Gentleman Society Sport

I'm 43... I think... I can't remember, but that just proves I'm middle aged and I absolutely love this fragrance! This DNA is beautiful. It reminds me of multiple fragrances, but it's unique enough that it isn't redundant in my collection. Here's an itemized list of points because it's what us middle-aged people do so we don't lose our train of thought: 1) The first time I tested this, I got a noseful of pepper. Not spicy, but very green, almost herbaceous and crisp pepper. It's subtle enough that I don't notice it anymore, but combined with the rindy lemon up front and it's a very photorealistic opening that's not at all aligned with most "modern fragrances" from my designers. It's different, but reminds me of the opening to Gris Charnel and even a bit of Xerjoff's Golden Green. It's super green and crisp. 2) As it dries down, I get a few hints of earlier Givenchy fragrances that I love and I believe that's where some of the mentions in the "reminds me of" section are coming from. Most notably, there's a hint of iris or smoothness that's reminiscent of Gentleman Intense (which is a lot like Gris Charnel and Homme 2020). There's also something similar to Gentlemen Only which is one of my all-time favorite fragrances for spring. If you've never put your nose on that one, do it while you can - it's a very underappreciated classic and, in my completely subjective viewpoint, a must have for anyone who considers themselves terrible with money... I mean a "fragrance collector"... 3) Is it me, or is there a hint of coconut in the dry down? It's not loud or super sweet, but it's a really "green", photorealistic sort of coconut - almost adding the same quality the coconut in Issey Miyake's Fusion Extreme adds to that very different aquatic DNA. It's not sunscreen-forward or artificial in any way - it's just this added hint of something "beachy" that makes me feel like it's summer everywhere within 3 feet of me and maybe it's the weather and time of year, but it puts me in a good mood 🏖️🌴🥥. Again, don't interpret this as a comparison to JPG Le Beau, Mancera Holiday, or Creed VIW; but it evokes memories of a place and it's nearly tropical whatever it is. 4. This is long. Sorry. The gist: who cares if I like it or if you hate it? Honestly, this is going to be a staple in my rotation this spring and summer and it was totally unexpected. It's also a relief to buy something new that doesn't turn out to be a near perfect clone of something else I own the minute I get home and can make comparisons. This is just really, really good perfumery that isn't trying to be anything else or follow trends. I've said it before and I'll be saying for as long as it's true: Givenchy is the best Designer House for men's fragrances overall. If you average my subjective rating per release, I'm nearly always impressed with each with the floor being much higher than most houses. That's just me though. You do you and wear whatever you like - it's all just dollars we've earned burning holes in our pockets so we can get a bit of dopamine with each sniff and purchase anyway. Isn't that why we get a little good feeling every time we move a fragrance from "I want" to "I have" in our fragrantica wardrobe?

A floral fragrance for men than is done to perfection. Classy yet not to serious nor stoic. Very polished and clean aura that fits the bill of a well groomed gentleman. The floral accord gives it a slight creamy and light wax feel to it but, doesn’t stay very long the waxy vibe detail that is. It gives the overall impression of a nice crisp morning breeze coming through an open bedroom window that has a bed of flowers just outside at the base of the window with a nice wooded tree line of Maples or Oaks just off into the foreground as you throw on fresh clean linen sheets. It’s airy, creamy, green yet there’s depth that’s just enough to ground it in a clean and masculine vibe without going overboard. It just feels balanced from start to finish. Maybe a bit abrasive at the very start within the first couple of minutes of initial spray but, the facets of the scent aromas come together beautifully and settles into a casual yet sophisticated composition. Simply a very vibrant and masculine clean scent that would work perfectly year round and would fit proper in a professional office setting or board room. A classy yet modern interpretation of clean manliness. I have the OG Givenchy Gentleman Cologne and this follows slightly in the clean aspect but, the citrus & florals really are more prominent in Society Sport and it has much better performance overall over the Gentleman Cologne. If you have never owned the Cologne which only has a more pronounced Iris accord yet is light & clean, this one is a very worthy replacement that is better in composition and overall quality of fragrance. One other thing, this is for men and men alone. If you’re a teeny bopper who likes maple syrup & cinnabon infused sweetened gourmand kitchen spices, stay away from this juice. This juice will not conform to those that need to affirm or grade masculinity or femininity on a whimsical spectrum of social creation. That shit is tiring. Either smell like a man or smell like a woman. Plain & simple people. No gray area in my book. I can hear & feel the groans & gasps already...... Winner here by Givenchy. All class and all Man.

I just received this in the mail to review...I'm not sure if it's available on the market to purchase just yet. TOP NOTES: Citrus Quartet/Lavender HEART NOTES: Daffodil/Vetiver BOTTOM NOTES: Cedarwood/Vanilla (So, I've just recently sprayed this on my wrist...so I will have to report back regarding longevity.) The initial spray is actually quite smooth and somewhat creamy. The added lavender in the opening gives it an "old school" sport vibe... which I enjoy (I'm 46 years old). But, this is not what one would call an "old man" vibe, but more of a classic vibe that can be worn by any age demographic. The initial projection is actually quite subtle, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I get the impression that this fragrance was not meant to be a loud beast, but more of a fresh, refined and woody hug that lingers on throughout the day. (Again, I will report later regarding longevity). I think this is an extremely safe fragrance that can be worn in numerous environments, from daily office wear to a night out and also formal wear. It's fun and sporty, but also masculine and refined. I can wear this throughout all seasons, but I think it would make a fantastic Spring and Summer fragrance...especially in the evenings. Has anyone else got their nose on this yet? I'd like to hear others thoughts! For my nose, this 2026 release is a success. It's truly pays homage to those late '90s fresh, creamy and woody fragrances that defined the industry during that era. Thanks for reading!

Absolutely LOVE this flanker. Love. Very green. Significantly more green than most of the reviews I've seen have alluded to. And thank goodness. This is a breath of fresh designer air to me. Off the top I get an iris. No, it isn't listed, but I'm pretty sure it is there. I get very little florals, but a decent dose of lemon. Then comes the wall of green..... Once it transitions to the mid, and base, all I get is bitter greens (leaves and stems) and a touch of woody vetiver. But mostly greens. I get *zero* vanilla, and *zero* lavender. If they are in there, they're well hidden (thankfully). I love this. Love. Well, everything but the retail price. Still bought a bottle anyway. And I'll pick up another when it hits discounters. I feel as though the 'Sport' nomenclature is misleading, or at least misused for this particular flanker. I wouldn't consider anything about this to be particularly 'sporty' unless we are conflating 'warm weather' with 'sport'. It is more of a Spring and summer leaning blend, but I have been wearing it in temps around freezing and it still seems to do pretty well. I love that this isn't like its predecessors. Nice to have something that strays a bit further from the other somewhat redundant flankers....

I don't understand why this fragrance is so hated. It's quite nice and unique. Many brand-new fragrances play it safe—they smell good but end up boring. This one isn't like that at all. It has a real difference. Honestly, I really like the Gentleman line. I'm not a fan of the Society line, except for this one. Society Original, Extreme, and Ambre all have that weird powdery smell I don't enjoy. But Society Sport doesn't have that powdery note. It actually feels more similar to Gentleman EDT Intense, which is probably why I like it so much. It opens with a blast of sweet lemon and spice. Some people might hate the spicy part, but I don't think it's that strong—just about the same level as Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey. It reminds me of lemon vetiver. After a few minutes, a floral iris note comes through. It feels like clean iris soap mixed with sweet lemon juice—really well balanced. It's not linear at all. It has that complex depth you usually find in expensive fragrances. It definitely doesn't deserve to be rated under 4.0, and it's much stronger than most normal citrus fragrances. —I really enjoy this one. 8.5/10"

This is definitely a banger fragrance for spring and summer coming up. I definitely get the lemon sorbet vibe people are saying but it’s not like Eros Energy type of lemon. That one is like a candied lemon with more sweetness and I also do enjoy that one. This one is like an uncut bitter lemon but some florals add the bit of sweetness making it smell more natural. 2nd day wearing it but so far at least a 9/10. Also wanna add that this kinda takes you on a trip back to the 90s with the opening. Then as it dries it gets more and more modern. This fragrance starts with a throwback to the 90s and finishes with a modern drydown, great fragrance 👍 This fragrance isn’t gonna be a slouch either I can tell, sprayed on a shirt in closet and 2 days later the whole thing smells like a bitter and sweet lemon field. I can see the opening right off the bat turning some people away because it does give off a somewhat “dated” fragrance feel just how the sharp citrus and vetiver hit you off the rip but some will also love the classic feel and I’m definitely one that digs it.

This is a beautiful citrus floral fragrance! Starts off with super tart, juicy lemon, maybe some lemon zest, maybe even lemon leaf because it has a slight green edge to it. I am also of the opinion that there is some black pepper in here, because it definitely has some spice to it. As soon as the narcissus and vetiver start to come through, the fragrance turns into this wonderful fresh, creamy, clean, intoxicating concoction. This is a very versatile fragrance that can be dressed up or down; the narcissus adds a lot of nuance and sophistication to a fragrance that would otherwise be derivative of Allure Homme Sport by Chanel. Society Sport is far superior to it in my opinion. Also, the projection for the first two hours or so is fantastic. I got a very enthusiastic compliment from a lady at work around an hour after I sprayed it on. Longevity is around 6-8 hours. I definitely recommend trying it out! Don't let the fierce blast of green and citrus at the start put you off!

I was so anticipating this one while owning the EDP and Ambree versions of the line and wasn't even doubting for it to be a banger for summer and warmer occassions. But the first time i smelled it in the store i got so disappointed , aomething in it was so off-putting. I'm not saying about it having Sport in the name. Neither was expecting the same warm spicy and iris accords. But for it to be well-put and memorable like the others in the line. I'd call it a mid-season fragrance but there are so many other better blended frags out there to grab , this one will struggle to find its place in collections. Longevity is good though, i've tried it in the afternoon and lasted before late night. At the end of the day, maybe it needs more love and time to be understood... i'll try to give it another go

I wrote my opinion about this one exactly 3 weeks ago as i promised i'd give it another chance. Today it ended up being a part of my collection. Sharp opening , which i suppose is the reason it gets so much hate together with the SPORT category, and a very impressive performance from a citrusy yellow floral fragrance, still being noticable after 8 hours and transforming into a pleasant skin scent afterwards. Stays on clothes for a couple days as well. Wearable for 3 seasons, almost any occassion. Update: first week of use, the temperature got 35° and above, i thought this was too heavy for such a heat but no - citrusy accords shine through narcissus and vetiver and bring coolness-like feeling. Performing very well (4 sprays) , got a skin scent on the neck even after the shower.

It's actually a nice scent from the 6 hour mark and onward. Lasts for over 36+ hours on paper strip. Yeah, it actually is somewhat similar to PdM Percival, not a bad comparison. You will likely get compliments with this if you're otherwise on point, as with all crowd pleasing fragrances. Edit: it's actually a quite good scent. Masculine, green, clean, adult-sporty and barbershop fresh. This is for men who wants to wave good-bye to their high school self and become an adult. Excellent for both professional and casual settings. Let it sit for some hours before judging folks, I suspect that you'll be pleasantly surprised. This fragrance is not for Dylan (age 17) who wears Invictus to the gym and watch metrosexual TikTok autists acting like literal robots.

I'm amazed at everyone mentioning the lemon. I did not pick up on lemon AT ALL until the dry down because of the overpowering Queen Anne's Lace smell. Like if you took a weed whacker to a ditch full of them. I guess it could smell a little bit like kefir lime but for me it's 100% Queen Anne's Lace. There is the right amount of sophistication and elegance to make this stand out. A slight powdery tarnished copper in the initial dry down, which I am a sucker for. Could wear this any time any place. No idea why they called it 'Sport' I wouldn't call it that unless you got a face full of dirt and grass while playing soccer. The very end of the dry down does have a faint coconut/sea salt hum to it. Volleyball?

I got a good deal on this and bought it blind. I have tried the originals and had no preconceived notions. The notes listed here are all wrong and should be corrected. This a nice fragrance. It's not quite what comes to mind when i read "sport" but I'm guessing in relation to the main it is probably "sportier". It opens lemon fresh with a nice lavender. After that its a fresh clean soapy kind of scent. Slightly floral. Slightly earthy. It's not listed here but im detecting vanilla in the background giving it a bit of sweetness. Love the bottle. Definitely fills a space in my collection. Outside, of imagination I've not found many soapy fresh scents i can wear or like.

Not at all related to any of the others in the line. Not really sporty too. I get a hit of citrus up top, but this doesn't last long, then it turns into a beautiful green woody fragrance. This is definitely woody aromatic, and a really well blended one at that but, if you are looking for a freshie when you hear the word 'sport' , that is not what this is. To my nose and taste, this is a really good fragrance, perfect for the upcoming spring season. Alongside Torino21, 40 Knots and Green Irish Tweed, this will be a regular in my rotation over the coming months. Very good projection and longevity too.

Leaving another review because I love this fragrance. The opening can be a bit divisive because of the punchiness I agree, but honestly I love the natural smell of it, almost has a honeysuckle note to it? And the dry down is awesome it’s like a sweet and tart lemon but super fresh and perfect for summer. Almost smells like a fancy lemon Sorbet with a touch of soapiness to make it super clean which I enjoy. As multiple people have said on here the opening might turn you away but once you let it dry down, you might enjoy it way more, so give it a few wears.

I love this fragrance but it's very different than the other Society fragrances. This is like an expensive soap smell. Clean, out of the shower high end soap. There's certainly an element of vintage or classic mens cologne vibe to this also. A little bit barber shop. There is a green freshness to this. "Think stems" of the flowers. I really love it but it's not what I expected. We'll thats my opinion. Certainly masculine. I wish it lasted longer!!! Its a bit to light. I want it to be stronger. WAIT FOR IT TO DRY DOWN! I ENJOY IT! .

Very nice addition to the line, might have been called Cologne, with an all white or transparent bottle. It’s not sporty, doesn't smell like deospray or showergel. Instead, a nice herbal feel, sage and vetiver heavy, almost has a dried tea vibe going through. that transitions gradually into a greener but close version of Givenchy Gentleman Cologne, which is now discontinued. This feels nostalgic and old-school for some reason, in a pleasing and calming manner.

A tale of two scents as it starts out very floral, grassy, some soapiness, but then dries down to become very similar to Dior Homme Sport on my skin. Why I love this, though, is because by the time it has dried down into DHS I'm at the point where the REAL DHS has started to fade off and is becoming a skin scent. Good buy if you want to smell like DHS later in the day and are happy to have something a bit different for the first hour or so.

this is sooo fresh!! tried this 3 times at different stores, and it's such a unique fresh smell! the addition of lemon is spot on, smells like you're at a beach resort that's built from woods you get hit with a very cold air breeze that smells of your lemonade drink and the wet fresh kinda sweet woods in there very versatile, mature, sophisticated, fresh. 9/10 would be a 10/10 if it was just a little fresher and brighter smell.

People hating on this fragrance are either teens or people that only like sweet and headache inducing synthetic fragrances. This smells clean and natural, like eating a lemon popsicle while sitting in a field of flowers with the sun shining. Clean, simple, refreshing. All you need in a spring and summer fragrance, not the sweet sickening garbage people think smell good but repulse people.

Just smelled this at Dillard's. This one blew me away as I love this type of scent. All I can really smell was the daffodil and vetiver, fantastic! Its definitely not a sporty fragrance like the name(none are lol) but I think they knocked the scent profile out of the park. Super unique, not really mass appealing and not following the trend of even their own latest stuff!
