Pivoine Suzhou Soie de Nacre

Just bought this baby after procrastinating about it for months! I like but don't love the opening of this one. It feels a little sharp, spicy and made me want to sneeze on application, which I reckon is because of the pink pepper. However, the scent develops into something I love in about an hour and lasts like that for 6+ hours on me. It smells like watery florals, peonies and roses, in the best possible way according to me. My husband says it reminds him of cucumbers (eye roll) but this could just be his interpretation of the watery element of this fragrance. This sings spring to me and I can't wait to try it out properly. Oh and the nacre version is just so G O R G E O U S!

This was a gift for a significant birthday when it was first released, and unusual in my collection for a notable (non-citrus) fruit opening (raspberry). I have worn it as part of a regular rotation ever since, for days when my standard spicy masculine scents seem too much. I was beginning to feel somewhat sad as the end of the bottle approached. Then, lo and behold, a limited run was made available (at least here in Australia) this past Christmas, and thus harmony has been restored to my fragrance wardrobe! Yay! It is, on my skin, light and refreshing - almost like champagne. Soft, feminine and beautifully blended. A delight.

The latest addition to my collection!! I do not know how this beauty went under my radar but I am so glad to have it now! Such a beautiful, classy and deliciously attractive fragrance! Peony is one of my favorite scents (and flower) so I just had to have this! Beautifully crafted with rose and peony with a slight touch of sweetness and powdery musks. The top notes bring freshness but in the dry down is where the warmth and beautiful amber notes shine! Floral from start to finish, this fragrance is for rose/peony lovers. I am in love 😍✨✨

One of the best peony fragrances out there, it is very well blended, it smells fresh and clean! This is special edition, smells exactly like the regural Pivoine Suzhou, and i got my hands on it for a very good price. It does have a good staying power when sprayed on clothes,and about 8 to 10 hours when sprayed on skin. It is not a sillage monster, more on the soft side. Added Bonus: I layered this perfume with Miss Dior blooming bouqette Body Lotion...Thank me later 😁

I bought this for my wife last Christmas... I loved it at the store and I still love it, even more on her. It's pretty and clean and fresh. The rose and peony are wonderfully blended and supported by a great raspberry note. The musk is subtle, clean, and nicely done. This special edition and the original are perhaps my favorite female scents thus far. If I were a lady this would be my dumb reach fragrance.

Such a gorgeous floral fragrance. In my opinion it's one of the best fragrances by Giorgio Armani for women. I can really smell the raspberry in the opening and it creates such a vibe together with the rosy heart. The dry down is basically heaven- a combination of amber, musk and patchouli is probably the best blend one could think of.

I smelled this yesterday and was blows away. Such a beautiful raspberry rose dream. I have been in a scent journey and narrowing down what notes I love or dislike. I broke down and bought this one. OMG heaven. To me it is a bit like Delina Exclusif but less sweet and more elegant (although Delina Exclusif is beautiful)

Obviously had to have it because of the bottle. The scent is amazing though it doesn‘t last long and radiates within arm‘s length. It is a lovely bright, fresh, fruity floral rose scent, not complex by any means but lovely and inoffensive.

One my favourite Rose Peony combo. It’s fresh floral. Very feminine. Its smells like a very beautiful, soft hearted, kind, delicate girl. I absolutely adore this beauty.

Open is immediately very floral. I got no pink pepper, raspberry or mandarin. It went straight to roses. It's somewhat similarly synthetic to Lancôme's Idôle but this is a lot less artificial smelling than the Idôle. Wait. The raspberry is there in the background. Behind all the roses. 20 mins later the roses are still going strong. The roses here are good. They smell less juvenile than Idôle. If Idôle is for girls aged 11-25, this is for girls aged 20-30. Office wear safe. An hour in the roses are gone. There's still something floral though. Peony? Anyway some of the pink pepper is now detectable. There's something fruity too. I'm guessing that's the mandarin orange but it's faint. This is definitely a feminine frag. After an hour and a half the peony is gone too. Now I'm getting amber and musk. There supposed to be patchouli here but it hasn't shown up yet. If it has its very clean and well behaved. We shall see. 1hr 45 min: skin scent. Patchouli is peeking out here and there. Very grassy but so far quiet. 3 hrs in the patchouli never came. Or if it did it was very clean and well blended. Remaining scent is a juicy floral. It's a nice way to end a woman's frag. Very girly.

I’m not a fan of Rose scents and I can smell the rose in the dry down, but this is light enough for me to enjoy. I love the opening of this scent. It’s fresh and uplifting. The dry down does remind me of a lighter version of "La Rose | Christian Louboutin". I can smell the rose, peony and raspberry, although to me its beautifully blended. Overall I’d give this 9-10/10 for the scent, 4-5/10 for performance. It’s a love anyway. I’m surprised the rating for this isn’t higher. I can only guess this is mostly due to the cost and performance, which to be fair it is pricy for an EDT. I don’t get any weird smell or BO smell in the dry down as some have mentioned. Rose scents in general, such as the Delina’s ("Delina (Eau de Parfum) | Parfums de Marly", "Delina Exclusif | Parfums de Marly" and "Delina La Rosée | Parfums de Marly") can smell utterly disgusting/offensive and nauseating to me. This is a delicate, feminine scent that would be perfect for spring. It does sit close to the skin and I found it lasted around 1-2 hours. I have the shimmer bottle and I’m still over the moon to have this in my collection.

This is a girly, youthful, pretty, sweet, typical fruity floral shampooy, barbie type of scent. Smells exactly like how the bottle looks. After owning it for several months, I didn't reach it at all, except for spraying it a couple of times, wondering if I should keep this. There is nothing negative about this perfume, and I still love pink as most girls do (that was the reason I bought this), but most pink scents don't excite me any more. To be quite honest, I have never heard that peony is the most well known flower in Suzhou, which is very close to my hometown. In fact, this city is most famous for its garden landscaping designs. There are lots of peonies in the place where I grew up. They are mostly planted in parks and gardens (maybe that's where the name came from). I don't remember how real peonies smell like, because they naturally don't have strong scent as far as I can remember, so it's not surprising to see peony is a fantsy note in perfume creations. Nevertheless, Pivonie Suzhou is still a beautiful delicate creation that is widely loved :)

The dry down smells like Gucci II on my skin, anyway. I love Gucci II, which I think is discontinued. I bought mine in duty free and sadly the pump broke halfway. I still have the perfume and sniff it once a while. I wanted to get a new bottle but I can’t find it any where I live. Enter AP Pivoinie Suzhou, I tested it at the store and wasn’t really impressed by it. However I wanted to get it because of that pink metallic liquid. Finally got it today. Wore it the entire day. The dry down is almost identical to Gucci II. It gives me boss lady on the day off vibe. It is not something you’ll wear for a board meeting presentation. It’s something you’ll wear with a nice wrap dress and flats going for brunch. It’s not obnoxious, something you’d wear picking up your child from daycare... because if you smell obnoxious, the children in daycare will tell you hahaha. If you like Gucci II, give this a try.

The packaging represents the scent very well. The scent is more on the powdery and warm side than fresh to me. It fits better in cool weather and in the night. It smells very beautiful but it can become a headache when sprayed too much and especially in a hot weather. Given that the sillage and projection is not too strong, it’s perfect.

peony smells so green and vegetal on my skin, it breaks my heart... within my experience this is a very subtle scent, slightly powdery, sweet floral, if you really go on the hunt you can smell the raspberry, dare i say... elevated floral body mist ! very faint and sits close to skin, i promise to you it’s the glitter and the bottle

This is such a gorgeous floral scent! The peony and rose are definitely the stars here, and they blend together beautifully. I get a nice touch of raspberry in the opening, which adds a bit of sweetness. It's not overly overpowering, making it perfect for everyday wear.

This is a really pretty sparkly perfume. The bottle originally sold me but I’ve come to love the perfume itself. It’s a really bright juicy raspberry floral. It does dry down to be kinda cheap smelling though..... but my lord the bottle 😍

I am die-hard fan of Gucci parfum II (pls refer to my review on my profile) ~ then I read somewhere that Pivoine Suzhou Nacre is somewhat similar to the Gucci Parfum II. I was triggered, coz Gucci Parfum II is my signature scent, and it's discontinued forever, therefore I bought Pivoine Suzhou last week. oh my. I am disappointed. This perfume is lovely, but it has no sillage watsoever, lasting power of plus minus around an hour? It's not offensive at all, however to wear this perfume for crowd mingling and expecting it to 'shine', OR expecting people to STOP ME AND ASK what perfume im wearing? MEH. NOPE. coz i cant even smell it on myself after an hour!! nothing unique about the scent, but the bottle & juice are pretty but im not paying for the bottle though. and...to say Pivoine Suzhou resembles Gucci Parfum II is quite an overstatement. i might give this Pivoine Suzhou to my sisters or cousins as a present but not for myself. Thus, Im still looking for Gucci Parfum II scent-alike , hopefully one day I'll find it.

I bought this one back in September of last year just before my birthday and I got rid of it two months later. I think I only may have gotten it because of how beautiful the pink pearly nacre bottle was and how beautiful the sparkly pink nacre liquid inside was too. I ended up getting rid of it two months later. Peony and I just do not mix! It's a note I've come to really hate. I also don't like the fruity, citrusy and spicy notes in this. The peppery note made me sneeze after a while and the citrusy fruity notes smelt sour and like fruit juice on my skin. Certainly not like a perfume. I don't want to smell like something you can eat! The sillage is average and so is the length of time it lasts on one's skin. It comes in a big bottle, but it's fairly overpriced for what it is. It's also fairly feminine, but it certainly isn't a perfume that's completely for women. A confident man could wear this too, hence why I probably don't like it for myself. 5/10
