Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Ambrée

Tested this first on the skin at the airport, as it really stood out against all the others, a feat in itself because to my nose everything tends to smell similar in that environment. As the fragrance developed, from the slight tobacco nuances to the amber, iris and vanilla accords, started to like it more and more. But wanted to make sure so ordered a sample, which confirmed my first impressions, this is a great, subtle, yet long lasting fragrance, perfect for close encounters, incredibly likeable, slightly sweet, smooth, with no rough edges and very pleasant throughout. Also very well balanced, not too powdery, nor spicy. Personally like it more than the other flankers in this line, and even more than Reserve Privé. Have now received my full bottle and will be enjoying it this autumn/winter but am already confident that this elegant yet subtle scent will garner compliments, it’s perfect for a suited up evening with a date or at a work event, which aims at being liked by everyone who gets next to you. Not to say this isn’t versatile, just don’t expect it to do well on hot summer days or when you want to announce yourself before you arrive. Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants to achieve a guaranteed good first impression.

Let’s start with saying the moment I sprayed this on a tester I loved the nice warm amber you get from the start, was unsure on how it would smell on my skin but I was not disappointed! This dry down is phenomenal quite unlike any other scent I have that has similar notes at the moment! I get a vanilla, creamy, amber/tobacco dry down and it lingers for quite some time and smells so good, if you are worried about a cloying dry down, no need to be! The longevity of this scent is fair, sprayed on skin at 3pm and now it’s 1am and it is still a skin scent, however for performance & projection I got at least a good 7hrs of arm length projection and the other 3 hours so far have been an intimate skin scent, creamy tobacco lingering. Overall I have to rate this a 9.5/10 if you like sweet/spicy fragrances, if that is your GOTO type of frag, this is one for you!! Compliments wise, first time I wore it (today 2/5/26) I went over to my aunts, as I gave her a hug to say goodbye she asked what cologne I was wearing and that she wanted to buy it for her youngest son (he’s getting into frags as well) so I have no doubt that this fragrance will be a compliment getter! There’s a reason it made it in fragranticas top 10 colognes of 2025!

I have a full bottle of this one, and I love it. It is such a complex nuanced release with very good performance, especially in terms of longevity. The opening starts close to the Extreme flanker, you can smell the vanilla, iris (despite not officially listed) and the vetiver. While the extreme continues to a vanilla, woods, and vetiver dry down this one diverges into a tobacco - vanilla dry down, with a mild vetiver note hanging in the background, just enough to prevent the scent profile from being generic or cloying. Think of the dry down as similar to a dry down of TF Tobacco Vanille, or Amouage Boundless, but the opening is more on the high-end designer side, and more mass appealing. There are a few reviewers online who don't bother getting a full bottle of a fragrance (this one included) and sample it from a 1 ml vile and give stupid ill-informed reviews about it, and also get mad when people call them on their error. One particular reviewers mentioned it didn't last four hours with him, well, this is the fourth wearing and every time it is well ABOVE 8 (10-12) hour range for me. I have zero regrets and I received my 100 ml bottle a week ago. Love it. (I own 500+ fragrances both designer and niche).

As a longtime fan of OG Gentleman, I was anticipating this release. I think this new flanker, Sociery EDP Ambree is even better because it goes into a more gourmand direction! Let me preface by saying that I love sweet, warm, highly resinous, tobacco vanilla, ambery perfume with a contrasting twist. In Gentleman EDP Ambree, that contrasting effect is produced by the inclusion of clary sage and juniper berries in the opening. And it’s beautifully done! It’s more than just a sickening sweet, resinous vanilla tobacco scent that might put you off! It’s still a buttery, soft and smooth perfume thanks to the orris root in the heart of the perfume, but has an aromatic, fresher edge. Is it objectively a good fragrance for those who like a sweet tobacco/vanilla perfume, with great performance and it’s pricier than the OG Gentleman, but if bought during a sale, it worth the extra money in my opinion! I will have to ask my husband’s input on this Gentleman EDP Ambree, but it might replace the original Gentleman in his collection. For fall and winter weather, this is even better. This is everything!

Finally caved and bought a bottle. Picked it up on a discounter for a great price. Having said that, It is now the proper season for this fragrance, and I have been putting it through its paces recently. I have to say, I wasn't overly impressed the first time I experienced this one. My second go was much better, revealing more of the transitions I hadn't noticed before. But the third time was the charm. I emptied the decant during my final days of testing and I was sold. The performance isn't mind-blowing, but it is acceptable for what I will be wearing it for. Casual stuff. Not too dressed up, and not shorts and a T-shirt (it is a Fall/Winter offering, after all). If I get 4 or 5 hours I'll be satisfied, as none of the Givenchy offerings have ever been powerhouses. Is it my favorite of the Society line? Well, I like the OG but not enough for a full bottle. Extreme had me hooked after the very first wear. So this is easily on par with the Extreme flanker. I wonder what they'll do next.... Edit: Sport. They’ll do a Sport flanker next....

I smelled this one at Ulta months ago and loved it, but waited for it to show up on discount sites to purchase. Just got my bottle and this is a really nice scent. It's elegant and distinct, great for cool weather and formal or intimate occasions. The notes I pick up most are nutmeg, iris, vetiver, tobacco and balsam. It has some sweetness, but it's not gourmand at all. It gives off a warm boozy ambery tobacco vibe, and interestingly to my nose has an almost licorice accord. Even though the iris adds a touch of that powdery feel, this one is rich and thick enough that it still feels substantial. It has a nice evolution, and I like the mid and the dry down (which is where the woods show up the most) even better than the opening. It lasts a long time on me but with only moderate projection which actually fits this kind of elegant scent profile. For some this may work best as a special occasion cologne, but if you are comfortable with a more sophisticated daily driver this can absolutely be a signature scent. Very good stuff indeed.

The first time I put my nose to this I was stunned (quite literally), I had sniffed the first 2 Society fragrances and although they were good i didn’t feel the “need” to add it to my collection, to me this fragrance develops beautifully and although it only lasts moderately long, sits pleasantly on your skin with minimal projection(only slightly better then DnG the One EDP), making it perfect for a date night situation, and also a beautiful layering combo if you wanted to make it more complex, it has that versatility and to me is the best Givenchy fragrance marketed for men since Reserve Privee in 2022 (which i had to buy a backup bottle of), it’s a remarkable scent for what it does and is quite unique, potentially signature scent worthy in the fall season. It may not get a lot of hype but trust me get your nose on it and spray this on skin (very important) so the warmth of the fragrance can be allowed to develop beautifully and settle comfortably. To my nose, an absolute must have.

This is a Fantastic Fragrance ! Woody, Warm, Floral, Tobacco, Ambery, Complex , Opulent and Sensual. You can't go wrong with it. I tried it at Sephora store and I fell in love with it at first sniff. It is on my Radar and I will buy it. Givenchy Society Ambree opens with up warm spicy, green and floral notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet vanilla, balsamic, tobacco and ambery. At first I saw it on Instagram then I tried it , It smells so good and very pleasant. It is suitable for cold weather. Longevity is good. The Tobacco, Amber, Narcissus and Vanilla notes are dominant in this perfume. In my opinion, One of the best releases of 2025 so far. Highly Recommended. Second Edit : Finally, I bought it from HOLT RENFREW OGILVY today. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection and It is a New Scent for this year 2025. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Givenchy! Initial review as it just rolled off the USPS truck... it has the Gentlemen powdery goodness behind it. Its very different than the rest of the Gentlemen line. Its slightly animalic. The amber is a low tone, but takes center stage. Its slightly boozy reminding me of Privee. It is blended to perfection! Each note can be distinguished yet none are overbearing at all. I only sprayed my wrists, but there isn't much projection at all. Surely that will be rectified in the coming months. I am looking forward to wearing it this winter! I think that I am going to love it as much as I love the rest of the line. This was a total blind buy, but Givenchy is near the top of my list as the 10 that I own are all 8.5+ aside from Boisee as that has zero performance, so the odds were in my favor. I wouldn't recommend blind buying unless you like the notes as what you see is what you get.

Oh waaw. Waaaw! Ok... I just received 100ml of this. I am... impressed. I miss Givenchy Play and other goodies that were discontinued, for pure nostalgia. The green triangular one... anyway, 1st spray is a wow. I will be back in few days and write my thoughts. Edit: I've been wearing this for the past days and... it's a tenner! A 10/10 for Givenchy and I am happy that they're BACK! This is for men, above 25yrs old... who are over the "ya'll should fear my stench, beast-mode activated" phase. This is for more subdued and sophisticated actions and situations... imagine a very tamed JPG Elixir, less screechy, rounded... It's very nice and reminds me soumhow of all the other Givenchy frags of the past, Play, Very Irresistible all... so it has the Givenchy signature. A 9/10 I wish it would project more, no, overspraying doesn't improve the prohection on this one.

"Dear father of my children" is the most common sentence woman say when I wear this opulent Givenchy If you cant find a girlfriend with this fragrance, it is time to look at other genders... Like come on, I am on the uglier side, but girls start to define physics when I wear Ambree, they multiply like a chemical reaction, its so easy to steal their bags because they are just stunned. Record me in the club while Ambree is applied on me and you can use the footage for a super glue commercial because dude... I am trying to catch a breath between a massive population of estrogen around me which just wont go away. What are you doing, sell those stinky fragrances in you closet which smell like a monkeys armpit and buy Ambree, literally a free promotion at your company, you are welcome! Fragrance of the Year 2025!

YES! This is it! Randomly tried this in a store and immediately went online to get a full bottle. Tobacco Vanille is my favourite fragrance ever, and this is as good. The dry down is maybe just slightly less impressive, but the opening is definitely even better than Tom Ford. It's more masculine. And this is basically a third of the price. It's SO worth it. It has a moderate projection but lasts for good 6 or 7 hours in this manner, it's smooth enough to be worn to an office but also interesting enough to be a good datenight choice. If you like tobacco in perfumery you HAVE TO try this. I think considering the price it's 10/10 for me, this might just be my new favourite.

For those stating that the fragrance smelled richer and sweeter when testing it out but leans more aromatic and light once they get a brand new tester - I’ve had the same experience! What you’re smelling from the perfume stores is the smell that developed long after the scent was first opened. When I got my 60ml bottle I was a bit disappointed as well with the more fresh leaning smell. Although I didn’t dislike it, after 3 to 4 months of use it started gaining back that heavier smell I loved. So if you like this perfume but you’re having doubts regarding that, go buy a bottle and enjoy the beautiful evolution of this smell - I promise it gets better with each use

This one's a really attention grabbing 2025 release. The opening is louder compared to the OG and Extreme versions. Its so well blended and after the drydown , approximately 6-7 hrs ( yes,it has a beast-mode performance) after applying on my skin, it becomes a delicious skin scent that every person around me described differently but is still noticable. Got really surprised by how long it lasts on and off the skin. If you spray it on clothes its still noticable after washing them. Warm and inviting scent, but not a safe blind buy i'd say. Overall a sexy and cozy fall/winter fragrance with a true gentleman identity that i will always keep in my collection.

I usually can’t stand tobacco notes in my fragrances but this is incredibly good. It seems to be sweeter than others but what stands out is how smooth it is. It is incredibly smooth. This feels like the perfect blend of all the notes. Nothing clashes with each other and it just blends so well. Nice and sweet, but still very masculine. One of the few tobacco, woody, fragrances that I think a younger guy can pull off, not just an older guy. While this smells like many other designers and it’s not going to change the game, this is incredibly good because of how smooth all the notes are, and how it’s a tad sweeter which makes it stand out. I love it.

This is one of the best designer fragrances I’ve come across. It smells rich, daring, unique, and carries a niche-like quality. While it leans more toward a winter or cooler-weather scent, it would still be an excellent choice for a date night any time of year. Performance is impressive, great projection, sillage, and longevity with no faults to note. I actually prefer this over Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Mancera Red Tobacco, and I enjoy both of those. When it comes to tobacco scents, my top picks would be this or Xerjoff Naxos, but this one edges ahead thanks to its better value. Overall: 9/10, absolutely full-bottle worthy.

This smells amazing. I get compliments all day long wearing this. More, I do not get sick of it myself. Its like a golden cloud around you. There's something rich and comforting about this. It doesn't remind me of the other Society's. It reminds me more of YSL La Nuit De L'Homme if anything but it's still different from that. You can ignore the, "This fragrance reminds me of" section above. It doesn't smell like any of the fragrances listed as of today's date. Maybe in the future Fragrantica readers will get closer to figuring out others that are more similar.

Update... so I couldn't wait a couple of months for it to get cold. I wore it this evening to work. 2 sprays on each arm, 2 on the neck and 2 on the shirt... its a true beast mode fragrance. I am talking the room filling kind! It puts you in a beautiful scent bubble for 6 hours. I will be going a little easier on the trigger next time for sure. The amber is more robust when you overspray. This is a properly named colonge for sure. It just might take over as my favorite Givenchy. I am going to have to give Privee and EDT Intense another run soon to see. 9/10!

Final thoughts after testing 5ml. It's a very balsamic, floral woody scent. Has a strong church incense note, but done in a very commercial and safe way. Iris is subdued but noticable. I do find it to be a grown up scent. Despite being very specific it is also suitable for every day wear on colder days. Performance is great, gets noticed easily, lasts the whole day. Apply beneath clothing for the best effect. I do prefer it slightly over edp, but edp is perhaps more wearable in terms of weather. I enjoyed it and I would buy a bottle when fall comes back.

This fragrance is incredibly smooth, everything is blended to perfection and compliments each other very well. The opening has the staple vetiver-narcissus accord found in the gentleman society line. The tobacco in the opening also leans more earthy. As it dries down, the vanilla and juniper berries emerge as well as the orris, adding a slight sweetness to balance it all out and giving it a soft, powdery note. In the dry down the tobacco is supported by the balsam which adds depth with everything else rounding out the profile making it incredibly smooth.

Opens fresh, powdery, has musk and vanilla. It's dry, has woody notes. Turns warm-spicy; notes of coffee, caramel. The scent darkens, has aromas of chocolate, spices, possibly leather? Some iris, tiramisu, then pleasant amber-woods. A phantom "buttery" note. Base is chocolate-patchouli. Performance is great, top projection and lasts on skin for hours. Modern fragrance, masculine, good for all ages 20+. Best for autumn and winter, day or night, and would make a fantastic date scent! Smells great on skin but divine in the air. In a word, excellent!

Decant Test #4 This is the best of the bunch among my decants so far, and it suits my olfactory taste perfectly. Not sweet or nauseating at all pure class, with well‐chosen and beautifully blended notes. I can’t exactly pick out the individual opening notes accurately yet, but it still smells amazing. The opening blast is sooo good and lasts for at least an hour. After that, it leans more toward tobacco and vanilla, which is just as enjoyable. Performance is above average. I’ll definitely grab at least a 60ml bottle to add to my winter rotation.

I’m honestly blown away by this fragrance. Gentleman Society Ambrée is such a perfect mix of warm, slightly rough notes that just feel made for winter. The longevity is solid and the sillage makes it stand out in the best way. The drydown really does it for me, It brings to mind Swedish gingerbread cookies "skånska pepparkakor". Rich, deep, spicy-sweet, but with a rougher edge that gives it so much character. I only had a tester and it disappeared way too fast, so a full bottle is a must for this winter. For me, this one’s a straight 10/10.

Finally got my hands on a bottle, all I gotta say is one word, masterpiece, to start you don't really pick any of the notes perse at least for me, it blends so smooth, one of the smoothest, no harsh notes just a creamy, boozy, ambery, and a touch smoky. Another Top of all time for me, and another win on Givenchy's side. Projection is on the moderate side, and stays that way for a really long time, 12+ hours longevity and as of the time of this review, overall, try it, I find it quite unique, and I've smelled a handful of fragrance's

Feels like a warm embrace. I enjoyed the peru balsam; combined with vanilla, it was just incredibly comforting. The freshness of vetiver and narcissus helped to balance out the sweetness from the base notes. I particularly appreciated the tobacco; on me, it was an alluring, spicy leather nuance. Extremely long lasting! I had some on my hands and I could still smell the vanilla after 2 hand washes. The next day, I used 5 sprays in the shower and boy, it lasted in the air like 4,5 hours afterwards.

This develops so beautifully into a far more interesting version its flanker status may suggest. I love all Givenchy’s Gentlema(e)n so this was a confident blind buy which didn’t disappoint: richly complex, well rounded, masculine, modern. It wears quite close to the skin so I’m going to let this one macerate in the back of the cupboard to bloom into full maturity. It worked with both the Boisée and Prive; no reason it won’t have the same effect here considering the quality of the product.

All of my top favourite notes are here and perfectly blended together! What's not to like? Nothing! In no particular order I adore all fragrances with these distinctive notes: Clary Sage Juniper Berries Orris Peru Balsam Vanilla Tobacco I only pray and hope it won't get discontinued right away, as is an annoying trend with brands today! Keep this one around because it's juts become my favourite autumn/Winter 2025-26 ambery gem! Can't wait to put it on on a dreary autumn day!!!

Affordable Vanilla and Tobacco fragrance royalty here. Smooth, well-blended, long-lasting, delicious smelling scent. I'd class you as weird if you claimed you hated this. You can't really hate this. That opinion would be strange. It's unhateable, i won't hear anything else on the matter. It won't take you selling your body or your house to afford it. Go and get it and make yourself smell like sexy Father Christmas. Ho-Ho-Holy shit thats a nice smell. K Bye.

I'm a woman in her 30s. Omg this is a MAN!!! A BOSS. A gentle giant. Today I smelled 6 masculine scents and this is the only one that got me from the first sniff! Sweet, bold, gentle, smooth, masculine, clean, polished, kind, excellent manners, successful, sensual,....and it doesn't remind me of anything! That's the one! 10000/10🥰🔥 Update: On my father's skin Mom: 8/10, Dad: 9/10. Personal note and preference: 3:1 the OG:this one. 1000000/10! 😆🥰😍

Wow, this one's an absolute banger! One of the best new scents I have smelled in a long time! Probably, the best tobacco blend I've ever worn (most tobacco blends get too sweet/nauseating for me, but this one is just done right). Smells luxurious, niche and yet mass-appealing. Good projection for the first hour and then settles into a more intimate mode. This is blind buy worthy and deserves much more hype. Overall a solid 9.5/10

First testing and I guessed incorrectly. Thought this was a hype thing, but wow! This feels niche, more so than another recent designer that folks feel is niche, Boss Bottle Absolu, which I love. While I don’t necessarily agree with Boss/niche opinions I do feel like this could be an Imaginary Authors release or Pineward. I will be looking to acquire a 2oz bottle to add to my Givenchy 2oz bottle collection if possible. Big fan.

I've only tried this fragrance once. Prolly shouldn't even be writing a review to be honest. I'll update it when I get a bottle and wear it properly. I just believe this is a masterpiece by Givenchy. When I tried it on I just couldn't believe how good it is. 10/10 in every way shame I live in such a predominantly warm climate - I'd already own it for sure

I don't know what to think: I tried this in a store and was absolutely blown away. I ordered a Givenchy factory 10ml travel spray which arrived today and it is completely underwhelming. The one in the store was dense, sweet, and rich. The travel spray smells much fresher and aromatic more than the rich sumptuous juice I tried in store. Very strange.

Very impressive fragrance from Givenchy. Think of Tobacco Vanille + Naxos but made by Givenchy, with it's classic DNA- a good dose of iris/orris + narcissus with coniferous aromatics on top + ambery/smooth woody base. This is a wonderful blend, great for tobacco lovers. I'll say for me, this tops reserve privee for the best Givenchy fragrance.

!!!!!! This is probly the best one in the society line,....^*BUT...... who else got a squirt gun sprayer? Do they all have a straight line squirt gun sprayer action?? If so,.. It should come with a warning label FR! .. or at least should come with a pair of safety goggles! Gonna have to transfer to a better atomizer, amazing fragrance 10/10

@bfedorov11 Hard disagree on bottled recommendation. There are some similarities, but bottles elixir is much more potent. I think there's a bigger disparity in taste based on intensity of the fragrance than the actual scent profile. Someone liking this probably likes subtle fragrances, which bottled elixir definitely isn't

Not niche. Not ground breaking. However....... A stunningly beautifully blended, cold day, date night beast. A highly attractive scent. And a rare 10/10 from me. Replaces and beats, in every category, YSL l'homme and D&G The One. Sometimes you don't need a frag to be a revolution you just need it to be done right.

Already reviewed this one - I love it - but after repeated wearings I'm even more impressed with the longevity. If I apply 4 sprays (1 on my chest, 1 on the back of my neck, and 1 on the back of each hand) I can get a noticeable skin scent after 12+ hours. It's not a monster projector, but this stuff lasts.

This is nearly 1 to 1 with Obsession for men, the only differences being this is higher quality, and a lot dryer since Obsession tends to have an odd "moist" slightly musty smell. Otherwise they're identical, the orris and narcissus specifically replicate the carnation in the original perfectly.

This one "fixed" the things of the original. It introduces creaminess and extra sweetness to make it more suitable for younger people and just more versatile in general. Both are fantastic, some may like that dryness of the original, so it's not like one is exclusively better than the other

Got it for just 104$. Been wanting it for so long after first smelling it. Smell 10/10. Very classy, masculine, and definitely elegant. Not a kids fragrance nor mass appealing. So make sure to try it before buying. Edit: somehow it has crazy longevity but It lacks sillage.

This one is new in 2025. I’ve really taken to the Givenchy line, great stuff across the board. Ambree hit unlike the other Gentleman series (Privee, Boisee) and stands out for sure. Truly unique, mature, professional scent...think date night with the wife, not nightclub.

This is a fantastic perfume. It’s surprisingly complex. It has a soft quality thanks to the vanilla and iris, yet it also has a bold edge from the vetiver and tobacco. Overall, the scent is surprisingly balmy, resinous, and alluring. It’s an excellent scent for a date.

My first givenchy, don't know why I haven't got one from them before as it's very nice. It's not the most unique scent but who cares, a nice easy wear compliment getter. Plenty of people on here have given a scent breakdown so I won't bother. But I'd recommend it.

Oppulent, seductive, masculine and niche smelling. Another blind buy success for me. This is unlike anything I've ever smelt in the designer realm. Givenchy doesn't disappoint. Strictly night time wear and cooler weather for this frag to truly shine.

Nice smell, althought the market is full of variations of this one! It's all about likes/dislikes and options! I tend to say that goes close to Dior Homme 2025 but this one is a little fresher than Dior! Nice release! It's all about buttery iris!

I had Gentlemen Society before i got the Ambrée one. Reason is simple, narcissus with 2 vetivers of the original is a magical mix, AND I am a fanboy of Tobacco & Vanilla Definitely for Winter and quite cloying & overwhelming in high heat/ Summer

Simply awesome. Opening 7/10 (very spicy but good) Drydown 9/10 (smooth, smokey, vanilla, woody, spicy, a light chocolatey iris vibe, masculine, classy) This stuff lasts for hours. Best in the Society line. Givenchy killed it with this release.

Can't write a full review yet but I recently sampled this in-store, I love it, and I want it. It's a woody, ambery, unique, masculine, high quality scent. Waiting for it to show up on discounter sites at a reasonable price to grab a bottle.

This might be a bit wild to say, but on my skin this is very similar to coral fantasy, with a stronger vanilla and a hint more of winter to it, can’t really explain it. Definitely deeper than coral fantasy and made for winter and fall.
