Ange ou Demon

I remember the first time I smelled this perfume. I was at work and the girl who sat next to me was wearing it. She was a stunningly beautiful, dark haired, dark eyed, petite Polish girl who just oozed sophistication. You know, everything I'm not (aside from the dark hair and eyes, lol). She was also one of those 'beautiful on the inside people' too. Incredibly sweet, funny, intelligent...the kind of person who just exuded everything you'd want to be as a woman. One day she wore this to work and I was utterly entranced. The perfume was so perfect for her, it complimented both her looks and personality. Dark and sweet, yet a little mysterious - in a really good way. Naturally, I wanted myself some of that potion, so I found out what it was and went out and bought myself a bottle in my lunch hour. I'd love to say that by wearing this perfume I too became the epitome of elegance and femininity, but funnily enough it didn't immediately transform me into a classy stunner upon wearing it. Yeah, shocker right? But...it did become an immediate favourite for me. I don't tend to gravitate towards scents that are really spicy. Samsara makes me want to open up the nearest window and jump out of it, whilst Shalimar gives me one of those 'bastard behind the eyes' kinds of headaches and makes me feel like Miss Hannigan from the original 'Annie' movie. I do get on with and love the original Dior Addict though and I totally agree with the other reviewers below who find that Ange Ou Demon & Addict share a similar vibe. It opens with a searing cacophony of notes which at first made me worry that it might bring on a headache, but it immediately seems to calm down into what manages to be both a warm and cold fragrance at the same time. The name is spot on, because it evokes both an angelic sweetness and a mysterious darkness, all at once. The incense note isn't too cloying or overwhelming and is tempered beautifully by the vanilla & white musk notes. In fact the scent overall makes me think of a grown-up, more complex, night-time companion to TBS White Musk. I absolutely love it and so does the man of the house - which is never a bad thing ;-) The only complaint - if I can even call it that - is the fact that I just cannot wear this in the warmer months. For me AOD is reserved solely for the cooler temperatures that arrive at the end of September. I look forward to wearing this every Autumn, once the clammy & claustrophobic heat of summer finally dissipates. And every year, that first spritz brings an immediate smile to my face. It's just a really beautifully created fragrance which never fails to make me feel good when wearing it. It also gets a good few compliments too. I don't think that many people - outside of places like this site - are all that familiar with it now, which is kinda nice. I don't think I've ever smelled in on anyone else in years - it was 10 years ago when I first smelled it on my work colleague - and it certainly doesn't smell like the majority of popular fragrances out there. I will always have a bottle of Ange Ou Demon in my collection...as long as it's being manufactured and sold. It's a bit unique, feels really special when wearing it and I'm incredibly grateful to have such a simpatico relationship with it. Probably not a good blind buy, but definitely worth investing in a tester if you can get hold of one.

I adore this fragrance. This is so much like D&G Pour Femme. In fact, so much so that I had to put one on one wrist and the other on the other so I could compare them. Considering they are fairly close pricewise, it's neither here nor there which one you get but there is a small nuance between the two. The main nuance is that Ange ou Demon is slightly drier in the dry down where D&G Pour Femme is slightly sweeter. Looking at the notes, Ange ou Demon contains both vanilla and tonka bean, whereas D&G Pour Femme contains vanilla and marshmallow. I suspect the difference is in the quantities of the sweet notes used in the formula. So, for this fragrance, you would be trying to work out if she was naughty or nice. Perhaps she is both! The woman who wears this could have a heart of gold and absolutely love and adore those close to her, but threaten her loved ones and like a mama bear, she will very likely rip you a new asshole at the very least. This woman stands confidently in her power, knows what she is capable of, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She is sexy and sassy, classy, enigmatic, somewhat circumspect, she knows how to read a room and the people in it, she may quietly observe, and if she faces any conflict, her answers/actions will be swift and calculated. She knows what risks she's willing to take and what consequences she is willing to accept because she has read you before you even noticed her presence. This perfume could be considered, dark, rich, venturing into witchy, gothic, alternative even. It definitely works for a rock or metal concert, maybe even a steampunk or Halloween event. Like a black widow, she will draw her prey in. She is exciting and intoxicating! The added bonus is that she will draw you in for at least 12hrs because the longevity is great. She will lure any nose because the prey will smell her and likely search for her in a room. Like The Cult's song, he will be begging her 🎵Come on lil' devil, be my little angel🎵 I've put this as an all year round fragrance as during the summer months, it is a perfect night time fragrance.

Last week I was in a tiny atmospheric health store/ spiritual boutique, looking for my must-have incense , which I'd almost run out of. I was in my own little world, listening to music in my earphones, when this elderly, rather timid-looking woman with beautiful white hair in a french twist, approached me. I almost couldn't hear her at first but she said: " Dear, you look like someone who should be wearing Ange ou Demon. You know, the perfume, Givenchy." They didn't have fragrances at all in that store, except for essential oils and the like, so it came out of nowhere. I had not heard about this scent before so I didn't know if I should be grateful or somewhat "offended". However, she seemed respectful and not like she was "type casting" me as a demonic woman because I have long red stiletto nails and a somewhat victorian gothic aesthethic, so I just asked her in what way she meant and she answered: "Oh, you don't know it? It's very special, It's not for everybody but I think it's for you". Suffice it to say, I was intrigued at this point. I went home, read the divisive reviews about it (which I found promising in a non-crowd pleasing way) and ordered a bottle online and got it this friday. It's now sunday , I've worn it all weekend and I am taking this on as one of my few signature scents. Mind you, I do not take signature scents lightly, but when you know: you know. .... And this is just pure angelic dark magic on my skin. It's the vibe as Dior Poison, Lancome Magie Noire - only richer, more sophisticated, more alluring in a very classic sense. I worship this fragrance already , an absolute holy grail. If I ever meet that woman from the store again, I will surely thank her. Ange ou Demon is clearly not for everybody - but maybe it's for you, too

Ange ou Demon is a very fitting name for this fragrance. There is a duality to it. It is a dark, sexy fragrance that somehow feels light and airy at the same time. I find a lot of darker fragrances thick and heavy, but this one feels like it floats around me all day. This is a pretty unique fragrance for me, it doesn't really smell like anything else I have tried, except it's flankers of course. It is very well blended, I smell a warm, vanilla white floral with a soft, smooth spiciness. I think of this as a strong, sexy, grown woman fragrance. There is a maturity to the scent that doesn't smell dated or matronly. I usually wear this in fall and winter, but i have worn it for a summer night time scent and it worked very well. Since the darkness is not heavy, it performs very nicely in the heat. I just usually prefer this type of smell in cooler weather. The performance is incredible. It lasts ALL day, 12+ hours and has a stunning sillage that I can smell floating around me the entire time and never feels heavy or suffocating. The projection is strong, but not room filling. A light to moderate application is all that is needed for great performance. I usually start most fragrances with four sprays, and with that, this last forever. With two sprays I had the same longevity with a bit less projection, which may be preferable to a lot of people. The bottle, like the fragrance is unique and instantly reconizable as Ange ou Demon, the flankers (which are worth exploring) share the same bottle shape with a couple just being a bit squat. This is a fragrance I will repurchase when I finish my current bottle. I am trying very hard to keep myself from purchasing a back up bottle. I'm not sure if I will win that fight in the end.

I came for the rosewood, I stayed for the magic... 2006 Amber-Floral SAFFRON-LILY-TONKA with Vanilla & Rosewood by Jean-Pierre Bethouart & Olivier Cresp. This scent has a haunting beauty that's both ancient and ahead of its time with the use of saffron to punctuate a succulent lily, all resting on a baby-powdery tonka & vanilla-woods base. Thyme here fluffs up the saffron, while ylang engorges the lily. Tonka here leans more to the baby-powdery-woody-sweet with its sweet tobacco-flower nuances played up more than it's fruity nuances, which blends beautifully with rosewood, and delivers a satisfying hit for fans of rosewood (such as myself). Performance is well above average for year round wear, although this will shine like an enchanting mist when it's overcast and/or cool. It's a love for me. Kudos to reviewer FreshScentz below who references the Owens' sisters of Practical Magic (1998) as befitting this scent, and gives us a fantasy pyramid: "Top notes of silver saffron roses reflected in the full moon, heart notes of the trail of enticing vanilla fireflies, and base notes of damp cemetery oak moss, and the immensity of the 1000 year-old masonry of a bewitched gothic castle, deep in a dense forest." What more could be said?... Update 10/27/24: Sprayed this on today and was surprised to notice a clean laundry vibe with the other notes that I hadn't noticed before. This balances perfectly with the damp base notes. Not sure where that's coming from. however, this has gotten even better than I remember. Still a love. Update 04/21/25: Wow! This has gotten a lot sweeter now. So good. Still has the clean laundry facet. Sprayed it today for the lily which is enjoyable also. Love it.

So, I have a heavy emotional attachment to this perfume because it’s the one my dad buys me every Christmas, which he’s done since I was in my early 20s. Back then, I thought it was too ‘big’ a perfume for me, but I wore it consistently because...I was skint and couldn’t afford to buy my own perfume! Anyway, over the years, it became my signature scent due to my liberal overspraying on nights out. I’m absolutely not annoyed about it - it doesn’t feel like a common perfume and certainly not for young 20-somethings and so I felt that I’d carved a little scent niche for myself. However, as I’ve grown up a bit, I’ve realised that I don’t love lily or ylang-ylang as heavily as is featured in A ou D. For me, it generally presents as a sharp, white floral which is undercut by vanilla - a vanilla which feels almost cold, rather than warm and spicy. That said, she’s a masterpiece. The name fits perfectly - you don’t know which side you’ll get on which day. She’s fickle and changeable - everything depends on the weather, your temperature, your mood. It’s incredible how the perfume flows. Definitely not a blind buy because the performance blows a lot of my other scents out of the water. I can fill a room, which I love. Although I’ve also been told that my perfume is choking, so it depends how confident and bold you’re feeling. I’ll never be without this in my collection. It’s a magnificent perfume.

I’ve been sitting with this for a while before making this review. I wanted to really give it time and observe how I react to it on different days and in different weather. I LOVE this perfume. It’s soft, and powdery. In a warm vanilla embrace sort of way. There’s definitely some hints at saffron and Oakmoss, and in addition to the most prominent note, vanilla, I do also detect Lily. A peppery Lily, not a sweet demure Lily. But it’s the overall composition that keeps me coming back for more over and over again. There is a beautiful duality in this fragrance, but it’s done in a very subtle and mesmerizing way. It’s taunting me with familiarity... reminding me of a person, or a time, or a place. It is sweet, but not too sweet, and vanilla, but definitely not plain and boring vanilla. This fragrance has so much beauty and a little bit of “what is that”, but it’s done in such a way that is not only wearable around others, but I find I keep wanting to respray myself when it starts to fade. And sadly, it does fade a little too quick for me. I find that it lasts around 2-3 hrs, with subtle projection and moderate sillage for the first hr or so. I am hoping that as my bottle ages a bit, this will increase over time. I feel like this fragrance is best suited for cooler weather due to the powdery feel and the sweetness, but I feel it can be worn day or night.

Oh baby! I normally dislike reformulations - and this one has most definitely had one - but this time, I'm ok with it. My first bottle was bought in 2011. I know this because it was my first perfume after moving to Ireland. It was (is, in fact; I haven't emptied it, and now have three bottles at different fill-levels) INTENSELY herbal. It's saffron, thyme and wood and pretty much nothing else. And it is WEIRD. Then, in 2020, I bought a new bottle (this time to celebrate a new job) And now I get the lily, I get the vanilla, and I get a sweeeeeet, smooth citrus - and the saffron is still there. The thyme and the wood are still there. And the weirdness is still there. But it is softer, cuddlier, more approachable. It reminds me of vanilla icecream one moment, a night time garden the next, and a fantasy temple for a dark goddess right after that. It's delicious and interesting and unique. It's warm and cold. It really does have the duality that the name suggests. The only drawback is longevity; the old bottle lasts for a full day - for real. The new one sits at maybe 4-5 hours before starting to fade. Bottomline: if you want a unique, beautiful scent that you will probably be alone with, then get this. ...but don't blind-buy it. It is, afterall, pretty weird. I love it!

Oh how do I even start....I am at my third bottle it's my absolute favourite perfume that perfectly descibes me and my personality...the clubbing nights all the bad choices and the good ones all the nights of magic happened wearing this gem.... It's not a common scent it is not the usual sweet gourmand or fruity floral that bombards the market it is a statement of power or mistery of seductiveness alluring.Best suitable for night time,date night or cold days wearing all black or a black sexy dress to get a sexy cloud of mistery around you. Not a juvenile scent probabily 25 years plus it's not loud but not soft either she is a femme fatale she knows how to get what she wants.A perfect balance between sweetness the angel part and more bitter floral notes the demon part you could say the duality of this perfume makes it kinda unique.Major gothic vibes but not church like perhaps the lily gives it a more funeral home similarity it's a mature scent after all but it's a dark sexy type. Could not find a better alternative for this one and hopefully never gets discontinued....

This is a classical scent from what I remember, a little sweet but not a sugar bomb. Think of dry lilies instead of wet and earthy ones. You can smell citrus from the opening, but that's about it. The florals, saffron and thyme come out for a little kick, but they're not as irritating as the pepper note in Crystal Noir. The woodiness is mellow and not as sharp as sandalwood. It has a little bit of incense too. They don't smell artificial at all. Overall, it smells well blended and expensive smelling. More unique than the ones in the market rn(coughbr540) I don't find notes here that makes it smell 'mature'. It's cold, melancholic and mysterious. Something a weeping ghost of a queen would wear. Jeanne Arthes Love Generation Rock is pretty much a dead ringer of this one, with only minor differences(regular folks cant tell them apart). TLDR: If you love non-sugared DRY floral woody scents that give off a shampoo-ey vibe like Versace Crystal Noir, Estee Lauder Sensuous, Chanel No 19, etc. You'll like this.

Its about time I make a review on this fragrance. To be honest the only reason I didn’t do it sooner is because I absolutely want to gatekeep this perfume at all cost. It is my signature scent, been wearing it for yearsssss. If you ask anyone who is close to me what my smell is they you tell you it’s this perfume. I haven’t worn it that much in the last 3-4 years because I have been expanding my perfume collection and experimenting with different scents a lot but my mom still asks me about this perfume all the time. It stays FOREVER on clothes ( like even after washing) and until next wash on hair. It is BEAUTIFUL!!! The first time I tried it the lady at the store told me jokingly that once it touches the skin, it would reveal if I’m more of an angel (delicate florals) or more of a demon (warm spicy notes), and of course it confirmed I’m more of a demon. This perfumes takes you on a journey and smells different on every person I had put this on. It is magical...

After a month of owning it I can do a better view on it. In the summer when I first tried it I immediately knew I had to have it for the winter of this year, like A MUST buy. So finally made the purchase in October and..I am kinda conflicted and haven't really been loving it as much as I thought I would be. In the shop, the one that I tried was really heavy vanilla with saffron and a hint lily in her. At home it is heavy saffron with a strong orange that is a bit soapy at times but dries down to a warm vanilla. It is so confusing really. I would still say that it is a vanilla fragrance but DO NOT blind buy it because she has so many levels to her. You just don't know what kind of her you are getting that day, is it warm spicy, vanilla or white floral- very mysterious she is. It is quite mature too and may be old fashioned for some but I still love her. She is quite affordable to some other Givenchy fragrances and is long lasting.

This is one of the most unique scents ive smelled. What I love is how the name really does fit the fragrance! It's bewitching, sensual, and mysterious. Opening up with a really interesting aromatic tang from the saffron. It gives it this poisonous effect. Like im smelling an aphrodisiac or something of the sorts. All of that, to then dry down to a narcotic lily, and I also smell a bit of ylang. They smell waxy, sweet and almost play doughy in a way. The base is warm, sweet and vanillic. As for seasons, im not sure if id wear this in summer or spring, maybe on the rainy days. I find it suitable for colder seasons however! Spices personally don't read well in the heat to my nose, and I find the aromatics of saffron and thyme to carry throughout. Great longevity and projection as well! All around really unique scent and performance is great! Maybe don't blind buy, I don't see this being super mass appealing. Loves ittttttt

I absolutely love this fragrance! It's so alluring and mysterious! The scent is fresh, cool, crystal-like and has a warm sweetness to it. I mostly get the oakmoss and vanilla and maybe tonka bean. I do get hints of saffron, ylang-ylang and the mandarin orange. On my skin, it lasts for like 3-4 hours. On clothing, super long, 12 hour plus. I find this scent to be luxurious, powerful, sophisticated and mysterious. Something you'll expect someone who is an 'elite' to wear. For this reason, I feel shy to wear this. I'm not an accomplished woman who is rich and lives in a luxury apartment. My lifestyle is too simple to wear this fragrance. I feel like if you are a woman like that, you can wear this fragrance as a daily wear. Otherwise, this perfume may be good to wear on formal occasions. I really do love this fragrance and I am very happy with the person who created this. They did a wonderful job.

Very first EDP that I have bought around 4 or so, years ago. I still have just a tiny bit left (and it's still good! It doesn't go bad after so long just fyi) but let me tell you that this is my signature scent for dark & cold, almost melancholy winters. Like if you would take a stroll down the road covered in snow while sky is that dark color (not night time) ... Spices are both warm and cold, a tad bit sweet but not too much, woody and aromatic... makes me feel so strong when wearing it. I dare say it makes you feel like a demon and not an angel at all... demon with angelic face! It lasts forever on clothes and on my skin is like 12h+! So worth the price. The bottle is also so beautiful. But this is not safe blind buy imo as some people found it too strong when they smelled it on me and it made them feel uncomfortable. Some even said it reminded them of church scent. But for me it is 10/10!

I absolutely adore this fragrance. I tried it when I was maybe 14-15 and kept thinking about it a few years untill I got into the fragrance world and started buying perfumes for myself. It had an hypnotising effect on me, and when I finally bought it I was the happiest person on earth.🤩 I wore it every single day, wherever I would go so rignt know I am a little bit fed up with it and I have to make a pause. But for me this perfume is a masterpiece, on moments it smells to me like a cloud of cold untouchable vanilla when I smell my hand, but when I get a whiff of it during the day it smells like a warm heaven, so opulent, intoxicating just gorgeous. A lot of people say it smells better in winter, but to me it shines the best in summer and warm days. Longevity amazing on my skin, I got numerous compliments on it. Love.❤

This perfume is wild! I've never had another fragrance where in one single wear you can legit go from really loving it, to seriously questioning your choice to wear it, to loving it all over again in a new way. It's an absolute shapeshifter. The magic is that it completely shifts in character as different notes pop out, depending on how you wear it. The myth is that it only has two characters, but I swear this one has at least 3-4. The concept of a safe or unsafe blind buy doesn't even apply, here. It can be very fresh and youthful, very crone and serious, or very dark and edgy. All "very", and not quite at the same time. That places it in the category of fine art. Also the flankers are ridiculous, they don't even have notes in common and I don't get how they're linked with this (or why there are so many).

I apologize for my english At first I didnt like it , thought it was too masculine , vintage and floral so I gifted it to my mom . Thankfully she didnt like it either because i went back for a second sniff and omg thats when i actually saw the magic in this perfume . Like wondervalley666 said it feels like a mystical fairy in a dark green forest that is sitting on a beautiful flower . Not the disney type of interpretation of a fairy , but a beautiful but dark and mysterious fairy that can poison you if you get on her bad side. This fragrance is mystical , ethereal , feminine yet dark , screams femme fatale but still has a touch of softness and light to it. Definetely is not for everyone so not a safe buy!! I think it will be great in winter and summer both

I finally decided to write a review for this scent. After wearing it literally half of my life, since I was 17, now turning 34. This has been my SIGNARURE, the ultimate, fab, go to, fav, most amazing scent and the biggest reason my scent library has over 120 bottles now. The reason I've spent thousands on a scent library, houndrends on education (literally studying perfume), mixing own formulations. A truly inspiring fragrance which became my life soundtrack. And I still haven't found anything close to this one to compare or replace. I don't actually think I will ever want to. This is art in a bottle. And I have a lifetime backup of the old formulation. I'll post a real rev of the notes and how the scent develops, but I think this prologue was much needed.

I've wanted to write a comment on this for a while, but it's only now. This is a fragrance that is completely different depending on where it is sprayed. It is different on your hair, different on your arm, different on your neck, different on your clothes. Okay, you might expect that, but the polarisation in this fragrance is more than in others. This was the mature and gothic feminine fragrance of our childhood. Still very mysterious and nostalgic. I think the vanilla is not as overpowering as it is in today's perfumes. It fades very quickly. Saffron and thyme take the lead here. Sharp saffron and black thyme that occasionally spoil all the softness, which is very exciting. Oakmoss is the queen. A fragrance that lives up to its name :)

umbra tears from a saffron witch indeed it reminds me of an old, decrepit church in some rural ghost town. the vanilla managing to be unique as a main scent with the naturally fiery saffron flower accompanying it. after about an hour or 2, a nice mixture of thyme and tonka bean to go along with that microwavable chicken sandwich. without telling my girlfriend it was a women's frag, she immediately commented how manly the scent of saffron was along with the vanilla. it is indeed a very unisex friendly fragrance despite it mainly for women. first spray is strong so start lightly on the inside of elbows or the wrists. if you're hardcore, spray directly in eyes or around your chin/nape of neck.

This...my, is it sexy. Incredibly well blended...hard to discern the separation of notes. To me this smells like your skin after a night of dancing in a hot club. You applied something sweet, liberally before you went, and now there is just an all consuming memory of the fragrance that once was. This veil of an alluring sweet floral and tonka bean is radiating a warm sensuality in your personal space. The only moderately bizarre thing is I’m getting a slight bit of rubber band or water ballon note...just for a second when I pull my nose away from my skin. Could be because this sat in my mailbox for a few hours before I came home. Regardless, this is going to be STUNNING in the winter

A very unique spicy , warm but fresh night time fragrance. Love this since early 2000's. Very strong longevity and you will smell it on yourself for more than 7 8 hours atleast. The smell is powdery , dark floral , spicy fresh and warm at the same time , dark and herbal. A very nice signature scent which will not remind you of any particular notes. It's in the truest sense a well blended perfume. Not a safe blind buy but if you like the Givenchy L'Interdit line or Gucci guilty then you would love this OG one. The flankers are more floral than the OG one. Its marketed for female audience but its dark enough that even men can easily pull this off. Its dark without being Gothic.

Dark and delicious, and also a little enigmatic in a good way. It has a lovely scent that is the pinnacle of sophistication and femininity. It begins with a piercing cacophony of notes that quickly seems to quiet down into a scent that is both warm and frigid at the same time. The name is perfect since it both conjures up images of heavenly sweetness and enigmatic ]darkness. The vanilla and white musk notes do a wonderful job of elegantly balancing the incense smell such that it isn't overpowering or cloying. It's just a really well-made fragrance, and wearing it always makes me feel wonderful. It receives quite a few compliments as well.

My all time favorite! This one is powerful on my skin: it lasts 8+ hours, and the sillage is amazing. It stays on my coat for weeks if I don’t wash it. It’s so unique and well blended! I think it’s one of my most complimented scents, by men and women. It seems like Ange ou Démon is part of “Alien’s love or hate club”, and I can see why. It’s different from all the mass pleaser designer fragrances, it’s strong, it’s in your face. I have never smelled this on anyone else, except a friend that bought it because she smelled it on me. This is a sexy and mysterious fragrance. If this is what you are looking for, you might have found it.

If you like vanillaesque perfumes you will like this one. To me it's just a deep vanilla scent, i also smell Saffron and Thyme at first but it just melts into my skin and i get a TON of vanilla on my skin, super yummy. t's warm, sexy, spicy. My boyfriend is a huge fan of this scent and will request it for date nights. But a little goes a very long way, it's intense and strong and probably not for everyones taste. But if you like a very heavy and rich smell, this is it. Similar to Muglers Angel which I love as well but not the same at all, if you like sweet and spicy, this will probably be a hit for you.

cloying synthetic insanity. things it makes me picture against my will: the botoxed foreheads of jennifer connelly and courtney cox. real estate agents closing the deal. vanilla and blackberry buttercream icing laced with razorblades. i’m yanked by orange citrus notes the lily has no room to breathe. lily is near the core, screaming at the bottom of a ball pit of 100 other notes. i get the thyme! and a savoury underbelly a perfumey perfume, in a dated style, but i love it and need it! its strength is desirable. there is something i have to decrypt in this scent, a compulsion to smell it continuously

Not that I care but it drives the mens wild 🤪 despite it being over a decade old, this beauty will never get "old", EVER. The Saffron makes it it's own perfume and unique to other strong contenders in the market. It will never age. So sexy, so voluptuous, sweet and intoxicating. What I pick up the most (other than saffron) is what I usually love in a fragrance: Lily, Vanilla and tonka bean. She's strong but she's no rowdy woman or screechy "boss b*tch". She's a sultry and mysterious vixen. Shes not any other girl, shes her own person and a complete woman. Key word: INTOXICATING and unforgettable 💜

not cloying, in hindsight, but the brashness sticks around. metallic orange blossom shrouds the opening and gives me more strong visuals of a corporate woman at the edge of her sanity - today she is layering dense beaded necklaces and they carry a weird oily tang from years of haphazard storage. for a over a year i have been huffing AoD with rapt attention and a desire to listen and learn, and only recently she gave me a blast of fly spray straight off the cap. i used to get this discordant pesticide effect from lemon juice and sugar crepes, and it didn't put me off enough to stop eating them.

Seductive, provocative, sexy, confident – you name it. Killer performance, great longevity and projection. Interesting note combination make it stand out among other perfume in this category. For sure a memorable scent. Used to rock it in my twenties to boost my confidence. Good for cooler weather. Recently wanted to repurchase it for nostalgia’s sake, but the sample I tried in the store was yellow and did not smell like that original one years ago. I also notice most of the samples even at the airports of this fragrance are yellow. Props for a creative bottle design, very pretty!

The fragrance begins with a fresh mix of mandarin and thyme. One cannot tell. The sillage is strong yet appropriate. Everyone has said that it's a perfume for the night but if you're planning to sit in a cafe during the cooler parts of the day or meet with friends for a casual chat, it can certainly be worn during the daytime as well. Not a safe blind buy, but I took a risk and decided to try it out. There is just something so alluring and mysterious to it, it is literally a dichotomy between hot and cold, like a woman who draws you in but intimidates you at the same time. Long lasting, and with a decent scent trail, but in no way cloying or offensive (3-4 sprays is enough). I just adore perfumes that feel a bit 'cold', metallic on my skin. Eventually it subsides to pleasant sweetness with a hint of star anise (?). Definitely expected to be more mature, but it is also in no way juvenile.

It's moody, elegant, and impossible to pin down. Also not a sugary gourmand or a forgettable floral...it’s a perfect balance of light and shadow. On the skin it feels like a fairy wandering through an old, dusty haunted house: soft, luminous, but with a dark shimmer beneath. I would not say it's super sexy but rather a 'cool girl' fragrance and even though my bottle is an older batch, it’s not super long-lasting on me but it's definitely worth reapplying after 3/4 hours. I’ll always need this one in my collection.

This is an interesting one. When I first tested it on a strip at the store, I hated it! Ugh so bad. However, I did ask for a sample because of all the positive reviews here. On skin, at first, it was OK. Definitely not as bad as on paper! Then I started to like it. Bought a full-size bottle and now... am completely in love with it! It's a soft kind of vanilla but not sweet. A mysterious, sultry smell, not heavy though. Hard to describe but so intruiging! Pretty unique and definitely here to stay. One of my faves!

Moody and whimsical, fitting for a fairy or witch in a dark fantasy movie. The ad is quite misleading imo, this is not a femme fatale, sexy fragrance. It has a more introverted character and gives off a slightly gloomy and melancholic vibe. Breathtakingly beautiful 🥀 I wish Givenchy would stop with the endless boring l’Interdit flankers and give us an new elixir version of this beauty instead. This fragrance has one of my favorite vanilla and tonka scents! Its sweet and dark at the same time. I prefer to wear it on the fall and winter months, it may be overpowering on the hot weather, especially if you live in tropical areas, like me. It has amazing longevity and excellent sillage. A compliment magnet. I've read complaints about a possible reformulation on this one. I bought my bottle last year and for me, it didn't change much. Defininetly one of my top 5 perfumes!

Beautiful vanilla fragrance. I looove the opening. The safran is strong with the beautiful vanilla and lily. The dry down is powdery and the tonka bean is stronger. The dry down leans a little bit more mature, but its a beautiful scent. 30 years hold woman can wear it, but 20 its a little bit young for this I think. The sillage and longevity is very good (my coat smell gor a week!!). I think you can wear it all year round. In the summer it will be better at night :)

I keep coming back to this one after so many years. It's so different, so seductive in a subtle way. i have so many memories attached to this one, but unlike other fragrances i just can't wear anymore because of the memories they evoke, this one feels like a soft and kind reminder of the past, but it has grown with me, it's been there with me through all the times, and i come back to it because it feels more like me than anything else i've had in my collection

I sprayed it on my hair - traditionally to get the most "clean" version - and what did I find??? The first impression of "PALAZZO" FENDI I look at the authors of the fragrance and see Jean-Pierre Bethouart (author of PALAZZO) I can say that this fragrance is almost as solemn. I wouldn't waste it on a daily basis. Although, of course, FENDI is much brighter, and i can say Ange ou Demon - this is its intimate version, less flowers and more vanilla. Beautiful 👌💎

Warm, spicy, super sexy.. pretty much the ultimate in feel-just-amazing, confident scents. I love, love, LOVE this!! Seductive and feminine but with essence of pure raw power.. sound a bit of a mixed bag? It truly is, but WOW is this one hell of a fragrance! Incredible blend and simply sublime!! Not for the faint hearted, yet still infinitely wearable. If you like warm spicy it's likely a safe blind buy, but if you get the chance it is SO worth checking out!

I have been floating around Ange ou Démon pretty much since its release, when I was still too young to be able to afford my own bottles. Many years have passed, and yet I have always found reasons to not take AoD home with me, until a few days ago when I saw one of my usual suppliers carried them on sale. At last! There's a reason I kept coming back to that one, from the dark vanilla garden to the bottle design, the whole thing is absolutely gorgeous!

A chalky vanilla with a little mystery. A dry, aromatic gourmand. No cupcakes here - this smells like somebody infused body lotion with vanilla beans. It's elegant and clean. I definitely agree that it's ideal for winter, however I do think that it could be pulled off year-round especially for a summer evening social event. It's something like Hypnotic Poison but without the almond and coconut, or Kenzo Amour with a little more depth.

I was obsessed with this one when I was 18, and even now, 15 years later, I still find it absolutely breathtaking. I love everything about it, the name, the bottle, and above all, the juice! It’s a complex, mature perfume with a tonka-vanilla base. It’s sweet and powdery, but it has this airy quality to it that makes it easy to wear during the day too. It’s definitely a confident woman’s perfume and screams old money to me.

smells divine!! i tested it out in sephora and when i first sprayed it i was like what is this weird smell. but when it settled down a little, it turned into this comforting, alluring smell which had a little blood scent in it (im not kidding with this one). it smells exactly like the name. reminds me of a fallen angel who hasnt lost her hypnotic allure. pure and angelic but has a mysterious, dark, esoteric aura to it.

I really liked this one and got complimented for it quite often, though I remember a coworker saying it smells like jam cake. I find it not too sweet, very feminine, sensual, maybe a tad bit heavy, which is why it obviously a cool weather fragrance IMO.Good projection and longevity, lovely powdery vanilla dry down. Prob worth a test before purchasing though, it is somewhat of a less safe choice due to its uniqueness.

I love this fragrance, I always have a bottle. I find it uplifting, it clears my mind . To me this is a wonderful aromatic blast, followed by the best lily scent I came across, then the top notes returns creating a classy blend ! It is strong , it takes it time to develop and last for ever. It is unique, so I agree, this is not a safe blind buy ! Then again, if you like aromatic scents, this smells like heaven !

I’ve had this scent linger in my nostrils days after I tested it in the store. That never happened to me with a perfume before so I had to get the bottle, it’s very classy and fresh, however I wouldn’t say it’s a safe blind buy. Gorgeous blend of all the notes and THAT PERFORMANCE... it lasts like 12 hours and it has strong silage. You can pretty much wear it whenever no matter the season or part of day.

Ange ou Demon This scent takes me on a journey through time. When I close my eyes, I am transported to a mysterious castle made of stone. Everything is damp, foggy and gray, but the scent of licorice and powdery spices fill the air. A mysterious concoction that can only be made by magic.
