Dahlia Divin Le Nectar de Parfum

This is gorgeous! While deb.m is correct that no discussion of the notes is necessary, I will bring it up just because, even though I know I am no expert, rarely am I this off base with regards to notes. I turned . . . 29 a couple of days ago, and I received DDLN as a gift. Anyway, the opening - DDLN boldly filled the room. That alone is a refreshing trend reversal. I could have sworn, SWORN, that the predominate notes were some sort of peach-apricot jam and balsamic vanilla. Small consolation that I was right about the vanilla - and a lovely, mature vanilla it is; a perfume vanilla, not niche cookies-out-of-the-oven, or vanilla extract from your cupboard. I suppose what I was interpreting as apricot/peaches and cream is the combination of the mimosa and the vanilla. Mimosa is one of the notes that I still do not feel like I have a good handle on. This next part may seem critical, but it really isn't. The top, mimosa, and the bottom, vanilla and woods, are very powerful. As a result, the jasmine/rose center gets quite buried. Honestly, I'm quite okay with that; that note combination as been pretty well explored already. I didn't miss it. I would say, if anything, the 'middle' is musk, vanilla and sandalwood - this is the only part I am a little iffy on; sandalwood and I have a challenging relationship. The tail of this perfume is a dark, quiet, elegant vetiver, a completely different vibe than the opening. It lasts 12+ hours. In the face of new regulations and shifting social norms, some companies retreat and water down their offerings. Givenchy goes bold. I was very glad to get this. It's beautiful, the bottle is simply stunning, and I would never have thought to select it for myself.

Dahlia Divin Le Nectar de Parfum opens on a strong, sweet floral note, which I assume is the mimosa (I am not yet familiar with this note). Pressing my nose to my wrist, it is a little powdery and almost overpowering. It would certainly be suffocating in very hot conditions. Smelling closely, I pick up a dry, slightly musty note, a little bitter, which I think must be the vetiver. I seem to pick this smell up in some fragrances I've tried that contain vetiver. It has ruined a few of them for me, but in Le Nectar, it is definitely not a deal breaker, since this phase doesn't last long and it doesn't manifest too aggressively. Le Nectar settles so beautifully, sweet but elegant, rich and creamy and warm. This is no gourmand vanilla. It is a golden sweetness, sophisticated and grown-up. I'd been hoping to own one of the Dahlia Divin fragrances since I sampled the EDP, EDT, and Le Nectar a few months ago, when I immediately fell in love with them. To the best of my memory, they are closely related, and any one of them would have been good enough for me. I am so happy I was able to score a very slightly used bottle of Le Nectar at such a great price! It is one of my favorite full bottle buys!

For me,this is more a fall,winter fragrance(also can make a great night perfume for warmer months) ,a great one.I'd definitely buy it for this fall and highly recommend everyone to try it. It reminded me original dahlia divin but they're different enough to have them both.dahlia divin le nectar stands out among all the other perfumes I tested today.it's warm and sensual,powdery creamy.it's vanilla-jasmine combo reminded me Jean Paul gaultier classique intense as it's mentioned in review of Germany,but it's not as jasmine-centered as classique intense.dahlia divin le nectar has a great powdery floral accord grounded by sweet,creamy,a tad dark woods and vanilla.it's delicious in an adult way.another thing that I like about it is it's fresh,clean,powdery quality which we don't usually see in sweet,balsamic scents.Longevity and sillage are both satisfying and it's bottle is very elegant and eye catching.givenchy is one of my favorite perfume brands and didn't disappoint me again.it's only down side is that it's veryyy expensive here. 2.5 oz bottle has more than 90$ price tag which is exactly twice as it's price in other countries!! If they sell it with it's true price I will buy it ASAP

This is beautiful! Very familiar and comforting. It's not groundbreaking or especially unique but it is very loveable and easy to wear. Very summery and warm but could be worn year round, day or night. This may become one of my new signature scents - it reminds me of other perfumes but not any one specific scent, more like the combination of all the best feminine perfumes I have ever smelled coming back to me at once. It is somehow not generic, despite it not being unique. It smells very expensive and is very well blended. I get tonka, vanilla, sandalwood and then the beautiful floral blend of mimosa, rose and jasmine. It is very feminine and soft, I would say this is a quite grown up scent but could be worn by anyone mid 20s or above. Wouldn't be right for teenagers, more of a classy adult scent. Very sensual and sexy but not in an obvious way. The silliage is OK, it's not a beast but does leave a nice trail - the magic is up close though! It's one of those scents you want to keep leaning in to smell more of. Delicious! It was a bit hard to find a good price though I will definitely keep my eyes out for a big bottle because I'm in love with it!

I'm not a fan of sweet perfumes, but I'm digging this. It is very very sweet but it works here because it's supposed to be like a golden honey nectar, so how else can this be anything else? It starts with a bubble gum white flower explosion, but it dries down fairly quickly. Overall this is soft, cushy, supple and warm and never cloying or obnoxious. As it stays with you, you get little whiffs of rich honeyed candy surround you. This is the type of fragrance that makes people lean in to get a better sniff, so this can be classified as "sexy" in my book. But this is expensive smelling and refined and not vulgar in the least. Classy, sophisticated and elegant can all be used to describe this. I found a 1 oz bottle for next to nothing on line, but I can see this skyrocketing in value if this ever gets discontinued. This is definitely one to keep you eye on if you see it at a bargain. It's that good.

Dahlia Divin le Nectar de Parfum does not stand in my usual alley, scent-wise. I tend to prefer more unisex fragrances, but this one has steadily grown on me and now I just find it absolutely intoxicating! The mimosa is predominant here, and if I can detect other notes, they are blended so tightly together that none really stands out. This powerful scent loses its intensity after an hour or so and remains pretty linear throughout. It projects nicely, but maybe a little too much for a school or work setting. On my skin the scent lasts forever (8-10 hours). Le Nectar seems to be a "statement" fragrance. Albeit sweet, it is also mature, strong, and bold. I think this is what I like so much about this offering, it's mature without smelling dated. It has the others Givenchy's Dahlia Divin DNA, but with an added creaminess and un je ne sais quoi that sets it appart. One of my favorite scent.

This was a love at first sniff for me. Elevated, powdery (but not too powdery) mimosa floral with this intoxicating undertone of tonka bean. Projection is rather soft but the trail this leaves has gotten several men to comment (sometimes too) positively. Longevity is pretty great as well: 6+ hours. This is a ladylike fragrance that is still sexy but not vulgar. This would be great for a first date, dinner, evening work events, etc. Although I think evening with DDLN, this is one of the most season-less, versatile frags I own. She's always appropriate IMO. For as long as I can find this, she'll be in my collection.

Love this one. Lots of mimosa Jasmine and rose to my nose , it's sweet and fresh at the same time. Like" right out of the shower" smell. Very aromatic and Really attractive. Similar vibe to calssique intense ( gold bottle ) to my nose. Like a Jasmine vanilla scent. Although the mimosa is very dominant. Childlike , fresh and sweet. Bonus my husband likes it. Update ,,,it gets less sweet and the soapiness comes out even more. You get whiffs of vetiver and musk and a fresh out of the shower feel for hours. It has its own character at this point it doesn't remind me of another perfume but rather a very expensive soap.

Mmmmmmmmimosa! This is truly a sparking vanilla floral. I've tried the original, but this one has something special. It's brighter and sunnier and the mimosa truly plays the starring role. It's an amazing oriental floral with a glorious base of vanilla, tonka and sandalwood. Smooth, creamy at drydown but the mimosa remains the star. It's summery, not sweet, perfectly balanced so it's not too flowery. I love the drydown - a bit powdery with a hint of roses. Gorgeous bottle, great projection and longevity - well worth the buy. An all season easily unisex scent - sensuous touch of musk. Mimosa perfection.

I wasn't going to buy any more perfumes -- I'm so happy with my little collection where Coco Noir and Shalimar Parfum Initial are the stars -- but the other day I tried Dahlia Divin le Nectar in the store and I ADORE it. The first sniff from the paper was ecstatically sunny. I guess I like mimosa. Yes, it is sweet, but my skin turns everything woody/spicy, so on me it's kind of like a sweetening-up of sandalwood, never harsh, just creamy golden silk. I also love the bottle, which is a factor for me, not gonna lie. I think I'm going to delete everything off my want list except Dahlia Divin le Nectar!

One of my favourite perfumes ever. It's creamy, elegant, and rich. This is always my number one and go to perfume. The only time it's not is for nights out when I want something widly sexy. I work in a department store and let me tell you this is my MOST complimented perfume by customers. I've lost count of the amount of times I've been cashing out a customer and they commented on how lovely or beautiful I smell. I've also been asked a few times if I'm wearing Youth Dew by Estee Lauder. I've never smelled that one but I guess they smell similar if people are asking me that!

A blind purchase. Bought it cos it's cheap. Someone was trying to sell it away cos it was gifted. I read the reviews and purchased it. I love this sooooo much! Reading the reviews I was a little worried about the longevity but I sprayed some at 10pm last night and it's 8am and I can still smell it. So it's awesome. It opens with pretty floral and dries down to yummy vanilla, Tonka. It's just sooo pretty and classy. This has been discontinued in my country. And I hunted down the last one that I can find in 50ml. So now I have 2 bottles of 50ml. I will treasure them.

Yowza, this is dynamite! So French, so chic, so classy and yet at the same time, so accessible! This is a golden beauty (ahh, sweet Mimosa, there you are my love!) with tonka bean, sandalwood and jasmine embracing her lovingly while a perfect hint of vetiver comes to inject a cool touch to keep the warm trio from smothering its own flame. Sorry to sound pseudo-poetic, but this caught me so off-guard! A definite holy grail delight for more formal occasions, I wouldn't dare wear this to my place of work, except well maybe to cause a stir LOL! Divin en effet!

I love wearing this perfume during warm summer nights when I have my white dress on and my skin is tanned and glowing. It's a creamy sweet, simple scent - dare I say people pleaser. No screechy note here. I get tons of compliments whenever I wear it (which is always nice). Projection is quite good for the first hour, longevity is not the best on my skin. I feel the need to reaply every two hours, but I love the initial blast so much that I don't honestly mind. Definitely my favorite from the Dahlia Divin line.

I sprayed this on for the first time in recent memory, and I immediately felt this sense of home, specifically late high school in the 90s. It’s not a specific scent memory, but a general impression, though I can kind of imagine if you were to layer Nina Ricci Deci Dela with Coty Vanilla Fields, there might be a resemblance. Anyway, I love this perfume, and I will treasure the amount I still have, which is about 2/3 of a 30 ml bottle.

I can't recall a Givenchy scent I've ever disliked. They do perfume so well,and this is no exception. It's a walk in an exotic garden on a warm spring day, surrounded by the heady scent of abundant creamy mimosa warmed by a golden sun, with a hint of jasmine and rose carried on a light breeze. I think this would translate really well into an evening fragrance too, just applied more liberally. A truly luxury EDP.

This perfume is divine very well named and it is like the nectar of the gods it is gorgeous and floral yet warm and sensuous at the same time. Every time I wear it people definitely notice it's beautiful scent is hard not to miss. It has great silage it lasts all day on me and bottle is beautiful too hard not to like this one I give it a 10/10 it is divine in every sense of the word.

This perfume is heaven. Simply divine. I can't describe what it smells like but it smells expensive; exquisite. If I could name this perfume it would be "champagne". I imagine a beautiful woman in a long gold dress at a special event. I think this is suitable for anyone who, not necessarily to wear as a signature scent though. This is very special, I will be purchasing again.

This is heavenly...but seriously overpriced. The perfume is delicious but does not project. The original one have much more sillage, and honestly, this one is not that different in terms of smell. I think it is an unnecessary flanker. I like the original one better, it is more luminous and not powdery like this one. But both are rich, elegant sweet perfumes.

This is nice, for a while at least. The scent reminds me of when I used to layer JLO Live with a vanilla sandalwood narcissus perfume (the now discontinued Vanilla Creme Fleur by Voluspa). Nectar has a beautiful mimosa note which unfortunately is only in the top/middle of development. I love the beginning of Nectar, but the drydown is only so-so.

Beautiful scent, smells of caramel and mimosa (probably tonka and vanilla accord that gives a smoky tone to the vanilla), sweet but not cloyingly so.Lasts for 7/8 hours with moderate to heavy sillage for the first 3 hours. Much better on my skin than the others of the Divin line. Truly elegant perfume.

I just bought this after telling the sales lady that I was looking for something a bit sexy for a night out with my husband. This fragrance does not disappoint. It's sweet, floral and very warm and cozy. I love this scent for winter when it's cooler out. It's absolutely divine.

I've always wanted to find a perfume that reminds of perfumeries - that exotic ether that I just can't pin-point in one specific bottle. Until now. I think this may be it! Warm and deep, with a typical (so I think) Givenchy edge that keeps it from being too sweet or cloying.

I’m not a sweet perfume fan, except Creed Virgin Island Water and this baby! It’s sooo elegant and sophisticated, so different as well! My friend has this and whenever we meet and hug I’m blown away how good this perfume is! Very soft but gives a real statement! ☝🏽

Just got this bottle today its smells almost identical to Miss Dior Le Parfum! The powdery vanilla mixes well with the Mimosa. It settles nicely on the skin with a good projection. I love this!

I love this fragrance, it's classy, not too strong, rich yet not too sweet, stays all day. Very nice to wear. I had a sample and had to get the bottle! The bottle looks great as well!

This is very nice. Great for winter. It's long-wearing, like Organza. I definitely smell the vanilla and mimosa. On the heavy side, but I like that.

I was in the oil and gas industry for a good 2 years. and work mostly on site, this perfume performs well in hot and humid places. sillage is good

This has that grape candy smell that I love so much

In my first year of college, I chose this scent at a department store. I liked Givenchy scents then, notably Hot Couture and, to a lesser extent, Organza. I was initially drawn to DDLN because of the beautiful bottle, and the sweet floral scent within smelled sophisticated to me then. I preferred it to the original Dahlia Divin - if memory serves, the original was louder and sweeter, with a prominent syrupy peach note, housed in a plain bottle. Le Nectar is a little like J'Adore Dior L'Absolu in comparison to the original - a little more expensive and refined. It has a prominent mimosa note which doesn't feature in the original. DDLN opens with sweet, powdery mimosa, beautifully rendered. There are sweet, fruity notes in there as well - I get something akin to mandarin and peach - while a slight woodiness in the background grounds the sweetness nicely. The mimosa-centred opening is the best part of DDLN. As it develops, it becomes a run-of-the-mill sweet floral concoction. A white floral accord blooms on my skin, sweet and creamy. The jasmine note is clean, if synthetic, and some powdery sweet rose is in there as well. It is very powdery and sweet, becoming all the sweeter as the vanilla note emerges. Some woody and soft spicy notes creep in as it dries down, fading eventually to a sweet, powdery skin scent with a hint of clean musk. Sillage is moderate, while longevity is fairly strong, as is often the case with modern sweet vanilla scents. Apart from the mimosa opening, DDLN is nothing special, and is one of many mass-market sweet vanilla florals. I would stick with Cinéma, my floral-vanilla scent of choice, instead. Too sweet and generic for me, but not bad if you like this sort of thing. Better than the original. 2/5.

I picked up a 1.7 oz bottle for pennies from an Ebay seller who sells warehouse damaged bottles of perfume. The fragrance is 100% intact, though the beautiful bottle lacks a cap and has some scratches. I am going off of a single spray to the top of my hand, and it is very potent - a mimosa bomb! I thought I detected some sort of berry-like tartness, or cassia. If memory serves me correctly, I think that cassia leaf and mimosa are related, so that might explain it. I am almost positive that I have previously sampled this and enjoyed it more than I am right now. Not that it's bad or that I don't like it, because I do. It's just not the type of fragrance I normally gravitate towards. Now that it is softening up, I am getting that contradictory creamy powderiness some fragrances possess and it's becoming more beautiful. Someone mentioned a licorice note (from the tonka?) and I am definitely getting that and enjoying it. The vanilla and sandal are also making their presence known, and it supports the mimosa nicely. The other notes have not yet revealed themselves, but this has yet to even begin drying down. My initial takeaway is that I need to be cautious with fragrances starting mimosa. Some, such as Byzantine by Rochas, take my breath away. Others - the ones that smell close to cassia - need to be approached more cautiously. If the direction DDlN is now taking is any indication, I can see myself liking this very much. It is becoming softer and cozied. I think it will be more suited for the fall and winter. This is a quite satisfactory quasi-blind buy with great potential for the cooler months.

I am wearing this right now and man is it super sweet! Lucky for me I love sweet perfumes but if you don't like super sweet fragrances do not buy this one. This is a powdery sweet mimosa that is covered w/ tonka dust and super candy sweet vanilla. So, imagine a field of yellow flowers and yellow flowering bushes that are even sweeter than they would be in nature. That is what this Perfume smells like to me. It's like yellow flower candy. This perfume is probably a bit too young for a woman my age, I am 51 but I like it and will wear it anyway. I don't know why Givenchy would discontinue this range. I didn't buy the original, but I decided to buy this, the Nude and Initial. The original has patchouli which I love but it seems so many fragrances have loads of patchouli in the base now and I wanted to get fragrances that use other base notes w/ out all of the patchouli. I know they probably won't last as long but this one seems to being going pretty strong w/ only 1 spray. I am very pleased w/ this line and think they shouldn't be discontinued, especially since the newer fragrances they have been releasing haven't impressed me very much. Edit: The more I smell this the more it has a tropical vibe. It is a rich complex perfume. At 1st I thought it would be for cold weather but now I am thinking it is a year-round perfume. My husband loves this stuff, and it would be a perfect date night fragrance.

Dahlia Divine le Nectar is A little similar for me to manifesto of YSL. To my nose, I pick some similarities. It’s project well And it’s long lasting DDLN, is a perfect perfume for a classy beautiful woman, perfect for day wear But it bloom in Cold nights Dahlia noir was my favorit Perfume until they discontinue the production i recognise the dahlia DNA this one is the sexy auntie alway well dressed with gold jewellery and you can know she’s here buy her perfume and her loud voice, in the same time she’s a classy person who know how to deal with other peoples

I owned the original Dahlia divin EDP, EDT and now this one. I wanted to love the first two but something just bothered me, a sour intense bitter? Floral note? Im not sure, but its in every flanker and its not Jasmine. Possibly mimosa that is if there is mimosa in the first 2 and its just not listed. Moving on, THIS is my favourite and one that works for me. The intense florals are softened and sweetened with vanilla and tonka. It smells sophisticated and feminine. A crowd pleaser and compliment getter but definitely not boring. One spray is enough if you plan on being close with someone as this has perfect strength. A new elegant love of mine.

Smooth tonka with creamy vanilla, with the sweetness from the flowers which does gives the vibe of "nectar" (without the usual sweetness from fruity or sugary notes). The top note of mimosa gives a fuzzy radiance vibe and I do get the sweet floral notes in the first 20 min or so, before it dries down to a comforting sweet tonka and vanilla base. The dry-down reminds me of Hypnotic Poison EDT but the 2 perfumes do not smell alike. Overall a very pleasant and comforting grown-up's sweet perfume, feels like a hug, suitable for any day of the year as long as it is not hot. A nice creation by Francois Demachy!

The first 30 minutes or so screams enough sugar and sweetness to bring on a diabetic coma. I dislike sweet fragrances, they’re mainly suitable for very young girls in my opinion, but to each their own, Eventually the sugar overload dissipates and what’s left is a pleasant enough air of something. Can’t identify what flowers are represented, nor am I getting powdery, and certainly nothing balsamic. It’s a like at this stage. If I had the opportunity to have tried this before buying I probably would have resisted the purchase.

I purchased this after falling in love with a sample spray at Sephora. It's not quite what I remember, but lovely. There is a fruity cherry note in the beginning that I swear smells like cherry Ludens lozenges. And powder. It wasn't what I remembered nor do I see anyone mentioning anything like that in other reviews. The 'cherry' has faded and it's a warmer powdery very feminine scent now that seems pleasant but not really a good match for my skin chemistry. Will be returning this.

Sweet vanilla and very mellow. Smells identical to Max Mara, I own them both. If you want a more bargain perfume then go for Max Mara because its 95% same. I blind-bought this and it is very pleasant and nice. I guess I expected a liiiiittle more, but I will definitely wear it until the bottle in empty :)

This opens with way too much powder for my personal taste and it feels too heavy. But that does settle fairly quickly and it softens into a nice, sweet floral. I found myself liking it more and more as the day wore on. Nothing groundbreaking or super complex but it is truly lovely.

Nice fragrance, very warm and sweet in a good way. A bit woody too. Very pleasant scent, I have no bad emotions when I smell it. It really smells like divine nectar, just as the name says. I liked the Dahlia Divin EDP better, but this is also very-very good!

Going to see if I can get away with making this my work/professional scent. I like it a lot. It feels mature but not old, sweet but balanced, and feminine. It also has a hint of sexiness to it. Very much me! Will update after a week to see how it goes.

It's very sweet. Lots of vanilla! Later it starts to be deeply oriental. Lots of sandalwood too. I really like it, but I can't smell much of any flowers - rose or mimosa or jasmine. Therefore, it's only a like. Impressive bottle though.
