Emporio Armani She

This just arrived in the post. It was a blind buy for me and... I love it! It’s taking me back to childhood a bit, I’m sure women around me wore this when I was growing up. I can see how it could come across unisex but I think it could be a touch too powdery for a man but then again maybe not. It’s really really gorgeous. Super clean smelling. Kind of off duty power woman vibes - the simple matte gold bottle suits it perfectly. Light, clean, powdery but not flufffy. The citrus is bright and sparkling. The only downside for me is that it doesn’t project well. I do find that with a lot of the perfumes I like though because they just don’t have those heavy notes. It’s a payoff I’m willing to make. Very happy to have this in my collection, I suspect it’ll be a mainstay.

Recently been reunited with this absolute 90/2000s gem and it is still gorgeous. An almondy powdery vanilla beauty that is a little weaker than it used to be. However, it's so inexpensive and easy to spray around without worrying. Works so well in the summer heat as well. I think this will keep me sane during heatwaves. Super comforting and cosy to me, yet uplifting enough to cut through humidity. It's a shame it doesn't have a better bottle design.

I wore this shortly after I graduated high school in the 90s. I recently bought a bottle for nostalgia’s sake. It smells exactly like I remember it and one spray has been on the back of my hand for two hours despite having made dinner and having washed my hands a few times. This is unique and underrated. Light citrus, musk and cashmere. Could be unisex. Cozy. Smells expensive, too. I love that I have this again.

This perfume was actually launched in 1998, Such a timeless scent, doesn't smell old fashioned at all. Very sexy and edgy. There is nothing out there that smells similar. This is not a gourmand scent, most prominent notes are citrus, cardamom , vanilla and cedar. There is something addictive in it. Perfect for every occasion. Unfortunately it doesn't last long, I wish they come up with the Intense version...

I had the original 1998 version long time ago and I am not disappointed with this one. I think it is pretty much the same, maybe this one is missing the tonka. However, this perfume fills me with joy, it is warm and powdery but in a sexy playful way. I wish the longevity was better but it is worth your money. Very feminine, very nostalgic, very sophisticated.

A light citrus opening followed by a lightly powdery, creamy, vanilla floral development. This is a good every day fragrance for the girl who loves powdery fragrances but does not want to overwhelm others. The more I test it, the more I like it. I layered this with CH Good Girl Blush and it was a banger.

Loving this new 2020 version of She. It smells so classy. It's soft and clean smelling and it smells expensive. Perfect for any occasion and for any time of day. So easy to wear and inoffensive. It almost reminds me of Chanel with it's gentle lasting elegance. Simply beautiful.

I remember the original from the late nineties well and I actually prefer the latest reformulation. The original was too powdery for me (this one is fresher, but still very soft and comforting, like a cosy blanket for all seasons) and suits my skin chemistry better. Love!

Gorgeous fragrance. I absolutely adore it, could use this in the everyday life (whether at work, going out, etc.) It is not too strong and overwhelming, rather it smells soft yet still holds its own. It smells classy, expensive, and very clean.

UK PERFUME LOVERS I have tried NEXT UK Define Eau de Parfum and it's even better than Armani She/Lei - I actually can't believe how insanely gorgeous Define is for £20 - it smells ao niche-musk and ultra expensive SUPER CLEAN

Really love it, clean fragrance but not in a dry sheets way but in a classy way. Projecting during the first 3-4hours. Perfect for the office.

If this is the one in the tin can I really like it. Though it's kind of weird that it's a tin can for a perfume which isn't cheap.

i love this scent soo much at first it is almost sour or bitter but once it settles it is amazing and soft and smooth!

I keep hearing "oh it's missing the pineapple" "it's not the same "what in the cardamom", and honestly, I'm standing here just enjoying a very interesting perfume that comes in a funny bottle. It's difficult to explain what it smells like since it's so specific: it is sweet but at the same time has that kind of musky scent. Then it explodes with what I can only describe as a drink spiced with rosewater (there's no roses in this), and ends almondy on me. The comments stating it smells like the male counterpart? Probably true, my partner has the HE one and we kinda sync if we wear it the same day, but is that bad? No, gosh people are weird. One thing I'm holding against it is the longevity: not the greatest, and for what you pay per bottle, you'd expect it to hold longer on the skin and clothes. Gets me barely through 3 hours tops. I like the bottle since it's much more unique than the typical glass ones, however I hate that it changes often between mls: before it was metal with the silicone/rubber sprayer, now it's fully metal, standard sprayer, standard cap. Armani should also get a grip on naming this perfume. Is it She, Elle, Lei??? No idea, I have the She/Elle/Lei/彼女.... iteration. I believe we can all agree we can say Elle or She, so just stick with that?

So I used to wear the original and just got a bottle of the latest new release version and it’s a shadow of itself. It’s just not as special as it used to be. It’s less powdery and more vanilla. The pineapple is missing, it appears to be more citrus now. The dry down is like a vanilla almond biscuit with citrus undertones. It’s a bit generic. It used to be a powdery iris, deeper, more interesting dry down. Sweet and beautiful. The reformulation is close but it’s not the same and those of us who know the original fragrance are disappointed. It should be a new fragrance and not a new version release. I hate when they reformulate because it’s never for the better. It’s always cheaper material, less fragrant and potent, less meaningful. Always a shadow of its former glory. It’s nice and I will wear it but it’s not special like the original was.

No idea what the original release smells like, but this one is a lovely modern take on a powder-centric scent. Minimalistic and clean, but also cozy and comforting, quite dense even. This scent wraps around you like a cocoon without being too overpowering, and is pretty well-balanced in general - it's like a soft beige cashmere scarf in fragrance form. Not musty or makeup-y at all, you can tell the fruity and floral notes are deep in there giving it that very subtle zing. Not too memorable or unique, though. Lasts a couple hours at the very least. Just a nice everyday choice - however judging by the other reviews, the performance might vary a lot from one skin type to another.

Wow this is unusual and gorgeous. I love cardamom, and pear, so having them both in this is just beautiful. The florals are so well blended that none stand out, and I was concerned it would be too powdery but it isn’t at all. There’s a kind of freshness about this that I wasn’t expecting, I was anticipating more of a traditional powdery floral that would be a bit too overwhelming, but this is somehow light d airy without being an aquatic or freshie, it’s hard to explain. Very traditionally feminine, a powdery fruity floral with a soft spicy warmth. The drydown has a touch of dusty almond (not sticky almond essence) added too, lovely.

This scent was my jam back in the early 2000's. I know I went through at least 2 full bottles, which is unheard of for me. I smelled like this everywhere, the bank, the club, the grocery store, I was relentless. There was nowhere this scent didn't go with me. I'm a little sad to see its discontinued/reformulated. While I don't know that I'd want to start wearing it again, smelling it would take me on quite a trip down memory lane.

i have tried it today at sephora. now 4 hours passed and i can barely smell it. it reminds me of Lacoste classic women but this is sweeter and creamier. also reminds me of new samsara but this is more comforting & intoxicating & bright and happy if i may say. i really liked it but not sure if i purchase it. wish it stays more on my skin. it is great for any occasion and any season btw. quite chic and elegant.

This perfume is so elegant and feminine! It definitely leans towards the powdery side, which I love. It's sweet but not overwhelming, with a hint of almond that makes it unique. Lasts all day on my skin!

I have heard very good things about the original She, that it is a soft, powdery almond scent lifted by its fruity opening. I haven't had the opportunity to try it - the best I could do was to try this reformulation. As it turns out, I am quite underwhelmed. I love an almond scent as the weather gets colder, but this is not it. She is a very subtle, powdery scent, focused on heliotrope but smells quite synthetic. The overall effect is rather wan. It brings to mind a half-hearted, watery noughties-style floral-fruity that is set apart only by the heliotrope. After the initial blast of alcohol subsides, some citrus is briefly evident, giving way quickly to the powdery heliotropin. Generic, indiscernible clean white florals add body, but it remains watery. It becomes progressively powdery with the almond becoming more prominent as it develops, the overall scent improving as a result in its later stages. Subtle vanilla adds soft sweetness. It becomes predictably musky as it fades. Sillage is intimate and longevity is moderate. An everyday, year-round feminine scent, She is inoffensive but dull. I enjoy this scent profile, but She is not it in my opinion. I would love to compare it to the original. Disappointing. 2/5.

This is such a nice and comforting scent! And it does indeed remind me of naomagic, based on my memory it is quite similar, though I remember Naomagic as greener and brighter. She is a little dense when you reach the heart and drydown. The drydown is loaded with heliotrope and musk. To me it feels a bit suffocating. Heliotrope is one of my favorite notes, but I find that it can also ruin a good scent if it's used too generously. This is where I stand on She atm: The opening and heart is fantastic, I feel positive spraying this on. A fluffy, powdery cloud of goodness with a gorgeous hint of cardamom. Then I am let down. I don't get the promised almond, just heliotrope. Maybe this will work better for me in the cold of winter though, we'll see...

Ah now see? Sometimes YOU win, some times you lose. 🤡 🐦 Blind buy gone wrong with this one, something in here reminds me of dried code Fish and I just can't. The bottle is hideous I will give her a chance, so she can show me her potential, maybe it is the weather? Edit: 3 hours later finally the - dried code Fish - smell disappeared and the scent on the skin is so creamy and lovely. I dunno what kind of juju this fragance has, but oh boy what a transformation! I'll wear it tonight and see how it performs Edit: 5 days later It's part of my blind buy regrets I bought it, thinking about the notes of Armani Lei(old formulation)

Amazing opening and gorgeous scent! Very soft, elegant and well blended. Perfect for the office and for executive positions. Very feminine, but not sweet nor cloying. Powdery and airy, defenetly for over 24y old women. The color of the bottle matches the scent, although ivory better descibes it. Too bad the longevity is quite poor around three hours...

Wow, this is a ghost of what it used to be. It was so distinctive when it was first released, I remember wishing so hard I could buy it, then my violin teacher started wearing it and ruined it for me 😆 I can detect a faint outline of familiarity, but it seems to be reformulated beyond recognition.

Gorgeous milky clean opening, but the drydown... not so much. I remember smelling this on women when I was a child. It reminds me of Replica's Coffee Break if it was a fragrance for women (leans too masculine for me), it has that same type of woodiness that Replica has.

Unisex ‘cologne-y’ vibes. Sprayer poorly designed: It kind of streams too much liquid out, instead of being an intentional dispersal of fragrance. That aside, it has moderate throw and decent staying power. I used to wear this to the gym

Finally out of my collection I've tried my best but this fragance is not it It smells completely unisex but leans masculine.. Perhaps is the millennial in me that is obsessed with fruity-floral-vanilla...🤔 🙄

I received this as a gift but I only used it on four occasions and never touched it again. It just is not something I particularly want to smell on me or around me but I do not find it unpleasant.

This is an okay scent. The original was wonderful. The new one suffers in comparison from being made under the name of a greater one.

The smell of code Fish completely disappeared when I spray this one. But now I'm getting men's cologne

This review is aimed at those who loved the original version called 'Lei' and are assessing whether this latest version has reinstated what they loved about it. The following is what I discovered about this fragrance here on Fragrantica which may be helpful. Apparently, there's been three formulations. Emporio Armani 'Lei' for Women was the original version launched in 1998. It came in a brushed champagne gold tube and was presented in a very unique sealed champagne gold packet. In 2008 it was reformulated and relaunched as "For Her' with the words 'lei' and 'she' printed in black on the gold tube, which was more of a metallic gold color. The 'lime' and 'tuberose' had been removed from the opening, two flowers swapped out in the heart and the base was stripped back to three notes, leaving out the 'tonka bean', 'sandalwood', 'almond' and 'amber'. This third iteration 'She' was launched in 2020 and returns in the original brushed champagne gold tube but is presented in a slim box instead of the packet. 'She' appears to be a little closer to the original. The base is a little more filled out than 'For Her' but still missing 'tonka bean' and 'sandalwood'. The heart has a couple of flowers swapped again and the top notes missing are 'pineapple', 'tuberose' and not sure if there's any 'mandarin, bergamot or lime' as the new formulation just states 'citrus notes' which may or may not include some of those. If you loved the original 'Lei' or 'For Her' I'd advise testing the new formulation before blind buying to avoid disappointment :)

It smells very masculine from the bottle and when it's spritzed, and the masculine opening lingers for a long while. Can smell the pear surrounded by citrus and overwhelming greenness. Then it dries down to a warm, sweet intimate, vanilla/almond/musky scent. Too masculine to my liking, but I've smelled it on a couple of other women and it seemed more fresh and feminine on them, so I guess it depends who wears it.

I had it couple years ago it's a very weak and bad performance it's disappointing fragrance, half and hour later it's completely disappeared from your skin and clothes. Typical waste of money 💰

I bought this because I remember I had Naomagic, which is quite similar, and I used to like that scent back in the days. Now I only took one spray, and I have never ever in my whole life had such a bad reaction to a fragrance. It made me extremely nauseous.. I had to take a shower but still that terrible sickening sweet powdery scent is following me.. It actually lasted all day. At least ome good thing, for those who like the scent.

Putting my review from the original (1998) "Lei" here as it's valid on both editions: In my teenage years (late 90's early 00's) EA "Lui" was my favorite fragrance. To this day it has been always in my collection but after getting to know hundreds of others, it is not a signature anymore if you will. But EA "Lei" on the other hand, somehow remains the #1 scent I like on women (and occasionally on me as it stems from the same woody musk-violet DNA). It is simple yet something is very attractive in this. I’m sure my nostalgia makes a biased review but this scent makes a women immediately elegant, classy and casual (in the very best way). Demure? I think that's what it is. Violets (ionones), sandalwood, musk and vanilla at its best, with powdery, soft citruses and fruits. However I am pretty sure just like Lui this one also changed over the years. I remember following the scent trails my friend used to leave behind, and how strong it used to project. Somehow have the feeling it’s a symbolic scent nowadays of what it was once. In any case, I still enjoy smelling it when I come across in a perfume shop, and good thing is it is hyped (as of yet) online as far as I know so remains to be special. This is how I want my woman to smell like all day everyday. And i haven't gifted this to anyone - still keeping it for that special one. It’s that good! Bonus note: If you smell this on a bad-sinus day, you'll only get basic 90's vanilla and bit of powder. You have to use it and smell it on others too, anything less will be quite misleading (as with many other fragrances, duh, but especially with these type of musks that's really important).

I have a bottle from 2019, the tin with rubbery sprayer on top. About a decade ago, I was put off by this fragrance. It was too masculine smelling and just chaotic. I could not decipher any beauty from it. Because it bothered me - that it smelled masculine and aftershave like, it seemed to last ages on me because I kept feeling at odds with the scent when wearing it. Fast forward to now, I have such different associations with this scent and interpret it completely different. It starts off green to me, a bit like that green note in Escada Magnetism, and then morphs into high end hair products scent, something almondy, and powdery but not too powdery. I can almost feel the texture - it doesn't smell of coconut shavings but something in it makes me think of that. Sadly it doesn't project much to me, and doesn't last very long. It stays on clothes longer but with minimal sillage. I wish I could find something similar but with better longevity and projection. Edit: I changed my mind about the lasting power and projection. I can smell it very vividly on my clothes even after 24 hours of spraying, and it is beautiful. I do tend to go nose blind to fragrances I fall in love with and once I took a break from it, it came back with bigger power 😁 Recommend.

I just received my new bottle. It's the tin design with removable cap. I'm so relieved! I agree with Eva1976; I prefer this to my old formulation. It smells like the same nostalgic fragrance, just fresher and the cardamom is more prominent because it isn't being overshadowed by the powdery woody musk like it was previously. The og was beautiful but it could be a lot to take at once. It was almost too complex and dense in composition for its own good. The current one is still spicy, still woodsy, still vanilla musk, but the cardamom and vanilla pop more and the notes are able to shine in a clearer way altogether. It smells of the same great quality as I remember. It hasn't been cheapened at all, and that is such a relief to my nose! I wish every reformulation was handled with such care. I'm so glad I decided to try it again! I will add that when I last owned She/Elle, I was in my mid-twenties. That was not my era for this scent. I was more into the syrupy - sweet variety at that time. Having grown a decade, I feel a certain connection with this fragrance now - like a rekindled friendship. Love! 💛

I never wore She back in the late nineties when it was launched. Nevertheless I was familiar with it, because it was worn by so many at that time. So I was left with a kind of olfactory imprint of it. For some reason I started to crave its non-sweet, soft, fluffy goodness now, in 2024. I read the reviews and accordingly, was ready to be disappointed with the new version. I got it today and after wearing it for about 5 hours all I can say is, it's very much as I remember it. 😳 It really is. I believe it has gone through some changes. But who cares, it still maintains the same air, the same feeling. I appreciate that it's so soft, so completely void of any sharp notes. It does remind me of Nivea cream, but more sophisticated, almondy and powdery.

The similarity to Dream Angels Heavenly (the original from the early 2000s), which is one of my all time favorites, is really striking! I was pleasantly surprised by that. I think mine is a sample of the reformulation because I don't get any pineapple. As it is, it's a little bit too masculine for me, but I think if I layer it with some vanilla, it will come very close to Heavenly. I wish it had a bit less cedar, that's what's giving the masculine/aftershave vibe. I'm very intrigued though, and I will try to make this work! The staying power seems awful. I sprayed some on my arm and not even an hour later, I could barely smell it. Maybe it would do better on clothes.

The old formulation is discontinued. This formulation is also discontinued btw, but you can find both online. I had bought this version, and contrary to some reviews I read stating where this is nothing but a shadow of its former self, I don’t see any difference with it on me from the old formulation. Perhaps people’s body chemistry changed, diet changed, started taking medications, or stress levels became elevated (covid will do that you), all that can affect how things wear from person to person. Anyway, now to see what we can do to stop Armani from discontinuing this fragrance. First Sensi, now this, sheesh!

Smells masculine and spicy to me. Like a little bit locker roomey, but more sophisitcated. Would have expected juniper alongside that cardamom and some ozonic notes too. Not really powdery nor do i get any heliotrope, more of a zesty, citrussy soft spicy masculine scent. Not bad in it's own right, the quality is pretty good but, just from the notes, not at all waht I was expecting. I was expecting a fluffy musky almondy heliotrope, floral and gourmand. It is actually a masculine citrussy juniper / cardamom wth some ozonic notes.

I just bought on a flight the new formula with the new packaging (it looks like a hair spray or a deo, not like pictured on this page) and I came to say you all.... this smells exactly like the very first original formula, it is so clean, woody and creamy as it used to be in 1999. I tried all the reformulations before and none worth it.

A nice classic fragrance, I think brands will start to relaunch this year and that is great news because the new ones just aren't special, the majority smell similar. Some that I think that should be relaunched: original Armani - Gio for women, Lancome- Now or Never, Aquolina- Chocolovers, Tiffany classic, etc

If anyone is looking for it, I have an 85-90% full 1.7 Ml bottle of the original formula. Batch code goes to 2017-12. I don’t wear it. It’s too clean for me. It’s really beautiful but a little on the soapy/powdery side. I love powdery fragrances but with more warmth/spice or sweetness added. Send me a message.

A colleague got it and I tested it on my hand. On me smells like a citrus soap. Doesn't leave a trail, I can only smell it if I sniff my hand. It is an everyday scent...I would have wished it to be stronger, I can barely smell it :(....too bad Armani

This was my signature! It’s very beautiful, unisex, smooth, little bit fresh, perfect in every season, every occassion but the performence is so poor just WHY?!! However I’m gonna buy it again for sure because I feel myself in this one!!!
