Rose Alexandrie

My signature scent. One day i was walking down the store, in a mood to try some exclusive fragrances. I tried the private collection of Tom Ford, Maison Dior, even Givenchy private collection. And then I came across the counter of the Armani Prive collection. I immediately saw the name Rose Alexandrie which stood out to me (being originally Egyptian, but from Cairo). So I smelled it... This was love at first sniff! I smelled a lovely citrusy rose. Absolutely beautiful. Very elegant and classic. The only downside is the sillage and longevity. I bought this for nearly 150 euros and I have already used up 4 bottles. But the sillage is poor: you can smell it for 5 minutes and then it is not very noticeable to others unless you come close to that person. After an hour or 3 it is almost completely faded. Nevertheless, this fragrance is still absolutely the most beautiful scent I have ever smelled. The scent itself is worth 150 euros for sure! And I will keep repurchasing this again and again. If they would only reformulate this to make the performance better... Then I would never in my life buy any other perfumes again. I will wear this day and night, every day, every time of the year. I cannot describe how much I love this perfume! Everyone should go smell it!!

I purchased my bottle in the middle of hot summer and wasn’t impressed, it reminded me of something vintage neroli like scent so I put it aside and listed to sell. Today I sold it and smelled right before I packed it and was a bit regretful if selling it. The beautiful honeyed neroli and light soft rose. I can really smell honey in here and I wonder if it might be the effect mimosa doing here. It’s beautiful and classy scent. If you ever tried Fleur Narcotique by Ex Nihilo, this is almost better to me and much less talked about. Anyways it’s absolutely beautiful and I kind of feel horrible and regretful for selling it now. Lesson learned out of this, is give the fragrance to rest after receiving it, let it cool and adjust in room temperature, try in different seasons. This one sounds absolutely gorgeous for transitioning from summer to fall. The sillage is where this fragrance whole beauty at.

I love Rose D'Arabie and thought this would be a more suitable choice for office / daywear. It is a very soft, fruity easy to wear rose - slightly sweet on opening but this quickly fades. Each note is easily identifiable - neroli appears first in a burst of bergamot and tangerine (I detect lemon also?) - the mimosa then appears followed by soft rose. The notes complement each other well & the quality of the ingredients are apparent. The only issue I have is the longevity - after a few hrs I can barely detect it. It wouldn't be an issue if the cost reflected this but for such an expensive scent I would expect better.

i am not one for rose scents at all. i didnt even want to smell this one. but the lady at the giorgio armani had me sniff this one. and WOW! This is trully beautiful. This scent represents a very put together woman. Yet any woman could wear this. It is somewhat transparent, but not in strength or silliage. it had a "shiny flower" quality that i love. if you ever get around to getting the privelege of sniffing this, please do and write a review! i am not very great at reviewing scents, so i would like to read someone's review that can describe this scent's beauty...

Rose Alexandrie by Giorgio Armani is a bright citrusy rose! I got this in a swap and I’m not a big fan of mimosa so I was not sure I how I would like it, but fortunately neroli wins out here! Neroli is a bitter slightly green orange scent that is sweetened up by a juicy mandarin orange note in this fragrance. Zesty bergamot keeping things bubbly and fresh with the mimosa complimenting the rose making it sweeter and less floral. A lovely sweet spring/summer fragrance for women!

I am a little biased when it comes to Rose Alexandrie. It doesn't last long and it is not as complex as the other Prive perfumes, BUT, it is perhaps the most special one for me. I I wear this to bed every night- it soothes my mind. It is also a great fragrance to layer with other more intense perfumes to take off the edge. I have layered this with Mancera's Roses Vanille and it adds a new dimension to an otherwise 'sweet' perfume.

Delicate, elegant, gentle and independent. Like a tiny diamond necklace. Fresh, a bit citrus with a trace of rose flower. The original perfume lasts very long, untill you take the shower and wash your hair very good^^ One of my favourite perfumes. People notice the luxury of the smell and ask about it. And when I occasionally wear jeans and men-like сlassic shirts and this perfume... People are getting really confused^^

Rose Alexandrie was a pleasant surprise. It's fresh at the same time warm and inviting. It has a projection out if this world. I got compliments on this as well. It will lift your mood and demand respect from those you are around. 8 out of 10 rating. Very good Frangrance. Not for the young at heart. Got to have confidence to pull this off. I do and I love it!!!

Rating - Amusement This is very lush, slightly metallic floral scent. It's very full bodied yet airy too. I can easily say that it smells like better Lady Million. I would prefer this one to LM. Staying power is pretty well, the price isn't. It's very expensive -.- It's very likeable and fun, but not too original.

it's very subtle to me, yet i get compliments from people a couple feet away from me ??? i enjoy this fragrance a lot, it's elegant, like a crisp glass of white wine. i love neroli, it's one of my favorite notes! rose alexandrie is very neroli forward, it's beautiful!

This is my signature scent! Rose Alexandrie is the perfect blend of fresh and floral. The citrus notes brighten up the rose beautifully, making it feel modern and not at all overpowering. I get compliments on this perfume constantly.

I'm usually a gourmand lover. I love fragrances with vanilla...but I also love rose done right. And this is rose done right, there is a juicy quality about this fragrance that I love.

I love this fragrance! This is dominantly rose from the opening into the drydown. I also pick up a mimosa scent! Everybody should go smell it!

Love this fragrance but always wear with a stronger parfum as an enhancer. My favorite fragrance to pair with is Rose d'Arabie.

Rose d'Alexandrie is a bright, fresh citrus-rose scent, elegant if unexciting. It is clean and soapy, pleasant throughout, never harsh and nicely-balanced, but linear overall. RA opens with Earl Grey-like bergamot, tart and fresh, followed closely by sheer, dewy rose. Clean neroli is a logical development of the citrus of the opening, becoming quite prominent as this scent develops, complementing the rose nicely. Mimosa adds some powdery sweetness to the background, but is barely detectable. It becomes a musky citrus-rose skin scent after a little while. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is soapy without being aldehydic - reminiscent of fancy rose-scented bars of soap. Fresh, pleasant and good-quality, RA is an inoffensive spring/summer feminine scent that is decent yet entirely unmemorable. 3/5.

This is one of my favourite summer / hot weather perfumes. I love how fresh and airy it is, yet still slightly sweet and sophisticated. Its a very beautiful scent. Its soft and florally. To me it smells like sweet rose with other soft white florals combined. Hint of freshness but not at all too citrussy in my opinion. I think it is very girly and classy. One downside is that it doesn't stay very long as it is a very soft fragrance, which is a shame since it is an expensive perfume... However I do still get whiffs of it throughout the day and compliments from people. It is not a complex perfume, very simple and wearable at all times. Overal love the scent and so easy to wear ! It reminds me of all my summer memories.

A lot of reviewers are stating there’s no rose here — I’m thinking that’s people who are used to wearing rose. I, who have a really hard time with rose and avoid it, clearly sense it in Rose Alexandrie. It’s the only rose scent that I own and like, likely because it’s so subtle. Fresh, citrusy and light, but still exclusive. Most importantly, not sweet. A great compliment to heavier scents in my collection. Also, not bad when layered with leather frags.

I really wanted this to be more powerful. I believe it’s neroli that can make this a little bit boring for some people, but I enjoy that note. This note is most prominent. The protection is minimal, and it lasts about 3 to 4 hours. I tend to layer her now when I wear Dior Ambre Nuit. That rose on rose amplification with the mimosa helps add water and lightness to the dryer fragrance and allows me to wear Ambre Nuit in the Spring and the cooler months.

Beautiful! The opening is a warm, sweet floral with a juicy quality to it. The juiciness dies down and the rose and Mimose become a lovely very close to the skin fragrance. Unfortunately this doesn't last very long on me and has a very low sillage. A quiet, demure, but joyful fragrance. The Prive collection is available at Neiman Marcus downtown Chicago. (The rep was so helpful, knowledgeable, and generous!)

Non sono un'amante della rosa, né dei fioriti in generale, forse l'unico che mi ha colpito é stato Diorissimo con la freschezza del mughetto e un sillage estremamente elegante e sottile, usato anche per anni da mia mamma. Ma questo di Armani Privé é trasparente, fresco, come una pioggia di rugiada al mattino presto. Pur essendo molto persistente.

This is a beautiful, crisp fragrance with a nice citrus opening and an amazing rose scent. I wish it would last longer on my skin but I wear it anyway. It is a fresh scent that doesn't induce headaches which most of floral perfumes do..It has quickly earned a spot on my favorites shelf, I think it will be perfect for warmer weather.

This smells beautiful and exactly like it does inside a flower shop. I wouldn't say this is a straight rose though, more like a mix of several flowers. The longevity isn't all that great and I wonder if the fragrance is special enough to justify the price tag.

Sorry but this is not rose! This must be fleur d'orange (orange flower) or something else. Nice, beautiful creation but now worth for price tag!

What happened? I was such a big fan of the Armani Prive collection for the fragrances longevity. I tested the fragrance, but apparently, not long enough before I purchased it. It lasts about 5 minutes and it's very light and watery. I spent all that money (shame on me) for a fragrance I don't like and probably won't wear very often. Very sad!

Where is the rose? This is Neroli dominant from the opening into the drydown. I also pick up a fizzy orange crush soda pop scent. A reviewer below mentioned grape juice and I get it. There’s something synthetic backing it all up. Sub par performance is a good thing because Rose Alexandria fades away before the need to wash it off.

Its kind smell of rose coming out of...something I know.. please dont laugh...but it reminds me Radiant Britney Spears. It's better blended but it has some....nature of it. Way too expensive ...this whole collection is too expensive.

I can smell citrus, neroli, mimosa. Rose is more prominent in the opening then fades so quickly. Rose is the note I can detect least at the dry down stage, which were dominated by citrus and neroli. This perfume is too weak for me.

Light rose in typical Armani style. Nothing special.

Rose Alexandrie is very low on fixatives, and not particularly concentrated, so wears quite differently in dry areas like the wrist vs moist areas like the inner arm. It is almost impossible to appreciate this scent unless the body or the climate is humid. The primarily Bergamot citrus top morphs into a tart tangerine after a few minutes. Shortly after, the fragrance enters Candyland for a bit, as the tangerine and rose briefly merge. I love the idea of rose and mimosa, but here the mimosa does not feel round and full as an absolute should. Good quality Mimosa reminds me of the Rousanne grape- full, slightly waxy, voluptuous, but dry. Here it is stingily used. As for the supposed star of the show, instead of being the anchor note, the Rose is abysmally shy- so much that I feel the scent has been ill-named. The moderately pleasant drydown is a waxy fresh combination of the Mimosa and the enduring Bergamot. All in all, this is a very simple scent, not terribly artistic, interesting, or high quality.

I really like this light, citrusy rose. I am just exploring rose fragrances and my taste tends to run toward the spicy and resinous (Lyric & Epic) and this one is not like that. It is more sweet than spice and it is just so light and pretty! Luca Turin calls it "appropriate anywhere that fire-engine red lipstick is" in Perfumes: The Guide (paperback edition p. 475)I find it more diverse than that, but I think red lipstick is generally appropriate in any situation - just depends on the colour and the application. This is one I can happily wear to work on a warm day because of the sunny, light citrus notes, for a ladies lunch, or for a date because it is also very sexy though not overwhelming at all. It doesn't have all the aldehydes of other rose fragrances that overpower me then give me a headache (like Joy) It is more sweet than spicy and it is easy to wear - not a strong rose that wears you if you are not careful (like FM Une Rose). I highly recommend it.

Rose Alexandrie is a bit of a misnomer. Strangely for a perfume with “rose” in the name orange blossom takes over. It’s very pretty, soft, and sweet with notes of sugared rose with the orange blossom. This perfume gets slightly soapy at times and it’s very soft, which unfortunately brings up associations in my mind to Amazing Grace by Philosophy. Amazing Grace is a synthetic sweet soapy skin scent. It’s a “not perfume” perfume. While Rose Alexandrie is not synthetic smelling, it’s as soft if not softer and even if better smelling still too similar. I find the suggestion of 260 USD for this fragrance ludicrous. Unoriginality is an apparent theme with the Privé line so far, if the four fragrances I was able to try is enough to constitute a noticeable trend.

I remember liking this before somewhere and not buying it, years ago, sniffing another bottle, it was a round one, with purple cap, that smelt a bit like soft jasmine with some woody twist, less rosy, if at all, but very much the same airy sweetness about it ... somehow Pivione Suzhou has a pinch of this in the background too ... I'm sure it was Jaipur Bracelet Boucheron (the bottle I didn't buy), but I'm glad I own few minies and I'm going to take them out and enjoy wearing it now as a tribute to my encounter with Rose Alexandria and ... unfortunately... not buy a bottle of it, , either ...sigh ...

this was a blind purchase, i selected it because of 'rose' in the name and because it's 'Prive' so it must be something special. so disappointing. at first whiff, it smells like a rosy-citrusy house cleaning product. then it turns into sweet candy like fragrance and house cleaner vibe still remains. quite vile actually. not my type at all. very light, breezy sweet candy like citrus floral, summer fragrance, maybe too sweet for summer, maybe cloying. very girly, made for teenagers maybe but too pricey for one.

Armani Prive Rose Alexandrie is the best perfume, of all I know for the moment.This perfume belong to chypre group, that means is it long last and opens layers every hour, as if it is open new and new doors.The rose note is so sophysticated, so I would imagine very classy lady possesing this perfume. That lady is going for date and wearing this misterious and very romantic perfume.All men turn their heads towards to her.And she just goes to the only loved one.

Best rose fragrance I've ever tried. EDIT: I bought a backup bottle, but quickly realized it was from an older batch. The color of the juicy is yellow instead of pink, and the scent is quite different. I prefer the new one, but the old one is much stronger and longer lasting.

Although I do not believe in genders when it comes to perfume, I rated this one more female - based on the mainstream idea of perfumes. I particularly love this one and wear it. If you are into orange blossom with a bit of rose and citrus type of scent go for it!

Rose, bergamot, and orange blossom (a very Grape Crush one). Simple (like many of the Prives), but well made. This type of rose accord might be familiar from No. 88, Iquitos, and Ungaro Diva, but it's much more demure than any of them.

An exciting transparent neo-classic rose chypre, which has a brilliant, candied, slightly metallic, tuberose-rose with a resinous green background and a floral midway with a powerful ambery-mossy bit, that drydown ends fresh musk.

simple indeed but undeniably elegant Have made this my easiest "everyday" scent (work, errands, any time I can't decide what else to wear!) Unfortunately does not last very long at all even though I spray it unbelievably liberally

Simple, linear. Bergamot and roses with a soapy musk base. It reminds me of some old fashioned expensive soaps in a fancy old house. It is pleasant, it is clean and feminine. Overpriced for what it is. A sample is enough for me.

Rose Alexandrie smells like mold and rotten fruit... It doesn't smell like roses at all. I don't know who voted for roses as a noticeable note. It reminds me of Beach Walk by Replica, which I hate.

I really love this perfume and bought it for Spring Summer as I find it refreshing but still very classy....until my son commented that I smelled of grape jiuce! Not so classy after all...

I smell spicy lilies. with spicy, tangy roses quickly taking over. And i smell something ginger-like. OH i'm having a perfume hallucination!! smells very expensive and chic. Like it!

This smelled wonderful. I think this was the second niche fragrance I ever smelled.....that's if you consider Creed niche. It smelled amazing. Has this been discontinued?

this is a really beautiful rose smell - but for the price it is a little too simplistic and one note for me.

This has great opening. But 30 mins later it has gone cheap... like deo-cologne cheap.

The rose hits hard at first then the citrus takes over. It's unusual and beautiful .
