Thé Yulong

My friend recommended this to me. At first I was indifferent to the recommendation because although I am a tea fanatic, I do not like the marketing by Jackson Wang (or any other celebrity, to be honest - couldn't care less about them), and the fragrance is overpriced, despite the scent being actually excellent. In Asia, everyone mentions Wang's name when talking about this fragrance. That's why I kept putting this off my mind until now. So eventually I decided to give it a go because my friend really recommended it and she thought I would love it. And I do. I really do. It's luminescent, uplifting, and very calming, as expected of oolong tea scent. There is citrus in the opening but the good thing about this is the tea stays linear on the skin. It is overpriced, but it is also a joy to use. I never was a fan of any of the Armani fragrances in the general line (i.e. Acqua di Giò) but I am now a fan of this one. It is such a beautiful scent. It does NOT smell like Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea. I'm surprised why people say it is similar. The difference is heaven and hell, with EA being like a toilet freshener whereas this one doesn't. However, I do get resemblances to Bvlgari Eau Thé Vert (though I much prefer this one personally) and MITH Another Tea (the latter can only be bought in Thailand and Taiwan, I believe, but I wouldn't recommend you taking the trip for just a bottle of fragrance.) My verdict: overpriced, but excellent. If you have the chance and happen to love tea in fragrances, you shouldn't miss this.

Thé Yulong is the fragrance that changed my perspective on perfumery as a whole and jump-started my fragrance journey (specifically for aromatherapy). I have generally avoided fragrances for most of my young life as I would almost always get a splitting headache after having my nose holes assaulted by cheap, potent, and heavily indolic perfume. This was not the case with Thé Yulong. The frag opens with a fresh citrus but not at all painfully sharp (like my experience with Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea), followed by a soft green earthiness with slight bitterness. Then, it develops into a delicious creamy green tea with hints of jasmine and sweetness. My nose doesn't seem to pick up any black tea here... But I really enjoy the skin-scent it leaves. Not sure how to describe it- it simply elevates my natural scent. Thé Yulong seems to perform better in cooler weather. I believe it could also work in summer, but be warned; the frag is completely snuffed out in high humidity. I tested it out and I could only get whiffs of fecal-like musk. Yuck. Performance was quite impressive, as the scent lingered on the cuff of my sweater for days... I love this fragrance :)

Thé Yulong Giorgio Armani Bought into the hype. Got a bottle from novela sale. My second Prive. Pleasant orange flora tea scent, sweetish and unisex. Easier for the schools, office and meetings. However the DNA isn't unique or anything special, there are similar tea scents that doesn't differ much from the scent and it's development. Bvlgari Pour Homme is similar just not as flora, BPH is greener. This has similarities to Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger Prada too because of the dominant floras and orange blossom. It also smells more powdery on clothes/tees. I'm not sure if the tea smells more neroli than tea though because to be honest I'm getting more floras neroli than tea, the tea isn't prominent enough to stand out, especially when the scent is focus on black tea from the yulong mountains in Yunnan. To the masses out there, this is just a clean flora musk scent that's good for aromatherapy and smells like hotels and some malls. For me, I'll prefer a more realistic tea scent and less feminine. Good if you can get it on a sale.

I love this scent- its fresh yet aromatic deep and calming. The beginning starts off fresh with the citrus but in the dry down the black tea note really stands out to me. Maybe because I am chinese-south east asian this scent is nostalgic and calming- as if i'm waking up in the morning, my neighbour is burning an altar somewhere far away and i'm sipping on a hot glass of black chinese tea whilst tending to my jasmine tree. I see this as being a day fragrance but honestly it calms my nerves after a hectic day, I use it a lot at night too for that reason. There is no sugar in this tea, so not exactly a conventional "sexy" scent, but more of a calm quiet confident kind of sexy. I think it layers great with MFK BR540, it adds sweetness and highlights the jasmine whilst cancelling out the "medicinal" quality that BR540 can have. Yulong + BR540 makes it more feminine leaning imo, but definitely still unisex.

This was a blind buy and I was getting wary of my recent purchases (like the other Armani Prive I own Rouge Malachite which is a bit too bubblegummy for my taste). However, Thé Yulong was such a nice surprise. It's tea and it has cardamom but it's so fresh and light and airy and pleasant, like an iced tea unlike my other tea scent which I did not enjoy much (Gris Charnel). Although this also has cardamom in it, it's not that obvious and I like the fruitiness and sweetness of this because it isn't overwhelming. It kind of reminds me a bit of Ormonde Jayne Levant but they're different enough that I'm happy to have both in my collection. I just like this scent so much; it's currently even in my favorites list on here. My only quibble would be the fact that it doesn't last that long but I love pretty much everything about it--the packaging, the minimalist design and the cap which looks like a stone.

Somebody here said it smells like CK One and you know what? They weren't lying! That's pretty much exactly what this is. But I ain't even mad, it's delicious. Both incredibly fresh and somehow cozy, you could wear this year round and smell great, though I think maybe better for warmer months. You could wear this as a man or as a woman, it somehow doesn't even lean one way or the other. The sillage is great, neither overpowering nor invisible. The opening is citrus forward, which worried me as citrus doesn't usually sit well on me, but the dry down has the flowers and tea come out and it's just...marvelous. This is a masterpiece, though maybe not entirely original. If you're low on funds CK One would replace this in a pinch, though if you have extra to spend this one does smell slightly fancier (and less 1990's staple) to me. Really, really lovely, I can't imagine anyone not liking this.

It opens with floral and citrus notes, whereas the tea scent hangs in the background, and a subtle musk starts to come through as it dries down. It's elegant and quietly stylish, great for everyday use. I'd compare it to passing by grown tea leaves in a garden, rather than a photorealistic brewed tea scent. Personally love it, but I find myself balking at using it in excess given the price point, even though it does require reapplication after a few hours. Edit 1/2025: Sprayed it on my scarf before going out in the snow to keep myself feeling fresh during a long day of skiing, and got compliments both in the lodge and sitting on the ski lift. Pleasant surprise, as I didn't expect it to perform at all in the cold. It really works for every season, and totally worth the full bottle for me - I'm on my second now

I managed to get a bottle for around £100 for 50ml! And it arrived today - I missed out on black friday deal, so was so happy I found it on John Lewis website and had to buy it straight away. I tested it in store at Selfridges a few months ago, there was only a little bit in the bottle so only enough for paper test. Thankfully, it is just as good as I remember and smells great on my skin. It is better than Wulong Cha - another tea scent I have tried, which has a minty note on my skin. You can smell the oolong and green tea in this one, it is nicely balanced and refreshing. I was a bit hesitant to get it especially as it is an EDT not an EDP but it has been on my mind since I tested it so I knew I had to have it. Definitely worth getting on a discount. If you don't like Wulong Cha then give this a try!

Thé Yulong EDT Giorgio Armani Wooooo! This is really good. I live in a tropical climate and am always on the lookout for fresh fragrances that, of course, are interesting. From the start I get citrus. Not a sharp citrus but subtle. The lasting ending is non-overwhelming floral and definitely the tea notes. I love the smell of tea and find it a refreshing drink in hot weather. This fragrance doesn’t last on my skin and remains close on my clothes. Remember it is an EDT so I had no expectations of its longevity. I’ll be spraying heavy and often because I can’t get enough of it. This was a blind purchase for me. One can get lucky sometimes and this was a lucky buy. I can see this being a constant in my collection. I’m certainly addicted to this beauty.

WOW!!! I thought that I would love it (I have bought it blindly). It is sweeter, but not overly sweet. The green notes are mild, just hint a bit of herbs. I definitely smell something sour and even piquant/zesty. The spectrum ends round and creamy. The scent is very well blended, you can hardly pick up individual notes. It has a bit of vintage-y vibe, something I notice in Prada La Femme. I even find some similarities with Kilian Princess. Which makes sense, because the idea of these perfumes is centered around the tea. I find this scent very elegant and feminine. Very "posh". Light. And unique. The scent is lingering around for a very long time - for me it is very long lasting. The projection is not too much, but not that faint.

I don’t know why I haven’t written a review of this beautiful scent! If you are searching for the ultimate clean, sophisticated tea fragrance with an addition of citrus this is it. It smells like luxury minimalism. It’s calming, effortless, and incredibly high-end - like walking into a 5-star spa or sipping premium tea in a boutique hotel. I love wearing it on hot weather, some people will say that the sillage is intimate but I think it is good that it’s not overpowering, you don’t want to give people a migraine in 30C. Sure, the price is high but I’ve got mine on a very good sale so it’s worth it. And a beautiful bottle - the only thing is that the cap could be heavier.

I love this fragrance so much 😍 probably cos it has so many of my favourite notes in it - jasmine, vetiver, ambrette, cardamom iris. When I first smelt it it reminded me of a phase in my life where I wore a lot of bvlgari au the vert but the yulong is a lot more complex & beautiful. On me it’s airy a bit soapy & powdery. I recently got the body wash & body lotion as well & that helps to make it last longer & project more. Love the candle as well. Layers well with Clive Christian matsukita cos of the smoky tea note in that perfume. Tea heaven 💚

The Yulong feels like sitting in quiet mountains after a hike while drinking bright lemon tea. Tea and citrus blend effortlessly here, never harsh, never fighting for attention, with a soft green earthiness underneath. The dry down settles into something musky and powdery, warm and close to the skin. Longevity isn't its strength though as you'll get about two hours of projection before it becomes a close skin scent but honestly, that feels right for a fragrance this graceful. But I think it was never meant to be loud.

if we're putting wu long cha by nishane and the yulong by armani in a competition then the yulong wins by a long shot. it doesn't have that sharp citrussy cologne like opening like wulong cha, and this is a lot softer then wulong cha. just wish this was cheaper and lasted longer than 2 hours ya'll! i can't believe armani made all the private line fragrances edt. i think they're all deserving of at least an extrait concentration for the price. but that's besides the point. the fragrance is a masterpiece.

Tea. If you're looking for a green, slightly citrusy green, white tea type of fragrance that smells expensive like a 5 star hotel lobby, this is it. Rich, elegant perfume. It's not exactly fresh throughout the 4-5 hours max of longevity with moderate projection. But it does smells classy and elegant throughout the process, without drowning the people around you. Value isn't really great either, but it's really unique. The vibes I get when I wear this make me feel like someone really rich and elegant.

Despite the high price tag and not having too much longevity, I like how the drydown is still fresh without smelling like Elizabeth Arden green tea and on my skin the vetiver isn't "smokey" but there is still a woody base. I'd say this is a great unisex scent especially for males who don't normally wear fragrances and don't want something too woody. Wish it would last longer without needing to use the lotion but I do wonder how different an EDP version would be if they actually made it.

Thé Yulong is quiet luxury in liquid form. It’s fresh without being sharp, calming and elegant. There’s a soft citrus lift at the opening. The green tea note feels incredibly refined—clean, airy, while the black tea adds depth and warmth. This is a fragrance that feels like being seated at the opera—composed, cultured, and quietly confident. I'd imagine someone effortlessly put-together—someone who doesn’t need to announce their presence to be noticed. Understated. Classy. Grown.

I love and want this so badly... I love tea, and I love citrus, so this is almost perfectly catered to me. The projection isn't huge but I don't mind, it's something you can smell on yourself throughout the day and it isn't so intimate that other people could only smell it in a hug. It's just so delicious and fresh but not abrasive in the slightest, the tea/ white florals keep it 'warm' while the orange keeps it bright. This is stunning and I would buy a bottle in a heartbeat.

This is hands down one of the best tea fragrances on the market. I never cared to see what the hype was until very recently, and now I understand why this scent is loved by so many. True that it’s not extremely groundbreaking, it’s beautiful and well rounded alright. HOWEVER, when I sprayed it on my pajamas????? 5 days later I can still smell this extremely pleasant scent. I’m for sure gonna get a big bottle of this after I run out of the little 7.5 ml splasher I have.

Delicate, not lasting long but very luxurious and incredible tea-type of scent. Very office-friendly just like Vetiver D'Hiver. If Vetiver D'Hiver is considered blue as the liquid is, this is similar but the green version of it. But the notes? I wonder why that list is so long. I don't know how ambrette or petitgrain really smells but except tea and something lightly sweet, I find nothing. Maybe they constitute to the overall and should not be distinguishable.
