Ocean di Gioia

TOP NOTES: In the top we have Pear, Green Notes and Citruses. I can instantly feel the citruses in the opening and some green notes but the green notes are not sharp or vivid at all. The green notes are smooth and like washed away a bit, they are mixed up pretty well with the citruses and the pear note which gives the soft touch of slightly, almost unnoticeable sweetness and kind of an airy vibe to the opening, but also a bit fruity in the combination with the citruses. THE MIDDLE NOTES: Here we have beautiful white floral combo of Water Jasmine, Lily-of-the-Valley, Salt and Rose. And all seems to be good but the salt note is like a bit out of the entire floral picture, but I get why it is here. Yes, I start to get the beautiful tenderness and elegance of the jasmine and a bit powdery vibe from the lily-of-the-valley but it also is complimented very nicely by the salt note which gives a marine or oceanic vibe to the entire fragrance throughout its performance. And yes, I need to mention that although there isn't any way to naturally extract the oil from the lily-of-the-valley and all the perfumes containing this note use synthetic compounds, this one here is very close to the natural scent of the flower which I remember well from my childhood, when I was picking up the flowers in spring to gift them to my mom. I need to mention though that although we are in the middle of the pyramid now, the fruitiness is still present but it is more blended in with the florals at this stage. BASE NOTES: In the base we have only two notes and they are one of my favourite and these are Musk and Sandalwood. So, yeah, I loooove this note very much. In this case I can clearly feel it in the base once the fragrance starts to dry down. It becomes softer and cleaner in a way. The musk still keeps the soft clean kind of sweetness but it also makes the entire scent to become like very sensual, a bit warm, slightly powdery. it gives this kind of a smooth and elegant, feminine type of vibe, while the sandalwood give the richness and character to the scent and it is clearly noticeable in the base, but it is still blended very nicely with the musk and the rest of the notes. TYPE OF SCENT: So, overall I'd describe this scent as being fresh and fruity with a soft citrusy/green vibes that slowly turn into slightly salty-oceanic-floral aroma drying down into a musky-woody vibe that becomes a soft and clean slightly fruity oceanic floral skin type of scent. PERFORMANCE: The longevity of this fragrance is moderate on my skin in summer and a bit weak in spring. I'd say around 4-5 hours if applying 5-8 sprays. The sillage and projection are also moderate. This is a perfect fragrance for hot summer days or warm spring and autumn days especially if you want to carry an oceanic and fresh aquatic vibe around you. I'd personally give an 8.5 out of 10 to it only because I feel that the citruses here are a bit synthetic and the longevity is not the best, but still overall I love the scent profile of this fragrance, just regret that it is discontinued. But as I mentioned, there is a close alternative Armani Acqua di Gioia and today 100 ml costs £85 in the UK on Notino but there you can enjoy a lot of discounts around end of season or bank holidays, so keep an eye on this online store.

I hope they have not reformulated this but I just bought a bottle from Armani 2 weeks ago and it was not the same. The date code indicated it was produced 7 months ago so maybe it needs to sit a while? It was missing the sweetness that made it a "ocean sweet blue" version of Aqua di gioia. I initially chose this when it was released because I like Lily of the valley/water jasmine and can detect it in this perfume but it is well blended. I did not detect the salt note but that is no surprise to me as I don't think I am good a detecting some notes. It does not last very long as a fresh floral but it does not cost a fortune as some perfumes that last less time than this. I get around 3-4 hours then a skin scent (from my first bottle). To me, the color of this was perfect for the scent. It was like an airy sweet ocean blue jasmine/lily perfume perfect for summer. I am 36 and my 13 year old niece likes it and it is on her Christmas wish list so I think all ages can love this one as with any perfume. I don't think an age group should be put on perfumes but some people like to see what ages pick a particular perfume. I am not good a describing notes like the experts but I can say that if you like watery jasmine/white flower, light and fresh, sweet airy perfumes with the color pale blue, then you will like this one. Since it is a crowd pleaser and light, it is not offensive. I just hope it is not reformulated and my bottle was just a bad batch. It smelled strongly of alcohol at first and only a pale version of the first bottle I bought when it came out. Also, what was on my arm and shirt quickly faded in less than an hour. I tested it on a friend and got the same thing to make sure it wasn't me. I just hate when good perfumes get reformulated and they take the original smell and quality from it but keep the price! I also bought the original Aqua di Gioia and it was perfect as always and at a great value with their sale. I have been buying it since it was released and it always performs with very good longevity and projection (4-6hrs for me on skin and clothes). It is "more green" than this ocean version and is a lovely aquatic white flower sweet perfume. Going by my old bottle, you can't go wrong with either of these if you like these notes and type of perfume. I am going to try another bottle and hope for the best.

You got out of the shower, got ready, got dressed. Now you smell like a beautiful mix of your favorite shampoo, shower gel, lotion and hair products. This is that scent. Ocean di Gioia is the perfume that introduced me to a new genre of perfumes that smell like that. If you smelled this on someone, you would not compliment them on their perfume, you would rather think that this is someone that overall just smells really good all the time. And that's what I love about it, it doesn't push to make a statement. I simply don't want to make a statement most of the time, and I find that most fragrances are very ''perfume-like'' in their scent profiles: Bold, different and immediately noticeable. I do have many, many that I love that are signatures, but this was such a breath of fresh air. Also, why did we collectively decide that summer smells like coconut and sunscreen? I hate that. This is definitely what I would want summer to smell like. Now for those wondering exactly what it smells like: White flowers, rose, sea water and fresh fruits. The di Gioia DNA is definitely there, but this is a more floral and ''pink'' version of Acqua di Gioia, imo. Many will argue that it's not worth the price for such a freshie but for me it is, as many cheap freshies have a distinct nose-burning, screechy effect that wears me out most of the time.

If I should describe what the ocean side smells like, it would be this fragrance. Even though my mechanic co-workers called me a M.I.L.F because of the Sandalwood being one of the dominant notes, that doesn't stop me from feeling like Amphitrite (sea goddess). The Sandalwood reminds me of the driftwood you would find that comes and goes with the choppy and big waves. The salt brings that iodized air feeling to the blend, and I feel like accidently swalloing salted water would be less painful if it tasted and smelled just like Ocean Di Gioia haha. Then that sugary water drenched pear is just the must in an oceany/marine fragrance like this one. Then I get the subtle creamy and aquatic white florals such as the water jasmine and the Lily-of-the-Valley, and I don't seem to find the rose :/ The clean and discreet aspect that the musk gives is really soothing once you put your nose on it. It is a perfect summertime fragrance, it is perfect if you go to the ocean or the sea. It is highly feminine and it is more strong than Acqua Di Gioia which I also adore. Acqua is more green-aquatic than marine-aquatic. Definitely a 9.5/10 it is sooooo perfect to my eyes (even more to my nose)

my fave clean, fresh fragrance!🩵🧖🏼 perfect for summertime and the beach, it’s light, breezy & sweet. also perfect after a long everything shower as the last step to your routine🫧 it smells really clean, like you just showered, even if you didn’t. has that soapy quality i defninitely smell that green, flowery freshness in the opening, as well as the musk on the dry-down. i like it infinitely more than it’s acqua mother, so it’s such a shame they discontinued it... armani what is you doing..? i finished my 30ml bottle in like 6 months and just found out abt that when i went to repurchase, so i’m now trying to buy it second hand💀 ocean di gioia has been my everyday work fragrance as an esthetician for a bit now, as i need a clean, pleasant scent that’s not overbearing for my clients. i get lots of compliments on this from my colleagues, as well! however,,, my only note on this frag is that it fades verrryy fast on me i feel :( i can never ovespray this because it sits that lightly on my clothes and skin. over all i give this 4.5 out of 5 stars ⭐️

This is the PERFECT day summer scent! It's just so fresh and clean and smells like a really nice summer at the Bahamas. I feel like that's the best way I can describe this scent! I mean, how can you hate it? I work at the fragrance section in the store I'm in. We had a tester for this exact fragrance, so being curious, I sprayed it, and oh my god.. I mean, who could possibly hate this scent? It's such a beautiful scent, to the point where it's literally head turning! I was so mad at myself for not getting this fragrance any sooner, especially since summer has already ended, but once summer comes back around again, I am for sure going to purchase it! Plus, I had a few compliments from customers about how nice I smell, and I always, always, ALWAYS recommend this scent to anyone who is looking for a clean scent that's kinda similar to Light Blue by D&G.

Sooooo beautiful, got a 50ml bottle the other day and it's quickly become one of my top 5. As someone that owns well over 100 frags now, especially fruity freshies, this one is so gorgeous. I was also worried it was discontinued as I couldn't find the 100ml size anywhere, but after emailing Armani beauty, they assured that it isn't discontinued in the US, but are having supply issues that have led to it being rare currently. The scent lasts about as long as most fresh/citrus scents, about 4 hours or so, projection is quite good, noticeable without being a bomb. Scent itself is so smooth and cool, this feels like the much prettier and sweeter sister to Cool Water. You get some green notes mostly, with some sweet crisp pear, dry down is a light cool musk, the whole experience is very smooth and I couldn't imagine anyone turning their nose up to this.

I discovered this by accident a few years ago. I still have a 30 ml bottle my dad brought back from the US last year, and I'll cherish it forever, only using it on special occasions. It's very shampooey, aquatic, and slightly salty. Very delicate but also fresh. Clean and summery, inoffensive, like a first love. When I wear this, people ask if I just got out of the shower, and I love that. It's not generic like people on here call it. I've tried dozens of "dupes" and haven't found a single one that comes close. The best aquatic fresh floral ever made! I'll miss you, Ocean di Gioia. You'll forever be famous to me. If you're lucky you can still find it on some sites, but the price is way more expensive than before (still worth it because nothing compares to it). Hope Armani brings it back though.

This is really pretty, but yes, kind of generic. I no longer have a sample of Sanctuary’s Vaquita Dolphin to do a direct comparison with, but I can definitely smell why people have voted them as being similar. Based on the name, I expected more salt and aquatic notes, but this is squarely in the fruity floral category. I’m a fan of fruity florals, so I definitely enjoy this, but I would have preferred more salt to give it some complexity. I really don’t get any salt from this at all. The dry down is soft, sweet, and slightly powdery. I don’t normally like powdery scents, but this one doesn’t bother me. As far as designer fragrances go, this is a really good one. I would get an FB of this if I came across it at a discount, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it as it isn’t really unique.

First application, the marine element reminded me too much of Calgon's Turquoise Seas. The marine here isn't a natural, realistic ocean. It's artificial which sadly adds immaturity to this fragrance, but it's grown on me. It's just optimistic, bright, and welcoming. I can see why people are really upset about that marine element being the way it is, and I get it. But this is still di Gioia from the dry down. Just get past that blast of kiddie marine and you'll be rewarded by the di Gioia dry down. Now, it's been some days since I've had this fragrance and it's such an easy summer reach! That di Gioia old money wealth + a twist of summer fun. It is one of the rare fragrances I actually have noticed people stopping to smell me as it's extremely magnetic.

I smell salty water and flowers. A fresh scent, but not as fresh as 'Giorgio Armani Acqua.' Ocean is a warm day at the beach with a salty ocean crashing along the shore and flowers bloom on the seaside cliffs all around you. (while Acqua makes me feel like its a crisp, fresh and windy day overlooking the ocean while drinking a mint lemon tea.) I prefer the opening of Acqua but then I prefer the dry down of Ocean. Ocean is salty, aquatic, warm floral. The bottles are beautiful. I have Giorgio Armani Light, Ocean, Air and Acqua. This is such a luscious aquatic scent! I mostly get pear and water jasmine yet somehow this smells almost identical to L'Imperatrice but more uplifting. With L'imperatrice I almost always get this cooked watermelon vibe. I really want to like that one but it smells like slices of watermelon that have been left out / cooked in the scorching summer heat. It is ALMOST enjoyable to me but doesn't quite win with me. With Ocean di Gioia, it is everything that L'imperatrice wasn't for me. Ocean di Gioia is a transparent feeling aquatic scent that is grounded in the sweetness of pear. Very beautiful. An everyday beauty.

This is beautifully light and reminds me of the smell of fresh, cold water from a running tap, but with added fruit and flowers. It isn’t a strong fragrance but that’s what I wanted as I have a very sensitive nose and I also like to top up occasionally during the day to cool myself down in warm weather. So if, like me, that’s what you’re looking for it’s perfect. It probably won’t be your thing if you want beast mode. I wouldn’t recommend blind buying ever, but it was recommended by Yana from The Scented, and she has very similar tastes to me and I found a good deal on Notino, so I risked it. I’m glad I did.

This perfume is fresh out of the shower scent. It doesn't feel too heavy or cloying but clean and it's an easy love. I usually get nauseous when musk is present, but the musk in here isn't bad and I don't get tired of it. To me, it doesn't give "ocean," It gives freshly clean and shampooed with a pear body wash. The salt note in this gives it a "skin-like" feel, reminiscent of the body's natural scent, and layers very well with the pear to create that "I just smell naturally good" feeling. For a fresher scent, its longevity is really perfect with it lasting about 6-7 hours.

So many notes that I love: pear, lily-of -the valley, citruses, green notes, salt.. I already love Acqua, Terra and Sky, Light is a white floral scent which is not my thing, but it is very pretty anyway. Ocean is definitely my favorite of these all! The perfect freshie. It's not so oceanic but still has the sea vibe in it. There is nothing sharp as in some other aquatic fragrances, notes blend well in harmony. Relaxed yet elegant. Good vibes. Taking this to Parga, Greece with me in August! Only one negative thing: longevity is bad.

My favorite of any perfume on the market right now. Feminine, fresh, with just a tad of fruity sweetness. Feels like the beach without the suntan lotion vibes that a lot of summer fragrances have. I even wear it in the winter because I love it so , although it's definitely a spring/summer fragrance. Longevity could be better is the only negative I can come up with, however it still lasts 4-5 hours on me indoors. Praying it's just a rumor that it's being discontinued, it's still on the Armani website ànd I hope it stays there!

Precious summer scent. I get no citruses or green notes thankfully, only the airy florals and juicy pear. Opens aquatic and blooms into the florals - jasmine, lily of the valley and rose. The pear is strong, and so so sweet overall. I adore this scent and somehow every time it makes me think of ice cream (despite having no creaminess at all), the juicy cold sweetness of it all. Beautiful blend! Also this is somehow gives the same vibes as Springtime in a Park, only this one is more sweet, less crisp and longer lasting.

Absolutely amazing! As some people have already mentioned it's not a super complex scent and the longevity is not something extraordinary. But... If you close your eyes smelling this perfume you will find yourself standing on a beach next to the ocean feeling the sea breeze. A very refreshing, calming and almost ethereal sea breeze. You can almost hear the seabirds and the waves reaching the shore. This perfume has something that makes your mind wandering in beautiful places and that is exactly the reason I love it! 💙

I’d heard a lot of hype about this, tried it at Ulta and liked it enough to get a 3.4 oz unboxed on FragranceNet the same day. When I got it though, my opinion was mixed. It smells kind of like a pool to me? Like, chloriney? Maybe it’s just me. The floral notes come through though and are lovely. It’s pretty good. I have it and will use it but probably not enough for a 3.4 oz. Edit: wearing it tonight and I love it. Still get a little chlorine but the floral notes are gorgeous and it’s a great freshie.

This is one of my new staple fragrances. On my skin it just smells grown and sexy. I prefer this one over Acqua Di Gioia. Even though I have that one as well but this one is better to me. This one is fresh yet very classy to me with a hint of sweetness. I absolutely love the pear and jasmine. The musk is doable for me in this fragrance b/c it's not screechy from my experience. For me it will be a year round fragrance but I can see this being more of a spring and summer fragrance for most.

Somebody gave this as a gift to my sister back in 2017-ish. I knew I had to look again for this scent because of the clean vibe it gives. This is the first perfume that comes to mind when I think of shampoo-like scent. Very perfect for summer. It reminds me of Taylor's 1989, going for a walk on the beach during the sunset. Ofc the fragrance isn't perfect, I don't like the floral opening of this, smells like sampaguita a bit. But oh man, give it 10mins to dry down and it's sooooo good!

This is the safest blind buy if you are looking for a true, sweet and fresh shampoo, just got out of the shower scent! The sweetness of the pear blended together with the salty, ocean notes are just absolutely perfect. It smells like you’ve just had a shower after a long day at the beach. I am blown away by such a simple yet uplifting fragrance that I can wear all year round. If there is one fragrance that you could wear anywhere at any time it would be Ocean. I’m obsessed

This is absolutely GORGEOUS! This was a blind buy based on the notes and it’s definitely going to be my new signature scent for summer. I get juicy pear & citruses and a beautiful Jasmine with a nice clean musky essence. Upon first spritz I can get a touch of the salty note. This is a light, feminine, clean fragrance... a crowd pleaser for sure but worth every cent. Lasting power & silliage is great as well. Thinking I’m definitely gonna need a back up bottle 10/10

Devastated to hear that Ocean di Gioia has been discontinued. I still have a bottle from last summer and plan to stock up before it becomes hard to find. This is my favorite clean, soapy, summer scent. It literally smells like you’ve just stepped out of the shower. It’s super clean with a soft, slightly sweet finish. I’m not sure why it’s called “Ocean,” though; that feels a bit misleading. Acqua di Gioia isn’t a dupe, so I’ll be on the hunt for something similar.

Smells extremely close to Ocean di Gioia like 8.5/10. I think its an absolute beautiful summer at the beach or in Jamaica smell. It is soo perfect. Negative: Doesnt last long, but its cheap enough for you to carry in your purse and continue to reapply. Suggestions: if u have the lotion from Bath and Bodh works Aqua Hour OR Victoria Secret Aqua Kiss. Layer that first. Drown urself in the body spray and lightly spray the Guess Blue! I bought this as a gift for my younger sister - she prefers natural, fruity fragrances that aren't too sweet. This was absolutely perfect, she told me that she wears it to school every day and was still getting compliments at the end of the day! I only wish I had bought two because it smells that good. I don't typically gravitate toward fresh/fruity perfumes but this is brilliant; it smells like a fresh, clean breeze in an orchard by the seaside.

Ocean truly lives up to its name by being absolutely adorable, fresh, easygoing and carefree. Like a soft and calming breeze that makes you relieved and cool and happy during the long and hot summer days. It is feminine, pleasantly floral and gorgeous to wear, simply making it my fragrance of choice in this sunny season. Citrusy notes blend well with florals and creamy, musky base creating a lovely and sparkling spring/summer scent.

This is the only freshie aquatic perfume that works for me. Discontinued. I’m out raged and want to start a riot. Armani you’ve got some splaining to do. We go way back. Purple Armani exchange baby T, code wafting through the Long Island air. . . A few years after the NYC summer black out. Code and now this? For the love of God why?! This is one of the best fresh, aquatic and white floral mix of fragrance on the market. It is A MUST for spring and summer. You know when you open your door at 7 AM on a crisp summers morning and that first air you get- THIS IS THAT. This is a mesmerizing fragrance and I have to get it now. You can even say this is a ’clean girl’ fragrance. Reminds me of Replicas ’When the rain stops’ which I also love very much.

Just bought this blindly from Sephora based on reviews...im in love 🥰 like others have said upon first spray it is reminiscent of L’Imperatrice 3 except with Kiwi instead of watermelon. This is a beautiful fragrance, I keep smelling my wrists like a crazy person! Aghhh! So good! So fresh! I wanna gatekeep this so bad but I can’t lol, I really hope this doesn’t become TikTok trend because I want it to stay hidden!

Very clean aquatic scent!! I find this version better the og acqua di gioia. It smells like you just got fresh out of the shower in summer walking by the side of the ocean. Something for that clean girl vibe! It does last long and there is a silage but not a dominating scent something for the day or the office. There are some great deals on the internet so check out before you buy it from Sephora or what ever!!

One of the few LOTV scents that I actually like. This is a beautiful, easy going, everyday freshly sweet/green musk that doesn’t smell like I’m 12. It’s not revolutionary but it’s such a well done, delicate but elegant clean scent. I already got a backup bottle when I suspected it was getting discontinued. Have no idea if it’s fully disco’d but Sephora Canada stopped carrying it. Grab it while you can.

There is NOTHING like this perfume on the market. I just ordered another bottle. My perfume collection will never be without this scent. Ocean Di Gioia is my favorite out of this line. I wear this all year round, although, it does have a spring/summer feel to it- that doesn't stop me from wearing it fall and/or winter. It's sexy, fresh, sweet, musky, watery, there's just so much to say about it.

Smells super feminine, super summery and aquatic. It's floral meets water, so good for spring and summer. It's defined a freshy. Sprayed it on in sephora and it's still on after 3 hrs, I love it. HOWEVER, if there's a good clone for it, I'd buy it. The clones are doing their thing and the clones I've bought have AWESOME longevity. Perfume develops on everyone's skin differently so good luck lol

This right here is good! This isn’t my scent profile at all, so it’s a surprisingly great frag for someone with my preferences. Perfect for the feel of a spring or summer day of blooming greens and blossoms while sunning at the beach or lakeside... nowhere near the weird struggle of SPJ’s Divine. But that’s what I get for buying a frag because the bottle is gorge.

Some people really do forget that chemistry and pH play a huge part in how a fragrance smells on you. If it smells bad on you that means it does not agree with your chemistry. This smells like a clean, brisk watery fresh dip in a cool tub with jasmine and lilies on a hot summer day. I get the pear, the green notes ,the lillies and the jasmine the most.

My search is finally over, I've been looking for a fresh out of shower, summer breezy, oceanic, aquatic perfume for a long time and I feel fulfilled with this one. This is like Versace Bright Crystal and Davidoff Cool water combined into one, exactly what I was looking for. Can't wait for summer to wear this more!! Love love love this!

I've only ever emptied two bottles of perfume in my whole life, and this is about to be the third. My bottle is near the end and I'm going to repurchase. There really is no better watery, fresh out of the shower dripping wet fragrance out there. It makes you feel so clean and that's the best feeling during hot summer days. Loove it 🤍

Like a splash of sea water over a bouquet of roses, Ocean di Gioia has captivated my attention with its individuality. I've never come across a better sea air fragrance and in all probability I never will. Even the bottle has captured the beauty and simplicity of the sea in its design. The notes of pear keeps it feminine and fruity.

This is my signature scent- it hearkens me back to when I had an apple scented shampoo as a child and it just brings me back to that bubbly freshness. Very youthful, girlish, and fun! I really truly hope they do NOT discontinue this amazing scent- I definitely will be stocking up on this once I break into my second bottle lol.

This smells like the best pear shampoo in the world! If you love cheapies and body sprays like me, think this is bath and body works gingham fresh combined with endless sea! Sadly this perfume has ZERO lasting power or projection! I would love them to make an intense version of Ocean because it’s beautiful!

I am devastated to read that this was discontinued in summer of last year. This lasts all day on me and is one of my favourites. Such a pretty everyday scent for late spring and summer. Am so sad that I didn't know ahead of time to get a backup bottle. Now all the bottles are extremely expensive online.

This is for sure a favorite of mine. For my Freshies & Fruity lovers, THIS IS IT. I get so many compliments when i put this on. With my bath & body Salt Breeze lotion, it last my whole work day. By itself, hmmm maybe 4 hrs. But its worth re-applying. Its perfect for the 70-85 degree weather. BUY IT

This is by far my favorite summer scent! It’s so fresh and clean and smells like getting out of the shower after a long day at the beach. It’s super strong so I can only do at the most two sprays or else it’d be overwhelming. This is actually really good though because it’s lasted me so long!

My nose tends to go for the more gourmand scents. But I am branching out and looking for a fresh summer scent for the summer time. This was a blind buy that I choose after reading reviews here. It’s not an offensive scent and I think this will be the fragrance I will gravitate to this summer.

I LOVE this. Smelled it in person just for fun and immediately knew I wanted to buy it. The scent overall is a fresh one, with a good amount of sweetness. The word I think of when I smell it is "juicy"- the citrus and pear notes make it so yummy and fresh. Perfect spring/summer fragrance.

Pear is what stands out to me the most. I enjoy this note here. It adds a feminine sweetness to an otherwise salty, aquatic composition. Really nice. I imagine these types of scents on natural beauties. The salt evokes a beach babe. I have to make it a note to try Acqua di Gioia as well.

Bought this the other day and I love it. It's the perfect fresh out the shower scent, with that hint of fruity sweetness. I've already received 2 compliments. It's a scent that reminds me a bit of hairspray but in a good way. Love this line of fragrances... want to own them all now!

Beautiful, light and sweet :) The pear adds a delicate sweetness to notes that might be too screechy for my taste usually. It’s inoffensive and a real crowd pleaser. You’ll smell fresh and clean. Lasts 3-4 hours, longevity isn’t the best. More of a daytime / warm weather scent.
