Irresistible Givenchy Very Floral

The ambrette renders this perfume borderline floral-gourmand and even though the OG has ambrette too, here its nutty effect is more intense and lasting due to the amber. This version is like having a fresh zesty dessert in a blooming garden under the warm May sun. That's the first element I smell from this, sweet zesty & almost edible. I love ambrette, it's always smooth and calming and usually accompanied by a solar effect which it amplifies and complements; it comes off quite syrupy with the amber here. It is not a basic floral scent and I could tell there are strong solar notes here because the ylang ylang-black currant pair smelled kinda like salty orange blossom to me pretty quickly after the initial coconut/bergamot- ambrette blast. Ylang ylang is always found in solar scents and I prefer it as opposed to orange blossom, also giving a solar effect in perfumes. I dislike salty orange blossom notes in general just as I dislike unripe pear (salty too), and the Ylang ylang acts like orange blossom here once again apparently just like in BBW's Tropidelic, but it's always better. The black currant makes this bright, slightly green, tart and salty on me. I don't like black currant, and it always pops up in aldehydic fragrances (Moonlight Lady La Rive = Boss Nuit). It totally suits the vibe here though, it must be one of the rare instances that it doesn't bother me. The sweet solar elements of this perfume are comforting and beautiful, like the warm spring-time sun after a long cold winter. There is strong aldehydic effect at the drydown. The rose is fresh, slightly balsamic-heady as rose always is to me, but not nauseating and it accentuates the aldehydic vibe here. The opening is impressive and addicting so beautiful that I had to spray it again and again and again, and it felt as if this Irresistible version did not fit in with the other ones. The drydown is more generic, fresh and floral like the OG is to me, and it's quite aldehydic like spring air, not a bad thing, but the ambrette-amber elevate this scent as they retain the solar sweet creaminess. Smart move to place these notes at the base. I've moved on from department store screechy fresh floral scents, but this one is not one-dimensional. It is more interesting than the original Irresistible and more rich than the Fraiche version which is mainly iris-dominant and kinda powdery, not bad, forgettable though. The Fraiche is just plain to me on my skin, yet incredible-smelling from the sprayer. If I were to have one Irresistible it'd be this Very Floral. I'll have to see how it compares to Good Girl Blush as I dislike peony and it lacks the woody base of this one, but their pyramid is quite similar since ambrette may mimic almond and bergamot-ylang ylang are common notes. I always preferred Coach Dreams Sunset, Dahlia and Intimate Women Secret over the much heavier spicier Good Girl, so I am probably biased against Good Girl.

Possibly my favourite Irresistible. Instant love from the tester bottle - the opening notes are so beautiful! For a sweet girl verging on princess. It opens very floral 😃 Both sparkling, soft and zesty. A rose but in a big bouquet of other florals. I can't quite recognize them but it is great at this stage. The many notes sound so clear and lovely. Irresistible. Soon coconut water appears and it is the best coconut water in perfumes that I know. One of my faves - ylang joins together with the solar notes and it turns into a spacious bubble. I feel also a subtle black currant and bergamot flash in a contrast to the warmth of the base. The development into warm and solar took me by surprise. In Douglas from the tester it was very princess pink floral. I was so taken by it that my Mum gifted it to me. I cannot complain about the change to solar-floral-ylang because these notes are also a favourite but I miss a bit the pink floral princess that reminded me of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. But I have both so I am happy they are nothing alike. So far it surrounds me with a myriad of notes. Complex and fascinating. A bit bubble gummy. Jasmine can turn like that on me. And I like it. It is very different to Irresistible and its sisters. I do not feel the characteristic cedar pencils-like scent in the base. A child rather than a sister. If it was a flanker of Olympea I would not be surprised. It is airy, soft, sunny and cute. I think perfect for summer. And I woke up feeling its gentle scent on me! Rose long gone, but bubble gummy jasmine and sunny ylang ylang. Such a lasting power in a gentle scent? Perfect.

I'm interested in if I wrote a review for this previously... Pulled out a forgotten-about bundle of mostly used-up samples but there was still enough in Irresistible Very Floral to apply a wet dab across my hand. This one is WEIRD. It's really, truly strange, but, positively likeable in its chaotic direction. I can't even say too many cooks in the kitchen because all my favorites of this line feature Anne Flipo, Dom Ropion, & Fanny Bal. Not sure about Fanny but Caroline Dumur has worked with Ropion as well as Flipo. So we're all acquainted basically. I am not sure I would have clocked this as an Irresistible flanker, the rose is being smothered here & being told to SHUT UP. My memory is bringing forth Lancome's LVEB L'Elixir & LVEB Iris Absolu, but this HAS to smell like LVEB Soleil Cristal. I tried not to read any reviews but I did browse just a few & they all make mention of the discord of that fragrance, whether they like it or not. I ~was~ going to say perhaps Idole Aura was in the back of the perfumers' minds as the bare bones blueprint for a classy-like rose-involved beachy scent, but then I remembered that Flipo & Ropion were 2 of 3 perfumers that concocted OLYMPEA for the world (a signature scent of mine, when I felt it was much too hot for Angel Muse). Irresistible Floral is persistent, I can already tell I will be craving its unique scent, the SALT which I have no idea where it's coming from?!?! *chef's kiss* I must get a bottle before it is discontinued... Fragrances seem to have a year, 2 max, before they are reformulated or straight up taken away...

Sweetness and grace. It is far from the pillar, without the prominent cedar note that slightly irritates me in the original and the majority of the flankers. It is girly and beautiful. A perfect gift for a teenager or a student. I feel pink flowers and subtle fruity notes. But this is the opening. The scent changes with time. It is refreshing in a sweet floral way. Beautiful in summer, loved it also in the spring. But it should be universal, there is enough warmth in it. I highly recommend this flanker. Very Floral, Rose Velvet and Fraiche are my favourite Irresistibles, but I like to wear the entire family. It is so pleasurable that I quickly bought the entire collection not to miss out any. This one scores the youngest. The heart notes are the most prominent on me. Roses softened by iris fight for the domination with ylang warmed jasmine The effect is soft like a cloud and gentle like a breeze. Half a drop of currant's liquer add juiciness to the top. While bergamot drowns in coconut water. The top is also very subtle. The base is solar. In a way it is 'my skin but better' scent, it melts with me so well. Adorable. Lasts decently, in 38°C 6 hours, 3 of projection, then close to the skin.

The OG is one of my favourite perfumes but THIS is even better! It has more florals in the trail in contrast to the fruitiness of the original. It's also sweeter and more delicate in the drydown, while the original actively reminds me of a cologne for men. Otherwise, they are really similar, I've tried the whole Irresistible line at the store and picking between the two was really hard for me. The rest (eau te toilette, velvet rose) felt less gentle and more screechy (just to my nose, because I can't tolerate citruses). I picked the original for the purchase because I was afraid this would not last on skin due to the lightness. I am happy with the purchase but I still want this at least in small size, too!

This perfume was a pleasant surprise for me. I'm obsessed! I would believe it if someone told me this was a niche perfume or from Parfums de Marly. Very light, floral, with a slight sweetness from the notes of ambrette and coconut water. The notes fo roses are also prominent. It's different from Irresistible OG, but it's actually from the same family. It is a very feminine perfume, worthy of a princess, very delicate. Yes, princess is the perfect word for this one. I think it will be very good to layer with the Irresistible OG. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a light, more intimate fragrance, perfect for warmer climates. Think I've found a new signature!

This is my princess perfume 💕 When I wear this I always want to add a pink accessory to my outfit🎀 I find this very well rounded and it has great performance in my opinion. The opening I get black currant and iris similar to My Way Le Parfum's opening which I love. The middle is a fresh rose mainly with some white flower touches. The ambrettolide and solar notes in the base gives this fragrance a velvety texture and smoothness while making it a little sweet. I love ambrette and it's still detectable in this composition, not as strongly as in the other Irresistible perfumes. I find this fragrance so well executed, it deserves attention.

This perfume stood out to me instantly! It was instant love. It’s pretty princess in pink type of perfume. Really beautifully floral and fresh, very smooth, soft and feminine... I don't mind a single note in this perfume, it's perfection. It's not deep/rich type of perfume, but something very soft and romantic. Great as present. I tried also the original Irresistible, but this floral version was instantly better one for me. My boyfriend liked this scent on me so much, that he bought it for me on the spot 😊 The only downside is that unfortunately it doesn't last very long, but for this kind of fresh light scent it's understandable.

Typically I don't love rose-heavy perfumes. They can be cloying and sickeningly floral. But THIS... this isn't that kind of rose. This rose is sweet and light, like candied petals melting against my skin. It's creamy and delicate, yet grounded and mature. Not only that, but it has a year-round feel. Floral and bright enough for summertime, yet warm and smooth enough for the cold. This is a deep lovespell of a scent. ETA: drinking a glass of pink moscato and this perfume smells exactly like how my wine tastes. So if you're having trouble imagining it, go grab a bottle!

Smells different on the tester strip than it does on my skin. On paper, it is very floral, but I got a rosewater & lemon or jasmine tea type scent. On my skin, it smells more like the regular Irresistible EDP, or Rose Velvet, but not as good. The iris & blackcurrant stands out. Probably if you love Lancôme’s LVEB Iris Absolu, you will enjoy this.

Sparkling like pink champagne. The opening is bright and uplifting, thanks to bergamot. Dry down is gorgeous with prominent rose notes. The iris is there to provide softness but doesn’t make it overly powdery, unlike in the Velvets. I feel calm and happy whenever I wear Very Floral; it is my favourite in the line, aside from Nectar.

soo lovely and gorgeous, it’s powdery and baby lotion like. reminds me of a more rosey version of ‘my way giorgio armani’.. yet i do feel this is rather generic despite liking it so much, in 2024 i feel like i’ve smelt this a hundred times. it is a very safe perfume but wouldn’t recommend for the price point.

very much yellow floral at first spray, however on the dry down the sweetness really comes out. im typically not a fan of super fresh florals but this fragrance is beautiful! a great combination of fresh, floral, and girly, but still sweet and sexy.

Super pretty and it’s a beachy floral almost smells like gardenia which I see not listed in the notes! I didn’t like the OG but I love this one! I am liking Givenchy more and more each day especially since the prices of niche has skyrocketed! 😉

On paper it was really fresh but on my skin it’s like powdery strawberry ice cream. A princess perfume but still smart enough for work.

Very soft and feminine, great for Summer, not too sweet, just right.

Opens with a buttery smooth orris/iris scent. It’s one of those rich orris notes that feel so cosy. I get a bit of floral. I’d assume it’s a rose and maybe jasmine or something. I feel jasmine is in everything and I’m also thinking ylang-ylang which is often paired with jasmine to make a super creamy floral. The first scent comparison that popped in my head was Giorgio Armani My Way Parfum (and only the Parfum version). They both have that rich orris and soft floral. After a few minutes, all the rich butteriness of the iris/orris is gone. Why?! For a second, I was loving this. Now, all I get is warm dryer sheet! It’s the same kind of jasmine I get in Valentino Donna Born in Roma. Great if that’s your thing. I hate that type of scent. Into the dry down, it smoothes out and cools off from the warm jasmine dryer sheet. The orris/iris dominates again but there is a cool and slightly spiced vanillic scent wafting off my skin. I guess it’s some sort of cool ambery note playing off the powderyness that orris/iris can take on. I’m liking the dry down much more than the mid! It smells so similar but I just can’t place it. Maybe something like the drydown of MCM Ultra or something? Overall, love the opening, hate the mid, love the drydown, not at all unique. This works out to just a like. Will use my samples but do not plan to buy. Different than the Irresistible EDP as that one is right, tart, pink peppery. A bit of iris/orris too but it’s mostly the tart plus rose. I’m not getting much of that here. They’re so different that this flanker could be it’s own original fragrance.

Incredibly accurate initial blast of coconut water, then unfolding into a juicy, very floral scent. Young but not teen, somewhat generic at first but pleasant and standing out from her peers slightly. It’s a subtle difference but she walks a little slower, she stands a little taller, she’s wearing the same clothes as the rest of them but she got them tailored. She goes to a nice tailor, and she goes regularly. When she dries down she gets subtly sexier. “Subtle” is being overused here, but it’s a central part of my experience with Irresistible, Very Floral. It’s nice, subtly so. It’s generic but a little nicer, subtly so. That distinction is a key part of my read on this one. It gets the most interesting to me as it dries, revealing a slightly more nuanced, slightly more mature, sleek underbelly. But always juicy, fun, floral, and sweet. Something sexier and drier at the bottom of it that really swept me off my feet. Surprisingly (to me) I love the way this smells on me. I’m not usually reaching for florals or fruity scents but this tweaked my perspective a little.

Irresistible Very Floral’s opening is very fruity in fact: I can detect instantly the smell of a ripe, rich, syrupy blackcurrant. As the fragrance develops on the skin the most distinguishable notes to my nose are: rose, iris, jasmine, in this order, and then some non discernible woods. It’s a pretty perfume that smells good but in the same time is a classic fruity floral, powdery, with a warm, woody base. I don’t think it brings much value to my personal collection, since I have quite a few of fragrances with this DNA, so I’ll skip easily on this one. As points of reference, it is in the same vein as Armani Si line, Paco Rabanne’s Olympea Flora or Maison Martin Margiela’s On a Date. So if you already have any of those, maybe you don’t need Irrisistible Very Floral either... Testing it from an official Givenchy sample, the performance seems to be on the moderate side. A bit overpriced for what it is. Has a cute, classic bottle though!

I really like this! However, it pulls EXTREMELY woody on my skin, for whatever reason. The opening is absolutely stunning, but it dries down to a very strong ambrette and cedar on my skin, which is a little overpowering. With that being said, this is definitely a head turner and compliment getter. I smelled most of the flankers at ulta today and genuinely liked all of them. This one was toward the top of the list, just a little bummed by how it reacted with my skin chemistry. I’d test it first, but if you’re a rose lover and like deep, perfume-y fragrances this is for you.

Saw it in the shops like a week ago and was so confused because I hadn't seen ANY news of this coming anywhere online. Tried to look up here too and nothing. Now it's here and I can say that it's a good spring fragrance on a heavy yellow flower side, which I adore, so this might go to the cart. Still got that Irresistible DNA in her but I really don't dig the bottle much.

Very pretty, the added notes do give this a creamier beachy vibe compared to the original which was more fruity and tart from the pear. I like it. It isn’t my type to purchase but if you like rose + yellow florals or think the original was juvenile/too much like shampoo, this may be a good one. It didn’t last all day but it was a solid 6 hour performer on my skin.

This was completely fruity and floral for me, very bright! The rose is not overpowering at all it's a very pretty perfume, very pink!! So sad it doesn't last much on skin, on the clothes it was better but it's still a pretty perfume! Id have to smell the original to see if this one is better! I guess this would be nice for a gift/blind buy!

This is a very unique blend of a scent and I quite like it , it has sweetness thats like nutty on my skin with the fresh solar but I do not get rose at all on me since ppl say rose right away. I get solar soon as it hits my skin. I think this is a spring summery winner , the drydown is really nice and a bit sexy femme. rate 9

This scent is lovely, but it doesn't last at all. It's soft and floral. But you only smell it for a little while after you spray. I had the chance to try this fragrance again recently. While the initial scent is pretty, this gives a stuffy vibe after a while. I would not recommend this fragrance for that reason.

This scent reminds me of Maison Martin Margiela‘s Lazy Sunday Morning, but not as soapy and with a mild coconut note. I also got a hint of buttery popcorn when I put it on this morning. It’s nice, especially for warm weather, but not something that I’d jump up and buy for myself.

Such a beautiful warm floral scent. I enjoy testing this out, I smell iris and florals...not sure what other notes I smell since I can't detect. It does not smell like the OG Irresistible, to me it smells better and not in my face.

This Irresistible line, excluding last year's version (Rose Velvet, which I find delicious but too weak), in my opinion is not very interesting. The original one is just ok for me, it's feminine and fun but nothing that made me say "wow", while the two Edt versions are totally basic to my nose. This version is no exception, and I was expecting it. It has a delicious opening, with a very ripe black currant (I even get a very good gourmand sugary note), but it lasts just a minute, because it disappears very soon and then evolves into a totally generic rose fragrance. I get a fresh and bright rose (maybe rose water), some solar and musky notes and no others. It is certainly pleasant but very bland and it lacks a bit of charm in my opinion. If you are looking for a delicate rose fragrance for spring and summer and for daytime, I would suggest you to check out other fragrances, since it's also overpriced for what it offers. But if you like this fragrance, you will enjoy a good longevity, a good quality and a decent projection. 6/10

Truly disappointed by this perfume. When I tested it in-store, it was absolutely perfect on both paper and skin: sweet, airy, floral-y, slightly powdery, and it had a light, fresh coconut water scent in the opening. I felt like I could smell every note in the perfume. It was so pretty! However, the bottle I brought home from Macy’s smelled completely different. It was suffocating, powdery, and had strong floral notes that were not as pleasant. The comments describing it as overly floral and overwhelming were absolutely true.

The opening is a heavy dose of Rose de Grasse The rose-floral notes get sweeter as they set on the skin and i can also start smelling the iris which gives the scentmore dimension. Its not really a very fresh scent; it has more personality than the last irresistible rose velvetwith pretty good projection. But if you're not a fan of fresh rose scents like me this is really not for you.

Now I know why this is called irresistible! Just sweet enough; a beautiful fruity floral. This is one of the prettiest perfumes I’ve ever smelled. So soft and feminine. It’s a shame that the performance is so terrible. A skin scent and after 3 hrs there is no trace left, whereas the original irresistible lasted 8-10 hrs on my skin.

It is similar to Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming but much weaker. Pretty but very light, sits very close to the skin. I will give it a try again in hot weather, maybe it'll work better.

Was excited to try this as I do love some of the Irresistible perfumes, however, I can't advocate for it. I can tolerate a lot of fragrances except White Diamonds and Red Door, and now, unfortunately, even the original Poison (which was my signature perfume for a good 7 years). But this falls into the same category as those three now - screechy. Makes me sneeze a little, gave me a bit of a headache. Not as bad as WD or RD, because there IS a pleasant scent to it, but something in the beginning and mid comes off as harsh. I could see how this would be beautiful for some women, but on my skin, it just doesn't work. If you're curious try it at your local pharmacy/perfume shop, and give it a full day if you can, as it does evolve in a slightly magical way, but unfortunately I had to scrub after an hour.

Tried this yesterday and I'm still in shock over how awful this smelled on my skin once it dried down. I was expecting to at least low-key like this as I liked pretty much all the other scents in this line (albeit with reservations regarding each one), but this was just a train-wreck on my skin. Someone here spoke of an unappealing waxy lipstick note. I definitely got that and I think that the blackcurrant also didn't play nicely with my skin chemistry. All in all a very unsuccessful melange of notes on my skin. My favorite of this line so far is the OG whose notes I really love but unfortunately is overwhelming to me after a while to the point of slight nausea. Here the nausea starts immediately with the dry down and just gets worse as the scent wears on my skin.

I have the original, Nude Velvet and this Very Floral, but this is my least favorite. This one has a smell that's a bit smelly and watery due to the coconut water, which is unpleasant compared to the others. I'm trying to use it up quickly and using it as a room mist, but the largest size just won't go away (crying) I thought about giving it to my friends and niece, but they all said the same thing: "It has a stuffy smell" and wouldn't take it. Blind buying is one of the dangerous things about perfume.

I sprayed this on my hand at the store and couldn't wait to get home to wash it off. There's something in the "Irresistible" DNA that nauseates me and it shines through in this version as well. Add to that the "green", aquatic rose and "solar notes", and it's just an all-around miss for me. Not that it's a bad fragrance, but doesn't appeal to me at all.

The longer this sits on the skin, the worse it gets. I’m sure this is for someone, but definitely not for me. Overpowering, and smells granny to me.

Rose Suntan Lotion. Should be called Irresistible Soleil. Hard pass for me, but if you like solar yellow florals and rose, check it out.

Anyone else gets a Baby Powder bomb? Because, this comes off very powdery on me!

Got a sample in a shipment from Ulta and decided to give it a whirl. I should have read the (very good, thoughtful, and well-written) reviews here first because this decidedly was Not For Me in a way that, I can completely see how this is a well-made fragrance that could be lovely on others. I actually like the OG Irresistible but this just didn't work on me.

So this is my story w very floral, I got a testing strip at the store the other day and I kept it inside my phone case so I kept perceiving every now and then, also that day I got one spray of this one and the irresistible edp and I enjoyed the scent of very floral in the strip only, and didn’t like any once on my skin. But the next day I smelt Very Floral again from the paper and I was like I have to get it. Today I got the chance to spray myself 4 times at the store w Very Floral (neck and wrists) very good atomizer by the way and well, I honestly like my Bombshell Passion scent a lot more. I won’t be buying Very Floral, even though it doesn’t smell ugly. It basically has a lot of sweet coconut water w flowers, I wanted to try it at the beach though. But gosh for that amount of money I just don’t think I enjoy the scent enough, or the other ones bc I’m not ready for patchouli. I feel this perfume should be light yellow instead of light pink. So yeah, there are better sweet fragrances in the market, unless u test this and love it, then buy it haha I took my time to explore the fragrance first and I’m glad my perfume lady didn’t have it for me to impulsively buy just by the smell of the paper strip ✨ bc I contacted her this afternoon and then I went to the mall for a movie and stopped by the store and saved myself 160 bucks thanks for your time if u guys read this

This flanker is a softer, breezier take on the original. I’ve always considered the original Irresistible to be the true gem of the line elegant, sparkling, and memorable. Even Rose Velvet had its charm. But this one? It feels like it’s trying to catch a summer breeze but doesn’t quite land anywhere solid. It opens with a tropical hint probably from the coconut and bergamot and while it’s pleasant and easy to wear, it leans generic for me. The floral heart is there, but it doesn’t bloom in a way that feels special or unique. The base is soft, with solar notes and amber wood, but nothing really anchors it emotionally. It’s one of those “nice” scents inoffensive, wearable, light. but not something I’d reach for when I want to feel anything. A pretty bottle, but the soul of the fragrance just doesn’t shine through for me. – Bhavna Darira Chesan

I have tried most of the flankers and I think this one is my favourite to date. I have the OG and like it, but don't love it. Lancome Idole is my go to pear/rose fragrance. The Rose Velvet was too woody for me. I love blackcurrant but it really didn't shine in that flanker like I expected. The Eau Fraiche I immediately decluttered. This flanker is like what Absolutely Blooming is for the Dior line, the warm flanker. I get the Givenchy rose DNA in here but it's got some warmth behind it. The yellow florals were very prominent when I first got the bottle but now that it's been open a month they are more in the background (which I prefer). I can't smell any coconut or blackcurrant. All in all I like the flanker but it's not a love. My favourite rose fragrances are Idole and Si Intense (both 2024 and 2021 releases).

I can pick out the jasmine, coconut water, and cedarwood in this the most, in that order. It is very pretty and smells really similar to Gardens of India by Parle Moi Parfums but way softer and a little muskier. It's like a pretty jasmine shampoo/bubble bath. It does tickle your nose a little like a fizzy pink champagne. Would be a good chill day/after shower scent. To compare, the original Irresistible is a lot more fruity/watery (pear im assuming) and a little more exciting to my nose. Very different from eachother, both worth owning.

Damn this smelled good right from the top. I thought immediately, oh I NEED this. But then, it just kind of disappeared. So sad. It was F***ing amazing for like 10 seconds, much like propofol. I don't know where it went, but I was left with a mild floral scent with a little solar, coconut notes which was nice to have a French floral with a little coconut to it but I really wanted more. Maybe I need to just get the travel spray and give it some more wear tests.

This is one of those lux perfumes/ brands that are not for everyone. This is boss powdery and lasts all day. If you are into sweet basic pretty perfumes this aint for you. For me this is romantic and CEO at the same time, it makes you feel like you have your stuff together. Look how many noses are behind this creation. Again, not for everyone.

I seem to be anosmic to the musks in Irresistible Very Floral, as I actually can't smell it (while my best friend could). I can smell the previous flankers in this line and my favourite is Irresistible Rose Velvet. I was really excited about this perfume, so I will try it again later and update.
