Myrrhe Impériale

Newer resinous perfumes such as this have restored my faith in the industry's ability to make beautiful and modern oriental fragrances. They have always been a favorite of mine going back to the days when Opium was launched and inherited the torch as the reference oriental from Queen Shalimar. Due to many factors, including changing tastes and restrictions on ingredients, this particular category has suffered the same fate as the once ubiquitous chypres. However, what once was old can be new again, and it's heartening for me to see that perfumery, niche in particular, has restored these two types of fragrance and made them desirable again. Myrrhe Impériale has the potential to become a true love of mine. It is rich, luxurious, and, more to the point, sexy. Definitely unisex, but I think that there is something intoxicating and quite Femme Fatale about this one. It starts out sweet, spicy,and heady, with a bit of a medicinal edge to it that thankfully passes. Many like that quality. I do not. Beyond that, not much changes as it moves towards the mid notes. Each note listed in the pyramid above is detectable if you concentrate, saffron being the weakest. The pink pepper adds a touch of heat and rosiness, but it's really all about the myrrh, benzoin, amber, and vanilla. The quality is excellent. I can not comment yet on longevity, but I can say that even a small amount projects nicely. It's a warm day today, so obviously that is having an impact. The ultimate test will be when the weather gets cold. This will be beautiful around the holidays. Right now, all I have is a pack of 6 brand samples. I would like to own a full bottle and perhaps one day I will. It's certainly full bottle worthy, but given the size of my collection, I don't know if it is necessary. I am in the beginning stages of an incense obsession, so who knows? I may purchase simply because I want it, even though I don't need it!!

Settle down, class: the theme of today's seminar is Classic French Elegance and your instructor Madame la Myrrhe is in full session. Sweeping, polished, impeccably presented and with an air of unquestioned command, but she has an unusual mellow warmth to her voice and a dirty chuckle which goes downright animalic at times. I'm smitten. This is the sort of softened, rounded myrrh which makes itself cuddly and loveable rather than poking you in the nose with a sharp, alcoholic slap, and which melds around you in a puddle of classy comfort, rather than boxing you in to an uncomfortably stiff and formal 'high fashion' brace. Just stone-classic, strong, genuine and distinctive myrrh sweetened to exactly the right degree (for my taste, so: still kind of spicy-dry, not reaching toffee-syrupiness) by the amber and benzoin; surprisingly spiky spices giving it a lovely kick; the whole interplay working out as a gloriously snuggly, almost furry blanket of silky-smooth contentment. It's a reverie - even for a slow student of myrrh's charms like me. Not always a fan of the study material, but I'd pay attention to this forever ... IF I could find it at a decent price; but as it's discontinued and beloved, that seems unlikely. Yet like Annette Neuffer's (even lovelier, but even pricier and all-natural, so more fragile) Avicenna Myrrha Mystica, it has the power of serious persuasion - taking my fear of the snappy-cold-harsh side of myrrh and turning it completely inside out, to make its myrrh-centric nature its whole reason for being, and still offering a warm welcome. Mind blown, really. May need to think it over and revise more of my prior prejudices - and that means it's the best sort of education.

Myrrhe Impériale is, to my nose, a classy and very elegant take on myrrh. It is extremely well balanced between opulence & discretion. It will absolutely conjure up all those luxurious images of oriental fairy tales but through a delicate & palatial aroma that may not boast its presence yet is immeasurably irresistible at close quarters. Following a short-lived sugary punch, Myrrhe Impériale acquires during its opening a slightly medicinal touch that may be kind of misleading for a while, even off-putting, as it creats an impression of the fragrance being "diluted" or "weak". This initial phase lasts for no more than 10-20 minutes, before the perfume settles & the best of myrrh's aromatic facets start to culminate, dominating the composition. Myrrhe Impériale displays an almost linear performance throughout its subtle yet ever lasting drydown. MI feels balsamic & warm on the skin with a beautiful vibe of smoky vanilla complementing the incensy sweetness of myrrh. As time passes MI becomes just a bit smokier & effectively more "solid" as the glowing nuances of amber enrich the composition with distant leathery, woody & musky undertones, creating overall (in the absence of ambergris, strong spices, etc.) a velvety sweet light-oriental distinct potion of meditative aromatic bliss that gratifies the senses. 8/10 P.S. Despite the fact that I fully appreciate the calming beauty of Myrrhe Impériale and its quality overall, I cannot even for a single second justify in my mind its extravagant retail price. IMHO this offering is extremely overpriced. Hadn't I been lucky to grab an unused tester for 115,00€, I would never have considered adding this perfume to my collection.

....well. FUCK me. I was hovering around selfridges today, namely the armani makeup section and saw these beautiful box shaped bottles with little pebble shaped stoppers on them, lined up on a display. The entire Prive collection. i picked up each one and sniffed from the nozzles. nope. next. tested out all of them. majority smelled YUCK, especially the Jade one. This was the second to last bottle I tested out. Gave this a sniff then put it down. Then I was like 'wait hang on....' I picked up the bottle again and upon second sniff from the nozzle I had a nosegasm. I was like 'Jesu Christ kill me now'. I sniffed it for about 42 seconds non stop. then i braved spraying some on my arm and lord have mercy this is one of the most beautiful things ive ever smelled PERIOD. This shits on them all! It shits on Shalimar, shits on Oud Ispahan, shits on Black Orchid, No5, Chance, Coco... I'm so sorry for my bad language but this has ignited a passion in me. £190 a bottle.... but i WILL have it. It WILL be mine!!! At first spray its VERY sharp and dry pepper scent with a little bit of a burnt rubber base. If you can brace yourself during this ugly stage for half an hour you will be rewarded with a cloud of luxury spice. The rubberized smell eventually goes away (at least on me it does) and the benzoin and amber rounds this out into a dusty yet smooth and very slightly sweet smoke scent. Do try this on the skin. It's not for the faint hearted. If you love Opium, like I do, then you'll love this. Please try it!

I was smiling reading foxy_princess review. Even though I won't use the same language, I must admit I have kind of the same experience, I was in transit in Copenhagen airport and I went to the duty free section in search for some niche - special editions perfumes. Thank heaven I found Dior's, Channels and Armani Prive collections. (Funny thing - when smelling Dior's Oud Ispahan, the seller approach me and told me "these are really expensive". After a long jeourney I was not dressed up and I guess I looked tired. But I felt like being in the scene in Pretty Woman 'even though I am a guy' when she is in a luxury clothes store, and because she was not having the right image, they thought she could not afford buying there. :-D ) Anyway. I move on and good that I did, because just some feet away I found the Armani Prive Collection. And as foxy_princess, I smelled all of them. But just Oud -Amber and this one caught my attention. I ended up buying this one, and i have absolutely NOT REGRETS. This is a jewel among jewels. (I feel pity for the ones paying £190. I payed £130 at the airport. ) A treasure among treasures. This is gives you the experience of having found something so unique after a long search. This is just BEAUTIFUL. and in my skin long lasting. Sillage above moderate, but not heavy. I hate to sound pretty cliche but there are not other words to describe this. You wil be surrounded by a creamed Amber-myhrr mixture that is just magic.

I had to revisit this one and I'm so glad I did. I managed a decant from a 2018 batch and when I was testing the sillage/projection, I was floored. I sprayed a clean t-shirt two or three times and once or twice over my comforter in my bedroom and when I reentered about 20min later, the whole room smelt absolutely amazing, a sweet resinous charred wood. Now I remember my bottle from 2016 batch was more airy, a tad sharp, dry and slightly metallic. This decant is still a bit dry and definitely smokey but it's richer (sweet) and warmer (like the very first bottle I ever got my nose on back in 2014), perhaps more benzoin/vanilla then myrrh...? A reviewer a few posts below wrote that they only get 2hrs longevity but I'm thinking a case of going nose blind. I thought I only managed five hours or so with moderate to light projection/sillage but I was surprised to hear otherwise. I went to a friends home and was immediately met with some praise, everyone said it was really nice but, "a little strong" and "tad abrasive" (I wore four or five sprays...perhaps I'll do just three max the next go) but again, well received. I got a text the next day saying they could still smell my fragrance lingering downstairs and asked again what I was wearing. Smashing scent and I will be repurchasing a bottle for my collection.

I ́ve been delving into the fragrance-game quite a lot recently (and that is saying something, as I ́ve been a fragrance fan, since I started at age 12-13), and so I ́ve been buying & blindbuying some designer & niche, but wanted to explore the niche market more so, as I ́ve never really owned any niche until a few days ago. So I went on the prowl in a local upscale department store and by chance, found this gem, almost hidden in plain sight. As soon as it hit my skin and nose, I was blown away by the sweet, spiced smokiness and deep luciousness of this fragrance. The myrrhe bleeds into this wonderful scent of brown sugar, honey & peppery vanilla, with a dark musky backbone. After about half an hour the pepper comes back and the amber kicks in, and the scent feels more like a fireplace that is just right, smouldering, slightly smokey and warm. Wow! Projection seems decent, but I ́ll need to try it again for that purpose, same goes for sillage. Longevity, 12 hours and counting.. Now its a pricey fragrance, about 300 US, but I was lucky enough to get a sample & my birthday is juuust around the corner, so fingers crossed.. For me this is a 9 out of 10, but only because of the pricetag, otherwise a defo 10/10!

Myrrhe Imperiale is another interesting entry in the Armani Prive line. It is mainly a mix of myrrh, vanilla, and amber. I don't get much more out of it but the blend of these three main element is very easy to wear but also provides a sense of reservation and sophistication; it's neither cloyingly sweet nor harshly incensed. I don't get much of the pink pepper or saffron at all. This reminds me of Imaginary Authors Memoir of a Trespasser in terms of the dominance of the myrrh and vanilla. They're comparable in terms of overall sweetness:incense ratio as well as refinement. My inclination is to suggest that Myrrhe Imperiale might be somewhat more refined than Memoirs of a trespasser but that might be hasty if I'm not smelling them simultaneously, so perhaps that's for future judgment. The performance on this is very good, above average for an EDP, which for the retail price of $290 for 100ml, is a must. Discounted on Beautyspin ($215 for 100ml) like most of the other Armani Prive entries, like most fragrances you'd pay more than $200 for, you really do need to love it. A worthy try for fans of myrrh, incense, amber, or vanilla and perhaps someone's future winter staple. 8 out of 10

L'Oreal makes all these Armani Private Collections. And let me tell you, they are making these rather well. While I personally prefer the true Arab authenticity of, say, the Amouage house, I do respect the European attempt of L'Oreal trying their hand at making very good oriental fragrances. This one is truly a pleasant oriental "journey" with very smooth and refined hues and nuances, starting with a bitter-sweet start of genuine Myrrhe of biblical dimensions for some good 45 minutes turning into a beautifully warm, vanillic, saffron dry-down. If Baby Jesus had a smell, it would be this! LOL However, it is a bit too cliché and too soft (feminine) for me: just like a cartoon or a perfect kitsch poster. It is just "too perfect". That's why I prefer Amouage's concoctions for they have some development and are edgier and all the more compelling. Perhaps it is due to the fact that L'Oreal is headed by women and mainly makes women's consumer goods, whereas AMOUAGE is more of a male driven business....am I mistaken? It is a great product though and the quality is undoubtedly there. I wished it had more development and edges. 8/10

Finally managed to snag a low partial of this at a price that didn’t make my soul leave my body. Honestly, I’m glad I trusted my instinct. From the very first inhale, Myrrhe Impériale feels like stepping into a quiet, gold‐lit sanctuary where everything is softened, slowed and slightly sacred. The myrrh comes through smooth and smoky, never harsh, like resin warmed in an old brass burner. There’s this creamy richness underneath, almost velvety, that wraps around the incense and keeps it from drifting into cold-church territory. It’s majestic without trying, the kind of elegance that doesn’t raise its voice. What really gets me is the blend. It’s seamless. No edges, no sharp transitions, just this steady, meditative aura that feels both ancient and modern. One spray is genuinely enough for me; it sits close, but with intention, like a whispered presence rather than a shout. The kind of scent that makes you feel composed, centred, and quietly powerful. It’s beautiful. It’s serene. It’s one of those rare fragrances that feels like it was made to be worn slowly.

After receiving news from Armani reps that this was being discontinued in early 2020, I decided to purchase a full bottle of Myrrhe Impériale; a happy coincidence as I was starting to run low on my decant. To make a long story short, Myrrhe Impériale is a masterpiece of resinous sweetness with a light amber at its core. Even in its most recent formulation, the longevity is flabbergasting (~24hrs) and the projection deceptively strong (3+hrs). To my nose, the only noticeable difference from the "vintage" is that newer bottles are perhaps not quite as syrupy sweet and potent in the opening (this might make the newer bottles a tad more versatile to some). If you're a fan of sweet ambers and myrrh, I highly recommend you check this one out before it's gone forever; Myrrhe Impériale is a perfect cozy scent for cold winter days and nights. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 8.5/10 Originality: 8/10 Overall (not an average): 9/10 Batch used for review: 62RN00N

Just a brief update...got a sample of this the other day and tried it on my skin in the shop. Again...this is very much up my street, the opening is wonderful and I get my fix from that alone. The dry down however? I have to concur with Harmonia's review below it's actually a bit disappointing. The myrrh which is so great and ever present in the opening, does fade quickly. I'm not going to nay say too much because it's still an excellent, luxurious perfume that is far better than many. If only it lived up to the opening I would hail this as a favourite of mine for sure. Update: Having worn a generous application of this now for nearly 6 hours I have to say the ambery/peppery/resinous nature of this is so good!!! Myrrh has remained okay this time(although it's faded now) and this perfume is stunning!!! I really really love it and have to have it.

Myrrhe Impériale is one the best myrrh fragrance that I own as a nieche fragrance. The notes of benzion and amber gives it a real attractive warm-spicy-smokey aroma. For whatever reason, I'm not able to pick up any saffron? A real attractive, opulent and elegant aroma. Longevity and Silage is excellent, I spray it 2-3x on my skin and it lasts well past 8hrs Overall, When I first seen this collection, I thought that it was way too much. In the last several years, the prices have gone up...I don't know if it's because of profit or quality..or maybe both. All aside, I do appreciate this juice and I bought it. The aroma of Myrrh has a very clean and deep combined with a hint of spicy/smokey blend perfect during the fall and winter months. Highly recommended if you can afford it. 9/10

Goddamn this fragrance is good. It's the smoothest, most intoxicating myrrh I think I've ever smelled and I believe in the winter it smells, as another reviewer put it, otherworldly. The staying power could rival Sharpie and although powerful, I find its sillage moderate - enough to announce itself and draw compliments but it doesn't permeate a room and risk offending any who don't like it (and I imagine they are few and far between). It smells so beautiful that I'm sure even those that wear light, fresh and fruity scents would appreciate this on someone else. Incredibly refined and elegant, as it should be for its hefty price tag, this fragrance is a statement of elegance to be worn with your best suit or little black dress. A must for fans of orientals.

Ohhhh myyyyyyyy goooooooodnessssss THIS STUFF SMELLS SO GOOD!!!! I honestly don't know how anyone could NOT enjoy this stunning masterpiece of a gem. Longevity great Silage great Quality great Smell very great I don't think I would pay full retail, but if you can get this at $150-$175 DONT pass it up. If you sample, you will buy I'm sure. I have some very honest people in my "fragrance testing circle" that give me great feedback, usually I never get all of them to like one fragrance, there's always one or two that have some sort of criticism, even on Aventus, but NOT this one. They all liked it Very few fragrances get a 10 in my collection. I started at giving this a 9, but after wearing it a few times, it gets the seal of masterpiece 10

Wow! Wow! Wow! Why is this discontinued? I purchased a sleeve of 2 Ml samples and put them into a 30 Ml bottle - a bargain way to have this based on the extortionate reseller prices! This opens up woody, dry and floral with a bit of a pink pepper sparkle that very much reminded me of blvgari’s Jasmin Noir( not splendida). As MI warms in my skin, the benzoin, vanilla and myrrh start start to shine. This becomes more and more gooey and resinous as it dries down, with just the right amount of sweetness from the vanilla. The projection is outstanding! I can smell myrrh imperiale within arms length as I move about. I’d love to own a bottle but not at $1000! Pm if you have a partial or fb that you want to sell or trade.

Overall: 9.75/10 Here's Why: Luminous, glowing myrhh with a smoky vanilla and just the right amount of pepper to make this one sweet and just the slightest bit spicy. Not spicy in a traditional sense, but the spice adds to the incense effect and boy is it special. The benzoine practically melts on the skin, a vaporous saffron musk lingers in the background. This one evolves and warms, it's incredbile when mixed with the likes of TF Tobacco Oud, Oud Wood or even Creed Milesime Imperial. Youthful without smelling young and elegant without smelling powdery. This fragrant adventure is both curious and thought provoking. Best for night, but suitable for the workplace. A solid Entry from Armani Prive.

Wow! Just tried this the other day and I was thoroughly absorbed by it! Fantastically opulent & transports you to a bygone era. It's quite linear in composition and delivers resinous spice with few surprises. It's Myrrh with carefully chosen complementary ingredients but that's what I like about this kind of scent. Smells really expensive...and actually IS really expensive!!! I only tried it on a little ribbon (which I felt a bit silly with) I'm sure more depth will come out on the skin. I love these precious fragrances I've lots in my sights which are similar to this (and more affordable) at the moment so I'm not in a hurry to get it. Still this is an amazing fragrance no doubt about it!

A masterclass in resins. Benzoin, myrrh and amber, each playing off one another... Amber has this royal gourmand element to it -- benzoin does too, now that I think of it -- and myrrh is dry and sedate. All three together, in a the same place at the same time is a blessing for the nose. Such a pleasure to sniff this and take it all in. I got this bottle 5 or 6 years ago 'just in case', and I didn't use it for the first 4 or 5 years -- last year I found it again just before moving, and I just unearthed it earlier this week, and I put it on this afternoon, and OMG I am so glad I own this. It smells UTTERLY majestic. Royal, classic and totally TOTALLY attention grabbing. LOVE THIS.

Absolutely Marvellous! A refined version of Ambre Fétiche...! I love Ambre Fétiche, but I do not wear it often because it's such a beast. Today I received a generous Myrrhe Impériale decant from a fellow fragrantican and tough I had firmly decided to buy NO PERFUME for a year (yes, all of 2014), I must say my resolution got a big dent. (Thanks D.!) No overwhelming patchouli here, this beautiful amber scent has benzoin, saffron, a good dose of myrrhe -of course- + vanilla and pink pepper, you do the math... Thick velvet and pepper go well together, is what I say. But I should stop screaming and just let the scent envelope me. Life is good. (insert happy smiley)

I had to return my bottle :( I sniffed this at a Giorgio Armani boutique back in 2013/14 and I remember it being a warm, bodied, sweet smokey vanilla amber. The bottle that I received was a 2015 batch, code 62M800. I found it to be more dry and kind of sharp, not much more then a slightly sweet incense/smoke. It's just not what I remember. The performance was good. The first 1.5 - 2hrs projected solid, followed by another 3 hrs of moderate projection, before becoming more of a skin scent for a few more hours. Overall, I did like the scent but I couldn't justify holding on to it at that price. I don't think I'd wear it much at all. Nice but not for me.

This is a force of nature, and I absolutely adore it! I have so little left, that I’m afraid to use it for all but the most special occasion. It is dark, and warm, and delicious. I grew up in the Middle East, and later worked in a school in England, with a chapel attached, so that incense from Mass would swirl around the entire building. This scent recalls both of those experiences to me. I live in the Australian tropics now, so it’s not always congruous with my environment, but sometimes my need to wear this is overwhelming. On my skin it lasts all day, but much, much longer on clothing. When I eventually finish the bottle, I will mourn its passing.

I have come to a conclusion that myrrh is my favorite incense note ever, it's not the church association incense, it's the opposite. It's amazing and done in many different ways. This is probably one of the best myrrh compositions out there. Whilst still a designer fragrance, Armani has targeted a niche market and used very high quality ingrediants here . This stuff will last all day and through the night. While there is no way I would pay full retail, I would however pay $175 for this all day long. I've seen it for around there on sales and eBay. What a great scent! Unisex, long lasting, nose and crowd pleasing. Just amazing! 9/10

Sampled this fragrance at Neiman Marcus a few days ago and all I can say is: this is literally the best thing I have ever smelled in my life. Period. Just became my all-time favorite fragrance. Evokes images of a dry, dusty desert at sunset. Amazing quality, warm, masculine, sensual, and a bit mysterious. This fragrance feels practically Biblical. This is like the fragrance equivalent of a Jimi Hendrix guitar solo. Not to mention it always gets tons of compliments.A bit surprised that incense is not a listed note, as this fragrance seems to have a strong smokey note, perhaps it's just an accord formed by the spices.

I love this fragrance so much I wore it at my wedding. And I was the bride. I guess that the day was near Christmas made it more appropriate, and indeed as much as I love this, I would only wear it in the cold months. It doesnt suit warm weather at all. One spray lasts well into the next day. It is expensive yes, but nothing like it elsewhere, and i like it enough to buy another bottle when this runw out. I love the warm frankincense.. and i dont really find it sweet. It is very sophisticated and elegant. Love it. The others in the privee line with gold tops yes also, the coloured tops not so much.

This is a great fragrance. Out of all the samples I just tried I enjoy this one the most. I defiantly get the myrrh . It's been sweetened by some vanilla and a touch of Amber. I do believe this one smells much different on skin than paper, naturally. I'm really going to consider this full bottle worthy at this time. It's defiantly more masculine than feminine. I'm sure this would be great in the winter cold months. I could see it being a comfort scent in those climates. Just well done and pleasant to smell. Great quality and defiantly worth buying s sample.

A beautiful vanilla fragrance with strong support of incense (benzoin) and pink pepper. Who will have the patience to wait until the late drydown to write down their review will be able to report the appearance of an heavenly spicy/balsamic/aromatic myrrh, not only vanilla. I wish that stage arrived earlier, and had a more prominent role, though. Projection is moderate, but longevity is great. Overall great, but probably not worth the retail price (unless you look for a vanilla fragrance - it's one of the best ones around). Best worn in colder season.

This is an absolute favorite of mine. I bought a back up from Neiman Marcus in November 2020 after I heard it was being discontinued before they were all gone. I have never opened that one and I keep it in a beverage fridge so it will be pristine when and if I ever finish my original bottle. I do not *want* to sell it, but I have decided that if some other fanatic wants to pry it from my tight grip with a large wad of cash they can have it. Message if you're a serious buyer willing to drop close to a grand on it.

@slpfrsly, You possibly could be anosmic or maybe this fragrance just doesn't work with your skin but I have a little sample I picked up from Neiman Marcus earlier today. It's one of those roll on types of sample vials and even after washing my hands, I can still kind of smell it. But then again, I have always had good luck with fragrances lasting a decent amount of time on my skin. Even ones that nearly everybody says have no projection or longevity, like D&G The One for example, do very well on my skin.

I love this fragrance. And I can say this has the best dry down in my collection I mostly use it in formal dressing and have good comments on this. I believe this is not very much discussed like other private lines like dior and Tom Ford. But I can tell you armani private line is awesome. I also own vetiver babylone and it is also good one. By the way I am happy it is not very much hyped. I want this not to be very common fragrance. I know I sound like selfish. But for this yes I am.

In Addition to my previous Review: 10/10 After owning for a few months now I can say there is nothing on the market even remotely close to this. This is a spirtual, uplifting, mood changing, aromatic experience. This stuff is truly incredible. Dry, Sweet, warm, smoky and blissful. This is what I imagine the Royal Pharoah's/King's/Queen's of ancient Egypt wearing. I cannot get enough of this. Makes me want to stockpile it so no one else can have any!!!!

Wow! This must be one of the best oriental fragrances created ever. The mix of myrrh, vanilla, amber and spices are irresistible and stunning. This creamy, luxurious scent is my favourite oriental fragrance together with Acqua di Parma Ambra. The dry down on Myrrhe Imperiale is magical. It just gets better and better as time goes by! The longevity is outstanding. Expensive, but worth every penny. Unisex, a bit on the masculine side. 10/10!

WOW!!!! I don't often comment in the review section, but I felt this was worthy of a few words from me. I have a few from the Prive line already, and they are exceptional. The desicion to purchace this fragrance was made instantly when I first sniffed it on my wrist. Most of my purchases are made after 2 or 3 tests. What can I say...I love ouds, I love woods...now I love myrhh...and I love this. Well worth seeking out for a try.

Yes! A thousand times yes! This was one of the few perfumes that almost instantly became a loved perfume. And it's one of the few perfumes I'd be willing to save up money for, in order to buy a full sized bottle. Better yet, I'd probably be better off selling some bottles I don't use anymore and use that money for this wonderful gem! A detailed review will come, later on. I just had to share my joy and enthusiasm with you guys!

Although I'm not usually excited about myrrh as a note as I struggle with some myrrh dominant compositions, I find this one to be excellent. There is a combination of smoky sweet resinous notes that makes this highly enjoyable and classy smelling for me. More dry than creamy (smoky myrrh), but very warm and calming. Excellent composition! Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 5/10

Guys! Bad news, 2016 batches are REFORMULATED :( i rly didnt want to accept that but it is the truth. i have 2015 sample and had the 2014 batch both have more depth more rounded and last more, the 2016 formula is sharp with less vanilla and less myrrh, the depth is gone! im very sad, very very sad since i wanted to wear this on my wedding day! but sadly i wont!

love at first sniff! at the opening it welcomes you with warm and odd smell(odd but in a good way). all notes were perfectly blended and every note plays its role equally. on a woman, it smells sexy(it wakes your id), on a man it gives you confidence. on me it smells like sahara noir(by tom ford) but in more loudy way. i like it, it will be my next purchase!

This is a nice sent, a bit to strong initialy. The first coupple of hours are to die fore. I get whiffs of lovely resinous heaven as I walk in a cold city eavning. The sent sticks like glue. Next day syntetic vanilla, woun't go even after a shower. Now i get the sent back on my skin from my coat sleeve. The best part i FB worthy, The rest unbareable. Torn.

I bought this one since I really like Ex Nihilo Amber Sky and this one not only smells very similar but there is a significant price difference. It's an excellent cold night fragrance. Besides the Myrrh, Amber and Benzoin , I get a strong incense smell that's very nicely done and gives it a formal tone. I strongly recommend it.

This smells of myrhh with hints of amber and saffron, and strong incense. It's very smoky. It's pleasant to my nose. It reminds me a lot of Replica By the Fireplace. Sillage is moderate while longevity is moderate at around 4 hours of strong projection and many more hours of lighter projection. 4/5

reviewing this one again...smelling it, i get the feeling that this one is incomplete. lacking something. short of a few ingredients. it feels ALL base with no top or middle...don't get me wrong it smells majestic and is incredibly well put together, it's just a little lacking...

Wow!!! Just got a compliment off my mum praise indeed! She NEVER normal comments (positively) on my choice of fragrance. But she loved this one...as do I and asked me what it was...I just said it's a sample and it's expensive. Christmas present for your darling son maybe?

For me this is one of the greatest creations of perfumery ever created. This agrees with my personality so well. So rich and resiny not too strong/loud but just enough to make you feel exotic. Get your nose on this one because its a sleeper no one ever talks about.

this is some seriously sophisticated material here. three different resins all blended flawlessly to make a super-resin. the stuff of white lab coats and microscopes and gene-splicing. such a mature and restrained scent that is sooo good. 9/10...

I love the warmth to this, I feel like there is a sparkle to this - something that reminds me of stars in the night. I’m at a loss for words how to describe it. I am sad this is discontinued, so I will use my bottle wisely because I love this.

My husband bought this one a while ago and I always loves it on him. Wore it myself one day and a male colleague said that he just wants to follow me everywhere because this smells so good and leaves a trail behind. I absolutely love it

Why did you discontinued it armani? WHY? The most beautiful myrrhe fragrance ever, long lasting, smells like an orthodox church, i have so much memories attached to this fragrance, please bring it back, so i can buy 250 ml bottles.
