is really inexpensive however which means overspraying wont break the bank and somewhat combats the performance issue.

Absolutely no regret in buying He again after 20 something years and I think I'll keep buying He. He is very versatile and should be fine for year round and all occasions. Just vary on the locations of the sprays and the number of sprays. As another member has mentioned... The dry down is beautiful/classy and I love it. I could still smell it on my clothes after 7 hours in moderate summer heat.

I buy it again just to bring back old memories from early 2000... For me very special scent,so much nostalgic thoughts. In that times i've had He and my wife had She.So we argue then which is better.Haha,great perfume,but i think it's pretty wattered, or i become old.Bottle shape is unique.I was so sad when i realise that this new batch doesn't last.Very weak performance,such a pity.

This smell my Teenage years, when O boticário Homme.com was my favorite fragrance (yes, it copies He/Lui) Fresh, light, flower and soft musk and wood base. Very versatile, lovely fragrance, any occasion you will smell great and very easy to use in sunny days. The problem: He has a bad performance and usually it's too expensive. Around 5-6 hours on my skin and weak sillage.

This smells amazing! It projects really well and leaves a beautiful musky, lemony, powdery, woodsy trail behind me. There is also a pear-like note I can detect in the opening along with a clean clothes scent which lasts through till the mid dry down. I love this fragrance and have bought several back up bottles! For me, it’s definitely signature scent worthy!

Used it 4 years ago. Nice smell that doesn't overload your scent glands. Never failed to start conversations. The most compliments I've taken was with this fragrance. If you can find a legit bottle don't hesitate to buy it. These guys are slowly getting pulled from the market.

I tested a newer version, with a new bottle, last week (march 2025) at Roma airport, and the new version sucks. Terrible, cheap quality and longevity for 1 hour. I have a bottle that I bought in 2022 and It is complete different from the one that I smelled last week.

Emporio Armani He is a very, very unusual scent. Nutmeg heavy at the top. Unique as hell. Not an overpowering beast-mode scent, but quite subtle and sneaky. A scent that sticks around and commands respect. Very unusual, but very well made. A gentleman fragrance.

I own both the old version (that comes in the plastic packaging) and the ‘new’ 2020 release. There is no difference in scent whatsoever! It’s still a great classic, I’m happy that Armani has not messed with a good thing!

This last longer than the old Lui version for me. Sprayed 4 sprays in the morning on the skin, and now 9 hours later i still pick upp whiffs from it every now and then. Absolutely gorgeous drydown.

Sexy, citrusy, powdery, dusty, woody .... Compliment monster, forget Sauvage this is the one you want because women love it !!! For men age 20 and up, not for teens.

This stuff is awesome - but has the performance of an asthmatic one-legged pensioner going for the marathon record.

I bought it during the premiere, oh God, how awesome it smelled. I used it non-stop.

I believe there are 3 errors. the first in the description of the armani beauty site which literally says: A fragrance for men that contains a natural and pungent blend of Japanese Yuzu, sage and cardamom courted by notes of sage, precious wood and warm musk: for an absolutely captivating eau de toilette. so according to this description the sage would be both in the top notes and in the heart notes ... but in my opinion this incorrect description would mean that the top note is yuzu, the heart notes are sage and cardamom and the base notes are woods and musk. which however does not correspond either with the distribution of fragranthic notes or with the drawing by armani beauty (second and third error) which represents yuzu, cardamom, vetiver and musk. there would be no sage and woods but vetiver. where will the truth be? the heart notes of fragrantica would be neither in the description nor in the drawing. as for the base notes, there would be no sandalwood and tonka bean compared to fragrantica. what a mystery this perfume.

opens very sour, certainly for yuzu and sage with a bitter hint (cardamom?). nutmeg makes its triumphal entry, oriental earthy and sweet. the iris root is not so present while the rose is as if it closed the edges of this perfume. excellent and strong presence of sandalwood. here at this point the scent becomes very balsamic. yuzu is still present as well as sage and cardamom. the top notes therefore remain. what a beautiful vetiver, clean and pungent. the white musk that I don't love is fortunately not invasive, it only gives a touch of sweetness. tonka is green and herbaceous and together with vetiver gives this scent a not mushy, but clean and very masculine sensation. in the end it is a safe scent. for a business man. women will love it. from citrus to pungent, to clean and herbaceous. not exactly soapy, but definitely clean. solid performance. if you want a solid, casual but elegant perfume that will appeal to women, without being too noticed and valid day and night and I would say in all seasons. this is for you. 8/10

I remember I received the older bottle as a present and I loved it Used the bottle forgot about it and after years when I started missing the old goose it was already discontinued Only in the past couple of years I found out it was available again and specifically in airports in Europe Bought a 100 ml and when I sprayed it I was happy with it It wasn’t tampered with very badly slightly different but still very good indeed This scent is for you and your loved ones intimate at best and lasts for 5 hours

This is somewhat of a classic to those that remember it. It's nothing so spectacular but it is a nice, masculine, machismo type of fragrance. It's woody, it's spicy, it's something you can picture a man in slacks, with shoes and no socks with suspenders named Antonio walking down the street, with a mustache, in the crisp weather ( Fall Time preferably ) One to try and see if you like it, I don't think you can go wrong with this at all. It was good back then, it's still good today.

Citrusy soapy scent. Somehow I feel le male deep down, though, I strongly remember iris homme by parfum satori. The combination of yuzu, orris, and sandalwood It is very close to the feeling I had when I wore iris homme. The fragrance reminds me of a very clean and safe Y2K. I did not expect this to be a 2020 release.

A lady compliments me for wearing it. But then she wears the female version. I find this smells mostly of nutmeg and warming spices (just like the female version). Both smell quite soapy. I appreciate, or want to like, the faint incense in it as well as the memories from days when I tried it over the years.

Quite an enjoyable fragrance. Easy to wear with a bit of personality without being offensive. Easy to carry around and very inexpensive (around $50). Got a decent amount of compliments. Not great performance unfortunately, only 1-2 hours but for an EDT this cheap just respray.

I got this fragrance purely for nostalgia. If you were a fan of the original formulation, this one isn’t too far off and is enough to bring you back in time. If you’re looking for a good cheapie, this one is also highly recommended.

An everyday after shower scent: fresh, powdery, soapy, a little bit citrusy. Weak performance and intimate projection, at least by its price (its like 40 USD in my country) you can reapply generously.

A very nice office scent, smells very masculine without trying too hard. I like it a lot, it is a very simple barbershoppy fragrance, very nice in my opinion. 8.3/10

Tried this at the airport and quite liked it. Kept getting super pleasant whiffs off the back of my hand. That being said, it didn’t compel me to buy a bottle.

If you liked Lui, you may like it. If you loved Lui, you may be sorely disappointed... Go find a Cosmair bottle. Nico Price from Songbird wears this.

The first perfume I bought on board flight, can’t forget the smell, compliments gainer. Not easy to find nowadays.

Armani He is one of the more unusual fragrances I've owned, simply because it's so far removed from my normal taste. I naturally gravitate towards fresh, citrus-heavy, aquatic fragrances like Acqua di Giò, Issey Miyake, Polo Sport, and Tommy. Armani He sits in a completely different corner of the room, yet somehow still manages to win me over. The standout feature for me is the powdery floral accord. On paper, that doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy at all, but it's beautifully done. It's elegant, understated, and quietly confident without ever trying too hard. This isn't a fragrance that walks into a room demanding attention. It feels more like an evening stroll with someone special, a quiet restaurant, or a conversation that doesn't need to be shouted over loud music. There's a maturity to it that I genuinely appreciate and respect. It's a classy whisper into the ear of a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, that's also where my biggest criticism comes in. For a fragrance with such a refined personality, I expected it to have a little more presence. Not necessarily beast-mode projection, but enough to remind me throughout the day that I was still wearing it. Instead, Armani He seems to disappear almost as quickly as we've become acquainted. I found myself repeatedly asking, "bro, where did you go?". It's as if my wing-man walked into the party with me, and then quietly shuffled off hoping I wouldn't notice. That's a real shame, because the scent itself deserves better. If it projected with the confidence of its distant cousin Acqua di Giò, while keeping its own distinctive powdery, woody character, it would probably still have a place in my collection today. I want so badly to be able to justify another purchase of this - not that it's massively expensive, but it's also not cheap considering its weak performance. I can completely understand why this fragrance has developed something of a cult following; it's unique without being strange, sophisticated without feeling old, and different enough that it still stands out in my memory years later. I just wish it stayed around long enough for me, and others, to enjoy its charm. Instead, it slowly wanders off into an unknown corner of the galaxy, never to be seen again.

Way overpriced for lovely scent that lasts not more than 2 hours. Sillage? Forget such word with this one. I can't deny that the scent itself is quite fine, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut! If you smell Armani Cedre, you surprisingly will find out that it's absolutely the same as this on, just Cedre lasts like 4-5 times longer, has sillage and actually is more pleasant. Armani Code is also in a way similar, just more sweet, but stays longer. I bought it for EUR35/50 ml on summer sales and I think that even that price is too high for fragrance that is weaker and more generic than majority of Zara perfumes. So if you have money, buy something else from Armani and preferably EdP.

Very different from the usual Armani fragrances. I tried 4 pumps on my whole arm since it was discounted to 35€ for 30ml in my local shop. Too synthetic for me. Reminds me a lot of Axe Alaska body spray, which I used as a teenager. Noticeable on my skin for about 4 hours. Completely gone after 6-7. Try before you buy.

This 2020 fragrance release isn't terrible but it's also not great. It's a reformulation of the original 1998 fragrance release which was potent and sexy. A part of me is glad that Armani made the 2020 release available just for the sake of nostalgia, but a bigger part of me wishes Armani discontinue this fragrance entirely since they can't reproduce it faithfully. I look at this fragrance with disgust in my collection. Its a hollow shell of what the original was. I feel robbed. They should discontinue it.

I wore this back in the day. I absolutely loved it then. I bought this for nostalgia not realizing this is a reformulated 2020 version of the 1998 version. It's similar but not the same. There's just enough to spark memories but it's not the power house it once was. It's very tame now. If you didn't wear it back in the day it's pointless to buy. This version Is like Armani's take on CK One.

Not getting much of anything really. Smells like your average ‘90s- early ‘2000s cheap Mens department store fragrance w/ no scent, just a bunch of notes smashed together to create a ‘perfum-y’ scent... I mean, I’ve smelled dollar tree fragrances that smell far better

The 2000 version on release was one of the sexiest frags ive ever smelt in my young man's life!!!!!!!!!!! Even till this day i still fantasize about it. 20 years later i go to buy it, i test it first in the store, smells like dirt water, thought the tester was bad, smelt it at 2 more stores, still garbage. Wow, i can't believe they RUINED a true masterpiece and one of the greatest male frags in history! Im excited that they released a new 2020 version, im going to test it to see if it's somewhere close to what i remember from the original 2000 release. *Edit: I tested it out AGAIN mannnn, omg its SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH! :( This is some fucking shit. Why bother even making the bottle & selling it anymore?? Like watching your favorite family dog die a slow old age death... :/ These executives are so talentless with their decision making it does my head in...smh...

this is one of my favorite of all time. you could make it your every day scent and in every season. It is a bit masculine and with a very calm clean scent. (personally, it gives me good vibes) the only thing I hate is the performance. you would have to over-spray. if you are thinking of buying then you should because this great boy won't be available soon.

Just received my 100ml bottle and it still smells great, takes me back to being 12 and smelling it everywhere. Probably not as sophisticated as some others but for a £35 cheapie I love it. Don’t know about longevity yet but it smells great so I can’t complain whatever happens.

Eu usei em 1998. O de 2020 até então, era perfeito ... Esse de 2025, não dura nada! No máximo 3hs.. Reformulado para pior totalmente. Por isso estou deixando de comprar essas coisas caríssimas por similares no Brasil. Estou na era do custo benefício. Vale o empenho.

Very simillar to OG but it's missing Oakmoss and that nite is replaced with some soapy note so it's less woody and more siapy. Og was better but this one projects and last much longer and much better. I like it but I do miss the Oakmoss

My dads cousin just gifted us this, it instantly reminded me of the smell of shaving cream, pretty smooth smelling but extremely faint (a late 2024 batch), a very nice spray and go fragrance, probably very nostalgic to some.

What kind of nonsense is this? All that has happened is they have re-packaged with a normal box instead of the wrapper style packaging. How does that slip through the editorial control and get labelled as 'New'?...

Pocked tjis up for a steal. Old school classic opening is very sour but dries down nicely. Not a great perdormer but its got some body. Lovely for the money tbh

This one smells amazing but the performance ruins it. Perfect fragrance if you're going out for a small period of time and always spray enough with this one

The new Sauvage Eau Forte smells very similar to this, but the price of that one is ridonkulous and performance is slightly weaker than this.
