Eaudemoiselle de Givenchy Extravagant

I blind bought a used bottle of this after I lurked it from another users profile. Absolute blind buy success! Such an excellent quality fragrance. Sexy dark goth flower garden vibes. Long lasting. Good projection. Ingredients smell quality. Has a candy floral vibe. The tuberose is present but it smells different here than it does in many other tube frags I’ve collected over the years, it isn’t the carnal flower type of tuberose nor is it Amarige. It’s a bit more “cool and wet” sultry and dark. There’s a dominant sweet vanilla with a dash of warm spice. I get nothing medicinal at all. The patchouli is very very turned down, I’d liken it to about the strength and the type of scent the patchouli has in Black Opium. It doesn’t even register to my nose as patchouli unless I really try to analyze it. I’d probably keep this in my collection forever if it weren’t discontinued. I already ordered a backup. This might be best enjoyed by fans of mysterious dark florals with slightly goth vibes. It also comes off as a little boozy. I will say I never understand reviewers who claim one spray of a tuberose perfume is “beast mode” or fills the room or is suffocating. Tuberose is my favorite because it’s so soft and delicate compared to other florals. I wear a lot of tuberose fragrances and most people don’t claim to smell them on me until they’re very close. This scent isn’t a “one spray beast” or anything to that effect. It performs as well as most other quality fragrances I own. It radiates within arms reach. I spray a bit heavier to get 6ish hours. Only a strong skin scent after that and may need to respray. Maybe if you’re highly sensitive to tuberose it may be too strong for you, but otherwise it’s a very standard “quality” performer with a lovely fragrance that isn’t actually as shocking, different, or completely unique as some of the reviews may make you believe. That said, I do love it and wearing it feels cozy, like I’m wearing my favorite sweater. A black sweater. And I’m thrilled it isn’t an “airy molecule” scent as I’m not into spending money on perfumes I can’t smell or that come off like household cleaning products. Please bring this back! And L’Ange Noir! Seriously all the best goth scents are being discontinued or reformulated so we can have 5000 different vanilla pear, citrus musk, or marshmallow scents instead (facepalm).

Exceptional jammy tuberose-vanilla patch combo that lasts for ages. Super comforting, warm and alluring. Although this is a statement perfume, it’s not a challenging one at all. Personally, it’s something I often reach for when I’m indecisive. It wears easily from day to night, but it works better during cold weather. I’m not a big fan of tuberose, but I just can’t get enough of this one.

The tuberose dominates with a vengeance for about 30 minutes then it dries down to most amazing vanilla with the other notes supporting. I love it.

Beautifully dark tuberose that turns into a spicy vanilla and worth every penny. A masterpiece indeed IMHO.

This is a beast perfume, a “I love to hate the medicinal note present so strongly in this scent but yet, I am still wearing it” kind of perfume. That medicinal (patchouli???) kick puts me off mostly, however it is something unique and beautiful about this perfume that makes me go back to it again and again. If that cloying weird note would have been tamed down (not replaced, just more relaxed) I think this could have had the potential of being one of my favorite perfumes of all times. It is still one of my favorite perfumes right now, just not “the one”. Definitely nobody or almost nobody will smell like you around when wearing it. I would purchase this again when mine will be over...All in all, I still love it!!!

This opens up very sweet on me. The spices come out after about 10-15 minutes it is a very pretty scent that will be perfect in the cooler months of fall and winter.

Ah, Tuberose! This is a gorgeous note that can be hit or miss for me. This fragrance is absolutely high-quality, long lasting and beautiful. For the right chemistry it would be perfect. For my taste it ends up being too sweet, cloying and borders on headache-inducing. I wish it was a little mellower and more balanced by the woodsy notes, but it's a strong too-sweet/high octave Tuberose/Vanilla mix that doesn't calm down for quite awhile. The drydown is fabulous but by the time it gets there I nearly have a headache. For the record I have a HIGH tolerance for all perfume and it's been many years since I have encountered something like this that will actually give me pain. Unfortunately I couldn't sample before buying because the Sephora stores don't carry it, so I had to blind buy to try the scent and will have to return it.

oh wow that spicy tuberose...mmm...perfectly fit me, very "warm" fragrance, on the edge of cloyingness but not really. 100% evening/night. It reminded me of Cacharel Eden but I don't see it in recommendations? I feel like because I am a cold-skinned person I need some type of warm, cozy scents. Eden is kind of "cold" type of fragrance, while Extravagant is definitely warmed up by the hint of spices and feels really natural, not synthetic like Eden. Definitely not a blind buy though. I absolutely adore this sexy perfume. It is a sweet dark floral with serious lasting power. I smell vibes of Dior Poison and Dolce & Gabbana The One on my skin. This is definitely a cold weather fragrance due to it’s intensity. This says sex and power. The bottle is a chic matte black. I just wish this came in various sizes and travel roller balls as I am always on the go.

Though I love this fragrance, my skin chemistry doesn’t work with it...it smells cheap and medicinal. On paper though, it is so beautiful and vanillic... The Tuberose is present but only at intervals. This is a beast in terms of projection. Beautiful blend from a great house!

Love love love!! What a dark delicious sexy scent!! Very long lasting vanilla tuberose scent! The vanilla is not too sweet and dries down mellow. I usually suffocate with vanillas, but not this one. If you want something different, dark, and sexy, this is a statement maker.

Tuberose. Oh, tuberose. My favorite note. I hope this does not cost the earth. And I hope it has good longevity.

Very medicinal opening. Like a drawer full of old medications.
