Pivoine Suzhou

this is unbelievably beautiful. it's so so gentle, elegant and light. it's such a dewy fragrance without ever feeling wet, it feels like the most welcome mist of rain on a warm spring day. i held off from sampling this for a long time because i usually can't stand patchouli but i can't even detect it here. on a technical level i can smell how this is similar to lust in paradise, issey miyake pivoine, my burberry blush. but they aren't similar in feeling to me at all, i don't like any of those scents. this is just the classiest, most understatedly gorgeous peony scent. undeniably peony too, not rose to me. the raspberry is there but it's not juicy, not sour or tart. jjust a touch of sweetness to compliment the florals. there's a note in here similar to Lancome's Hypnose of all things, it's that powdery candy-like sweetness. i think it's the passion flower in Hypnose, but to me it smells like sugar, but if it was pink. i feel like i'm walking through a botanical garden with flowing water. this is so serene. i want my life to be as peaceful as this perfume smells! obviously this is very expensive for a very fleeting scent. and unless you're a huge floral lover and extremely picky about your peony notes (read: me), this probably isn't worth the money. this is an EDT and a weak one at that. i usually don't mind low longevity but you're not gonna get more than a few hours out of this, and you'll have to spray a bit more than you normally would to get a decent projection. as pretty as the soie de nacre bottle is, i think i'll stick to my 10ml decant for now. if i finish it, then who knows!

This is my first review. A freind of ours dropped by and brought some beautiful pink and dark red peonies . These were from her backyard originally planted by a garden enthusiast, unlike the commercialized peonies, they were beautiful and fragrant. I placed them in a vase on the table, the entire house was filled with the beautiful and sweet aroma of peonies. As I smell them, I tried to link the fragrance with the peony perfumes I am familiar with, I realized pivoine Suzhou was the one captured the most of the delicate spirit of a blooming peony, you can almost visualize the aroma rising from the delicate petals into the air, leaving a trail of sweetness. Although I still don't get the connection between suzhou (a city next to shanghai in the southeast) and peonies, these flowers are typically growing in central part of China. Suzhou is more renown for its Chinese gardens. There are fragrances screaming peonies, i.e., the newest Peonia Nobile Edizione Speciale by Acqua di Parma and Jo Malone peony and suede. If you love the flowers for its delicate nature, this is the perfect perfume.

I was so excited that one of my favourite perfume lines has launched a fragrance that named after my home town - Suzhou. The official launch is much later in Australia than some of the other major cities but I am fortunate enough to get hold of it on the first day of its arrival in Adelaide. The first smell gave me the impression that it has well captured the essence of my home town - which is a place that is famous for her delicate nature and beautiful women. Legend says that the whisper of a woman from Suzhou will melt your soul. That's what the fragrance has reminded me of as well. The opening is fresh and sweet. After it has settled on my skin I really started to enjoy the softness and femininity of the floral notes. Peony or not, it really does not matter to me. Right now after about half an hour and warmth of amber and musk became more dominant, but not overpowering. Overall a very beautiful and feminine fragrance!

Sometimes, you don't want to think too hard about how your perfume choice for the day will go over with the people you'll be around, but you also want to smell like pure class and show off your great taste in fragrance juuuust a bit. Pivoine Suzhou, baby. Juicy, watery, sweet mandarin and raspberry. Delicate but pronounced peony. Dewy, bright, fresh rose. Just a touch synthetic, but this is as close to "secret garden" you can get without going into niche photorealistic green territory. Just gorgeous, perfect for every day wear and easily signature scent worthy. Groundbreaking? No. Boring? Also no. Boring fragrances don't make statements, but this pretty thing certainly makes a statement—just at an acceptable volume for polite company. Office? Brunch? Luxurious vacation? Yes, yes, and yes. If a silk, relaxed fit, chiffon pink blouse had a scent, this is it for me. Effortlessly beautiful. (Also, man tested and approved!)

Blows my mind how anyone couldn't like this. It's the perfect departure from the average ladies' perfume smell. Just the right amount of everything floral, the amount of strength as it doesn't overpower, lasting power, and freshness. In a word: class. Suitable for every occasion. Bought this for my girlfriend who's somewhat reserved and doesn't want to be talked about for the way she smells. She's finishing up college to become a teacher, and I figured this would be a great scent for the kids and parents to remember her by! Got a great deal on a tester on eBay. Honestly, the $90 I paid was an absolute steal; it's worth its full price at currently $175. 10/10 masterpiece scent for a lady, 8.5/10 longevity, 10/10 sillage–it's there but not too strong and not announcing itself before you see the lady.

My husband loves light, sweet, slightly floral fragrances on me so he brought this as a gift. While some may say its too simple, I feel it is quite lovely. On my skin, it is a beautiful slightly jammy rose with nectar and a light musk rounding it out. Very beautiful. Very feminine. I can see myself absolutely loving this in the warmer months especially. I have many scents that are more complex but my husband doesn't quite "love" those- but he adores this on me, and shows me as such :) It has replaced his long standing previous favorite of Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey on me... I must say I do prefer the Armani overall... simply beautiful! Longevity and Silage are moderate, but I am telling you, its so refreshing- I don't mind at all. Lasts longer than the Jo Malone...

Wonderful addicting fresh and feminine scent. It's not groundbreaking and easily a safe blind buy- but it's very very well blended and gorgeous. You will definitely receive many compliments. It's such a delicate skin scent, signature worthy. It works on any age. I'd say that if you love Chloe and Delina, try this, you will love this even more. It isn't niche or strange like most hit or miss fragrances these days. It's just a delicate sensual scent that will make you obsessed and want to spray it on everything! From the same family as Delina. Not warm or overly sweet, it's just like smelling the most gorgeous bouquet of summer flowers and fresh raspberries (not synthetic). Rating: 10/10, and the SILLAGE is wow!! Worth it.

My new favorite evening fragrance. It opens with warm raspberry scent and stays quite linear on the skin which I tend to prefer. It stays on the way it sprays on :) If you prefer florals, this may not be for you. Though it contains peony, I don't smell it in the least. It's a sophisticated, elegant gourmand. All through my 20s I wore Viva La Juicy and now, at 35, finally found my night time fragrance as a grown woman :) PS - Men love it, should you care about that sort of thing. It's feminine, comforting and draws the right type of attention. PPS - I like that this fragrance only has slightly above 100 reviews (at the time Im writing this). I prefer not to smell like every other girl.

Just ordered a 10ml travel spray at a great price. Really excited to try this! UPDATE/EDIT: Soooooo I absolutely adore this! Definitely full bottle worthy for me. I went and bought the last 10ml travel spray that the eBay seller had available cause I can’t afford a FB right now. It’s fresh, yet sweet, like candied jammy roses but not at all heavy or powdery. My eyes widen with delight every time I spray this and smelling it never fails to bring a smile to my face. This is easily one of my top 10 rose fragrances! I think it’s easy to wear too and I’ve gotten several compliments wearing this at work as well so I think it’s office friendly too!

This is lovely perfume. It so so feminine, clean, floral opening after it settled down it smell so delightful. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist .clean expensive Musky floral and crisps of citrus & soapy notes. Every-day morning office clean expensive comfortable scent. Performance of it is so good drydown like expensive shampoo smell like you just out of your shower which make it so good for hot summer days. Also great for bed time I tried from same line malachite rouge was so sharp to Mr and rose Arabia was amazing so masculine but this one is so interesting. Longetivity and sillage are so good I need a big bottle of this one. I love it

Imagine a sun-drenched summer afternoon, where wild raspberries hang heavy on the vine, their sweetness bursting with every touch. Juicy oranges, kissed by golden light, add a bright, citrusy sparkle. Beneath it all, delicate roses and peonies bloom, their petals still damp with morning dew, weaving a soft, floral elegance into the air. A whisper of pepper adds a playful zing with just a slight hint of musk. Gorgeous spring scent, wish this was a parfum instead of toilette. Everything about this fragrance is amazing except the longevity. If anyone has recommendation of parfum that have a similar scent profile please let me know.

This is a lovely peony/rose scent with some pepper and musk notes. I Think it is happy and fresh, but also sophisticated. It is a typical day time fragrance for me, all year round, but maybe more of a spring and summer scent. The pepper note makes it a bit more unique than other similar scents I have tried. Is it worth the hefty price tag? Well for me it is, but to be honest it is not as long lasting as the other scents I own from the Armani Privé line. 2-3h maximum on my skin. The sillage is also moderate. Because of this it might not be worth the price, but then again it is a lovely scent if you are into this type of florals.

After 5 months of wearing complex & deep unisex fragrances during the cold weather, I find myself craving for a light, airy spring/summer scent. Pivoine Suzhou is exactly what I am looking for: its feminine without being overly sweet, its youthful but not juvenile, and it is a touch fruity but still very classy. It is inoffensive, intimate, and has a romantic quality to it. Yes, the performance and longevity isn't the best, but after those months of heavy perfumes, I don't mind its subtle, shy sillage. This would be a good signature scent for spring & summer because it is so versatile, from office scent to date night scent.

A couple of years ago I got a sample and thought nothing of it - very boring fresh floral rose - and gave the sample away. Days later I found myself longing for that fresh sweet cosy scent (it was early springtime so maybe that made all the difference), and so I bought a full sized bottle - no regrets! I can see why many would dismiss this initially; it feels too fresh, too floral and fleeting, but it is not! It develops and stays on clothes long after the day is done, and the scent, while at first might seem generic, is unexpectedly complex and intoxicating in a light and sexy way. 10/10 one of my favourites.

First impression - very pink and a little sharp. It is a sweet perfume, but as such it still has depth and layers. First comes the sweetness - likely the raspberry note, then the pink pepper and only then the floral notes appear. Pepper gives it a zing of freshness/sharpness which makes it more interesting than your average sweet pink flower perfume. As for the peony note - on my skin it gets overpowered by raspberry in the beginning, but in the drydown the peony becomes more prominent. All in all a nice and interesting perfume, feels well blended and projects very beautifully on my skin.

Everytime I wear this out girls will always ask me what I'm wearing. It smells delightful! It's peony and raspberry forward. If you can't smell the top notes you may have gotten a dud because this is an EDT and the main components of this fragrance are those juicy top notes. This does have a slight citrus quality to it to make it like fresh peony bathwater but it's from Mandarin so it maintains a juicy quality! My new everyday scent I use all the time! The entire Armani Privee line needs more appreciation because they're so well made and in my opinion well priced!

this is the best rose perfume i own. Feminine , delicate and classy. Unfortunatelly it doesnt last on my skin more than 30' and on my clothes maybe 2h . As a scent 10/10 if you are a rose fan! fall and spring perfume . Spring -> you will smell the peony and the may rose with the musk more intensly Fall -> you will smell the Bulgarian rose (i know it has it in cause i dont like it very much) & the pachouli more! i prefer using it on Spring. Summer, the delicate nature of the fragrance is completly destroyed and you barely smell anything , same in Winter

Every once and a while a perfume will stun me. This is the one. It took me a while to realize it is a woman's perfume, as well as the reviews online. I just loved the way it smelled under the bottle cap so I sprayed it a few times on myself in Nordstrom. A sales associate popped her head out from around the corner and offered to make me a sample. My mom later on said she wanted what I was wearing so I gave her the sample hahaha. She adores it very much. Now I know what to get her as a gift in the future.

I was surprised to read the tepid reviews on this one. I think it might be one of the loveliest fragrances I've ever smelled. It's a fruity-floral but much more dignified than the sweet overblown fruity-florals that seem to be everywhere. On me it smells like juicy nectarine, rose, peony, amber, and faintly, pink pepper. Really fresh, warm, uplifting. I'm not finding it weak as another commenter noted. On me it's still going strong 5 hours after application.

Pivoine Suzhou by Giorgio Armani is fresh pink pepper peony, beautifully floral with a soft spice to keep things from becoming too astringent. Playful fruity notes of raspberry and a tincture of mandarin orange that all simmers down to a subtle clean rosey musk. To me this is pure class, well educated, professionally dressed, and head of the office. Simple yet sophisticated, very feminine with a good head on her shoulders scent!

this is so expensive in SG. it reminds me of my childhood diary with scented paper. exactly like this! it's very very soft and feminine. and very linear as well. perfect for those with religious obligation where you dont want to let others smell you when u walk past. it does feel expensive imo. this i'd say a quiet luxury where IYKYK kinda thing. i've never found anything similar to this in the mass market.

Sparkling and zesty, dewy. fruity. Amazing scent, smells elegant and elevated, classy. Projection is very good, it sits high up around me, making me feel like I live in a beautiful white villa with beautiful gardens and dalmatians and some fancy car. Smells (as is) expensive. As with all this line it somehow evokes meditative response from me, which is a good things in my book when it comes to perfumery.

A slightly more sophisticated take on the archetypal fruity floral. Beautiful peony and rose laced with raspberry and Mandarin orange. Some might find it too simplistic to be part of the Privè line. Longevity is moderate. I do need to overspray. It lingers for about 4hrs on my skin. Just an easy wearing daytime scent, not exceedingly sweet and that makes it good for warm days.

Most complementary scent, everytime I wear it everyone ask me about it, yes it's not long lasting, but I spray a little bit more then usually, when it's dry down on skin it leave a really good smell, naturally and not synthetic as in most floral/sweet perfume. I'm a big fun of floral scents so I had a lot experience, you can be sure this one is very unique recommend 👌

Beware: complements included. It seems the flowers and fruit are such an easy choice. In this case, on the skin it is a sparkling Rose de Mai that made it stunning! The true fresh flowers so natural in full bloom. Later peony appears and stays present till the end. The outstanding quality makes the difference. Hence the Armani scent never is banal or boring.

Well-balanced soft and elegant perfume. I like that this is a delicate perfume that, on stressful days, makes you feel both calm and confident in yourself. I bought it blind via eBay and did not regret it. I wish it lasted even longer than 9 to 10 hours at least on me. I hope this line will remain on the market so that I can easily buy it again and again.

3rd party review since I bought this for my wife (the seasonal special release version with shimmer in it). My favorite fragrance on her. This is a soft and feminine scent to me. The pink pepper, florals, and fruit notes are very well blended. Sure, its not groundbreaking or beast mode, but it smells great. This is gentle mood therapy in a bottle.

I have been on a scent journey trying perfumes often and looking them up on fragrancia to see what notes I like etc. Tonight I tried Pivoine Sizhou and was bowled over. I love it. It is such a beautiful feminin fragrance of roses, citrus and raspberry with a hint of pepper. It is beautiful. It is close to Delina Exclusif without being so sweet. ❤️

Opening of this is fruity floral and a couple of hours later it turns to floral musky. The lasting power of this on my skin is around a couple of hours. It’s a light everyday spring and summer scent that isn’t too complicated. Is it a little generic? Yes but sometimes that’s fine. To me it kind of reminds me of Dior’s eau fraiche but sweeter.

Lovely fresh peony. I'm not particularly fond of the opening with raspberry and orange, which has a brief sharpness. But as it dries down, the peony becomes pretty and elegantly blends with the musk, though it's incredibly faint! I find myself almost gasping to catch a hint of it. Given the price point, it's a no for me. It's just too light.

Its not groundbreaking but it is a beautiful, easy fragrance to wear. The smell is a gorgeous rose floral that doesn't have the headachey overtones of similar cheaper perfumes. To me this smells like Daisy Eau so fresh but rosier and softer, it is well rounded and warm. A firm favourite for everyday, I just wish it lasted longer!

Tried this today. And I absolutely love it! I am usually not a fan of peony, but this one is very nice. Not overpowering, nor powdery, and with that sweet juiciness from the raspberry. I love it! It stays quite linear on the skin, but that's fine. I actually don't mind because it's good throughout. An easy love from me.

I stumbled across this sample and didn't expect anything. It's AMAZING. For me it doesn't smell cheap, but like a luxurious paradise. Really suits hot summer weather. I can't stop sniffing my arm. On my it dries down to the top notes raspberry, pink pepper and mandarin - what a lovely combination! <3

Such a pleasant, pretty-girl scent! The rose is the standout note to my nose, complemented by a hint of red pepper and a touch of raspberry that adds gentle sweetness and ties everything together beautifully. Some might call it basic, but I think it’s wonderfully blended and effortlessly elegant.

Really pretty, definietly girly peony/raspberry scent. Way better than any other rose fragrance I smelled before, it is masterfully crafted. It reminds me of soft pink petals and happiness. I wore it in a holiday to Firenze and it fit the city so well ♥️ romantic and old-soul like.

Bright and happy, elegant and feminine. A very pleasant scent that many consider to be crowd-pleasing. To me that's a huge plus in a sea of perfumes today trying so desperately to smell different, yet ending up smelling strange and weird instead. Someone is very happy today.

Fresh peony bomb. Very floral and fresh - likely from pink pepper and peony lasting on my skin for a long time. I’ll put this on at 7 am in the morning and will still be able to smell it on me at 8pm, so very long lasting. Does get a bit closer to the skin as time goes on.

Such a beautiful sent. It’s one that will easily put you in a brighter mood. So uplifting, light and effortlessly pretty. I loved it from first sniff and recently purchased a full bottle (I didn’t want this to get discontinued on me!) lasts fairly well for an EDT.

A little on the feminine side, but that doesn't stop me from wearing this gem. Easy 10/10, one in a million for rose-based perfumes; perfect mix of rose, raspberry and a little peppery zest to even things out. Big time winner!

Such a beautiful scent but barely detectable on skin. I sprayed 10 pumps and couldn't smell it. Compared it to my weakest perfume and still this is weaker. So sad considering it's a beautiful composition and at that price :/

Why, why, why create such a beautiful fragrance and then make it so weak!? Body mists outperforms this. I love it but I will not repurchase.
