Magenta Tanzanite

VIBE/SCENT = Wow!! The way it radiates in the cold of winter, flies with the wind, or stands in a room... absolutely magical and delicious. It is truly beautiful, feminine, sort of elegant even! A well crafted scent with a nice blend of cinnamom and cardamom, on a base of smooth vanilla and elevated by an artsy tobacco — that does not read like straight cigarettes. FOR WHO? = I could see a cool young adult in her 20s or a classy lady in her 50s both rock this effortlessly. PERFORMANCE = Longevity is great on warm clothes (still very detectable on a scarf after 3 days)! On my skin, I got maybe 3-4 hours with very light application. Nice sillage (i walk in a room that I leff the scarf in and it smells like it or I pass by the closet and catch whiffs) ! COMPARISON = 1) It does smell like changing constance by Penhaligon’s but less camarel-y and more put together. Both are beautiful, but I think Armani’s has a better performance. Constance was very fleeting. 2) I get the Starlight by Xerjoff comparison but the xerjoff is clearly stronger and is a bit more « milky » and « cloud-like » and intoxicating; gave me headaches unfortunately. Stunning scent but overwhelming. Also, it comes off more yummy, young and less sober-but-fun-elegance than Magenta. 3) Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is very different to me, obviously heavier on the tobacco. I did not enjoy that one.

It feels bold yet wearable, sensual but polished. Magenta Tanzanite is a statement fragrance best suited for evenings, colder weather, or moments when you want something expressive and powerful. If you enjoy spicy openings, resinous hearts, and warm tobacco-vanilla bases, this is a scent that leaves a lasting impression.

This perfume has an overdose of exceptionally-done cardamom with a hint of sweetness. It smells authentic and almost realistic smelling. While the other spices are present too, cardamom takes the centre stage, making this scent unsuitable for those who dislike cardamom. As someone mentioned below, the tobacco note adds a rich, caramelized depth without the usual overpowering earthy undertones. The opening is dominated by a vibrant spice duo: cardamom and ginger. On my skin it turns gooey and yummy yet not sweetening up too much. It’s the right amount of sweetness. So addictive! Compared to Changing Constance or Minut et Demi, this perfume maintains a more subdued sweetness. Its character is slightly less feminine in my opinion, yet a woman who’s into this scent profile can pull it off. Personally, I adore this scent and enjoy layering it with Bewitching Yasmin. A cold-weather exclusive, its warmth and depth make it perfect for cold winter days.

At the opening, the fragrance immediately brings Starlight by Xerjoff to mind, the combination of cardamom and bergamot feels very similar. The cardamom here is soft, beautifully illuminated by a citrus note. As the composition develops, it becomes deeper and warmer. Lightly roasted coffee beans appear, with a pleasant, delicate bitterness. The cinnamon is gentle and well-controlled, it doesn’t dominate but softly tickles the nose, adding a sense of coziness and dimension to the scent. I also clearly detect tobacco- dry and refined. What I really appreciate is how well the sweetness is balanced: there’s just enough of it to make the fragrance feel rounder and smoother. To me, this fragrance is a true unisex , elegant and confident. It feels suitable for any season, the only thing that matters is being in the right mood for it 👌🏻

Im in love. The opening is similar to Ani (bergamot and ginger) which I love. I can definitely smell the cardamon but I can still smell it in the dry down. The coffee and tobacco are beautiful together (the tobacco nuance is similar to side effect). The blend of them gives an almost gourmand feel - like chocolate. The more this dries down on my skin the more I'm enjoying it. I agree with one of the reviewers down below saying the most prominent notes are vanilla, ginger and cardamom. The performance is great, 6 hours on the skin but longer on the clothes. I can't wait to see how the juice macerates over the months. This will definitely be a staple next autumn - winter. I will definitely be buying a back up bottle. Armani loves to discontinue my favourite perfumes and in this case, make them limited edition 😞

Semi gourmand, spiced dark roast coffee with the lightest splash of cream, no sugar. Magenta Tanzanite is beautifully blended; no notes stick out or seem out of place. On my skin, I don’t notice the bergamot or myrrh. I mostly get cardamom, ginger, coffee and tobacco. This scent isn’t overly sweet, which I enjoy, but I think it would layer well over a rich vanilla or sugary marshmallow. While it’s definitely best suited to cold weather, I appreciate how versatile Magenta Tanzanite is- equally appropriate for a board meeting or date night. I would describe this as mysterious, confident and seductive. It’s a powerful scent that really projects; I get compliments every single time I wear this. I’ve had my bottle for several years and it’s a room filler that lasts about 5-6 hours.

A soft spices bomb with a prominent cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, coffee and tobacco note. These spices are beautifully blended with a hint of freshness from the bergamot and a bit of warmth and balsamic feel from the myrrh. The vanilla and the tonka beans are the heavy base notes of the blend that add sweetness and an almondy, nutty texture to the mix. Magenta Tanzanite is what I personally would have liked Starlight from Xerjoff to be, an amazing spices blend and a moderate dose of sweetness. Smells similar to Minuit et Demi, but Minuit et Demi is even sweeter. Good performance overall. Stunning bottle that comes with a very high price tag! On my to buy list...

This was a love at first sniff for me! It is spicy, but fresh and warm at the same time. I get a lot of cardamom, but blended with the other notes it is sweet, thick and syrup-y. I feel like cardamom in perfumes tend to be way too overpowering but this is the fine line! I wish I got a bit more of the coffee, but it is there, well blended and gives that addicting touch to it all... Just wow. There are wears I have smelt this on my skin the day after, and sometimes I get whiffs that really stuns me and makes me think «is this my perfume???» and it is! For me, this is the definition of a perfect fall and winter perfume. It is everything I need.

Do not be fooled by the beautiful bottle because it is not as feminine as the color of the bottle would lead you to believe. It is spicy and sweet and mildly oriental leaning. To me it smells like dark chocolate dipped in a bowl of spices. The ginger is quite strong and not as short lived as I would have hoped but it eventually tones down after half hour after which becomes smoother. I would not say it resembles Changing Constance and if you are looking for an alternative to cc this is not it. It ever so slightly reminds me of tabacco vanille and angels share but not as sweet as the two but overall quite unique. Longevity is great.

Finally! A tobacco-forward spicy perfume that doesn't sour on me by the end of the day. I really like tobacco notes, they smell wonderful on paper and in the bottle, but don't wear well on me. This one is perfection. It's beautifully blended, spicy and just sweet enough without making you smell like a bakery. The bergamot and ginger fade fairly quickly, coffee comes out after an hour or so, the tobacco/cardamom/myrrh gets stronger, and the sweetness fades a little as the day goes on. I'd say this starts off pretty feminine and dries unisex. Office friendly only if you're a one spritz person. Full bottle worthy.

I missed acquiring a bottle of "Emper - Prive Magenta" after testing it at Marshalls and thankfully a fragrance-friend sent me a 2ml sample of the OG fragrance "Armani - Magenta Tanzanite". (Sprayed twice on back of hand...) This smells very similar to my "PDM - Herod". I'm getting Cherry-Tobacco for some reason...and I love it! This is WORLDS better than the "Emper - Prive Magenta" clone I tested at Marshalls...as that one came out soapy and nothing gourmand to be found in it. While I wouldn't buy a bottle of this as it is redundant to what I already own, I can say that this is an awesome fragrance.

I finally received my bottle today after having a sample for a few months. At first when I sprayed it I was like wait a minute, this isn’t the same thing. But, oh wait. You have this give this girl just a few minutes and then she just presents herself. My goodness, the spices the smokiness from the tobacco. She’s a type of scent that you keep smelling your wrist all day long going, “oh yeah.” If you’re not a big fan of spicy sense, this might be an OK one to try to sample because it’s not too in your face spicy, but just enough. But remember, she’s got a pretty price tag.

This is very nice. The top notes create a sort of green spice, supported by rich coffee and vanilla. The coffee and spices are prominent, with cardamom going strong after the initial spray dissipates. I wouldn't call this gourmand but it does smell delicious. This is an incredible warming and cozy scent for the cold months. The spiciness could be off-putting to others so go easy on the spray if wearing it to work or something, but this would be great for holiday parties and anytime you want to feel cozy and elegant.

Magenta Tanzanite has me in a choke hold. I dare say this will very quickly feature in my winter top 5. On opening you're hit with a gourmand spice profile. I get the Cardamom, Myrrh and a gentle smooth Coffee. As it drys down the Tobacco and Tonka notes really start to shine. It gives a depth to this fragrance that is quite deeply luxurious. If you like Tobacco, this would be a safe blind buy. The imagry I'm getting from this scent is sweet, alluring, broody and mysterious. I'd rate it 10/10

I get how this could be considered similar to Minuit et Demi, but for me this is a more refined and much more classy version of spicebomb extreme. It’s elegant and sophisticated but not less wearable. I’m getting Rehab from Initio vibes with that spicy cinnamony opening and it is so gorgeous. Projection and longevity might be stronger with MT. That happens to be the only downside with Rehab for me. I’m not ready to give up Rehab, but this is a lovely counterpart if you like that vibe as I do.

One word...INTOXICATING!! This to me is a cross between Tom Ford tobacco vanille and YSL la nuit de l'homme EDT. This is also very similar to Penhaligons Changing Constance with a more prominent tobacco note, perfectly unisex, men and women can rock this easy (I am a woman and this is one of my favs) but on a man this would be chefs kiss😍 For those that love this scent as well but don't want to break the bank, there is a very good dupe out there called PRIVE MAGENTA, you are welcome...😉

Lovely fragrance. The tobacco note is smoother than in Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford and overall it is spicy, but not too strong and overpowering. I believe it is suitable for both day and night and basically any occasion. I would prefer to wear it in fall / winter, but I think it may be good also in summer, but in colder climates or at night. I personally smell a subtle light floral note, maybe the combination of ginger and bergamot? And, of course, the bottle is absolutely stunning!

Had the chance to sample this literal "gem" — I'm getting a slightly smoky vanilla smoothly blended with warmer spicy elements, something you could call a light golden puff. It's energizing and an instant moodbuster, very creamy. I love it. I haven't tried Starlight or Changing Constance yet, but I'm astonished at how similar this is to Musc Ravageur, which smells more unisex-leaning and cooler to me, probably due to citruses and lavender. Might buy in the future.

quite surprised when looking at the list of "this perfume reminds me of" there is no Althair/Liquid Brun, because I clearly smell the same DNA fragrance as Althair/Liquid Brun but with a firm touch of spice and a smooth yet bold vanilla scent that comes and go, and very creamy well blend of tobacco. And again, Armani Prive lines executes its perfume very geniusly by presenting a masterpiece perfume. Love this perfume, it is truly very beautiful. 100/10

An enjoyable fragrance that reminds me of slowly simmered mulled wine after someone forgot to throw in the cloves. All the velvety fruit, boozy warmth, and cinnamon sugar glow, but without the sharp bite from the cloves. It’s basically drunk fruit punch in designer packaging. I don't pick-up on the coffee or the tobacco which must be adding to that mulled wine spice I do pick-up. It's relatively calming and well balanced. I like it.

So creamy and complex – I fell in love with it immediately and each time I go back to it just makes it better. I’m seriously considering buying the full bottle, but it’s a fair bit of cash, so I’m slightly wary. I don’t think any of the notes are overpowering, but rather they all blend in an amazing mix. It is spicy, but not the sort of spiciness that comes from pepper (which I personally don’t like at all).

Intoxicating sweet, spicy scent with a vanilla dry down. The tobacco is very prominent at first but it’s beautifully blended and smooth. The cardamom/vanilla/coffee combination smells so delicious. At first try I thought this was a masculine scent but now I can’t stop wearing it and the sweetness makes me wonder why I ever thought that in the first place. Reminds me a little of Penhaligons Halfeti.

I was bored tonight and sprayed this on my wrist for fun...it slapped me right in the face with cardamom and tonka, and while not listed in here, I smell cacao/chocolate. It’s a beast and I can’t stop sniffing it! I actually got it last year in fall and absolutely loved it, but in summer it morphs and becomes so addictive- it’s heavy, cloying and luxurious, obviously not for the faint of heart.

This is dreamy! The warm cardamom, the zingy ginger and the dry down with the vanilla....umm,ummm. This is my jam. This is not a gourmand by any means. It is an almost unisex, spicy and calming perfume to me. I heard that it's being compared to Minuit et Demi and Penhaligon's Changing Constance. I haven't sampled those, but now? I am intrigued.

WOW this is a sexy men's fragrance. Smells like a delicious blend of spices. It is def strong with good projection and is very long lasting. Very sexy for fall winter. Update: Now that I have gotten to know this scent more I realize it is sweet and feminine leaning. It reminds me of winter and the smell of gingerbread and ginger cookies!

The first spray - incredibly spicy, give 30 seconds to dry down. It reminds me of a spicy heaven at first and becomes this heavenly calm sweet smell. I absolutely adore this fragrance! It’s not a head turner but it’s still different enough to be a signature scent. It’s very eccentric. (You can layer it with other scents as well!)

A combination of my favorite notes: cinnamon, vanilla and a bit of darkness from tobacco notes. I can smell a realistic chocolate note (like a chocolate bar or bonbon). This smells like a mix of spicebomb, starlight, and tobacco vanille, and a little drop of Herod. Well the best aspects of them at least. This was a huge blind buy success. I can’t wait to wear it in fall and winter, this is a 10/10 fragrance to me. I would 💯 suggest testing it out, it’s worth it.

I love cardamom but i dont see myself wearing this often as its straight up tobacco and every other note is in the background,dont know if i can enter nonsmoking areas with this on lol it might set off a fire alarm,however its worth having and very attractive for both genders to my nose

This is the perfect spicy scent for fall! I can smell a sweet tobacco with cinnamon and cardamom. I also get a dry note which smells like cocoa powder, I smell that more than the coffee. Slightly sweet tobacco with hints of vanilla, truly a beautiful spicy perfume!!

Wow. It's something looks like Tobacoo Vanille by TF; but it doesn't looks like it at the same time. Here, T.V is retreating to the background giving a space to the cardamom and coffee to play at the top, making it more bright an more complicated.

Sorry to ask this here but did they discontinue this already?! I love love love this fragrance. It's sweet but not overwhelming. Alot of dry tobacco and spice. I rarely get back ups but I can't find it anywhere at regular price!

Beautiful perfume that's very similar to Starlight & Minuet et Demi. But the sillage and longevity are quite poor. At that hefty price tag, the performance should be outstanding. Bath & Body works has better performance.

I don't like perfumes that have tobacco in the notes, but this one won my heart. What a well-constructed perfume, that makes you want to smell the wonderful scent all the time! Very sexy and unforgettable 10/10

I wish I had tried this before purchasing Starlight. To me, Starlight is sweeter and MT is more interesting. My next fall fragrance will be this, although this would be beautiful on cooler summer evenings.

Category: Tobacco, spicy, fruity Notes: Sprays on an incredibly tart bergamot and spicy cardamom. Within a few minutes they fall to the side to give way to a wonderful tobacco which is soon accompanied by vanilla, myrrh and a smooth cinnamon lingering in the background. With time it develops a little bit of a powdery undertone alongside a warm vanilla and what can best be likened to that of dried fruit - a very mature and mild kind of sweetness. Vibe: Freshly baked apple pie. Smooth jazz. Whiskey neat. Cinnamon sticks. Spice cabinet. Hookah. Apple tobacco. Warm milk with cinnamon. Egg nog. Tarte tartin. Autumn foliage. Jack-o'-lantern. Sillage: 4/10. For such an expensive fragrance I really expected something with a little more projection. While it isn't a skin scent it’s very mild. Longevity: 8.5/10. Despite the disappointing sillage this has excellent staying power. Lasted a good 11 hours before it became near indistinguishable. Wear: Day or night. Strictly fall and winter. Definitely a good contender for Christmas or Thanksgiving celebrations. Overall rating: 7/10. Trying this out for the first time today as my Christmas Eve scent. Surprisingly unisex for a composition that looks like it would lean very masculine. I would say it does lean mildly masculine, but overall I'd consider it a true unisex. If I didn't know any better I could've sworn there was apple in the composition as the smell is nearly identical to that of apple flavored hookah tobacco. Once this has had some time to settle in, the vanilla and tobacco share an equal amount of time the spotlight, at least on my skin and the longer it sits the fruitier it becomes - almost reminiscent of raisins or other dried fruits. While it is spicy, it absolutely isn't the kind of spicy that stings your nose or overpowers the scent - the spices are just there to support the vanilla, tobacco and myrrh. The dry-down is also very similar to Dior Fève Délicieuse (but like 10x less loud) so if you like that you'll probably enjoy this as well. Powerful, yet warm and cozy, this is perfect for winter and fall - despite being a typical fall scent it's an unexpectedly easy and light wear, not heavy in the slightest. One thing I don't like about it however is that it ends up oily, almost a little sticky, on my skin which for me is a bit of a sensory nightmare. As someone who isn't a huge fan of spicy scents I’d say this is a good introduction for anyone who also isn't a fan of spicy fragrances - overall I like it, but it's not a must-have by any means. I didn’t read the notes and reviews prior to testing this perfume just to see if my nose is smart enough by now. I correctly guessed almost all the notes in the scent pyramid except for bergamot and Tobacco. It reminds me of the opening of Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily until the coffee kicks in. I was so excited I had to go back to the store to test it on my skin. This smells like when you walked past an Arabic coffeehouse. I surprisingly didn’t pick up the Tobacco note until I read it here and now I can smell it. My skin usually amplifies Tobacco to the point that it drowns out all the other notes but not on this one. It’s really well blended. I even like the ginger that usually smells sour on me, and even the cinnamon doesn’t smell like a sneeze in this. The bottle is really pretty but I don’t understand why this is in a magenta bottle. It would makes sense if it’s in coffee colored bottle with a more suitable name. It’s only the price that stopped me from having this in my collection. Absolutely FB worthy! Moderate projection and longevity. Unisex to my nose. My Dad said it’s feminine leaning and too sweet for him. It’s not too sweet for me but then I like Gourmands. Ps: I’m torn between the two sisters. 😩 I like Indigo too. Update: Drydown is smokey and still sweet tobacco

#1569 in y "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from scentsplit.com for $8.99. Cardamom, tobacco, vanilla, cinnamon, a really commonplace combination for a $370 scent. Armaf "Voyage Titan is $20. "Fragrance World "Apex" is $30 and French Avenue "Aromatix X Royal Taboo" is $57. All very similar. You can get something more gourmand like Kilian's "Intoxicated' or something fruitier like Parfums D'Empire "Aziyade", or something like this with some patchouli like Penhaligon's "Blazing Mr. Sam", all for less than this costs. Even Creed "Centaurus" and PDM "Herod" are less expensive. Don't get me wrong. I like this scent. This is a moderate quality scent (fades away by lunchtime). It's not $370 good. It's just likeable and comfortable. Cool weather wear that I think everyone will respond to positively, making it versatile for any environment or use. But there are so many scents like this to choose from, and I still have a full bottle of Paco Rabanne "1 Million Prive" to use up. Only a bottle of Boadicea "The King" would cost you more than this Armani, and as I did not win the 1.8BUSD Powerball last night, niggling things like price still concern me. So this is not going on my "must have" list.

Soft and pleasant spicy scent that to me smells very natural. It doesn't have that heavy woody base that for example Jazz Club has nor do the spices come with a hefty dose of ethyl maltol as they do in Black Opium Extreme by YSL or Yes I Am by Cacharel. I don't associate this with any gender and find it very wearable even though my taste is quite "feminine" leaning. I understand the comparisons to TF Tobacco Vanille, but even though I love that smell itself and find it very smooth and velvety (love that clove note!), it's a little too dense for me to wear personally. I also see the resemblance to Kilian Angel Share, however, that one I hate as it's very thick and sweet and turns into something terrible on my skin. This one is much more subtle in comparison and the sweetness is moderate. I'm not sure if it's a like or love though; in the dry down I smell lots of coumarin which bothers me a little.

Notes from my first wear test: Sprayed on at 2:30pm yesterday. The scent felt pretty linear; a warm, powdery, medicinal smell. Almost leans a bit older than I would usually go, I’m 37. Regardless of age, this fragrance smells expensive! A previous reviewer mentioned that it smells better when wafting than when placed directly on the nose, I agree 100%. Kept thinking about what vanilla, ginger, or cardamom perfumes I might try layering it with because I want to amp those elements a bit. Considering Burberry Goddess EDP, Gucci Bloom Parfum, or Replica Jazz Club as possible pairings. It’s now 1pm the next day and my arm smells so good that I want to eat it! Beautiful cinnamon and baking spices are left behind, like mulled wine or pumpkin pie. I can kind of understand the barbershop comment below, but less of a green aromatic way and more akin to Old Spice.

I would have thought this was a Xjerkoff perfume if I didn't already know otherwise. It is reminiscent of 'Starlight' crossed with 'Golden Dahlla' from Xjerkoff but still it's own thing. I see that it's also compared to 'Changing Constance' by Penhaligons, which I agree with totally. It is very similar to this perfume, but I think I prefer the dry down more on the other similar options than this one. However, it's a very beautiful sweet and spicy perfume within this category and if you don't own any of the others above, then may be for you. Edit to say this one lasts AGES! The dry down goes very Christmas spiced biscuits on me, a little cloying in the heat, but I think in the autumn and winter it would be great.
